00:00All right, let's dive into this Andre Yosevich discussion.
00:02And Andre talked for a bunch of time with reporters, spent time with reporters on Tuesday.
00:09And not shocking to see that.
00:12He's really good about talking with the media and I think is willing and comfortable to do so, which I
00:18like.
00:20And why wouldn't you?
00:22I think as a fan, you should like that too because you get to see Andre.
00:24You get his honest answers a lot of times.
00:27And what was interesting is the conversations that he had about his role, about some of the messages and DMs.
00:35And so let's start there.

00:39And yeah, just a bit agitated, I think, and emotional, in control, but certainly emotional.
00:48Andre Yosevich talking about some of the messages he received last year and just kind of the reaction to some
00:55of the DMs that he was receiving.
00:57I guess the cliche at this point would be focus on what you can control, control the controllables and work
01:04on your own craft.
01:05Is that your approach?
01:06Yeah, that's how I've usually always been.
01:08I felt like last year I was in my head a little bit.
01:12Why do you think I was against you?
01:14Just because the situations were weird.
01:16I had those drops in those games and people were telling me to kill myself and all that kind of
01:20stuff.
01:20So I never had that kind of stuff happen to me before.
01:23So it got in my head a little bit.
01:24You know, when your DMs are flooded with people telling you to kill yourself and stuff.
01:28Are you serious that people were in your DMs like that?
01:31Yeah.
01:31It makes me angry, honestly.
01:34All right.
01:35So Andre clearly not wanting to talk about it, not wanting to dive into it too deep and explain his
01:41mindset.
01:42And then our guy Jay Morrison, who you can read at BengalsTalk.com, got more video of Andre discussing his
01:50mindset, discussing the Kobe Young pick, discussing everything that comes with being a receiver, going into a contract year with
01:57the Cincinnati Bengals.
01:59This is a contract year.

02:04Uh, I don't know.
02:06I'm not really going into this year expecting anything.
02:08I'm just going to do me and whatever happens, happens.
02:11Uh, I don't really hope for anything.
02:14I just be, I just am.
02:16So whatever happens, happens.
02:18Is that because they voiced something to you or is that just in your, your thinking?
02:21That's just how I am now.
02:22Yeah.
02:22The front office has done a lot this off season, a lot of changes in the defense.
02:26What have you seen that they've done and how excited is it to be back here and see all the
02:30changes?
02:31Yeah, it's really exciting.
02:32I think I'm, I remember it was Saturday night and we signed Dexter Lawrence.
02:35Like I, I sat on my phone and I was sitting with my boys and I, yeah, I was like,
02:38holy shit.
02:39Like we just signed Dexter Lawrence.
02:41And I think I blacked out that night, honestly.
02:43So that's how I feel about it.
02:45Yeah.
02:45He's a great dude.
02:46Great locker room guy.
02:47Actually, you know, it's fun to see guys who are that great at their job.
02:50Also be great locker room presence and work hard.
02:52So I think he'll be a great addition to the team.
02:54Is there, is there something about you or your game that when people see you out there this fall,
02:58I'll be like, wow, he's, he's improved in that.
03:04Um, I don't know.
03:04I feel like I improve every year, but it's, it's weird because it's a contract year.
03:11And like, but we had the same receiver room.
03:13Um, so it'll be, it'll be fun.
03:14I mean, I just want to make the most of all my opportunities and that's how I always am.
03:17Um, yeah.
03:18Is it like they open the door for like, it's just a good competition.
03:21Have they talked to you about what's that?
03:24I don't really care about that kind of stuff.
03:25Honestly, I used to do me and whatever happened.
03:27I feel like I've been fighting for that spot for like three years.
03:29So I don't care.
03:30What's your expectations this year for yourself?
03:33He's playing my best.
03:35And that's, that's all that can happen.
03:37And I think I'm a great player.
03:39So that's what I'm going to play out.
03:41All right.
03:41So a couple of things and a lot to unpack there.
03:43Look, Andre Yosevash saw the gripe, saw the complaints.
03:46And I think that he's someone that is active on social media as a lot of young people are
03:52pay attention to social media.
03:53And so, uh, that's the first thing is man having his DMS closed would, uh, would, would
04:00maybe help, but is there any excuse for, for the stuff he was receiving?
04:04No, but it does come with the territory and, and that's part of it.
04:08And it's an unfortunate part, but it is a part.
04:12And if you're in the public light at all, you're going to subject yourself to clowns,
04:19idiots, uh, ignorant people, and you let it get to, or you don't.
04:24And I think Andre probably let it get to him a little bit last year.
04:29And it was a, it was a tough year.
04:31It was a tough year on the team.
04:32He's not a big reason why they were six and 11.
04:34Could he have made a few more plays?
04:35Absolutely.
04:36But they were a flawed team.
04:37So I don't put it on Andre.
04:39Uh, what I do think, what I do think is, is really interesting is how much Andre could
04:52vault himself this, this, this season.
04:55It's a contract year.
04:57I was looking back at Tyler Boyd and what he was doing, right?
05:01And like, could Andre get 60 catches and average 10 yards a catch?
05:05So 60 catches, 600 yards.
05:08And so let's say five touchdowns, seven touchdowns, whatever.
05:10Absolutely.
05:11I think that I think 65 catches, 70 catches anywhere in that 60 to 70 range with a healthy
05:16Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase Teagans, even if all their, all those guys are healthy.
05:19I think that's realistic.
05:21They're going to throw the ball all over the damn place.
05:23And I told Andre that on Tuesday, I wasn't in the scrum, but I had heard about it.
05:28Like media members like, man, Andre just discussing things, how he can't focus on DMS and this
05:34and I'm just like, man, 70 catches like that could easily happen.
05:38And I get it.
05:39It's frustrating.
05:40If you think maybe you think about the numbers and not about the team, but in this offense,
05:46that just comes and there's going to be times when that happens and you have your big games.
05:53And last year was weird because it went Joe Burrow, Jake Browning, Joe Flacco, Joe Burrow.
05:59And it's hard to get into a rhythm, but if he has Joe Burrow this year, he's going to
06:04produce, I'll buy that stock.
06:06Like if, if you look at Andre Yosevich and his body of work, and then you say overachieved
06:11at every, from the jump overachieved at Princeton, got drafted, impressed the Bengals during the
06:15pre-draft process, gets here, blows them away.
06:18They think he's going to be productive right away.
06:20He does produce as a rookie sixth rounder to produce as a rookie tough to do.
06:23And yet he was doing it in this offense with Joe Burrow.
06:26Second year does the same thing last year, man.
06:29It's a cluster with all the injuries and, and, and still it's, it's not like he was bad.
06:36Like he, he did put up some numbers, but it wasn't the same, right?
06:39435 yards and two touchdowns, 33 catches, but should have been 40 catches, 45 catches,
06:4750 catches should have gone up 36 catches, 36 catches, 479 and six touchdowns as a sophomore
06:57in his second season.
06:59That's where I'm at with Andre.
07:01Like, I think he's going to, that catch number is going to be 50, probably minimum.
07:05He's going to have 500 plus yards for the first time in his career, five touchdowns.
07:09And that, if he has 50 catches, he's probably going to have, if he averages what he's averaged
07:13over the past couple of years, 13 yards a catch, do the mat there.
07:17It's going to be significantly higher than that, that 10 yards per catch.
07:21And, and he'll be at that 650, 650 yard mark.
07:25And that's where I think this wide receiver three battle ends up Andre third in that wide
07:32receiver room and catches third in that receiver room in yards.
07:36And I get it.
07:37Mike is sick.
07:38He exists.
07:38And chase Brown is going to eat into that fine.
07:40But if this offense is good, there's going to be opportunities for Andre and he's going
07:45to matter.
07:45And that's what I would tell him because I get it.
07:48I understand everything that, that.
07:52The, the criticism, I understand the criticism.
07:54Some of it's fair.
07:56The BS nonsense in the DMS is not, it's cowardly and ridiculous.
08:02And yet I think moving past it is going to make him stronger and put him in position in
08:09a contract year to have a big year.
08:11So I believe in Andre Yosevich.
08:12I think he's going to have a big year.
08:13I think he's going to get paid next off season.
08:15I think that's, what's going to happen.
08:17And sometimes you have to go through some things.
08:19I remember Tyler Boyd in his second year, he's a healthy scratch and he wasn't playing
08:23much.
08:24He had 600 yards as a rookie.
08:26And I remember talking to him at his locker and he was like, look, I'm either going to,
08:30it's either going to work here or I'm going to go somewhere else.
08:33And then that's when I'll get paid.
08:35And that's when I'll, and he meant like, get paid, be productive, be a guy in this league
08:41and establish himself that way.
08:42And obviously he figured it out and was really productive in year three and year four and
08:45became a player that ended up catching 513 passes with the Bengals.
08:49Like he ended up mattering a ton and played in huge games and helped the Bengals get to
08:54Superbowl and an AFC championship game and all of the things that Tyler Boyd helped.
08:58But there was times of doubt and I think Andre probably doubted either doubted himself or
09:04read into some of the comments he was receiving time to move past that.
09:08And I think he's going to, I'll buy that Andre Yosef Ashton if you are selling it.
