00:00Praise the Lord, I bring greetings to you all in the massless name of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
00:06It's such a great joy and privilege for all of us to be filled with the mercies and the love
00:14and the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
00:18And the Lord had filled our hearts and He had satisfied us with the best and the good things in
00:25each of our lives.
00:27Let's pray.
00:29Almighty God and merciful and heavenly Father.
00:33Lord, we thank you and we praise you for who you are and what you have done and what you
00:41are still doing in each of our lives.
00:45Precious Lord, you have lifted us from our miry clay, from death, and you have allowed us to be in
00:52your presence, to thank you on this morning.
00:57Precious Lord, as we prepare our hearts for your word.
01:03Lord, as the prophet Ezekiel said, as I have received your word, I just ate it.
01:10Just as the same way, God, help us to receive your word and write in a proper way when you
01:16speak to us.
01:19And be written your word on the tablet of our hearts and live by according to your word.
01:25In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
01:29This morning, if you have your Bible with me, turn with me to the gospel of John chapter 19 and
01:37verse 25.
01:402,000 years ago back when Jesus was on this earth, there are many people who had followed Jesus Christ.
01:48Some had followed Jesus for food, some had followed Jesus for blessing, and some even have followed Jesus Christ for
01:58spiritual things.
02:01But when we see in the Bible, in many instances, like the Burtamized, the blind man, after he received the
02:13sight, he forsook all, then he began to follow Jesus Christ.
02:22And there's other man that was a man who was being possessed with demons of legion.
02:29After he was got healed, been delivered, he became a follower of Jesus Christ and followed him.
02:38But one of the great tragedy thing is Jesus chose the 12 disciples.
02:44But 12 disciples and most of the 12 disciples, they said to Jesus,
02:47Jesus, Jesus, we are even ready to die for you and we are even ready to come wherever as you
02:54travel.
02:56But during the moment when Jesus was carrying up the cross and walking towards the Mount Calvary,
03:03Simon Peter said, I don't know who he is.
03:07He denied Jesus.
03:10He moved away from that place.
03:16But this morning, we are going to study on the people who are at the cross of Calvary.
03:26In our Christian life, following the 40 Lent days is not important.
03:31Or following the traditions is not the important thing.
03:34Then what is the important?
03:35Every day coming near to the cross and being at the cross of Calvary is one of the greatest important
03:42things.
03:44This morning, brothers and dear sisters.
03:49What Jesus said is this way.
03:51If any man wanted to follow me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and then follow me.
03:59We need not to follow the traditions.
04:01We need not to follow the Sling days.
04:03But we need to come to the feet of God at the foot of the cross.
04:07Being finding ourselves where Jesus was nailed on the Mount Calvary.
04:14Being a follower of Jesus is a wonderful, important thing that God desires from each of our lives.
04:23In John chapter 19 and verse 25, the Bible says this way.
04:34Through all these days that we will be studying on the people who are near to the cross of Jesus
04:39Christ.
04:41And that is the women, that is the mother Mary.
04:46As you are listening this morning sermon, some of you people might say,
04:49Because Mary is a mother.
04:52And she has a responsibility to stand at the cross of Jesus Christ.
04:58She was very responsible in fulfilling the duty that God has given to her life.
05:06The life of Mary teaches us the committed life.
05:11Turn to the Gospel of Luke chapter 1 and verse 38.
05:17Now it was a time that Mary had a message from the angel Gabriel.
05:23And the angel Gabriel said unto Mary,
05:25Mary, you are highly favored in the Lord's sight and the Lord is with you.
05:31You are blessed about all the women.
05:35And you shall be great.
05:39And you shall have a baby.
05:42And you shall conceive in the womb.
05:44And you shall call him as Jesus.
05:47And this is the message.
05:49But during the message when Mary has got that,
05:52Mary was not a mother, but she was still a virgin.
05:58Mary and Joseph, they were exposed,
06:01but they were not get into the physical contact.
06:04After their marriage.
06:07They did not have a marriage,
06:08but just they were being engaged or exposed to each one other.
06:14In the Old Testament times,
06:16when a word's in,
06:18after the moment they were being exposed,
06:20if she has been pregnant,
06:23she has to be brought up into midst of the society,
06:27in midst of the congregation of the people where she was living.
06:31And as according to the law of Moses,
06:34they have to take up the stones and beat her.
06:36And she has to face the death.
06:40The seas were the punishment as according to the law of Moses.
06:46And the people of that society,
06:48they call her as Kurds.
06:51But the thing,
06:52what was happening is,
06:54Mary was conceived.
06:56Mary was conceived.
06:59But even though when Gabriel had given the message to Mary,
07:04but Mary humbled herself in the presence and in the sight of the Lord.
07:10In Luke chapter 1 and verse 38,
07:14Be it unto me according to thy word.
07:18Behold,
07:19I am a handmaid of the Lord.
07:22She submitted.
07:24She had committed her life for the will of the Lord.
07:29She didn't say to the Gabriel angel,
07:31Angel,
07:32do you know that I,
07:33if I have been conceived,
07:35if Joseph or if the people in that society,
07:38if they knew that I was being conceived,
07:40I was a pregnant,
07:41they would stone me.
07:41How could I bear this?
07:46But she did not reply anything in a negative way,
07:49but she submitted and committed her life
07:51for the will of the Lord
07:52to be done in all her life.
07:56This morning,
07:57friends,
07:57as you are listening to this sermon,
08:00do we have a committed life
08:02toward the Lord?
08:04There are often times
08:06that we don't have a committed life.
08:09What we say is,
08:11Lord,
08:11I'm going to begin up this work
08:12and I want you to be with me.
08:16Lord,
08:16I'm going to do this
08:17and I need your blessing in this.
08:19I need you to be a part
08:20of what I was doing.
08:23But we don't commit ourselves
08:25before what we do
08:26to the Lord.
08:30We all need to have committed life,
08:32committed life.
08:35Proverbs chapter 3 and verse 5 and 6,
08:37the Bible says,
08:38Trust in the Lord,
08:38lean not on your own understanding.
08:40Trust in the Lord with all your heart
08:42and the Lord will shall direct
08:44all thy paths.
08:47what we do normally is,
08:49Lord,
08:49I wanted to do this.
08:50I'm doing this
08:51and I want you
08:52to be with me
08:53and bless me
08:53in whatever the things
08:54that I was doing.
08:56There are often times
08:56we rebel unto God
08:58in order to have
09:01committed
09:02and submitted
09:03life to God.
09:06Mary had submitted herself
09:08to the will of the Lord
09:10and she
09:12made Jesus Christ agree
09:14about 33 half years
09:16and still now
09:17she was at the place
09:19of Calvary.
09:20She was at the cross
09:21of Jesus Christ.
09:24Mary saw that the
09:25blood was bleeding out.
09:27Mary saw that Jesus Christ
09:29was going through the griefs
09:30and sorrows
09:31for all the whole humankind.
09:33but still
09:34she was able
09:36to find herself
09:37at the foot
09:37of the cross
09:39because she had
09:40a committed life.
09:43Do we have
09:44a committed life
09:45toward the presence
09:46of the Lord
09:48and do we find ourselves
09:49to be at the foot
09:50of the cross?
09:52Turn with me
09:53this morning
09:54to the second
09:55epistle of Corinthians
09:58and chapter 8
10:00and verse 5.
10:03where Paul says
10:04this way
10:072nd Corinthians
10:08chapter 8
10:08and verse 5
10:09and this they did
10:11not as we hope
10:12but first they gave
10:13their self
10:14to the Lord
10:15and unto us
10:16by the will
10:17of God.
10:19Paul here
10:19is speaking
10:20about the church
10:20of Macedonia.
10:23Paul is giving
10:23a very great testament
10:25about the church
10:25of Macedonia
10:26is because
10:27that the grace
10:28of the Lord
10:29was being bestowed
10:30upon this church.
10:30the reason is
10:32they submitted
10:33themselves
10:34unto the will
10:35of the Lord.
10:39That's what
10:40you and I
10:40can do
10:41in each of our life.
10:43If you need
10:43a blessing of God
10:44let us commit
10:45ourselves
10:45and submit
10:46ourselves
10:46for the will
10:47of the Lord.
10:48Mary had submitted
10:49herself
10:50and she was
10:51highly favored
10:52in the sight
10:53of the Lord.
10:57she has a great
10:58commitment
10:59and that commitment
11:00had led her
11:01to be
11:02at the cross
11:03of Jesus Christ.
11:04Even his disciples
11:05left him
11:06alone
11:07at the cross
11:08and that
11:09particular
11:10situation.
11:11she
11:11would
11:12have
11:12of the Lord
11:12that
11:12man
11:12on his
11:12body
