00:11Israeli forces intercepted a Gaza-bound aid flotilla off the coast of Cyprus after it departed from Turkey last week.
00:22More than 30 people were wounded after Russia launched hundreds of drones and nearly two dozen missiles across Ukraine overnight.
00:31The city of Dnepro and the surrounding central region of Ukraine bore the brunt of the attack, officials said.
00:37Damage was also reported in Ukraine's Odessa, Chernihiv and Zaporizhia regions.
00:43The barrage continued a recent spiral of long-range strikes that have grown in scale following a three-day ceasefire
00:50brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump, but which had little impact.
00:54Russia hammered Ukraine over several days last week, flattening a Kiev apartment building where 24 people died.
01:02Meanwhile, in more than four years of war, Ukraine has built up its own long-range capabilities, unleashing one of
01:08its largest drone strikes on Russia on Sunday, killing at least four people.
01:14That has increased the pressure on Putin, whose army is struggling to make progress on the battlefield, and who claimed
01:20earlier this month that the war is approaching its end.
01:23Still, there is no sign a peace deal is taking shape, despite U.S.-led diplomatic efforts to end Russia's full
01:30-scale invasion.
01:36Andrei Yermak, the former chief of staff of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has been released on a 2.7 million
01:43euro bail after spending four days in custody as part of a major anti-corruption investigation.
01:49The bail was reportedly paid by multiple sources after Andrei Yermak said on the 13th of May that he could
01:55not afford to pay it himself and would rely on France for help.
01:59According to Ukraine's anti-corruption investigators, Yermak is a suspect in a large money-laundering probe tied to the construction
02:06of a luxury residence complex outside Kiev.
02:10They're investigating a scheme where up to 9 million euros was laundered between 2021 and 2025 through the construction of
02:18the high-end residence complex.
02:19If convicted, Yermak could face up to 12 years in jail.
02:24Yermak and his lawyer denied wrongdoing, calling the charges unfounded.
02:28Yermak also vowed to appeal the court's ruling.
02:31Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau said last week that Zelenskyy has no connection to the corruption investigation.
02:42Israeli forces intercepted a Gaza-bound aid flotilla off the coast of Cyprus after it departed from Turkey last week.
02:49It is the latest of numerous attempts of the flotilla to deliver aid to the Palestinian territory by sea.
02:57Gaza continues to suffer a severe shortage of food, medicine and other essential supplies.
03:03Israel controls all entry points into Gaza, which have been under blockade since 2007.
03:10Footage from cameras on board the vessel showed activists wearing life jackets and raising their hands as a military vessel
03:17with Israeli troops approached them.
03:19Armed soldiers then boarded the boats, and the live broadcast was abruptly cut off.
03:25Unlike previous operations, which were carried out during the night, the Israeli military boarded the vessels in broad daylight this
03:32time.
03:33Earlier, Israel's foreign ministry warned that it would not tolerate any breach of the naval blockade it has imposed on
03:39the Gaza Strip.
03:40It claims the flotilla's aim was to, quote, serve Hamas.
03:45Turkey, meanwhile, condemned the operation.
03:47It says the interception of the flotilla in international waters is an act of piracy.
03:52It's over 100, not to go miles away.
03:58Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's party suffered a historic loss to the Conservative Popular Party in Andalusian regional elections on
04:08Sunday,
04:09in a vote that is considered a preview of next year's national vote.
04:14The socialists, led by María Jesús Montero, took just 28 of 109 available seats,
04:22while the main Conservative Popular Party, which has been governed in Andalusia since 2019
04:28and is presided by Juan Mamoreno, won 53, too short of a majority.
04:34The far-right Vox party took 15 seats and could be a potential kingmaker,
04:39as the PP has previously formed coalition governments with Vox in other regions.
04:45It has not ruled out collaborating with Vox at next year's national elections.
04:50Regions hold broad powers in key areas, such as health care, education and housing,
04:56making this election a decisive test within Spain's decentralized system.
05:01The elections took place in a context marked by fatigue,
05:06with the national government and several corruption investigations involving the Prime Minister's inner circle and former aides.
05:18Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has called on the European Commission to relax its fiscal rules
05:24for households and industries struggling with rising energy costs.
05:29In a letter sent to Commission President Ursula von der Leyen,
05:32Meloni said the bloc should treat energy security with the same level of urgency and importance as defence spending.
05:40Meloni argued security should not be measured just in military terms,
05:44but also by whether factories can continue operating,
05:48families can afford energy bills and governments can maintain economic stability.
05:53Her call comes amid growing concerns that escalating tensions in the Middle East could trigger another energy crisis.
06:00Meloni argues that Brussels previously loosened its budget rules in response to Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine,
06:07as well as growing concerns over Europe's military preparedness.
06:11Italy is now seeking similar flexibility for emergency energy measures.
06:20A Spanish court has ordered the tax authority to refund Colombian pop star Shakira more than €55 million,
06:29which it ruled were improperly collected in a dispute over her taxes from 2011.
06:35The ruling concluded that tax authorities had failed to prove that the artist resided in Spain for more than 183
06:43days,
06:44the required amount to be considered a tax resident in the country.
06:48She had in fact spent 163 days in the country, the ruling found.
06:53The hits don't lie singer is now set to receive more than €55 million in the amount she had initially
07:00paid plus legal interest.
07:02Tax authorities had also argued that she lived in Spain long enough to be liable for taxes between 2012 and
07:092014,
07:10but she reached a separate settlement for that case with prosecutors back in 2023, avoiding a broader fraud case.
07:18Following the verdict, she denounced being treated as guilty for years,
07:22enduring brutal public shame in and orchestrated campaigns to destroy her reputation.
07:32Around 10 new suspected victims have come forward as part of a French probe into the network of late U
07:39.S. sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
07:42France opened a human trafficking investigation after the U.S. Justice Department released the latest batch of the Epstein files
07:49in January.
07:51French magistrates are looking to investigate possible offenses committed in France
07:55or involving French perpetrators who facilitated his crimes.
08:00The Paris prosecutor said in total around 20 suspected victims made themselves known,
08:06including about 10 who were already known to investigators.
08:14A celebratory opening ceremony marked the start of trading for Uzbekistan's national investment fund,
08:21known as Uznef, on the London Stock Exchange.
08:26The fund launched simultaneously in London and Tashkent through a dual-listing structure,
08:33marking the country's first international equity offering.
08:37Not only is it the first ever international IPO out of Uzbekistan,
08:42but it also opens the gates for more global investment to flow into this exciting and high-growth economy.
08:48Uznef was created in 2024 and includes stakes in 13 state-linked companies operating across sectors,
08:56including energy, telecommunications, transport and banking.
09:00The fund is managed by Franklin Teplanton, the U.S.-based global investment company appointed to oversee the portfolio
09:07and support its international market strategy.
09:10While we celebrate in London today, Uznef has also begun trading on the Tashkent Stock Exchange,
09:17marking the largest local listing to date and enabling Uzbek citizens to invest directly in their country's future.
09:26According to official data, investor demand exceeded the initial offering by more than four times
09:32during the book-building process, generating more than $2.8 billion in orders from international investors.
09:39The IPO raised around $603 million and valued the fund at approximately $1.95 billion.
09:48International investors participating in the offering included BlackRock, Franklin Teplanton and Redwill.
09:55Nine years ago, Uzbekistan was still largely closed.
10:00And today we are building an economy that is competitive, investment-driven and globally connected.
10:08This IPO is not just about raising capital.
10:12It is about building trust in a new generation of Uzbek institutions.
10:16Officials and investors said the listing could open the way for future international offerings
10:22linked to Uzbek companies and capital markets.
10:46I'm 57 years old, coming from a very machista country called Spain,
10:50where there is an average of two women killed monthly by their ex-husbands or ex-boyfriends,
10:59which is horrible.
11:01Just that amount of women being murdered, it's unbelievable.
11:06And we kind of normalized it.
11:08It's like, well, yeah, it's horrible.
11:11I mean, are we nuts?
11:13We are killing women because some men think they own them?
11:17They possess them?
11:19So, and that problem also goes to Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin and Mr. Netanyahu,
11:25the big, bold man saying, my big, my **** is bigger than yours,
11:30and I'm going to bomb the **** out of you.
11:33It's a **** toxic behavior that is creating thousands of deaf people.
11:39So, yeah, we have to talk about it.
11:41So, yeah, we have to talk about it.
