00:00Max Fried has been sensational this year so far for those New York Yankees.
00:03That front-line pitching staff with Cam Slytler here and waiting for Garrett Cole to come back,
00:07it looks tremendous.
00:08Oh, if they can just stay healthy.
00:11Oh, no, Max Fried here, Joe.
00:13Max Fried above three ERA exiting today with an apparent injury.
00:18Whenever you hear that, Joe, what comes to mind?
00:20Ouch.
00:22Yeah, not good.
00:23But the good news is that they've already got Rodon back,
00:26and I believe that Cole will be a couple of weeks away.
00:31So if it's got to happen, I guess, okay, just make sure he's available by the time we get to
00:37September.
00:38That's all I care about.
00:40Let's hear from the pitcher himself while I'm getting exiting from the game with an injury.
00:44Go ahead.
00:44Max, can you just describe what you were feeling in your elbow that caused you to come out of the
00:48game?
00:51Yeah, I would say it's hard to completely explain, but just kind of just whether it's like a hyperextended
01:03or just like banged kind of that back of the elbow, the tricep area, just a little uncomfortable tight,
01:13especially in between innings.
01:14It's hard for me to kind of warm up, loosen up.
01:16The first hitter of the inning would be like 88, 90, 91, and by the end, you know,
01:21fourth, fifth hitter, 20 pitches in, I'm able to kind of get things loosened up.
01:25But it just wasn't sharp, and it was just hard to kind of keep bouncing back
01:32and, you know, definitely wasn't helping the team.
01:36And just at a certain point we would just say, hey, like, you know, I could have kept pitching,
01:43but it just, you know, at that point it was just like, hey, let's make sure that we can kind
01:46of calm this thing down
01:47and, you know, try to get ahead of it.
01:50Sure, here's a Godfather reference I want to use for this.
01:52Won't see him no more.
01:56No, no, no.
01:57He's trying to be nice about it.
01:58But listen, he hasn't really been right for a while now.
02:03Yeah, I mean, it's one thing when the Yankees are scoring 12 runs for him,
02:06but, I mean, they put up a giant goose egg again yesterday, so not good there.
02:11But I got to tell you, everyone else is leveled up.
02:14Weathers, Warren, you know, Rodon will get the rust off.
02:17He'll be fact.
02:18And, you know, they'll be fine as long as it's not, oh, I don't know,
02:23he's out for the year type of thing.
02:24I think they'll be good.
