00:00Without sounding like a hypocrite, now, right now, is the time to get excited about Brooks Koepka.
00:05You'll remember, if you listened way back when, when I first started, I think it was my first episode actually.
00:10I came out with an outlandish comment about Brooks Koepka rejoining the PGA Tour, which got me a lot of
00:15hate.
00:15Now, let me just recap what I said for the record, right?
00:18He wouldn't win for the foreseeable as his form on Liv last season was woeful.
00:22Tick. Correct. He hasn't won.
00:24Yeah.
00:24It would take him time to reclimatize to the PGA Tour standard.
00:27First two events, T56 and miscut with a horrendous putting performance that made him change his putter, I believe.
00:36Tick. Number three, he has a chance.
00:39He has just as much chance of winning a PGA Tour event in the next few months as Ricky Fowler
00:43and Jordan Spieth.
00:44None of those players have won a PGA Tour event.
00:46And in fact, they've got three top 10s between them.
00:48Correct. Again. So without blowing my own trumpet.
00:51Ha. There. I was right.
00:52Okay. However, however, what I will say is he's getting close now to finding the form of what I would
01:02describe as Brooks Koepka being dangerous.
01:04And that was going to happen eventually. It just wasn't going to happen straight away.
01:08And I think now is the time where he's closest to that mark at an event where he has a
01:13real serious up chance of winning.
01:15He's playing with Shane Lowry. Both of them contended towards the top end of the Masters.
01:19They're both fantastic players.
01:21In order to play well at TPC Louisiana, you need to be a good player on approach.
01:25You need to have a solid short game between them.
01:27They can do that. Both of them.
01:31So I think that while they're probably going to end up being the favourites in the market, they're worth looking
01:36at.
01:36Lowry already won this with McIlroy a couple of years ago.
01:39Brooks Koepka will be looking to get a PGA Tour win under his belt because, one, that will maybe sort
01:47of gratify his move back to PGA Tour.
01:51It will make everybody realise that he's serious about trying to win PGA Tour events, regular PGA Tour events and
01:56not just majors.
01:57And it will give him that confidence to push on for the rest of the season.
02:01Even if it is just the Zurich Classic, I think that this will be an important week for him.
02:07And if they can get over the line together, it will do wonders for both of them for the rest
02:11of the season.
