Queensland's premier is untroubled by One Nation's by-election win, saying he's focused on delivering his government's promises. It comes as uncertainty clouds a pre-election commitment to rebuild a Bundaberg dam, following resistance from the state's regional water service provider.

00:02David Crisofulli is not distracted by Pauline Hanson's victory in Farrah.
00:07We're in government and we have the ability to do as we say we're going to do and deliver.
00:11The Premier wouldn't say if he's worried about growing One Nation support.
00:15The greatest way that you can not be focused on polls but be focused on people is to do things
00:23and deliver things and we are.
00:25Today the government delivered a 35 year lease extension for BP's Bulwer Island facility to allow for the refurbishment of
00:32five fuel tanks set to hold an extra 54 million litres of diesel, petrol and aviation fuel.
00:39Today's announcement is about ensuring more fuel for Queensland so the state has the fuel it needs when it needs
00:45it.
00:45The Crisofulli government may have locked in more fuel storage in Brisbane but it's facing pressure to lock in a
00:51different project.
00:52The rebuilding of Bundaberg's troubled Paradise Dam.
00:56Touted as a watertight commitment, the government pledged to rebuild the dam's wall after testing in 2023 determined the concrete
01:04had degraded beyond repair.
01:06But in a letter seen by the ABC, Sunwater Chair Jeff Sini says the $4.4 billion project is a
01:13grossly disproportionate response and should be no further considered.
01:17Producers in Bundaberg are far from pleased.
01:20We need to be guaranteed that we can invest in the future and grow food for this nation.
01:26This government made a commitment to this region before the election.
01:30We fully expect them to keep that commitment.
01:34As a drought ridden country, we need to have that water security and we will not have it unless we
01:39have the wall rebuilt or reinstated.
01:41Premier Crisofulli says it's too early to determine the project's future.
01:46The business case isn't done so why anyone can be commenting about the benefit of doing it at this stage,
01:51that is far too premature.
01:53Sunwater says that business case will be fact based with evidence from extensive investigations.
