00:00For people that are not so aware about Formula 1, but we have big necks because
00:03this is the muscle that is the toughest when when you drive a Formula 1 car.
00:08So you always have a problem at the neck with shirts.
00:12So we made sure everything was fitting properly.
00:16Hi Vanity Fair, I'm Charles Leclerc and I'm getting ready for the Cannes Festival.
00:20Come on in.
00:27Today we are in Cannes for the Festival de Cannes and I'm getting ready for the red carpet tonight.
00:34It's not my first time in Cannes, but it's my first time here for the Festival de Cannes.
00:38Growing up in Monaco, it's a huge event worldwide.
00:41I'm really excited.
00:43I mean, it's a very new experience to me, a lot to discover.
00:46I'm here with my wife Alexandra as well.
00:49She did the red carpet last year.
00:50I'm looking forward to it.
00:51I don't really know what to expect.
00:53I did one premiere, not in Festival de Cannes again, but for the F1 movie.
00:58It's a fully new world.
00:59I mean, I love watching movies.
01:00I don't know much about this world, actually.
01:02The world of Formula 1 is quite unique,
01:04but I'm sure that the world of movies and others are always super interesting
01:09and I'm very curious, so I'm looking forward to that.
01:12Mentally, there's some tension because I mean, I go a little bit into the unknown.
01:16I don't think there's a special mental preparation.
01:20It's just a bit out of my comfort zone, but I'm looking forward to that.
01:23The thing is that I'm always on the road, always on races, always on racing tracks,
01:28so not much time for free time.
01:29And the little free time I have, I spend it with my family,
01:33with my dog Leo that I miss today in Cannes, actually.
01:36Leo travels with us nearly everywhere.
01:38He's a superstar.
01:39I'm sure he could be invited to the Cannes Festival one day.
01:44Has there ever been a dog walking the red carpet in Cannes Festival?
01:47Maybe he could be the first dog to walk the red carpet.
01:49Oh my God, I would love that.
01:51I mean, I don't even know what the red carpet looks like,
01:53but if it's a big red carpet, I'll bring a toy.
01:56He will have the time of his life.
01:58The look tonight is actually a Giorgio Armani look.
02:00It's a suit.
02:01I just need to feel myself.
02:03Whenever I wear something, that's where I feel the best,
02:05and that's where it looks most authentic.
02:07And authenticity is important for me.
02:10Since Sarah this morning, Steph, I keep saying that my hair is perfect.
02:15It is, completely perfect.
02:18No, no, no, no, you are being too nice.
02:20You made it look perfect.
02:22I just textured a little bit of hair.
02:24But I like it actually, they're quite messy.
02:27So that's why it has a messy look.
02:29Helmet hair.
02:30If only it was that easy.
02:32Just put a helmet and take it off.
02:35I like having the hair looking natural,
02:38but staying structured the way I place them.
02:41Which is quite a difficult task.
02:54Hello again.
02:56You guys are still here.
02:58There's something missing.
02:59Can I have the missing part, please?
03:02Here it is.
03:04Look at that.
03:05Full Giorgio Armani look.
03:07Timeless.
03:08It's beautiful.
03:10I love it.
03:11And I feel good in it.
03:12Last touch of the golden palm.
03:15And then we made the fit custom.
03:17Because it's always kind of tricky for people that are not so aware about Formula One.
03:21But we have big necks.
03:22Because this is the muscle that is the toughest when you drive a Formula One car.
03:27So you always have a problem at the neck with shirts.
03:32And so we made sure everything was fitting properly.
03:35I will describe my fashion style in minimalist but elevated.
03:40And then whatever makes me feel good.
03:42When I feel good, that's where I feel just most myself.
03:45When things just flow and where I feel most authentic.
03:49What do I do before going to a big event?
03:51I don't know.
03:51Just check my hair.
03:52Making sure that this looks sleek.
03:54I don't want to have a picture with crazy hair.
03:57That's it really.
03:58And then again.
03:59Just being myself.
04:00Smile.
04:01Enjoy the moment.
04:02I feel like the more you get out of your comfort zone.
04:04The most at ease you are with the unexpected.
04:07Thank you Vanity Fair for getting ready with me.
04:10I'm now ready.
04:11And I need to go to the Premiere.
04:15Bye bye.
04:27Bye bye.
04:28Bye bye.
04:28Bye bye.
04:31Bye bye.
04:32Bye bye.
