00:01U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening for a state visit to China,
00:08greeted by Vice President Han Zen during a welcome ceremony.
00:12The U.S. President is seeking to sign deals with China to buy more American food and aircraft,
00:19saying he'll be talking with Xi Jinping about trade more than anything else.
00:24Trump's trade war with Beijing has sent U.S.-China trade into a freefall
00:29and forced companies on both sides of the Pacific to regroup.
00:34Now, Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping will try to use this visit as an opportunity to stabilize their relationship.
00:42The U.S. President will be in China from 13 to 15 May.
00:46Trump has taken along top business and industry executives,
00:50including Elon Musk, Jensen Huang of NVIDIA, Apple's Tim Cook and many others.
01:01Ukraine is under a massive Russian daytime aerial attack that has killed at least six people,
01:08with over 800 drones already sent since midnight, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
01:15While dozens more have been injured, the leader wrote on his social media on Wednesday afternoon
01:21that the assault was still ongoing.
01:23Regions targeted include Kyiv as well as the southern region of Odessa,
01:28where at least two people have been injured and homes have been destroyed, officials reported.
01:34Meanwhile, Russian attacks on Cherkesee have left three people injured.
01:39Western regions of Ukraine, such as Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk, have also been hit, according to Ukrainian officials.
01:47Two people were left dead in the Rivni region and four others were injured following a Russian strike,
01:54according to Vitaly Koval, head of the regional military administration.
01:59Meanwhile, Moldova's defense ministry has confirmed a violation of the country's airspace,
02:05after reports appeared on social media of a drone filmed over Balti.
02:10Moscow's massive aerial attack is happening as US President Donald Trump arrived for a visit to China.
02:22NATO is not dead.
02:24This was the message delivered by Latvian President Edgarsk Nkievicz
02:29at the B9 summit in Bucharest on Wednesday.
02:32The meeting aimed at exploring how allies on the eastern and nordic flanks
02:37can contribute more to transatlantic security.
02:41Despite tensions between Europe and the United States,
02:44the Latvian leader believes that the transatlantic allies understand their interests within NATO.
02:50I still see and I still believe that like Europe needs the United States,
02:56from very practical reasons and also from very political reasons,
03:01the United States are realizing that also they need Europe.
03:06And still, NATO is the best platform to align those interests,
03:10also to align some values and also to align some common action.
03:15Having said that, now we have to be very careful not to further destroy this kind of mutual trust,
03:22but actually to rebuild some of the bridges that have been damaged but not destroyed.
03:29Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, the Latvian President says
03:33he is seeing encouraging signs from the battlefield.
03:37What is encouraging is that what we have seen recently,
03:43Ukraine has been able to develop its drone systems, its long-range missiles,
03:49it's hitting Russia's economic infrastructure hard.
03:55But at the same time, we see also that Russia continues attacking civilian infrastructure.
04:00Russia is not gaining so much as it used to two, three years ago on the front line.
04:08However, he is careful not to speculate about a possible end to the war.
04:13Rinkiewicz stresses that Russia's capabilities must not be underestimated.
04:18Rather than debating Moscow's potential weaknesses,
04:21he calls on allies to continue their efforts to put pressure on Russia.
04:29More than 1,700 people have been confined aboard a cruise ship on Wednesday
04:33in the southwestern French city of Bordeaux
04:36after a passenger died and dozens more developed symptoms of a suspected norovirus outbreak.
04:42The affected patients, according to the ship's captain,
04:46have received medical attention by the onboard ship doctor
04:49and are being isolated in their cabins.
04:51The cruise ship, named the Ambition, part of the Ambassador Cruise Line Company,
04:57is carrying mainly British and Irish passengers.
05:00It departed from the Shetland Islands north of Scotland on the 6th of May
05:04before making stops in Belfast in Northern Ireland
05:07and Liverpool in England prior to its arrival in Bordeaux.
05:10The ship was midway through a 14-night cruise when the infections were reported.
05:15France says it dispatched a team to carry out a health situation assessment on the vessel
05:20where medical professionals are collecting samples to identify the illness.
05:25Authorities have decided to prevent the disembarkation of passengers and crews
05:28until the collected samples are tested by laboratories.
05:32Health officials say the infections could also be severe cases of food poisoning,
05:36but have ruled out any connection to the Hantavirus,
05:39which hit another cruise ship just weeks ago
05:42and has put European health authorities on alert.
05:50EU lawmakers have reached a provisional deal to make the EU-US trade agreement
05:55suspendable in the event of a market disruption caused by a surge in US imports.
06:01Your news has learned from two sources close to the talks.
06:05Intense negotiations have been underway between EU governments and the European Parliament
06:10over the implementation of the deal,
06:13which could cut EU tariffs on US goods to zero under pressure from the Trump administration.
06:20MEPs have been pushing for tougher conditions since the agreement was clinched last summer
06:25between Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen,
06:29arguing that it must not become a vehicle for extortion of the EU.
06:33A provisional compromise was found on a safeguard mechanism
06:37allowing the EU to re-impose tariffs on US industrial goods
06:41if a surge in imports disrupts the European market.
06:46Negotiators also agreed in principle to include a sunset clause
06:50that would automatically terminate the deal unless renewed,
06:54though the final timeline remains under negotiation.
06:57The Commission is also pushing to remove references to the EU's anti-coercion instrument,
07:02seen as the EU's trade bazooka,
07:05that could curtail US access to the European seagull market in unprecedented ways.
07:11The Commission is also pushing back against provisions suggested by Parliament,
07:16allowing the suspension of the deal if Trump were to threaten the bloc's territorial integrity again,
07:22one of the sources said.
07:24EU negotiators are aiming to finalise the agreement by June,
07:28ahead of a plenary vote in the European Parliament the same month,
07:31in time for the 4th of July deadline set by Trump.
07:39An EU committee made up of experts from member states voted on Tuesday
07:44to ban imports of Brazilian meat starting from the 3rd of September
07:47due to the country's wide use of antimicrobials to stimulate animal growth.
07:53The decision to remove Brazil, famous for exporting steak to the world,
07:57from the list of countries that comply with EU food safety standards
08:01comes after the EU-Mercosaur free trade agreement provisionally entered into force on the 1st of May.
08:08The deal between the bloc and the South American Mercosaur nations of Brazil, Paraguay,
08:13Uruguay, Argentina, and Bolivia has been decades in the making,
08:17with negotiations first taking place in the year 2000.
08:21The deal sparked major opposition from European farmers,
08:25who feared that different production standards and regulations will create unfair competition
08:30with cheaper Latin American imports.
08:33An official with knowledge of the file said that the vote was unanimous,
08:37making Brazil the 1st country removed from the list of states
08:40complying with EU restrictions on antimicrobial use in animals.
08:45Brazil, however, remains free under the current agreement
08:48to export its agricultural produce to Brussels.
08:52The list of 3rd countries, which comply with EU requirements,
08:55and therefore can export food producing animals to the EU,
08:59will be formally adopted in the coming days.
09:10You want to know what makes a hero?
09:16It's not destiny.
09:21It's not something you're born with.
09:26It's searching for greatness.
09:29Johnny Cage, you have been chosen for more to come back.
09:33Then realizing you've had it in you this entire time.
09:40We learned a lot from the first movie.
09:42I think the producer, Todd Garner, really took into what fans were saying feedback-wise,
09:46and we just wanted to just make this the most insane fight film ever.
09:50So the first movie, to me, is kind of like a prequel,
09:53building up to the tournament, and this is the tournament.
09:56From the second you watch it, non-stop action, and yeah, it's very intense.
10:05Don't worry, you won't.
10:10Don't.
10:11Send me back.
10:12I want to go back.
10:15The rules of the tournament are simple.
10:18Our fates would not be settled by the size of our armies.
10:22They would be decided
10:25by combat.
10:30I'm not some great warrior.
10:33I'm not some champion.
10:37This is a war
10:39for the fate of your world.
10:45Freeze him!
10:47Me?
10:52Earth belongs to me.
10:56We do not kneel!
10:59Our only chance is to face this together.
11:02Let's go, baby.
11:07You, Johnny Cage,
11:09are a part of this now.
11:20It's showtime.
11:23Get over here!
11:36Johnny will definitely die.
11:42I'm going to die.
