Transcript
00:00What a frickin' play.
00:01What a play.
00:01What a play.
00:02Stole the souls of every single Dodgers fan at Dodgers Stadium as well.
00:07You could hear, because they thought it was gone.
00:09I thought it was gone.
00:09I thought it was gone.
00:10I thought it was gone off the bat.
00:11And Eli goes and gets it with reckless abandon.
00:14I mean, just straight face into the wall.
00:16That base is loaded, too.
00:17Two outs.
00:18Desperate and desperate.
00:19And I think it was 5-0 at the time.
00:21So, like, that would have been 3 or maybe even 4 if it gets over the wall.
00:25Or if he doesn't catch it and knocks himself out.
00:27Yeah, man.
00:28Muncy's probably not an inside-the-park candidate.
00:30But nonetheless, defensive play of the weekend, for sure.
00:34Obviously, a lot of great pitching.
00:36To score seven, both Saturday and Sunday, was great to see as well.
00:40Olsen goes deep again.
00:42But, yeah, man.
00:43You go out to L.A. and take two out of three from the Dodgers,
00:47especially after you lose the Chris Sale start.
00:49Yeah, man.
00:49We'll take it.
00:50Hey, man.
00:50Bravo, bravo, bravo, man.
00:52Stay in the govation for them.
00:54Because of what you just mentioned.
00:57You know, you're all the magnet got a pistol and a Chris Sale win,
00:59no matter who it is.
01:00And the thing with it about you go back to Spencer's last start in Colorado,
01:03it wasn't good enough.
01:04And then he went out there, and I'm talking about look like Spencer, Andy.
01:08I mean, from the get-go.
01:10He did.
01:10I mean, struck out, show him to start the game.
01:12What was it?
01:12Start game?
01:12With gas.
01:13What I'm talking about, show him.
01:16You know, I mean, I say when Spencer got that leg spinning around,
01:19he's in his zone, man.
01:20Like you said, he was mixing up his pitches.
01:22But, I mean, that gas was there.
01:24Getting up to 97, 98 miles an hour, just where you need him to be at this point.
01:28And, again, they got the runs.
01:30That was the more important thing.
01:31Because we talked about the game two and three.
01:33Run support will be ideal.
01:35Now, they need a lot of those runs.
01:36Because, like I said, Elder was really good yesterday.
01:38We already talked about what Spencer did, and they were able to go up there,
01:43and after a disappointing previous series up there in Seattle,
01:47we were able to go into L.A., focus in, and get two out of three.
01:50Probably should have been three out of three.
01:51They're going to get some run.
01:52Left 10 men on base on Friday night, which, you know, you would have thought,
01:56you know, because Spencer, your good guys are coming up,
01:58and they're just not bringing in these guys.
02:00But, I mean, you're still getting timely hits from guys like Devon.
02:02What a big play he made yesterday.
02:04Saw that Hasan Kim is going to supposedly join the team today.
02:07Don't know what that means as far as he's going to be right in the lineup
02:09or whatever.
02:10But, yeah, I mean, still getting contributions from those guys,
02:13and Matt Olsen is still doing Matt Olsen things.
02:16Yes, he is.
02:16Michael had a nice – I mean, Michael also, RBI double.
02:19I mean, everybody is just contributing to this thing right now.
02:22Oh, nice.
02:23Michael Harris Sr. was out there at the games in L.A.
02:27Traveled out to L.A. to see the games.
02:29I love –
02:30Perfect timing is you're complimenting Michael Harris.
02:32Yeah, I love it.
02:33I mean, the dude is just playing his ass off, man.
02:36He's playing his ass off.
02:37He's playing his ass off.
02:40Yeah.
02:40He's so great.
02:41You can't do the play.
02:42And he's back in center field, too, which is good to see.
02:44He's playing his ass off.
02:45Yeah, he's really off to a great start this year.
02:47I mean, dad strength, you know?
02:50Yeah.
02:50I mean, he was playing well before.
02:52He's Papa.
02:53You got that dad scruff, man.
02:55Speaking of dad strength or lack thereof.
02:58It's okay.
02:59Yeah, it's fine.
03:00It's okay.
03:00It's fine.
03:00But we knew.
03:01Yeah, everybody knew.
03:02Everybody knew it was going to happen on Friday.
03:03I was talking a big game.
03:05Yeah.
03:05And we went.
03:06Yeah.
03:06And she looked so adorable wearing her shirt.
03:08And miraculous recovery.
03:10Oh, yeah.
03:10Did she say anything, though?
03:11Like, I feel better?
03:12She did.
03:13Okay.
03:13She stuck with the act a little bit, at least.
03:16She's like, yeah, I feel way better.
03:18I was like, what?
03:18How?
03:19What happened?
03:19Like, she went and hung out with my dad all day Friday.
03:22I was like, did Pappy give you some medicine?
03:25Or what was it?
03:26No, we just, you know, just went for a walk.
03:28I was like, oh, so you didn't even pretend to be sick when you were there.
03:30They were in the wood shop building stuff.
03:32Yeah.
03:32All right, cool.
03:33So anyway, we went to the Savannah Bananas game, and Lily was there, too.
03:37I saw a bunch of listeners.
03:38Most people, everyone was nice, but there was a few people like, where is she?
03:42I was like, she's over there.
03:45She's over there.
03:46Yeah.
03:46I will say, Savannah Bananas game, very fun.
03:52A lot going on.
03:53What do you mean?
03:53Like, just nonstop.
03:55Like, music and dancing and contests and lights and, like, very fun.
04:00I think I like just regular baseball better.
04:02I would not doubt that.
04:04And I didn't know how much shirtless dude there was going to be.
04:10A lot of dudes with no shirts on?
04:11Yeah.
04:12Yeah, a lot of...
04:13Very interesting.
04:13Yeah.
04:14I didn't know.
04:16It was kind of Chippendales-ish.
04:17Did you think about doing it?
04:18No.
04:19The players.
04:20Oh, the players?
04:21I don't know if the people didn't stand.
04:22No.
04:23No.
04:23Like, the players were doing a lot of, like...
04:26Oh, gyrating.
04:26Yeah.
04:27So it was, like, for moms.
04:28Uh-huh.
04:28Hey, kids.
04:29Or more moms.
04:30Mostly moms, I think.
04:30Mostly moms.
04:31Yeah.
04:31There was some...
04:32The moms were having a great time.
04:34The kids were having a great time.
04:35There was definitely some dads, like, on their third IPA, like...
04:39What the hell's going on?
04:40I need to do some crunches, man.
04:41Or a lot of dads got lucky.
04:43Or that, yeah.
04:45I wasn't ready for that.
04:46I didn't know that it was going to be...
04:48It was a little PG-13 at times, you know?
04:51Did you cover the baby's eyes?
04:53No.
04:53Okay.
04:54She did say...
04:55One of the guys that plays for the Bananas, like...
04:57Like, the whole time, unbuttoned shirt, ripped, all that, tattoos.
05:03It's third at bat.
05:04Lily's like, that guy's my favorite player.
05:05Yeah.
05:06Well, first crush.
05:07First crush.
05:08And then I saw something, I saw that Kirby gave a tribute to one of the players.
05:12Kirby was there.
05:13I didn't realize...
05:14Chipper was there.
05:14Yeah, I didn't realize that the former dog was one of the stripers.
05:17Did not know that.
05:20The party animals.
05:21Yeah.
05:21He's a place for the party animals.
05:22Okay.
05:23The other thing I didn't know was, I guess they take turns kind of hosting or whatever,
05:28because it was more of a party animals night.
05:32It was like their home game.
05:33Okay.
05:33So it was more their stuff.
05:34Okay.
05:34Like, their guys were on the microphones the whole time, and they were...
05:37So the party animals are...
05:38The team that played the Bananas.
05:40So they're...
05:40Is that their always home?
05:42No, they play a bunch of different ones.
05:43Okay.
05:43It's not like...
05:44Because I think the...
05:45The generals.
05:46A common comparison.
05:47Right.
05:47I think it's a fair comparison.
05:49Right.
05:49It's kind of like the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball, except for it's not a Washington
05:52general situation.
05:53Right.
05:53Because they don't always win.
05:55In fact, they lost.
05:56Oh, okay.
05:56Yeah, they lost to the party animals on Friday night.
05:58I had no clue.
05:59Anyway, I would recommend it.
06:00Glad you had a good time.
06:01I would recommend it.
06:01But I would just say, just go in knowing you're going to see some shirtless dude.
06:04Yeah, a lot of nipples.
06:05A lot of nipples.
06:06Yeah.
06:06And pecs and bouncing them.
06:07There was a lot going on.
06:10Anyway, here's Andrew Jones talking about Bobby Cox.
06:12It took a minute for him to realize what kind of player I am, how I go about my business.
06:18But, you know, when he took me out of that game, you know, he was just trying to let me
06:22know that don't let other stuff bother you.
06:25You know, just focus on how great you are as a defender.
06:29And I think that was the part that I took and I ran with it.
06:32And I have so much respect for him.
06:35He's like my second dad.
06:37For him to trust me and let me go out there and do what I did for a long time.
06:41Again, that's Andrew Jones talking about his former manager, Bobby Cox, who passed away
06:47at the age of 84 on Saturday.
06:50I mean, the tributes were pouring in.
06:53Everybody's got great stories.
06:55The Jeff Francoeur, Tiger Woods, spring training story is awesome.
07:00And there's just so many cool ones like that.
07:03So certainly rest in peace to another Braves legend.
07:06Lost two really big time Titans in the Braves history in one week.
07:11I mean, obviously, you know, when you think Braves, obviously for Hank Aaron.
07:15Yeah.
07:15You know, and then Bobby.
07:17And then obviously they had a lot of great players.
07:18And I won't leave anybody out, but I always start with those two.
07:21Hank Aaron and then obviously Bobby Cox and what he did here.
07:25Because take it over that team, what he did.
07:28I mean, I know we spent four years in Toronto, but they were bad.
07:32They were bad.
07:34And had been.
07:35Yeah, had been for a while.
07:38It's crazy because we watched that.
07:40You watched it, I watched it, that Ted Turner thing.
07:42They're talking about the money they're losing because nobody's going through the damn games.
07:46They were that bad.
07:48And then for him.
07:48I didn't realize he bought the team for $11 million.
07:52Yes.
07:52And $10 million of it was just like stock on it.
07:54Yes, he didn't have it.
07:55He didn't have it.
07:55He didn't have it.
07:56It's crazy, man.
07:57He didn't have it.
07:58He basically bought the Braves for a million bucks.
08:00Yeah, but I mean, just what he did as far as, you know, we talked about the Super Station
08:04and things like that.
08:05And you saw Bobby's front and center.
08:06He is a leader of men.
08:08And you saw that from all the wonderful tributes yesterday.
08:13Saw a couple of them this morning.
08:15I finally saw Chipper's this morning.
08:17And I mean, you just feel it.
08:19You just feel the passion that these players have for that man.
08:21Chipper was out there on Friday night, too.
08:23He threw out the first pitch.
08:24Oh, he did?
08:24Yeah.
08:25Nice.
08:25And the first pitch counts.
08:26If it's a strike, then the first batter starts out.
08:29Oh, that's a whole lot of gimmicky.
08:30Yeah.
08:31The whole thing is a gimmick.
08:32Okay.
08:33Like if a fan catches a foul ball, the guy's out.
08:35Oh, really?
08:36Yeah.
08:36And one dad made a hell of a catch.
08:38Oh, sweet.
08:38Like he's got bragging rights forever.
08:42Look at this, son.
08:42It was pretty good.
08:43Yeah.
08:43It was right in front of his kids.
08:45Yeah, it was pretty good.
08:46I was like, dang.
08:46Titan of a dad.
08:47I need to do that.
08:49I need to get something back here after all this.
08:52All right.
08:52Let's hear Zachariah Branch talking about his former college teammate, Cash Jones.
08:58Yes, sir.
08:59I feel really comfortable.
09:00You know, I think I can run routes from inside and outside pretty much my whole life.
09:03You know, I just, oh, yeah, that's my guy.
09:06You know, and they transitioned him to receiver.
09:08He's playing slot, too.
09:09So, you know, just to get a chance to have him at Georgia.
09:12He's always a great energy, a bright guy as well, and always keeping the energy up.
09:16So, it's good to have him around me.
09:17You know, we helping each other out as well.
09:20You know, me and Georgia guys and Bulldogs.
09:22So, that's always going to be my guy, and I'm excited to, you know, continue working with him.
09:26Yeah, I'm sure Kevin Zafansky, receiver coach Zachariah, we love it.
09:30Just let us handle the personnel and tell the people where the guys are.
09:33Not saying they're trying to sneak over one.
09:35We just got Kirk Cousins out of here.
09:36I've been in a situation like that and spilled some tea.
09:39Yeah.
09:39And you're like, hey, okay, thanks, Randy, but, you know, could you let the coach do that?
09:43I was like, my bad, didn't it?
09:44Because you're just rambling and just talking.
09:45Right, you're just excited.
09:45You're just excited, just talking and everything like that.
09:48And then to say some stuff you probably shouldn't have said, but it wasn't that brutal or nothing like that.
09:52No, I don't think that's good.
09:53It's more funny than anything.
09:54But, yeah, I mean, it's always good to get the first taste of the NFL and how this thing worked
09:59out.
09:59Just rookie minicamp.
10:00The vets are obviously going to start up with them pretty soon.
10:03Then, you know, hell, before you know it, they're going to be in a damn training camp.
10:05And we'll be up there, Flower Branch, sitting on the curb.
10:10And it was really great a couple years ago when they were under construction.
10:14And we got to do the show from inside every single day.
10:18That's all right.
10:18We'll get out there.
10:19We'll get out there.
10:19Get out there and sweat it out.
10:20It's training camp for us, too.
10:21I don't mind sweating.
10:22I'm just like, we're in a better location.
10:24Yeah, we used to have a big old stage.
10:26It was nice.
10:27Maybe we'll do that again.
10:27Who knows?
10:28Who knows?
10:28They got everything done now.
10:30Construction's over.
