00:00Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today slammed Norway's decision to revoke the export license for the naval strike missile system and
00:09its associated launcher systems, describing it as unacceptable.
00:14In a strongly worded statement on X, Anwar said Malaysia had faithfully honored every obligation under the contract since 2018.
00:24He said Norway, however, has not felt compelled to extend the same courtesy and demonstration of good faith.
00:32He added that signed contracts were solemn instruments, not confetti to be scattered in so capricious a manner.
00:40He said if European defense suppliers reserve the right to renege with impunity, their value as strategic partners flies out
00:48the window.
00:49Anwar also said he had made it plain to his Norwegian counterpart, Jonas Garstor, that the decision to revoke the
00:57license would have grave consequences for Malaysia's defense operational readiness and the literal combat ship modernization program.
