00:16The talks apparently were, quote, great, according to President Trump, with Xi Jinping.
00:21We think he's still in the temple of heaven right now. We may hear from him later.
00:25Let's get the latest now, though. Let's go to Beijing.
00:28Bloomberg's China correspondent, Mimin Lo, is there.
00:31Mimin, bring us the latest.
00:36Yeah, the two men were sequestered in the Great Hall of the People for a couple of hours this morning.
00:41And we got some updates from the Chinese state media, Xinhua, in terms of the messaging that China has sent
00:47to the U.S.
00:48First and foremost is Taiwan. It's not even a trade.
00:52And Iran didn't even get a mention on the Chinese radar.
00:55We know the two men did discuss the Middle East and Ukraine, but it seems like both sides are downplaying
01:00the Iran issue here.
01:02But Taiwan, that was the main focus of the Chinese state media readout and really wanting the U.S.
01:07to exercise utmost caution when it comes to this arms deal with Taiwan and warning that if it is mishandled,
01:15it could push U.S.-China relations to dangerous territory.
01:19And it's interesting when you look at President Trump and his reaction when reporters were asking him how the talks
01:24went.
01:24He said it was great.
01:25Reporters asked what his comments were on Taiwan.
01:28He sidestepped the question, possibly really trying to avoid anything that could embarrass President Xi here on this landmark trip
01:36to Beijing.
01:37And in the opening remarks, we really saw President Xi, you know, with the tiny smile on his face throughout.
01:44And, you know, President Xi always has a very stern face.
01:46That is a very sort of rare display of this effusiveness between the two men, right?
01:51President Trump effusive in his praise of President Xi, saying that they both used to call each other very often
01:58and that the future is fantastic.
02:00So a lot of positivity and constructive tone from both sides this morning.
