00:02Students at some universities across the country at a standstill for days after being
00:07locked out of their learning management system Canvas last week when it was hit by a cyber
00:12incident.

00:14I thought someone was like Canvas is down.
00:16I was like oh for maintenance and someone was like no it's been hacked.
00:18And I was like what?
00:20I was like what do you mean it's been hacked?
00:22Some Adelaide University students say they couldn't complete their assignments.
00:26I do an elective that's online and we can't access any of our lectures, any of our work.
00:32And they're concerned about what information may have been accessed.
00:36If they could have the chance to like you know look into my private information my grades
00:39and stuff like I would not want that.
00:41Adelaide University didn't answer the ABC's repeated questioning but in a statement released
00:46Monday evening it said Canvas access had been restored.
00:51And in an earlier statement the university said that Canvas has advised there's no indication
00:55that government identifiers or financial information have been involved.
01:00Flinders University has also been affected but says it expects its system to be fully operational
01:05by Tuesday morning.
01:07The hacking issue comes after months of transition troubles for some students at Adelaide University
01:12as the institution navigates a major merger.
01:16It's just been really poorly managed from top to bottom and everyone's still kind of figuring
01:21out things from the merger and this just kind of adds to it.
01:24It's just like really disappointing.
