00:00Now, this is how good the pity is. When you're sitting at home and you're watching it and you're like,
00:05what's a trigonometry?
00:12Like you're watching the show and pulling up your phone like she did say a bipolar something, something, something.
00:19Preeclampsia, like all these like drugs as well, like the medical, like the pharmaceutical drugs. Yeah.
00:26So how do you hop on a rocket that's already out of space?
00:32That's a great analogy. That is how it felt like this is the most popular, biggest show I've ever booked
00:39before.
00:40And so to step onto a set where like there's so many established, amazing cast and crew members, it was
00:48a little intimidating at first.
00:49It really was. Everyone there from Noah Wiley to the to our director, John Wells, who's also a producer.
00:57There's from top down, like this sense of kindness, like this prevalence of kindness on set.
01:03So I think that made it a lot more welcoming. And then I did a lot of research in terms
01:08of the terms, what they meant as an OB nurse,
01:11how I'm hearing it, trying to save the life, like we're trying to protect the life of both the baby
01:16and the mother.
01:18So that's a unique perspective that I get to bring into the storyline, which is really fun to take ownership
01:24of that.
01:25And also we were sent a really, really graphic C-section video.
01:30And I was like, oh, oh, cool.
01:34I was like, dang.
01:36So we were, I think preparation was really key to be able to, I wanted to like just honor the
01:43writing, the story,
01:44like the beautiful characters that have already been created.
01:48And I was really excited to get to play Sam Garvin.
01:52I think what's dope when they implement new cast slash new cast members.
01:57And if you are a real fan of the show, the littlest thing from episode one will still be in
02:04episode six.
02:05Yeah.
02:06They're so good with the Easter eggs and everything.
02:08And like just the continuity of the story.
02:10The randomest person in the waiting room is the randomest person in the final episode.
02:16And you, and you, you really don't pay attention.
02:19But then when you do start to pay attention, you're like, I really can't not pay attention to every single
02:26detail.
02:26When you prep for this, because it is a moving rocket, what were the most three priorities to you?
02:33Was it terminology, your comfortability, cast members?
02:39Was it, okay, let me, let me get around the cast and feel them to find my, like, how do
02:44you, how do you navigate what makes you comfortable within that space because of the notoriety of the show?
02:51Yeah, so a few different things from, my number one priority when I step on a set is to do
02:58a good job, like in terms of my role as an actor.
03:01So I think the research on the, all the different terminology and the stakes and what's actually happening and the
03:09human and the human side of it.
03:10Like figuring out, like, how am I feeling during all this?
03:13Because as, you know, playing this medical professional, that's like, hey, we're here to save lives.
03:18How am I thinking?
03:19How am I feeling?
03:20Like getting really clear by doing some of the solo prep work first.
03:23And then I also strive to be someone on a set, like I'm, I love being a team player.
03:29I love collaborating with people and it helps me feel less nervous when I feel like I know the people
03:34a little bit better.
03:35So what I'll do is actually I'll research, you know, the director, the talent.
03:40And if there's something we share in common, I might bring it up and it makes me feel like, oh,
03:44I kind of already know these people.
03:46And it makes it easier for us like to gel even better as a team.
03:51And so I think that was a really cool part two and is like dramatic as the show is.
03:58And obviously there's some really hilarious moments, like the trailer for the season finale has like the no shit constipation
04:04joke, which is great.
04:06So obviously there's comedy and levity on the show, but the cast is so funny.
04:11Like between takes, it was like Aisha, myself, Luke, and a few of their cast.
04:17We started to do, we started to freestyle rap just for fun.
04:25Okay.
04:26Yeah, it was not my idea.
04:27It was my first, maybe my first and possibly last time I will ever attempt.
04:32But they were so encouraging.
04:34So you're not a battle rapper.
04:36You're not a battle rapper.
04:37No, no, no, no, not at all.
04:39Sam Garvin does not battle rap at all.
04:41But like, that's just the kind of like fun, like family feel that I really felt on the pit.
04:47I felt so included.
04:49And so a part of this like beautiful night crew.
