00:00What if I told you there was a story that began before the dawn of creation,
00:03a tale of words, light and life, a narrative that intertwines divinity with humanity,
00:09a story that speaks to the heart of existence itself. This story begins with the word.
00:14This word was not just a sound or letters strung together. It was with God, and indeed it was God.
00:21The word was there in the beginning, coexisting with God. It was through this word that all
00:26things came into being. Nothing that exists came to be without the word. And this word was not just
00:32life, but life that shone as a light for all of humanity. This light, it shone in the darkness,
00:37illuminating the deepest corners of existence. But the darkness could not comprehend it,
00:42could not overcome it. Now, there was a man named John, sent from God himself. He was a witness,
00:48there to testify about the light. His purpose was to help all believe through him. Yet he was not
00:53the light, he was simply a witness to the light. The true light, the one that gives light to everyone,
00:59was coming into the world. It was in the world, and ironically, the world which came into being
01:05through it, did not recognize it. It came to its own, but was not received. Yet, those who did receive
01:12it, who believed in its name, they were given the right to become children of God. Not born of the
01:18flesh
01:18or of the will of man, but born of God. The word then took on flesh and dwelt among us.
01:24We saw its
01:24glory, a glory as of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John testified
01:30about him, saying, This is the one I spoke about when I said, He who comes after me has surpassed
01:36me
01:36because he was before me. From his fullness, we have all received grace upon grace. For while the law
01:43was given through Moses, grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God,
01:49but the one and only Son, who is himself God, and is in closest relationship with the Father,
01:54has made him known. John was questioned about his identity by the Jewish leaders.
01:59They asked if he was the Messiah, to which he replied, I am not. He denied being Elijah or the
02:06prophet.
02:07Instead, he identified himself as a voice in the wilderness, preparing the way for the Lord.
02:12John baptized with water, but he revealed that among them was one they did not know,
02:17one coming after him, whose sandals he was unworthy to untie. Then John saw Jesus approaching
02:23him and declared, Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. This is the one
02:29I meant
02:29when I said, A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me. John testified that
02:35he
02:35saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on Jesus. This story, this tale of the
02:41word
02:41light and life is not just a narrative but a revelation. It's a testament to the divine
02:47intertwined with humanity, a proclamation of a love so profound that it took on flesh and dwelt
02:52among us. This is the story of the word becoming flesh.
