00:00The following program contains medical procedures and treatments involving dermatology. Viewer discretion is advised.
00:07Tonight on Dr. Pimple Popper, Breaking Out.
00:10For my 40th birthday, I was like, I'm going to get my ears pierced. Went in for piercings, came out
00:14with balls.
00:16Ball sweat is a perfect way to describe the smell. I'm constantly like...
00:21My fear is that this paralyzes my arm.
00:25What if it keeps on growing?
00:28I got this knot on my neck. It's getting bigger. I guess I'm kind of scared. And I don't like
00:33scared.
00:35Through most of my career, I've hated treating keloids because I know that they're likely to come back.
00:41There are these areas called danger triangles.
00:44You know what you're doing?
00:46Don't squeeze it too hard for me, okay? I'm standing here.
00:49Watch out!
00:51Once I remove it, it's not like I can put it back.
01:10I'm Gina. I'm 45.
01:12And I have these balls on my ears.
01:21The one on my right ear, it's the larger one.
01:25And this is why I call them the balls, because they have a split in there.
01:30And then the left is a little smaller, about the size of a walnut.
01:35This one is hard through and through.
01:36I feel like I'm the weirdo with the balls.
01:40Yes.
01:44For my 40th birthday, I was like, I'm going to get my ears pierced.
01:48And a year later, my right earlobe just started kind of itching.
01:52And then a bump appeared.
01:54And then all hell broke loose.
01:57It grew so quickly.
01:59So, went in for piercings, came out with balls.
02:03I even went to a dermatologist.
02:05And they were the ones that kind of identified it as the keloid.
02:08I let them lop off a little bit.
02:10But after that, it came back with a vengeance.
02:15Years later, I didn't have anything wrong with my left ear.
02:18But one morning, woke up and found myself itching it.
02:21And I was like, oh my God.
02:23And within six months, it was this.
02:31My balls do not have a pleasant smell.
02:34Ball sweat is a perfect way to describe the smell.
02:38Sweat just kind of just gets back there.
02:40So, I'm constantly like.
02:43I have a cleaning routine.
02:45I get my soap and I get in between them.
02:47Literally, I have a towel that I kind of floss them with.
02:49And then I have these socks.
02:51They're black baby socks.
02:52And when you put these on and then you let the hair kind of cascade over it, it kind of
02:57hides it.
02:58But I'm a girly girl.
02:59And I like changing my hair.
03:01But I can't do that with my balls.
03:04Now, I avoid people like the plague.
03:07I don't date.
03:09Because guys don't want to date women with balls, you know.
03:11And I work from home.
03:13I'm in finance.
03:14I do not turn my camera on.
03:17I used to be a manager, a people manager.
03:19And I just want to get back there.
03:21But it's easier to hibernate because of my ears.
03:35Ma'am.
03:37Girl.
03:38What the hell are you doing?
03:39Why do you get that laundry bag in your hand?
03:41No, ma'am.
03:42Now, you already know.
03:42We want to make this drink.
03:44We want to go out tonight, Gigi.
03:45No, ma'am.
03:46Why is it a no, ma'am?
03:47No, ma'am.
03:49Because I don't feel like.
03:51Listen, I'm pouring this drink right now.
03:53Girl, I'm pouring.
03:53You just poured a drink.
03:54Well, when we're going out, we're going to karaoke, we're going to get our dance on.
03:58I'm going to go right over there to the couch.
04:02True that.
04:03No.
04:04I'm going to go out, Gigi.
04:06I'm tired.
04:07I'm going to go out here and then go right over there.
04:10Remember when we used to go out all the time?
04:12I hear you.
04:13And karaoke was our thing?
04:15We go out, we karaoke, we go to the festivals, and we just have a damn good time.
04:23It literally, like, I spend 10 minutes on just these.
04:26I just, I'm just not in the mood.
04:28I know.
04:28But you still got to live your life.
04:31Karen and I have been roommates for six months, but I've been knowing Karen for 19 years.
04:38Karen and I both started the divorce process around the same time.
04:42Karen and I'm blessed to have her as my support system.
04:45Karen and I'm trying to get you back out there, but I feel like you are closeting yourself because the
04:53balls is hindering you.
04:57I want a date, but this takes a hit on me.
05:00I'm not even going to lie.
05:00But I dated one guy, and we were in the process of breaking up, and he literally was like, forget
05:06you and your balls.
05:09Forget him.
05:11You just going to stay in the house for the rest of your life?
05:15Where's that Gina?
05:17Like, I miss that carefree Gina.
05:20I am terrified of getting this done, you know, going out there and being great, and then these things grow
05:25back.
05:25Like, that's a real fear because I've lived that.
05:28I'm literally having no control of that.
05:29I'm going to try again, and this time when we try again, we're going to get it rectified, right?
05:34Promise me that you're going to look into this one more time, and you're going to check one more doctor.
05:42You've got to promise me that.
05:45Okay.
05:46I promise you.
05:47Pinky, don't play with me before I break it.
05:50Ow!
05:51My nail already goes.
05:53I feel like I've isolated myself from the world.
05:56I want to go to Dr. Lee because she's more knowledgeable about this versus the dermatologist I went to.
06:03But I don't want to go through this just to be back where I am.
06:07That truly is my biggest fear.
06:20It's really a funny thing when our bumps grow and look like other things, and they remind you of other
06:27things.
06:27I mean, oftentimes bumps can look like strawberries, or can look like lemons, or can look like cheese curd, or
06:33sometimes it looks like you have an extra arm on your body, or an extra other appendage.
06:38But I also understand when something looks a little too much like a body part.
06:42People can't focus on other things.
06:44They're looking at you, but they're looking at this other bump, and they're thinking about how it looks like another
06:48body part.
06:49That is something that causes a lot of stress.
07:05Dr. Lee will be right in, okay?
07:07Okay.
07:16Hi.
07:18Hi.
07:18How are you?
07:19I'm Dr. Lee.
07:20I'm Gina.
07:21Nice to meet you, Gina.
07:22Where are you from?
07:23Did you come from Park?
07:25Uh, yes.
07:25I'm from Stone Mountain, Georgia.
07:27It's a suburb of Atlanta, so yeah.
07:29Wonderful.
07:30You look pretty darn perfect.
07:31I mean, I don't even know why you're here.
07:33What's going on?
07:35I call them my balls.
07:36They're on my ears.
07:37You're on my ears.
07:37They're on my ears.
07:37Maybe you shouldn't say that too much, though.
07:40Well, it's the story behind that.
07:42How cute.
07:42Are those socks?
07:43These are socks.
07:44Those little ankle socks.
07:45Actually, they're baby socks.
07:46Okay.
07:46I see.
07:47Can I see the other side, too?
07:48Yeah, this is called her big mama.
07:50Oh, that's the big mama.
07:51You were hiding from me.
07:52Yeah.
07:53Gosh.
07:54Those look heavy.
07:56They are.
07:56Oh, my gosh.
07:57Yeah.
07:58Let me see.
07:58Yeah.
08:00How long have you had them?
08:01It's been five years.
08:02My 40th birthday.
08:03I went to get my ears pierced.
08:04You grew kind of fat on your 40th birthday.
08:07Surprise, surprise.
08:08This one came probably about six months after the first piercing.
08:11This one actually just came probably in the last two years.
08:14I've actually went to a local doctor, and they removed the excess skin.
08:18And then it started growing back, and it came with a vengeance.
08:22It's my story.
08:23Okay.
08:23Do you know what you have?
08:24They ID'd them as keloids.
08:26Yes, they're likely our keloids.
08:29But let me take a closer look at them.
08:31Okay.
08:33I mean, this one on the back is really stuck to you.
08:36Yeah, that one is a lot more hard.
08:38That one has an attitude of its own.
08:40I don't know, you know?
08:41Yeah.
08:41He's, like, feels the harder ones are, like, probably more active here.
08:45Let me see this side.
08:50This one is really pulling down on you.
08:52Tell me about it.
08:55It's almost like they fit like Tetris.
08:57Like, they're meant to be together, these two keloid balls.
09:01And I can see the scarring where they remove the skin.
09:03These must have grown back a lot.
09:05It's almost kind of pulled on your cheek here itself.
09:08So we got to try to recreate your ear lobe.
09:12I have faith in you, sorry.
09:13We're trying our best.
09:14Keloids happen when there's trauma to the skin.
09:17A surgery is trauma, so that can cause a keloid to grow back.
09:21And now the scar is bigger, so the keloid comes back larger.
09:24So keloids are caused by the way in which you try to get rid of them.
09:31If you try to cut them off, that is trauma.
09:35So through most of my career, I've hated treating keloids
09:39because I know that they're likely to come back.
09:42And I just stay away from them.
09:52I've certainly seen people that have had their keloids removed,
09:55and they come back twice as big.
09:57Because, like, say you remove something that's like this big,
10:00and you cut it out, you have to create a scar that's sometimes this long.
10:03Now the keloid can grow this big because the scar line is longer, right?
10:07I'm here with Gina, who has some really giant keloids on her ears.
10:11Her keloids came back with a vengeance after her previous surgery.
10:14The risk in trying to remove these is that it can create additional trauma,
10:18and that can cause them to grow back bigger.
10:21I want to help Gina, but I also want my patients to be really aware of all the risks
10:25before I agree to do a procedure on them.
10:27There are some other things that we may be able to try
10:31that I think has a very good chance to make these not come back.
10:36But right now...
10:36Shall we try to take them off?
10:38Can we please?
10:39Yes, of course.
10:40You have balls, but you don't need to show that you have balls.
10:42No, I don't.
10:43Not that way.
10:44Yes.
10:45I'll be back in just a little bit.
10:47Thank you, Dr. Wang.
10:48Of course.
10:48I'll see you soon, okay?
10:53I've had this one removed before, and it came back to...
10:56I'm just trying to be positive about it, but I'm human, so I'm terrified.
11:08A little baby pinch, you might feel a baby pinch.
11:10First, I need to lop off these massive balls,
11:13but I'm also trying to evaluate where the regular skin is
11:16so that I can make sure that I have enough left
11:18to be able to make this look as much like an earlobe as I can.
11:22Most importantly, I'm trying to minimize the scarring
11:24because the more incisions I make, the wider incisions I make,
11:28the more chance that a key lid can come back, and even bigger.
11:32Turn your head towards me a little bit more.
11:33Yeah, just like that.
11:34A little bit more, because you're going to see the front.
11:36I'm starting with the front.
11:37Okay.
11:37Just make sure nothing hurts.
11:42I'm just trying to take off a little bit of the skin on top
11:45that I can use to try to reshape your earlobe.
11:49So I'm just trying to preserve the skin here on top.
11:54Just get most of this off now.
12:00It actually feels lighter.
12:02Yeah.
12:03And see how I took off a little extra just so I could play with it a little bit.
12:08So far so good.
12:09The bulky parts of the keloids are coming off in nice chunks.
12:13I want to only take as much skin as I need
12:15in order to have the smallest possible scar damage.
12:18And I need to be careful because the keloids on this side
12:21are really complex.
12:22And as I get closer to shaping the ears,
12:24things can get more challenging.
12:26My main issue is this is her cheek here.
12:29So I was going to trim that.
12:32I just want to double check because once I remove it,
12:34it's not like I can put it back.
12:44Oh, pretty good.
12:47This is the time where I'm going to work on fitting it all together.
12:50But it's really challenging because it's like a complex circular 3D puzzle.
12:54One that has to end up looking like Gina's real ear.
12:57This is going to take a lot of patience.
13:01You're doing great.
13:05This definitely is a challenge.
13:11Done.
13:12We're going to do the other side, okay?
13:14I always start with a harder procedure.
13:17And so now I'm moving to Gina's left ear.
13:19This side is smaller and hopefully is going to be easier
13:22to try to match to the first side.
13:28Oh, this one's way easier than that side.
13:32The thing that complicated that was the fact that it was on your side of your face.
13:37The left keloid is proving to be a lot more straightforward.
13:41There's always going to be some tiny blood vessels there,
13:43but I'm actually able to zap them pretty quickly with my cauterizer.
13:48Now my concentration is really set on recreating a beautiful earlobe.
14:00We're done here.
14:02Your balls are gone.
14:04Can you do this?
14:06No balls are blocking you on the head.
14:09Take a look in the mirror.
14:17I'm going to cry.
14:18I feel so amazing seeing them gone.
14:21I feel lighter.
14:23The weight just literally lifted off my heart.
14:27Give me a hug.
14:29See, anybody can hug you now without having the earlobe in the way.
14:33No balls in the way.
14:34But my biggest fear is having a life without them and then they grow back.
14:40There's still a huge weight on my chest.
14:43We're going to try something else additionally that I think has a very good chance to make these not come
14:49back.
14:50And that would be something called radiation or superficial radiation.
14:54SRT, okay?
14:56Okay.
14:56So you're going to meet my husband, Dr. Rebush.
14:58Okay.
14:58He's the one that handles the SRT machine.
15:01Give me a hug, honey.
15:02When she told me about radiation, I was like, hold up, wait a minute.
15:06This is Dr. Rebush.
15:07Hi.
15:08This is Gina.
15:09Of course I'm terrified this is radiation.
15:11If he misbeheaves, you better tell me.
15:12Yeah.
15:13I got my eyes on him, okay?
15:16SRT is going to help inhibit quickly growing cells.
15:20I'm sure the idea of radiation is scary for Gina, but my husband, Dr. Rebush, will be giving Gina her
15:25treatment today so she couldn't be in better hands.
15:30All right, you made it.
15:32Yay.
15:34The radiation was so simple, and that one major fear that I had of these growing back, it really alleviated
15:42that for me.
15:42I feel beautiful.
15:44I feel confident.
15:45It's just like, girl, where you been?
15:48I did.
15:49Dr. Lee gave me a second chance to be me, and I'm ready to take over the world.
15:56Let's go.
16:14Come on, Mom.
16:22Uh, Britt, could you help me?
16:24Hi.
16:24I'm Alondra.
16:25I'm 44 years old.
16:27My name's Brittney, and I am her daughter.
16:30Me and my mom own a flower shop, and I got this bump.
16:39It looks like the size of a hydrangea.
16:42I can see some veins.
16:45It feels squishy, and it looks really gross.
16:51Two years ago, I noticed this bump.
16:54It was about two inches, and in two years, it's this big.
17:00I was worried, why is this growing so fast?
17:02But I didn't go to the doctors because I'm scared.
17:05I'm scared of surgeries.
17:07Like, surgery is going wrong.
17:09I obviously did think it was cancer, and it's very worrisome that now it has grown so fast these past
17:18two years.
17:23When I lift something heavy, I feel like I'm losing mobility because I can even move my arm all the
17:31way up or to the back.
17:34So my real fear is that this bump paralyzes my arm, and it could affect the business.
17:43With this bump, I feel like self-conscious.
17:47My mom is less social.
17:50She doesn't go outside very much, and it's really sad to see.
17:56So now this bump is affecting my work.
18:00When customers come, I feel uncomfortable.
18:06Brittany, could you help me?
18:08Oh, yeah.
18:10Hello.
18:11Hello.
18:11How can I help you?
18:12So I'm looking to get a bouquet for my girlfriend.
18:15Pinks, reds, what's her favorite color?
18:17Oh, I want to give you more of the pink.
18:18We actually have this one ready.
18:20Okay, perfect.
18:21It's 50 Roses.
18:22Nice.
18:23Thank you so much.
18:24Thank you, too.
18:28Mom, you don't have to get it down by yourself.
18:30I can help you.
18:31I don't want you to get hurt.
18:32You didn't even greet him.
18:33I know.
18:35I'm embarrassed.
18:36Look at this, how it looks.
18:38I know, but do you remember, Mom?
18:40You used to always go deliver.
18:42When customers would come in, you would want to go out first to help them, to talk to them.
18:49I miss those days.
18:50I want you to have your confidence back.
18:53It's grown so big over the last two years, Mom.
18:57What if it keeps on growing?
18:59If it paralyzes your arm, that's scary.
19:02We need to find out what it is.
19:09Yeah, I guess.
19:13At this point, I really know that I need to see a doctor.
19:17The worst thing would be, like, I couldn't be able to work.
19:22That's my biggest fear.
19:33Oh my god, I'm nervous.
19:35I know.
19:36Hopefully, Dr. Lee's going to take care of you.
19:44Dr. Lee will be in shortly.
19:46Okay?
19:46You're welcome.
19:48I need to relax.
20:09hello hi guys how are you nice to meet you and you must be related Brittany nice to meet you
20:18welcome you guys what's going on you look pretty darn cute I saw maybe something on your back I
20:24know I had this huge bump okay okay how long have you had that for like two years okay just
20:32two
20:32years that's scary yeah I mean that's just fast fast growing so you've never seen anybody for it
20:37before no okay any problems with it or any pain or I'm just noticed that I'm losing my strange
20:45um when I lift heavy things your strength there right my strength okay but do you feel like you
20:52almost like every like every week you see it grow I mean for it to go two years only yeah
20:57I feel like
20:58it's growing fast right fast do you live with your mom I I live with her and I work with
21:03her we actually
21:04own a flower shop oh okay flowers and gifts is that a love of for both of you that you
21:09both love flowers
21:10or who got we both love flowers yes okay if you don't mind I'm gonna take a look okay yeah
21:16and see
21:17what you have there okay I'm going to have you make a movement here I just want you to pull
21:25back
21:26like you're doing a row yeah okay good and then relax again looks pretty good I thought I'm asking you
21:34to make movements cuz I'm trying to make sure it's not under the muscle it feels like a lipoma but
21:40it's
21:41just kind of interesting it's how could it be this big in like just two years maybe it's been a
21:45little
21:45longer did you have it during COVID uh after COVID yeah it was not there I mean maybe it was
21:52there but
21:52I didn't notice it okay so I will get a better idea whether this is a lipoma when I see
21:59it you
22:00know if I make a little small little incision first and see what what you have there okay okay let's
22:05do
22:06it flowers can grow fast sometimes and that's lovely but bumps growing fast not so lovely there is a
22:12possibility that something that grows more quickly could be cancerous it moves around though and
22:17there's no hard spot so I can at least try to remove it we'll see you soon okay okay thank
22:23you
22:26Dr. Lee did tell us that it was growing fast which is really strange I never had surgeries before so
22:36my
22:37biggest fear it's what's really inside of it go ahead and say bye to your mom but we'll be back
22:47soon
22:47okay bye mom love you thank you well it's together I know I'm gonna numb up a laundress bump and
22:57make a
22:57small incision I'm concerned that this bump is not a lipoma and if it is I'm always concerned that a
23:04bump
23:04like this can be stuck to that muscle that's underneath there because she's been complaining
23:08of some weakness in her arm let's see what we have here
23:20well this is a lipoma so that's good news I'm seeing now that a laundress bump is a lipoma
23:28not something more dangerous hopefully it just blooms right out of her smoothly like a beautiful
23:33flower and doesn't try to hide in the ground for me there's one area here that's stuck in
23:55this bump is stuck in there like a bunch of roots entangled in a pot that's too small this is
24:00turning into an angry nasty plant okay I'm gonna give this a little squeeze
24:10we got some of it to pop out I'm just trying to see if I can't convince the rest of
24:16it to join us
24:19come on little friend you don't want to be in her she's so cute and sweet I know it's tempting
24:24to stay
24:25here
24:28this is stuck
24:37I'm just trying to see if I can't convince the rest of it to join us come on little friend
24:45you
24:46don't want to be in her she's so cute and sweet I'm here with Alondra who has a hydrangea size
24:53lipoma
24:54on her shoulder I gave Alondra's lipoma a good squeeze and release some of it but there's still a
24:59lot of it left under there it's like this angry Venus flytrap lipoma but if I don't
25:04dig in and pull it all out it's just gonna grow back I'm gonna have to cut this off
25:16it's not without a little bit of a fight gotta make it worth it but we're getting it
25:26okay most of us off I'm not done yet almost done
25:43now we've definitely got everything okay I'm going to close it I ended up getting this Venus
25:51flytrap out of there and it ended up being a pretty flower lipoma just like I thought it would be
25:57I'm
25:58just gonna show you from this angle
26:03wow yeah looks good like a normal arm I can't believe I'm I'm just like in a dream
26:11it's gone number bumps I feel really why did I wait that long I'm so proud of you it's fine
26:19gone I have nothing to hide anymore with my customers with people it's gonna be her normal
26:28confident self I just feel so grateful for Dr. Lee because she's able to give that confidence and
26:36strength back and I'm just happy to have her own self
26:55that mountain scene is beautiful isn't it awesome it is you don't see that in Georgia I'm Craig 41
27:04I'm from Georgia I'm Sherry and I am Craig's mother I have a bump on my neck it just started
27:13growing now it's huge it's like this is a golf ball I'm playing in my neck it's big and round
27:22it hard
27:25Greg Fawcett I'm not I'm sorry mom I'm sorry
27:32I really started noticing about 15 16 years ago at first you know it was around the size of a
27:37dime
27:38and it stayed that way a long good time and I've always shrugged it off it's grown so much in
27:44the
27:44past couple of years but I don't go to the doctor I'm not one to admit weakness I guess
27:53I've named my bump Freddy sometimes I draw a smiley face on him
27:57he tries to not let it bother him but I don't joke about it too much when you have something
28:03that's not normal in your body it's scary well my mama's always been hard-headed about going to the
28:09doctors and I'm a mama's boy what mama says is what goes so I got to do it when she
28:15starts griping about it
28:17let me get the door for you I've been in the landscape business for 23 years and I've always
28:25worked with weed killers and it's come out that is it's caused cancer non-hodskins lymphoma I've got
28:34two girls and I love them to death I want to stay here for him he's a good father I
28:42have to be I have
28:43to be here for my girls go ahead and have a seat right there in the big chair please and
28:49dr. Lee will
28:49be right with you thank you you're welcome coming to dr. Lee because she's the best it's recently
28:55grown so big I can't keep ignoring it I guess I'm kind of scared and I don't like scared I
29:01don't do
29:01scared I ain't scared it scares me Jesus we just call on you right now that you would leave the
29:09doctor's hands father gotta face it get her done I'm dr. Lindsey I'm a board-certified dermatologist I've
29:33been practicing for about four years I am so excited to be coming back for more after working
29:39with dr. Lee I have this new amount of expertise I feel more confident and I'm able to tell patients
29:44yes I can do this and everybody's happy there you are how are you how are you it's nice to
29:52see you in
29:52the office I love dr. Lindsey she did a fantastic job tag teaming with me she used to be very
29:58dicey
29:58about cysts but these days she's been moving up to more advanced areas and starting to approach growth
30:03on her own and that's what we're going to do but with the twist it's on the neck I want
30:08her to take
30:09the wheel and a growth in a more risky area but with complex bumps like this I'm ready to help
30:14if
30:14needed how's it going the new office busy I've been venturing out a little bit I've excised larger
30:19growths on the scalp good well I have a patient for you and if you want to I'm gonna let
30:26you do this case
30:26but it's in an area that might be scary to people and I just want to show you the things
30:32that I like
30:33to do in this case to I feel make things very safe but mainly you're gonna be doing most of
30:38it
30:39perfect I think I'm ready okay let's go there's always some element of surprise with dr. Lee you
30:44know so right now I'm feeling a lot of pressure but I'm ready to just get my hands dirty and
30:49help
30:51patients oh hello guys there she is how are you I'm dr. Lee nice to meet you I got dr.
30:58Lindsey with
30:58me too how are you dermatologist I had to match up we could have to have two and two where
31:02are you
31:03from Georgia you didn't look like you're from around here oh how could you tell are you related
31:08yeah this is my mama okay nice to meet you mama what's going on you look pretty darn good I
31:14got
31:14a knot oh I see that his name is Freddie Freddie it's like Freddy Krueger yes it started off like
31:21the size of a lymph node and over the last five years it's gotten to what it is now okay
31:25never
31:26gone to a doctor nothing I don't know I don't have a clue I'm nervous I'm nervous what are you
31:31most
31:31nervous about uh non-hodgkins lymphoma lymph nodes yes okay let's take a look okay we're gonna take a
31:41look go ahead what do you got there any pain there if I press I think it's a cyst I
31:50don't think this is
31:51a lymph node I just don't because it's not really along the chain of lymph nodes they kind of come
31:57down
31:57like this so it's not cancer we won't know until we remove it but I highly doubt it right thank
32:03God
32:04that's yeah relieving yeah I can breathe a little bit better now good dr. Lindsey what are you thinking
32:10here what's your approach I'm thinking about the danger zone right but just sometimes it's scary
32:16because there are certain borders like maybe a muscle or a nerve or an artery that sort of show
32:22these little triangles you just need to proceed a little bit more with caution I think that this
32:27is a cyst but dr. Lindsey has good concerns about the area it really is going to be a great
32:34opportunity
32:34for her to take the lead here but I'll be here if she needs me she's going to help me
32:40with this that's
32:40okay you know what you're doing I do yeah because she does this and things like that and she does
32:46them
32:46well it's just yeah okay I'm gonna see you in a little bit all right all right all right thank
32:53y'all we're just praying that everything will go okay I gotta prepare for the worst and hope for the
32:59best a little pinch here in this area there is a triangle that some of the important vessels and
33:15nerves are more superficial to the surface closer to the skin which is why this is really good
33:20practice for dr. Lindsey so I do think that that's the cyst right there oh I'm worried about the
33:29sharpness of these yes I get it let me give you another that's really good instinct on dr. Lindsey's
33:36part so when you're going around a cyst like this with all these important nurse blood vessels and
33:41muscles you don't want to be using dissecting scissors that are really sharp at the points so
33:45she's switching to a much safer round tip surgical scissors so I'm just kind of tugging on it I feel
33:51like I need to work yeah here I usually don't so much undermine that I'd rather just like rupture it
34:04and then squeeze it out like just a little rupture in the middle and then like it actually is smaller
34:08so
34:08you can go all the way around it sure okay I understand that dr. Lindsey wants to remove this
34:15intact but since there's this danger triangle underneath I think it's best to not dissect it
34:21blindly what I think is important here is to really deflate to the cyst and make it smaller so that
34:26I can
34:26pull the pieces away and see underneath it and dissect this away from important structures underneath but
34:33first she has to make a hole in this bump just like right there just don't put too much pressure
34:39so
34:39it gets you I don't want it to get me you want to try to lift it up in a
34:45way watch out
34:56and you want to try to lift it up in a way because you just watch out you scared yourself
35:02yeah I know
35:03just like a garden hose if you make it a slit it's going to be more have more trajectory right
35:08that's
35:08true I'm here with my patient Craig who has a cyst on his neck and my protege Dr. Lindsey I'm
35:15guiding
35:15Dr. Lindsey as she takes the wheel on this surgery and I had her make a small incision so we
35:21can squeeze
35:21out the contents as safely as possible because this is an area where vital structures are closer to the
35:28skin so there's a higher chance of damaging the muscles and nerves in this area but of course the
35:33smaller the opening the faster any compressed liquid cyst contents can come out don't squeeze it too hard
35:39for me okay I'm standing here okay go under it like you're squeezing it up right a lot of times
35:46you'll see the sack then and then she'll wipe that a little top of it away a little bit see
35:55the sack
35:55yeah you want to push the whole thing out okay oh my god it's like he's got a boiled egg
36:10see there
36:12it goes that's what I want to see you can get all of it pulling it away is very safe
36:17you're taking it
36:17away from everything in there you know the triangle right Dr. Lindsey is doing a great job she's popped
36:24the cysts like a pro without getting squirted right now we need to try to get the entire sack out
36:29so the
36:30cysts can't grow back this is the big lesson I really want to teach her about safely removing growths
36:35around this danger triangle you got to lift the sack out of the body away from these muscles nerves or
36:40arteries and I'm sure this is pretty nerve-wracking for Dr. Lindsey but I really want to see that she
36:45can handle this calmly and of course I'm right there if need be yeah see look at how big it
36:51is there
36:56I'll get that fibrous tissue almost have it all
37:03oh that cyst is demolished yeah Freddie is gone freaking butchered huh praise you Jesus
37:10hallelujah she did a great job getting all of it she knew what she was doing she's just putting
37:16stitches in awesome Dr. Lindsey really did a great job and made this pimple popper proud she was able to
37:24get the entire cyst and sack wall out so won't grow back she officially ended Craig's nightmare with
37:30Freddie all right do you want to take a look what do you think where was it lord baby I'm
37:38so happy
37:38it's gone how you feel that's great I feel great I don't feel this mass on me anymore it's gone
37:49now
37:51I'm glad it's gone it's like almost like boiled egg in there oh my goodness but you can smell
37:57why did I not I don't know knowing that the bump was a cyst better than cancer better than cancer
38:07that's for sure I'm beyond lucky I'm blessed thank you okay and thank you mama I'm very proud that he
38:16reached out to get help in days to come I feel like it's gonna bring more joy into his life
38:21hallelujah to dr. Lee and dr. Lindsey bye-bye Freddie

38:35and now his neck looks so flat and beautiful
38:40I feel great dr. Lee and dr. Lindsey you ladies did a great job it has blessed us more than
38:48words can
38:48describe since Freddie got murdered no more nightmare on next street Craig is relieved that it was nothing
38:55more than a benign cyst now he gets to spend his days hanging out with his huge beautiful girls
39:01congrats Craig it's been three months since I saw Alondra and her shoulder has healed up so beautifully
