A teenager accused of raining blows on influencer Amos Yee, 27 at an anime convention in Suntec Singapore has been charged with one count each of assault and being a public nuisance.

Bosco Chun Ho Wang, 18, who appeared in court via video link from Central Police Division on May 11, is said to have committed the offences at around 2pm on May 9.

00:03A cosplayer has been charged over the alleged assault of child sex offender Amos Yee
00:07at an anime convention in Singapore.
00:1018-year-old Bosco Chun Ho Wang, a Chinese national with Singapore PR,
00:15was accused of punching and kicking Yee at about 2.10pm on May 9th at the Suntec City Convention Centre.
00:22Along with shouting, these acts allegedly caused annoyance to the public.
00:27He faces a jail term for up to three years, a fine of up to $5,000 Singapore dollars,
00:33or both, if convicted, for voluntarily causing hurt.
00:37For committing public nuisance, he could be fined up to $2,000.
00:42Chun was allowed bail of $5,000, and the case was set for mention on June 2nd.
00:49Organisers of the Dojima Anime Convention said the altercation took place after Yee left the event grounds.
00:55They said Yee had been informed at the entrance that he was banned from attending
01:00and his ticket had been cancelled following public complaints over his planned appearance.
