00:05As a whole I love what we've been doing throughout the course of the postseason expect us to keep
00:09doing it but again man it's it's a tough task every night against these starters. Again this
00:14game is totally different than game two you know we're not worried about Yamamoto I don't think
00:19he's pitching today so I hope he's not but it's it's totally different every single day. I'm
00:24trying to just go and do it like it is any other game obviously it's the World Series for my
00:28hometown team and it's awesome but I think for me it's very like sentimental and amazing but I
00:33think that's kind of something I'll look back on more and focus on and like really feel the feelings
00:38of it maybe when this is all done but I'm just trying to go to work and do well. You
00:42know we know
00:43Scherzer from years past and we have to know that he's going to come in and compete and make pitches
00:51and we got to have a good game plan and execute and play sound baseball and you know then everything
00:59will take care of itself. I respect absolutely respect playing in a World Series what that means
01:05and absolutely cherish cherish these opportunities so yeah when I get a chance to get the ball man this
01:11means everything. 11-4 Blue Jays in game one 5-1 Dodgers in game two when the series is tied
01:18at one
01:18the game three winner goes on to win the series 70 percent of the time and the Dodgers will put
01:23the
01:23ball in the hand to tie their glass now they got this dominant starting rotation he's got the most
01:28eye-popping power stuff of the bunch. He does six foot eight downhill with the power fastball curveball slider
01:33and I think that sinker will come into play as well as he will throw those four pitches but he
01:39gets
01:39downhill he creates that illusion of that fastball up and then the breaking ball right off of it is
01:45tough to hit. You might be asking why the boos for George Springer. Well Mo it's because Springer
01:50was a part of the 2017 Houston Astros. Yep and the Dodgers have been waiting. Dodger fans have been
01:56waiting for him to come back so you know his first appearance in a World Series since then. On a
02:01one-two
02:01Springer strikes out swinging. Bless now blows it by him at 98 and that gets the people out of
02:08those seats early. One thing that we've seen with last now in the postseason the starts that he's had
02:12he's come on especially in that first inning talk about adrenaline overload. One out nobody on now the
02:18left-handed hitting left fielder Nathan Lucas who's one for five so far in the series. Swing to the
02:24first pitch pops in the air left field side. Quique Hernandez running toward the wall
02:28right next to the wall he makes the catch and foul ground. About 15 feet beyond the netting down the
02:33left field line. Quique Hernandez secures out number two. Keeps the bags clear. Important any time for any pitcher. But
02:41especially when you have Vladimir Garo Jr. stepping in.
02:44Fly to right. Routine for Teoscar Hernandez. He has the read and he makes the catch. Tyler Glass now. Finishes
02:51a one-two-three first inning on just eight pitches. He puts up a zero.
02:57For Scherzer his fifth World Series start. He's done that with four different teams. The only player position player with
03:05more than that. You go back to Lonnie Smith's World Series appearances with five different teams in his career.
03:12Mad Max has completed his warm-up tosses now marching around the infield. Shohei Ohtani marching to the batter's box.
03:21That's broke down the right field line. It's a fair ball just inside the line. It takes one hop goal
03:27and it goes over the fence into the seats for an automatic double to leave things off.
03:32How important is it for teams early to make a statement? Well the Dodgers have the opportunity to make a
03:39statement right here. Max Scherzer when he was signed he goes look I'm here to win. So Ohtani immediately in
03:46the scoring position in a scoreless game three. Here's Mookie Betts. He kicks in the two-two. He's popped up.
03:53Vladdy moving back from first. Barger racing forward. Loses his cap and makes the grab right on top of the
03:59chalk.
03:59They rule it fair and Barger wisely gets it back in Andres Jimenez to keep Shohei Ohtani at second. That's
04:06a big first out for Max Scherzer but by no means out of the woods. Scoreless game bottom of the
04:11first with Ohtani on second. Freddie Freeman is up and the 1-1 is lifted high left side of the
04:17infield. Bernie Clement steps over the chalk angles back to fair territory on the grass. He reels it in. A
04:22one-handed catch off to his left and two outs in a row after giving up the Ohtani double two
04:27downs. Max Scherzer now an out of
04:29away from stranding that leadoff double. Connor on second two down three two pitch. Swing and a miss. Strike three.
04:36Scherzer bounces back off the leadoff double and caps off the inning with a curve to punch out Smith. Bo
04:41Bichette leads off the second for the Blue Jays. Game one of this World Series was his first action since
04:46September 6. Bichette swings and lines the ball down in center field. A base hit. Second hit of the playoffs
04:53for Bichette. Best swing we've seen so far.
04:56It was a little roller in game one. That was a patented Bichette line drive to dead center. These Blue
05:01Jays have just put pressure on pitchers from the jump throughout this postseason. Leadoff man again on again right here.
05:08Last has fallen behind both guys in this inning three and one. First. Oh boy. Everybody's confused. Marshall Stone is
05:18back. Bichette's wandered off at the base and he's out. Who thought it was ball four?
05:24I think we all thought it was ball four. But the home plate umpire Mark Wagner said strike two and
05:30so that was a live ball. Bichette is out. One away. I'm going to be honest. I have never seen
05:36that before. Very clearly that was out of the strike zone. You see the flinch from home plate umpire Mark
05:41Wagner. He didn't make the call. Dalton Varshow throws his bat and then he makes the call. I would be
05:47irate if I was John Schneider.
05:49Obviously we're in the second inning so you don't want to get too angry with the umpire but man oh
05:54man I have never seen that before. Another three two. That one's in the dirt. Let's wait. All right. Ball
06:01four. Dalton Varshow can go down to first. That's a great at bat from Dalton Varshow. He walked twice. He
06:06walked twice. Yeah. Alejandro Kirk to the plate. Varshow on first one out. Line drive. Right field base hit. Varshow
06:13making the turnaround second. He will head into third. Kirk stops at first and they got glass now cornered.
06:19here with one out in the top of the second inning. Now walk to Varshow is now on third base.
06:24Potential first run of the game and here's Addison Barger with the lefty slugger. Cut on and missed strike three.
06:30High heat for Glass now. His second K of the game. Two gone in the second inning. It does not
06:36get any easier. Yes Barger has popped but Ernie Clement has a red hot bat in elite bat control. And
06:43Clement lines it to center field. Pajas will hustle in and he's there to make the catch. He waited a
06:47moment to make sure he read it right.
06:49And he did. But Tyler Glass now put Blue Jays on the corners with one out but he stranded them
06:55both in a scoreless second inning. Two hits but two stranded for Toronto. Fifth World Series start tonight. And it's
07:02a treat for all of us that we get to watch Mad Max in World Series theater. Did give up
07:0719 home runs in the 17 starts during the regular season. And here's a Dodger who really needs to find
07:14it fast.
07:14To Oscar Hernandez. He's 0 for 7 in this World Series. He has struck out five times. Perhaps a little
07:22bit of a tough zone against him in game two. But he also hasn't helped himself as he has been
07:26chasing and flailing at pitches out of the zone.
07:29Hernandez four for his last 27. 148 batting average.
07:34Hernandez drills on left field. Forget about it. Dodger strikes first in a loud way.
07:42And the full experience of Teoscar Hernandez from one day to the next from a fourth strikeout game in game
07:50two to a home run to start the scoring in game three.
07:53Well, Max is going to want that pitch back. And I think he's going to want that pitch selection back.
07:57I thought a slider there would have been the better pitch on a guy who swings down below the zone.
08:02Curveball gives him a chance to catch up.
08:04What were you saying, Mo, about that home run problem for Scherzer?
08:08Did I say that he gave up some home runs? 19 during the regular season?
08:14But Teoscar Hernandez looking for the good swing. Had a good pitch. And he did both.
08:20Teams it out. Homer the opposition in these playoffs. 26 and 5.
08:25A couple of ground ball outs to start the third inning for Glassdown. Now Nathan Lucas.
08:29Dodger fans starting to wave those blue rally towels ahead of this 2-2. Two outs.
08:33Nobody on. 1-0 Dodgers in the third. The pitch. Got him swinging.
08:37The slider to sit down Lucas.
08:40A strikeout to complete. A 1-2-3 third for the right-hander.
08:43A shut down third at that. 1-0 Dodgers. Two and a half innings complete.
08:48Back to the top in Otani.
08:50Start of this game with a double. And in this postseason, really, it's that huge game for the championship series
08:55with the three home runs.
08:56There's 1-74 outside of that.
08:58Luches have done a good job against him. He did have the home run in game one, but inconsequential.
09:04Comes back in. It's lifted to deep right field. Towards the corner.
09:09Good bye!
09:10Otani goes deep.
09:12And the Dodgers leave game three on a pair of solo home runs. 2-0.
09:17He came inside and Otani went to where he's comfortable going right now.
09:21Well, he sped him up with the curveball. And what I mean by speeding up, he knows now a fastball
09:25is going to come and he's going to get the barrel of the bat as quick as he can to
09:28it.
09:29Away, he would not have done anything as we've just documented.
09:33But that's why Otani is pretty special.
09:36Postseason home run number seven for number 17.
09:402-0 Dodgers.
09:43Two outs.
09:43Space is clear.
09:44Freddie Freeman, the batter.
09:45The Dodgers on top two zip here in game number three.
09:49Scherzer's 3-1.
09:51Misses outside.
09:52Ball four.
09:53A two-out walk continues the third.
09:55Now we see some stirring in the Toronto right field bullpen.
09:59Two outs.
09:59Freddie Freeman on first.
10:01On a 2-2.
10:02Freeman runs.
10:03Scherzer misses outside.
10:04Ball three to throw down to second.
10:05The tag not in time.
10:07Freeman with a foot first slide.
10:09It was a wide pitch.
10:11Kirk did great work behind the plate to even make it close at second low.
10:15Well, Blue Jays may want to take a look at this.
10:17They are asking for headsets.
10:19It was a high tag from Bichette on the left shoulder of Freeman.
10:23And he might have got him.
10:24Freddie's left foot.
10:25Ball on the field was safe.
10:27Made at second base by Adam Hammery.
10:30After review, the ball on the field stands.
10:32The runner is safe.
10:46And they got him by a mile.
11:02Addison Barger with a rope to the plate.
11:05And that is how the third inning ends.
11:09Dodgers do get a run on the Otani home run.
11:12They had two hits.
11:13They leave one on thanks to Addison Barger's throw on the fly.
11:18And a good tag by Kirk to end the inning.
11:21Blue Jays had traffic in the second.
11:24Nothing in the first or third.
11:26They have two hits and a walk so far against Glasnow.
11:28Vladdy himself is 0 for 1.
11:30Check swing.
11:31Pitch in the dirt.
11:31Appeal to first.
11:32No swing says Allen Porter.
11:33And it's a leadoff.
11:34Walk a nice start to this inning.
11:36Vladimir Guerrero Jr. tossed his bat away.
11:38Looking at the dugout saying, let's go, let's go.
11:41As he trots down to first base.
11:43He's right.
11:43This offense has to get going here in this inning.
11:462-0 L.A.
11:47Vladdy leads off first year's Boba Shett, who's singled and then was controversially picked off in the second.
11:52Hit on the ground right side.
11:54Edmund has it go under his glove into right.
11:56Vladdy around second.
11:58And he will go into third on a Tommy Edmund miscue.
12:02That is an absolute gift from the Dodgers, from Tommy Edmund.
12:06And he was thinking turn and get that ball to second base before it was actually in his glove.
12:13What a miscue.
12:14A big base running choice from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. going first to third there.
12:21And we still have nobody out in this inning.
12:23And Tyler Glass now pick up Edmund in the defense.
12:26Scored E4.
12:26Now with runners on first and third and one out, Alejandro Kirk is up.
12:31He has the most recent Blue Jay hit in this game.
12:34A knock to right field in the second.
12:36Knocked in the Blue Jays' last run, their only run, in game two.
12:40With a sacrifice fly.
12:41Breaking ball to the left center field.
12:44Pajes going back.
12:45He's at the track.
12:46He's at the wall.
12:47And it's gone.
12:48Kirk has changed game three with a three-run shot.
12:53Three-run missile.
12:54Oh, Alejandro Kirk and the Blue Jays lead in the top of the fourth.
12:59Three to two.
13:00Blas now hanged it.
13:02Kirk banged the curveball out to center field.
13:05A 394-foot blast.
13:08It is really, really tough to wait back on a good breaking curveball
13:13when a pitcher throws 98 miles an hour at the top of the strike zone.
13:18What a swing from Alejandro Kirk, the biggest of his career.
13:21And Barger smokes a line at a right for a base hit.
13:25Absolutely tagged it as that slider hung.
13:28And Barger's on first with one out.
13:30Clement slices a ball.
13:31A little looper down the right field line.
13:33Fair ball.
13:34Barger around second.
13:35He easily gets into third.
13:38A little dunk there from Ernie Clement,
13:39who's now tied Vladimir Carrero Jr.
13:42with his 22nd hit, passing Paul Molitor
13:44for the most in a single postseason by a Blue Joe.
13:47Ernie on first.
13:48Barger on third.
13:49Third corners in middle back.
13:50Here's Andres Jimenez.
13:52And Jimenez hits it high.
13:54Center field in deep.
13:55Pias back to the warning track.
13:57He makes the catch.
13:58Barger tagging.
13:59He'll come home.
14:00Throw into second.
14:01Clement is safe.
14:02Tagging from first.
14:03Running to score to make it 4-2.
14:05And Ernie Clement gambles to get into scoring position.
14:08And it's 4-2.
14:09Blue Jays on a Jimenez sack fly.
14:11Mission accomplished for the Blue Jays.
14:13They've got the Dodgers starter out of the game in the fifth inning.
14:16Tyler Glasnow, who entered this game with a 0-6-8 in the postseason,
14:20meets his match against his Blue Jays offense.
14:23Dodger bullpen goes to work as Anthony Bonda replaces Tyler Glasnow.
14:27Lefty-lefty against Dalton Varshow.
14:28On a 1-1, Varshow pops it up on the infield.
14:32Right side, Mookie Betts is running over just right of the mound by about 10 feet.
14:36He makes the catch.
14:37And that ends the inning.
14:39So, the leadoff walk of Lucas is stranded by Bonda.
14:43Close to the book on last now in the top of the fifth inning.
14:47Well, Max, when he's been given four or more runs in his career.
14:50Talk about the lead.
14:52176-4.
14:53And his team is 194-24.
14:56That was good, too good, too good.
14:58He can't hit it hard up the middle.
15:00In his left center field for a leadoff base hit.
15:03They're trying to sneak a 95-mile-an-hour fastball right by him
15:06after having success with breaking balls away from him.
15:10And as Shohei Ohtani walks to the plate,
15:12John Schneider walks out of the Blue Jays' dugout.
15:15Max Scherzer talking right now, but he willingly hands the ball off
15:20in an admirable effort from Max Scherzer,
15:22who goes four-and-a-third, leaves with one out and a runner on.
15:25The first top of the order for the Dodgers.
15:27Mason Flewharty, the lefty, has brought in,
15:30and he really has one job in this World Series,
15:32to handle the Dodgers' big lefties of Ohtani and Betts.
15:36He has done that in his young career facing Shohei,
15:40who is 0-4-3 with three strikeouts against Flewharty.
15:44A broken ball has drilled the left center field, slicing towards the gap,
15:48and a flying track up against the wall.
15:51Hernandez headed home.
15:53There is no throw.
15:54It's a ringing double from Ohtani.
15:56His third extra base here of the game has made it 4-3.
16:00RBI double Shohei Ohtani.
16:02We got a one-run game in Game 3.
16:05And this game takes on a whole different flavor now,
16:08but remember the Dodgers in that first inning,
16:10with Ohtani at second base, the leadoff double,
16:13were not able to get the run in.
16:15Freddie Freeman, a 3-22 hitter in his career with runners in scoring position.
16:20That is third over the last 50 years.
16:23Tony Glynn, Rod Carew, Freddie Freeman.
16:25Looking for a base hit here to tie up Game 3.
16:28Freeman pulls it, fair ball down the line!
16:30Beyond a diving Guerrero!
16:33Ohtani's gonna score!
16:34We are tied at 4 here in Game 3!
16:39Freddie Freeman comes through!
16:41Well, we'll talk about the Dodger bullpen struggles.
16:44The Blue Jays span a concern for them as well.
16:47The Dodgers jump on Mason Flewharty,
16:49the two lefties that he's brought on to face.
16:52It's the top of the order for the Blue Jays.
16:54Comes up in the seventh, Justin Robleski's second inning of work.
16:57He's against George Springer.
16:59Springer hits it foul 0-1.
17:01George Springer a little bit shaken up on that swing.
17:03And for the second time in the playoffs,
17:05an opposing crowd is going to boo a potentially injured player.
17:08I'm wondering if he's grabbing his side.
17:11Looks like George Springer's coming out of this game straight away.
17:13He goes right down to the tunnel.
17:16My goodness.
17:17Bottom of the seventh inning here at Dodger Stadium.
17:19Blake Trinan, his first appearance of this fall classic.
17:22Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is the hitter.
17:24Poked up the middle of base hit into center field.
17:27Guerrero on for the first time, or rather second time in the game.
17:30His first hit.
17:31And the inning continues with two outs.
17:33And here comes Bo Bichette.
17:35This is why John Schneider has him in the lineup for situations like this.
17:39He's not going to try to do too much.
17:41He's just going to try to get something into the gap and score Vladimir Guerrero from first base.
17:47What a moment for him.
17:49It's a tough at-bat for Blake Trinan.
17:50But Bichette sprays it down the right field line.
17:52Fair ball.
17:53Ricochets off the sidewall in his shallow right.
17:56Vlade around second and third.
17:57He gets the wave.
17:58Teoscar Hernandez with the throw.
18:00Home.
18:02He's safe.
18:03Offline.
18:04And he reached the hand in.
18:06Smith had to field on the edge of the dirt circle.
18:09Worked back to home plate.
18:10But for now, they say he didn't beat Vlade to home.
18:14Will Dave Roberts challenge is the question.
18:17I mean, I'm pretty sure he was safe at home plate.
18:19What a slide from Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
18:21It's obvious.
18:22We're just, we're seeing the call now.
18:24It's a single for Bichette.
18:26And a 5-4 Blue Jay lead in the top of the seventh inning.
18:31Nobody on base.
18:32One out.
18:32Obviously, a lot of people would question if you pitch around Shohei Otani,
18:38why would you do that with one out, nobody on?
18:42You don't want to put the tying run on base.
18:43But, again, he's a unicorn.
18:45A lot like Aaron Judge.
18:46A lot like Cal Raleigh.
18:47Where he can miss hit a baseball and go deep and tie this ball game.
18:51You don't want to leave one fat over the heart of the plate.
18:54With that being said, I trust Sir Anthony Dominguez's stuff.
18:57That if he locates a fastball and locates that sweeper or split finger,
19:03he can get Shohei Otani out.
19:05It's just a matter of will he do that in this at-bat.
19:09Center cut fastball.
19:11Bless one and ties it.
19:14Shohei!
19:155-5.
19:17He is seven for his last seven at Dodger Stadium with five home runs.
19:24We're tied again in game three.
19:27Yep, Otani didn't have to hit a home run, but feel free if you want to, big guy.
19:32You want to hit it out?
19:33Who are we going to argue?
19:34And Otani is just the second player in the history of the World Series
19:39to come up with four extra base hits in one game.
19:44He ties it at five.
19:45I'm not sure what that meeting looked like between Pete Walker and Sir Anthony Dominguez,
19:50but I can guarantee it didn't say throw one down the middle.
19:52Young right-hander, the 23-year-old from Japan,
19:55and Roki Sasaki is in as the fifth reliever out of Dave Roberts' pen tonight.
20:02He comes in looking to keep this game where it is.
20:06It's 5-5 Blue Jays and Dodgers.
20:08Sasaki works with runners on first and second one out,
20:11and he'll take on Ty France after George Springer had to exit the game with an injury back in the
20:17seventh.
20:18Swings, hits it on the ground to third.
20:20Muncie scoops it.
20:20He's got one throw.
20:22He goes to first after a double clutch.
20:24He gets the out at first base.
20:26France is retired.
20:27The other two runners both advance.
20:29Now two in scoring position for Toronto.
20:31Second and third, two out.
20:34Nathan Lucas at the plate.
20:355-5 in the eighth.
20:36Ground ball right back to Sasaki in the glove.
20:39He runs the first, underhands to Freeman,
20:41and that's the final out of the eighth inning.
20:44What a play on the mound from Roki Sasaki.
20:48He needed every inch of those long limbs to sneer that line drive right back to him.
20:54Go ahead run now on first base for the Blue Jays.
20:57Dalton Varshow is the batter, and a dangerous one at that.
21:03Varshow rips it.
21:04Lined off the glove of Freddie Freeman.
21:05It bounces in to shallow right field.
21:07Edmond picks it up.
21:08Going for third kind of left of the throw.
21:10The tag.
21:11He's out.
21:14Tommy Edmond.
21:15What a play.
21:17He ran over to shallow right field.
21:20Slid on the grass to get the ball up and throwing.
21:23Kiner-Falepa gunned down, trying to get from first to third.
21:28The bottom of the ninth is coming up next.
21:30The Dodgers can win game three when we come back.
21:34And they are indeed going to intentionally walk Shohei Ohtani.
21:38So here's the other part of this scenario.
21:41You're going to take the bat out of his hands.
21:42Well, I just checked.
21:43Often during the regular season, there were nine attempted stolen bases.
21:48Seven of them were safe.
21:49They put the winning run on intentionally to face Mookie Betts, who is 0-4-4 with the strikeout tonight.
21:55He is 1-11 in the series.
21:57Hoffman to home.
21:58There goes Ohtani from first.
22:00Pitches a ball.
22:00Throw to second.
22:02Off the bag.
22:03He's out.
22:03Oh, Ohtani got there in time, but fell off the bag.
22:08IKF kept the tag, and the gamble by the Dodgers burns him.
22:12And I guess the only way to get Shohei Ohtani out tonight was to put him on base, and then
22:16you can get him out.
22:17What a crazy game Game 3 of the World Series has been.
22:21Lifted high down the right field line.
22:23Moving forward, Lucas.
22:25Moving back, Guerrero.
22:26Lucas into foul territory to make the catch, and this game isn't ending yet.
22:31Emmett Sheehan comes out of the Dodger bullpen.
22:34Both these managers are having to go to guys that they don't want to go to in a tight game
22:38like this,
22:38but they have no choice with the bullpens digging deep.
22:41Nathan Lucas is up now.
22:43They don't need him to knock in the runner on first and Schneider.
22:47Just pass the baton to Vladi behind him.
22:49And Lucas pulls it down the right field line.
22:51It's down into the corner.
22:52Fair ball.
22:53Kasker Hernandez digging one out.
22:55It's a green light for Schneider.
22:57Here's the relay home.
22:58Edmunds throw.
22:59Smith has it.
23:00The tag.
23:01He's out.
23:03Perfect relay.
23:06Teo, Tommy, Will out of the play.
23:10You do have to wonder how much fatigue is starting to set in for Hoffman.
23:14He's thrown 32 pitches across an inning and two-thirds.
23:18At the same time, I don't know how you can take him out here with the game on the line.
23:22Single could win it for L.A.
23:24Tommy Edmund is up.
23:25First and second.
23:26Two down.
23:27Hit off the fist.
23:28A pop-up to first.
23:29Vladi underneath it.
23:30Makes the grab.
23:31We go to the 11th.
23:33Jeff Gutsy from Jeff Hoffman.
23:36Two scoreless innings against the meat of the Dodgers' order.
23:39It's 5-5 in Game 3 of the World Series.
23:42Dalton Varshow, two for four with a walk.
23:45Those two hits are both singles.
23:46A ball and two strikes.
23:49And Sheehan finished the 11th.
23:50The pitch on the way.
23:52He struck him out.
23:54Pumped it by him at 97.
23:57One more time, the Dodgers can walk it off.
24:00And Brayden Fisher in one of the most difficult spots you can be in.
24:05He essentially cannot allow Freddie Freeman to hit a single or this game is over.
24:10A guy with 2,431 career regular season hits in an MVP.
24:15Hit high in the air.
24:17Left field.
24:17Strong.
24:18Circling under it.
24:19He makes the catch.
24:21Brayden Fisher with a big bottom of the 11th.
24:24And we're staying here all night.
24:26On to the 12th we go.
24:285-5 score.
24:30They're going to put Andre Cimenez on here.
24:32Here's another spot where the lack of George Springer looms massive.
24:37An intentional walk to the 9-hitter.
24:39Which you can watch a full season of baseball and never see happen.
24:43Yeah, I agree.
24:44And now this is going to be the first at-bat for David Schneider, who will replace Ty France.
24:49And he hits a swinging bunt to third.
24:51Waiting on it, Muncie.
24:53And an out is called at third.
24:55No way.
24:56Heinemann looked like he was clearly in.
24:58He's almost chuckling at the call at third.
25:01And the Blue Jays are going to challenge.
25:03I'll have to take a look.
25:04That look to me.
25:06Clearly safe.
25:07Yeah, he's safe.
25:07Clearly.
25:08That is going to do it for Emmitt Sheehan.
25:11And with the bases loaded in the 12th inning of a World Series game,
25:15Clayton Kershaw comes out of the Dodger bullpen.
25:19He has made 40 career postseason appearances.
25:23This will be his first in extra innings, if you can believe it.
25:27He inherits the bases loaded.
25:30Two outs in the top of the 12th.
25:32Game three tied at five.
25:34He'll face a left-handed hitting Nathan Lucas.
25:36This could be the last time you see Clayton Kershaw on a big lead mound.
25:41And the count goes full.
25:43Why wouldn't it?
25:44Every scenario wrapped in one game.
25:46Three-two.
25:47Bases loaded.
25:48Kershaw prepares for his eighth pitch to Nathan Lucas.
25:52Chopped to the right side of the infield.
25:53Edmond charging in.
25:54In the glove.
25:55Glove flip to Freeman.
25:56They got him in time.
25:58What a play by Tommy Edmond as Clayton Kershaw leaves them loaded.
26:05Tay Oscar Hernandez up with two outs and the bases empty.
26:09Lauer's pitch popped up.
26:10Back a second.
26:12I.K.F. on the grass.
26:13Calling for it.
26:14Makes the grab.
26:16Inning 13.
26:17Here we come.
26:185-5.
26:19Blue Jays and Dodgers.
26:21Game three of the World Series.
26:23Varshu on base.
26:24The potential go-ahead run.
26:26And he's got good speed, too.
26:27And a two-out hit batter.
26:29So here's Tyler Heinemann.
26:31This is the first played appearance of the postseason for Tyler Heinemann.
26:35A switch-hitting catcher.
26:36Swings at the first pitch.
26:37And he missed it.
26:38High in the air.
26:39Playable in left center for Pajes.
26:41He makes the catch.
26:42And that's all for the top of the 13th.
26:44Bottom of the 13th coming up.
26:46Bottom of the order coming up for the Dodgers.
26:49Zach Bunt to get the winning run 90 feet away with only one out.
26:54Roberts back into his bench.
26:56Alex Kahl will come up to hit.
26:59Popped up.
27:00Backing up Jimenez.
27:02He'll make the catch on the dirt.
27:04And there are two down.
27:06And you can almost guarantee that John Schneider is going to walk Otani.
27:10You look down there.
27:11He's already given those four fingers.
27:13No, I do it all day long.
27:14I don't care.
27:14John Schneider doesn't care if this crowd is booing.
27:16Now, it's not like you're bringing up a scrub.
27:19Mookie Betts just needs a base hit to win this marathon for the Dodgers.
27:25And interestingly, they're going to walk Betts.
27:28That's a bet.
27:29No pun intended on Lauer's command.
27:32And they'd rather go left on left with Freeman.
27:34It's a risk.
27:35But the Blue Jays are going to go for it.
27:37Bases loaded.
27:38Two outs in the 13th.
27:40Tied at five.
27:40Hit high.
27:43Center field.
27:44Varsho backpedaling onto the track.
27:47He makes the catch.
27:4914th inning coming up.
27:51The great escape by Eric Lauer.
27:545-5.
27:56Game three of the World Series.
27:58Enriquez has two outs in the 14th.
28:01Nobody on.
28:02Andres Jimenez, the number nine hitter.
28:04The flamethrowing righty needs but one more strike.
28:07And he got it.
28:09Swing and a miss on a slider.
28:10Low.
28:11Enriquez pitches a 1-2-3-14th to keep it 5-5.
28:16Game three.
28:18Dodgers and Blue Jays still waiting on a winner.
28:20Will Smith be the first one to try against Eric Lauer?
28:24And Smith hammers a ball deep into the Monday night.
28:29It is caught at the wall.
28:32Smith dropped the bat like he knew he got it.
28:35But it died on the warning track.
28:38Oh my goodness.
28:40Will Smith thought he got it.
28:42So did we.
28:44So did everybody in the stands.
28:45But it's out number one.
28:47Now Rojas tries to hit in Muncie from second.
28:51Two on, two out.
28:52On the ground at third.
28:53Clement ranges left.
28:54Bluffs.
28:55Throws across to first.
28:56On a bounce in time.
28:57How about 15 innings?
28:59We'll be back in a moment.
29:015-5 Blue Jays and Dodgers.
29:02The last man out of the Dodger bullpen is Will Kline.
29:065-5.
29:07Game three still tied in the 15th.
29:09Two outs.
29:10Guerrero in first.
29:11Kline.
29:11To Kiner-Falefa.
29:13It is strike three at the knees.
29:16Turned him into a statue with a fastball at 98.
29:2014-and-a-half innings are done.
29:23Will the bottom of the 15th be the finale?
29:26Four straight intentional walks issued by Toronto to Otani,
29:30who has reached eight times, all eight times tonight.
29:35Double homer.
29:36Double homer.
29:37Intentional walk.
29:38Intentional walk.
29:39Intentional walk.
29:39Intentional walk.
29:40You get the idea.
29:41Two outs.
29:43Bottom of the 15th and a runner on first.
29:46Freddie Freeman up to the plate.
29:48His second time facing Lauer in this game.
29:51Freeman drills it left center.
29:53Running back Varshow to the warning drive.
29:54Makes the catch.
29:56Slamming into the wall as he made the play.
29:58Dalton, Varshow, and Eric Lauer send us to an improbable 16th inning.
30:04Two outs.
30:05Bases empty.
30:06Top of the 16th.
30:07Tied at five.
30:08Two strikes on the hitter.
30:09A pitcher working hard on the mound.
30:11His 35th pitch.
30:12An 0-2.
30:13He struck him out.
30:14Got him swinging at a sweeper.
30:16Bottom of the 16th.
30:18The first two strikeouts for Lauer, who has now worked into his fifth inning.
30:22Teoscar Hernandez is the hitter in the pitch.
30:25Hit high in the air right center.
30:28Varshow back.
30:29Looking for the wall.
30:30On the track.
30:31Makes the catch.
30:31Let's go to 17.
30:32Four strikeouts in two and two thirds for Will Klein.
30:36Davis Schneider up.
30:38And the pitch.
30:39Line right back to Klein.
30:41Into his glove.
30:4217th.
30:43Will Klein handles the hot shot off the bat of Schneider.
30:47And pitches a 1-2-3 inning.
30:50First and second now.
30:51With two outs.
30:52And it's another opportunity for Mookie Betts, who has had a lot of them in this game, to try and
30:57win it for the Dodgers.
30:58Now Brendan Little has to lock back in.
31:01Mookie Betts.
31:01The premier hitters in this league, as we know.
31:04Popped up.
31:06First base foul.
31:08Vladi over the chalk.
31:10Makes the grab.
31:11How about we tie the major league record in a World Series and go to the 18th.
31:18Mark says, Doc, he's ready.
31:20How could he possibly be?
31:22But Yoshinobi Yamamoto says that he is.
31:25Decision for Dave Roberts is Will Klein to continue.
31:28Twice as many innings.
31:29Twice as many pitches as he's ever done.
31:32Two on.
31:32Two out.
31:33Tyler Heinemann, the backup catcher.
31:3672nd pitch for a guy who had never thrown more than 30.
31:40And an unbelievable stop from Will Klein.
31:42Will Klein lets out a roar.
31:46And Dodgers Stadium gives it right back to him.
31:49Four heroic innings out of the bullpen for Will Klein.
31:53Keeps the game tied at five.
31:55Going to the bottom of the 18th inning.
31:58Three, four, and five.
32:00View up for the Dodgers.
32:015-5.
32:03Both teams with five runs and 15 hits.
32:07The Blue Jays have straighted 19.
32:09The Dodgers 18.
32:10Freddie Freeman leading off against the lefty, Brendan Little.
32:14They played two.
32:15The Dodgers want to finish it right here.
32:18Freeman sends a fly ball to center field.
32:21Varsho's going back before the catch strikes.
32:25Freddie Freeman has ended it.
32:28It's a repeat hero with the last word on a game three classic.
32:34Freddie Freeman, Mr. World Series, ends the marathon at midnight.
32:42He is mobbed at home plate as the Dodgers walk it off in the bottom of the 18th inning.
32:516-5 the final to grab a 2-1 series lead.
32:57You want drama?
32:58Come to Dodgers Stadium.
33:00Freddie Freeman let one fly to dead center field.
33:05And he sends everybody home.
33:09And he sends everybody home.
