00:00But the one team that has made a ton of progress in the last 19 games has been the Philadelphia
00:04Phillies ever since they parted ways with Rob Thompson. Don Mattingly has come in and seems like he has righted
00:11the ship a little bit. And Aram, you know him well, and so do I. And I get asked this
00:15question, you know, certainly a lot. Is it like is Don Mattingly the reason why the Phillies are 15 and
00:21four? No, but it seems like they made the right decision at the time to bring the guys at their
00:27lower water level to maybe their water level.
00:30I mean, that that's what Donnie has always been really good at is keeping things even not letting things go
00:35too high or too low. And I think I think that look, the Phillies are still going to lose some
00:38games to eventually as well. Yeah, but it seems like the right call.
00:43It's hard to say it's anything but that right. But at the same time, it is it is funny where,
00:47you know, Rob Thompson was the right call as the guy that to change things up when Girardi really wasn't
00:54his fault was the reason why, you know, they weren't performing in the way that I think we kind of
00:59saw the
00:59the scapegoated scenario that just comes with the territory of being a big league manager, right? But there is something
01:05about just I think seeing things shaken up a little bit there. I think it lights a fire under especially
01:10some of your veteran players and just kind of realizing like, hey, we're at this point of the season already
01:15where we're performing so poorly and we're up against it to where our manager is getting fired. Like we really
01:19got to kick it into gear here and maybe just hearing a different voice after the last few years is
01:24something that can get them in the right direction.
01:25But a lot of times, especially with the Phillies with multiple managers here, the guy that gets fired, I kind
01:32of feel for and say, man, it's not really his fault. But then the Phillies have been able to turn
01:35it around right after that. So maybe this is a team specifically this group. It is a lot of the
01:40same players here in the core that responds well to things being shaken up a little bit.
01:45Yeah, I talked to JT Real Muto when he was in South Florida. And he told me before you like
01:51you freak out, go take a look at the teams we played, how hot they were. And then the schedule
01:56that we had at the beginning, and there was like no panic whatsoever. He was 100% right. I mean,
02:00he was like, we're gonna get this this going. And he was right there too.
