00:56The attack occurred at approximately 7.14 a.m., according to authorities.
01:01Investigators say the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Robert Walken, arrived at the store
01:06carrying a hammer and attempted to force his way inside by striking the locked entrance
01:11and demanding access.
01:13When he failed to get in, he turned to a vehicle parked outside and began smashing its windows.
01:18Surveillance footage shows the suspect wearing a yellow graphic t-shirt, black shorts, bright
01:24colored sneakers, and a backpack as he repeatedly vandalized the vehicle.
01:28Yasmin then stepped outside to assess the situation and confront him.
01:33At that point, the suspect approached her and struck her in the head with a hammer, causing
01:37her to collapse.
01:38He continued the assault, hitting her multiple times before fleeing the scene.
01:42Emergency responders from the Fort Myers Fire Department and Lee County EMS arrived shortly
01:48after the attack and attempted to provide life-saving assistance.
01:52However, Yasmin was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe head injuries.
01:57A co-worker who was inside the store during the attack later provided investigators with
02:02key details.
02:03Store owner Arif Ahmed Ashraf said the suspect had visited the store a few days earlier and
02:08became agitated after failing to withdraw money from an ATM.
02:11According to Ashraf, the man entered an incorrect pin, grew angry, and verbally confronted Yasmin
02:17before staff managed to calm him down.
02:19Authorities believe he returned Thursday morning and may have been looking for him.
02:23Police say the suspect may have a history of mental illness.
02:27Investigators are also examining whether he could be linked to an unsolved homicide reported
02:31several months earlier, although no formal connection has been confirmed.
02:35Following the attack, law enforcement launched a large-scale search operation in the surrounding
02:40area.
02:40As a precaution, three nearby schools were temporarily placed on lockdown.
02:45The suspect was later located about a mile from the store and taken into custody without
02:49incident.
02:50He has been charged with homicide and criminal mischief and is currently being held at the
02:54Lee County Jail.
02:56Yasmin Chandri was originally from Kushikali Union in Chandragansh Apazala of Luxembourg District.
03:01She had been living in Fort Myers with her two daughters, both university students, following
03:06her separation from her husband.
03:08She had recently moved from Miami and had been working at the store for about six months.
03:12She was also the sister of Saleh Amdine Monik, chairman of Kushikali Union Parashad in Luxembourg

03:25in Florida.
03:26Local residents described her as a hard-working and familiar presence at the store.
03:30Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing and a motive has not yet been officially
03:35established.
