00:00Let's flip it over to Major League Baseball.
00:01Tom, if I were to ask you this question,
00:03which would be easier for Otani to win this season,
00:06the Cy Young or the MVP?
00:09You probably said the MVP, dude's going to hit 50 home runs,
00:11nobody's better than him.
00:12He's been nothing short of filthy on the mound,
00:14which includes a .82 ERA currently.
00:17Now, also in the Couchie marketplace,
00:20can he win the Cy Young and the MVP?
00:23It's only at a 19% chance here.
00:25Struggling a bit at the plate, Tom.
00:26What are we thinking about Cy Young and MVP campaign?
00:31You know, I say this before Memorial Day.
00:33I say that's kind of crazy.
00:35But if you were to tell me six months from now
00:37that it's actually in play, I'm not going to be entirely shocked.
00:39You know, what he's done at the plate work
00:41has lacked to do with the plate so far this season
00:43is obviously very notable.
00:45But there's really also no one else in the NL
00:48that's jumping out to really challenge him.
00:50Like Acuna's hurt.
00:51Tatis is doing nothing when it comes to power.
00:53PCA isn't having the same year he did last year.
00:55The Cy Young market in the NL is really, really competitive.
00:59Skeens, after that disastrous first start,
01:01which wasn't his fault, has been lights out.
01:03Chris Sanchez has been unbelievable.
01:06Imanaga for the Cubs has been unbelievable as well.
01:08So there's far more competition when it comes to the Cy Young market.
01:11There's really no one challenging him when it comes to the MVP,
01:14even though he hasn't been amazing.
01:18It's a lot of baseball still to be played here, Tom.
01:22But there are certainly some rookies in the American League,
01:25especially, that are making differences for their teams.
01:29But it's kind of now, it looks like a three-horse race here at this point.
01:34And we all know how this market goes, though, Tom.
01:37A couple of these guys, you know, for two weeks get hot,
01:40and all of a sudden, you know, they go from in the 30-cent range
01:44to the 50-cent range in a hurry here.
01:46That could certainly be the case with Murakami for the White Sox.
01:50Listen, if you are a rookie and you are challenging for the lead league
01:54in home runs, that's got to be, like, that has something to say for.
01:58The one thing I would hold, I would have a little bit of reservation
02:00is with McGonagall, the Tigers are struggling right now.
02:03There's no doubt about it.
02:05Scooble is her.
02:06They've fallen in the standings.
02:07If he somehow puts together a two- or three-week stretch
02:10where he can help push them towards the top of the standings,
02:13I think that has something to be said, that a rookie is powering the offense
02:17at the top of the line of when they are at their weakest.
02:19That will put him in the conversation.
02:21And I also would like to say if they can challenge, you know,
02:23for a playoff spot and or win a division,
02:25that would be slightly better than Murakami,
02:27but I still think Murakami has a very good chance.
02:30Tom, taking positions now on who's going to win the World Series
02:33on the Calci marketplace.
02:35And I ask you this question, too.
02:36We'll start with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
02:38Coming into the season, unbelievable talent,
02:40front line starting pitching, bullpen, and hitters,
02:41nobody's going to touch them.
02:43Now, they're down to 31%, basically 32% on Calci,
02:47which is still extremely high.
02:48But, Tom, they were trading in the mid-50s here
02:50when we all got started before the season,
02:52like that December-January era here.
02:54Is now the time to take the Dodgers at a discount?
02:57Or are you saying, you know what?
02:59They might be in a little bit of trouble,
03:00and I have my eyes on some other teams right now
03:02at some decent prices?
03:04Yeah, with this much season left to play,
03:07having a position on the Dodgers, I think is just,
03:10it's a bridge too far for me.
03:11If you aren't interested in the Braves at this point,
03:14you just haven't been paying attention to baseball.
03:16The Braves have to be on your short list.
03:18And now, the Cubs are awesome.
03:20The Braves are awesome.
03:21So, it's not as if the Dodgers have some super clean path
03:24to get to the World Series.
03:26Now, you could say, would you like to take a position on the Yankees?
03:28They have been playing amazing as late,
03:30but there's also really no one else in the AL
03:32that has been playing amazing that can challenge them.
03:34So, to me, at this point, the answer is the Braves.
03:36They are playing amazing.
03:38They're theoretically only getting healthier as the season goes on
03:41if they're playing this amazing,
03:42and they still have yet to get Acuna back in the lineup.
