00:00What do you think are the likely cards that are played by the United States now that it looks like
00:05diplomacy is off the table, at least for the immediate future?
00:10To be honest, I don't think diplomacy is off the table.
00:13I think the only resolution here is going to be through diplomatic measures because Iran has shown its resiliency, its
00:19capability to really outlast the United States.
00:21There was a United States intelligence report that was reported on last week that said that Iran has been able
00:28to reconstitute or at least salvage much of its missile capability.
00:32It obviously still has drones.
00:34It is still able to wreak damage by not allowing the global oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz, which
00:41is really desperately needed, particularly in Asia with repercussions around the world.
00:46So I think there must be a diplomatic resolution.
00:49I think the United States is actually in a weaker place than it was.
00:52It needs to be able to say, look, we're going to get rid of sanctions.
00:55And sanctions were in place in February before this war started in order to get Iran to the table regarding
01:02the actual the key issue here, which is what to do with those enriched uranium stores with that with that
01:10with that with that resource.
01:11And so I think the United States is going to continue to bargain because and continue to negotiate.
01:18But from an actually weaker, weaker, weaker point of view, because if the United States continues to bomb, it's even
01:25though there's been over 13000 strikes during this armed during this war, this armed conflict in Iran.
01:30And what else is it going to bomb?
01:32It really seems like it's going to be going after those things that are considered dual use targets, that there's
01:37controversy regarding whether or not those are even lawful because because of the disparate impact on civilians.
01:44But it does it seems like the civilians would be harmed more.
01:47But whether or not that's going to actually move the needle for the hardened Iranian regime members that are that
01:53are calling the shots now really is, I think, very speculative and improbable.
01:58So I think the United States is going to be forced to have to negotiate and to accept some things
02:02that it doesn't it doesn't want to accept.
02:04The narrative will be that the United States has won.
02:06But I think the United States is going to be in a weaker place vis-a-vis Iran than it
02:10was before.
02:11The United States is going to be in a weaker place vis-a-vis Iran than it was before.
