00:01This budget has been touted as the young people's budget so naturally there was a
00:06bit of pressure for it to actually deliver for young people and when I went out to sort
00:10of ask people how they felt it was interesting because a lot of people didn't actually know
00:14what was in the budget and to be fair it was the morning after so you know you got to
00:18give
00:19a bit of a grace period and I'm sure a lot of adults would be the same but once we
00:23sort
00:23of gave them the time to have a look at the winners and losers and come back the conversation
00:28was really rich and the responses were a bit mixed so some people were really happy to
00:34see changes to tax for property investors and for family trusts others were a bit upset to
00:40see funding cut for things like the NDIS but I'll let them speak for themselves.
00:45There's definitely some steps in the right direction but you know cuts to things like
00:48you know environmental things and with the changes to NDIS that's going to devastate a
00:55lot of people and years from now we're feeling effects from that.
00:58I guess it's good people who have heaps of properties they're putting these boundaries
01:03in place so that they're not making billions and billions and people don't have a place
01:08to live you know.
01:09Yeah I think housing is definitely a big one that comes up at home a lot like my dad's
01:13made a whole plan to put extensions on the house because he doesn't think that we're
01:17going to like me and my siblings are going to be able to move out.
01:19I think it's good for young Australians especially because I think before it might have benefited
01:24the elders a bit more.
01:26There's a bit of a burden on the younger generation because of the cost of living and I feel like
01:31the new regulations around the budget would help the younger generation in order to buy
01:37properties I guess when we're older.
01:39We're going to have such like a difficult time owning a house in the future and it's just going
01:44to keep surging from there.
01:45I mean the wages aren't really increasing with how much everything else is increasing
01:49so I feel like it's much harder for young people to save money as well especially in
01:53such a consumerist society.
01:56Broadly speaking there was this idea that it was all sort of headed in the right direction.
02:01There was a bit of concern when grandfathering was brought up this idea that you know their
02:06parents and grandparents might be able to benefit from things that they don't have access to
02:10anymore.
02:10So that did cause a bit of concern but for the most part as you probably saw in the boxes
02:16you know there's this idea that things are moving in the right direction, there's a step
02:20in the right direction but just how big that step sort of is was where people sort of had
02:25a yeah sort of disagreed.
02:28I am too tallista and fine.
02:29Alright
02:29.
