01:57was forced to resign last week over the government's handling of multiple incidents involving straight drones crossing into Latvijan territory.
02:07The new Hungarian government has officially ended the state of emergency that was put in place during the 2020 COVID
02:14-19 pandemic by former Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
02:17The new Prime Minister Piedr Macar stated that the move represents a return to normality,
02:23arguing that the decree-based emergency rule was an outdated wartime method.
02:28The previous administration under Orban had repeatedly extended the measure,
02:32citing security and humanitarian risks following the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
02:38The European Parliament had long criticized the system as incompatible with European values.
02:43In a stark shift in foreign policy, Budapest has also summoned the Russian ambassador Evgeny Stanislavov,

03:43and said it is up to the EU to react and combat these practices.
03:47It's a torture and it's a physical and psychological harassment that could lead to a deep depression or suicide.
03:57And that's why we need really to react and to combat these practices.
04:03And these young citizens who gather one million signatures succeed to create awareness.
04:19The resolution, however, is non-binding and falls short of the EU-wide ban on conversion practices that advocates have

04:26When asked why the executive had not gone as far,
04:30Al-Abib admitted a lack of unanimity among member states.
