00:00This music doesn't get out of my head.
00:03Very few people know this, but the first person to record a rock'n'roll album in Portugal was a
00:09woman.
00:10In 1960, Zurita de Oliveira recorded O Bonitao da Rock.
00:15Now, with this documentary, Who's Afraid of Zurita de Oliveira?,
00:20Francesca Marvao traces her journey.
00:22A difficult task because there are very few images of her.
00:25The filmmaker drew on various testimonies and reenactments with actors.
00:55For the film, the director had several all-female artists and bands reinterpret various songs
01:01by Zurita de Oliveira, some of which had never been released before.
01:06The film didn't have many resources, we simply challenged, we were waiting for people to say yes.
01:16And then, how do I say this, it's a punk rock'n'roll.
01:22The film was able to give life, letters that were forgotten, that were never interpreted
01:28by Zurita, never recorded.
01:30And hearing what each artist did, I think I could even feel more and identify more with the
01:38cause of Zurita and what she wanted to say.
01:53The documentary had its world premiere at this year's Indie Lisboa Film Festival, which
01:58concluded on the 10th of May.
02:27The urban art Biennale 2026 is really an international show.
02:31We have 50 artists from 17 countries from three continents.
02:35And it's really showing street art, graffiti, urban art at its best.
02:40We have the car, installations like this behind me, which are sort of monumental, fossil mobility,
02:47which is covered from a Pompeii-like dust cover.
02:51Or we have the huge roof of Amparito, the writing on the roof of the Möllerhalle, which
02:58is really the biggest work in the show.
03:06We have a hotel in 1,527,000.
03:11Not back here is a 64,000.
03:11• Activity is amazing.
03:39I think that it's so dusty and it's so old and but it's beautiful you know there's there's a
03:47there's beauty in decay and I think what I've done makes you kind of just perceive it in a bit
03:52of a
03:52different way. It's like a nice place people walking around there are bees there are beautiful flowers
03:59but yeah we still remember the history and that's super important.
04:28A small green piece of paper
04:31whoever received it was told to report to a gymnasium to clarify their residency status
04:36but what followed changed the lives of thousands of people forever. On the 14th of May 1941 in Paris
04:44on orders from the SS and the Gestapo the French police arrested around 3,800 Jewish men
04:50and later deported them to camps. Today an exhibition at the French embassy in Berlin
04:56commemorates this first major roundup of Jews in occupied France and for the first time showed the
05:02faces of the victims.
05:03They all have a sense and above all they are our memory, our memory and maybe our future.
05:12This is an irrevocable evidence of what happened. I was six years old, I saw my father for the last
05:20last time and I am very happy to be at a certain age and be able to talk about what
05:27happened.
05:2898 photographs. For decades they were considered lost but in 2020 they were rediscovered. The man
05:36behind the camera, Harry Kroner, a Berlin photographer who through his father is himself of Jewish descent.
05:43Ironically he was assigned by a member of the SS and the head of the Gestapo's Jewish affairs unit to
05:49document the raid. But Kroner did not photograph the men as an anonymous mass but as human beings with faces
05:56and dignity.
05:57What we want as Claims Conference is to say that the memory is a very important part of the
06:06today's social and social life. And what we see here today are the beginnings of the
06:13history of history. And that's why we want to say that the memory is not something that is only in
06:18the past, but also that it is concerning today.
06:22The project aims to connect and strengthen European remembrance efforts.
06:27Lillian Reisfeld regularly speaks with students about her story.
06:31This gives the 91-year-old hope for a peaceful future for coming generations.
