00:36landon gordon nicely done and then here comes nick romano romano's in the mix and then his
00:42teammate set hammock is there two kawasaki's in the top three ah great start for like you said
00:49landon gordon and nick romano think about this romano was a fill-in rider and he has done a
00:55fantastic job here in this season east coast division 250 landon gordon had an incredible
01:04rookie debut getting on the podium he took a rough crash yesterday so this is a great start for him
01:12and then seth hammocker you talk about seth hammocker bam championship contender just come up a little
01:17bit short so this is an opportunity for some redemption here tonight yeah great opportunity
01:21for him and again last time we kind of seen landon gordon having that podium that breakout ride but
01:27you can tell he looks a little bit more comfortable he's got nick behind him you tell they put a
01:31little
01:31bit of water on this racetrack and the shadows here in the whoops this guy's got to be careful
01:35early in this race but kind of a main event here it's been for the three races that landon gordon
01:41has done it's kind of been a mixed bag first the first one did not work out so well then
01:46he put it
01:46on the podium in just his second professional race the teenager did a spectacular job but then the
01:51most recent round it went a little sideways for him so good to see him up front and ricky to
01:55your
01:56point especially after that hard fall yesterday yeah i mean we were down here these guys had an
02:00opportunity to ride the track for press and man did he take a gnarly crash over the handlebars got
02:07piled drove into the ground and i was wondering if he was going to suit up and i saw him
02:11out here
02:12earlier this morning for qualifying practice and his track is very slick right now like james said
02:17they did some work put some water down and pretty impressive what landon gordon's been able to do
02:24interesting to watch how this heat race plays out to see how landon's starting to get away from these
02:29guys so as the day goes on gets into that night time all these guys is coming up they got
02:34to make
02:35sure they pay attention as seph gets around his teammate in that sand section a little while but he made
02:39the
02:39pass i like what you talked about too on that first lap this is basically like a heat or a
02:45main event
02:46with this east-west showdown you have the east division going first west division going second
02:51so this is all the heat in the six minutes plus one lap race set hammock aboard the 10 there

02:56monster energy pro circuit kawasaki was the fast qualifier and has looked good all day here in salt lake
03:03city here comes the champ looming large in the background the 37 of cole davies
03:07uh look at cole going to the outside right there electing to take a different line get out of the
03:13ruse maybe because that inside james is a little slick from the water that the smx track crew have
03:18put down yeah earlier when you went outside they were trying to triple we know how strong cole's been
03:24through the whoops as he gets up the inside of nick kind of it plotting his pass off nice good

03:29pass by the number 37 yeah got a good run out of the corners and definitely cole davies has been
03:35the
03:35class of the field in the whoops all season long along with the rest of the track and it's incredible
03:40to watch how fast he can go especially when you consider his statue's got beautiful technique here
03:46comes set hammock up challenging and pressuring for the lead of this race two minutes 40 left on the clock
03:51plus a lap in the east division heat west is coming up right next james i love the composure that
03:59oh landed gordon has and he's getting some heat from set hammocker here he's just riding his laps
04:08is it just a matter of time seemingly so as they hit the whoops one more time who's better through

04:14look at set hammocker on that outside line into the sand they jump oh land and gordon took that line

05:19energy star yamaha racers are together now yeah nice attempt by cole davies wasn't able to get it
05:25done but look at the gap that the 10 of hammockers put on these guys just from getting into the
05:31lead
05:31but again great job from landon gordon racing hard and clean and this is really the most realistic
05:37racetrack he's been on since his rookie debut because he's been in the mud ever since yeah absolutely he's
05:44going to have a realistic pass and get passed by his teammate but that's right still a good
05:49performance you can see seth has already gotten away from him so kind of knows you got to make
05:54that pass happen and let's see if he can close up on a number 10 out front two wonderful graduates

05:58the smx next program the 18 year old cole davies gets ahead of the 19 year old landon gordon and

06:05sets sail up to seth hammocker will he have enough time to catch him 1.6 seconds is the margin

06:11second yeah it's going to be a lot of fun to see right here just what cole is able to

06:15ride really well now this track looks like it's starting to get worked in the lines are becoming
06:20established and he'll be able to ride a bit more aggressive now than those first couple laps i believe
06:25james yeah cole makes a big mistake right there will james said hamica was talking to me today about
06:32how the pressure's been off for a couple of rounds for him since he sort of felt like he was
06:36out of the
06:37championship hunt day so you know i've been able to ride a little bit more freely unfortunately for
06:42him he's up against cole davies who's now got his championship already wrapped up and the version of
06:47cole that i saw in the paddock today talking to friends and family was a version that i haven't
06:52seen all year just completely relaxed and laughing two guys in his sort of best position possible there
06:58to just be able to relax and go after this win tonight will talks about family there's even more
07:02family that have made the trip over from new zealand for davies because he's had his mum and dad here
07:07and his grandfather who is still here by the way and his uncle has joined the family clan as well

07:18by the way if you have a look down the order daxton bennick is a distant 12 which is highly

07:27for the rockstar energy factory husk barna rider who is third in the championship point well it is and
07:33he was 11th on the first lap so uh that's shocking he must have uh went down for sure because

07:39he's been doing all season long to get third in the championship that's uh definitely out of pocket
07:45he don't make some moves he's headed to the last chance final lap for seth hammocker he's won three heats
07:52make it four in this 2026 season and a really nice way to get this final east west showdown underway
