11:50We have no idea how he died.
11:52The other two in the house were gunshots to the head.
11:54I'm guessing that's going to be a gunshot to the head.
12:09All right, let's go.
12:10OK.
12:10Next slide if we have one.
12:10Here we go.

12:30I believe so.
12:38Twenty-two.
12:40No gun.
12:41Not that we found.
12:50How many people lived in the house?
12:52This is him on the couch called Professor A.J.
12:57Carroll and Greg.
12:59Who is Greg?
13:00Can you describe Greg?
13:01He lived upstairs.
13:02He's tall, tall beard, full beard.
13:04Full beard.
13:05Did he have gray hair?
13:06Yes.
13:06White man?
13:07Yes.
13:07Okay.
13:09When was the last time you saw Greg?
13:10I haven't seen him.
13:12Okay.
13:13So there's five people that live in there.
13:15You two and the others.
13:16No, he doesn't live there.
13:17No, you don't live here?
13:18No, I just moved here.
13:19Oh, okay, okay.
13:19I just dropped him off here.
13:21Oh, okay.
13:22When was the last time you were here prior to your run?
13:26I came in about one,
13:27to drop something off that I got from Goodwill,
13:30then I went back to work.
13:31I saw a professor on the couch,
13:33but I was, like, professing?
13:34Yelled a couple times, he didn't budge,
13:36I figured he was asleep.
13:37Okay.
13:37Because he was always up watching TV.
13:38Who were the females that live here?
13:40A.J. and Karen.
13:41A.J.'s younger.
13:42She's kind of heavyset.
13:44Gotcha.
13:45All right.
13:53Hey, Heather.
13:54Go ahead, ma'am.
13:55There is a caller in our lobby.

14:39A.J.
14:39A.J.
14:42A.J.
14:43A.J.
14:45A.J.
14:56real quick. Right around the corner here. Can you say she's about 24? Has she ever been
15:12violent before? She's never been violent towards me or anybody. I've brought her around. But she
15:18was living at the house over on White's Lane off of Benchmark Road. She was renting a room. Do you
15:23know who else stayed there? Somebody named a professor is what she called in. There was
15:29a little old lady. I don't remember her name. I think it might have been Carol. Another
15:35really tall, skinny, white guy that was older, like old, about 60s to 70s, I think. And then
15:42some older black guy. I think he was in his 40s. She just moved in there how long ago? Maybe
15:48a month. Do you ever remember seeing any type of weapons over there or anything like that?
15:53I know that she had her grandfather's gun. Can you describe it? It's a regular looking
15:59pistol. It's a pistol? Is it like the old cowboy style? He was a Marine. Okay. So I don't
16:05know. I'm not too keen on weaponry. Okay. Does she have any family in the area? Yes. Who
16:12does she got? A mother named Jamie Venable. And then she has a sister in the area. I think
16:18her name is Courtney, but she moved on on bad terms. Okay. There's three dead people in
16:42that house. I think she did. How do you think she did it? I went to go pick up my
16:56dog. One
16:57of her friends. Thomas said that AJ said she had killed some people. Thomas. So she dropped
17:07the dog off? She dropped the dog off at him and I guess told him a bit of what was
17:11going
17:11on. Okay. To which he related to me was that she said that she just killed him. He made the
17:21gun notions when he told me. And that he told me that it was a bad idea to go to
17:29the house
17:29because he's pretty sure that's what had happened. And I drove straight home and took some time
17:34to sit by myself. So let me ask you again. Where did you get these at? She put them in
17:39my mother's
17:39mailbox. In your mother's mailbox? Okay. Does she have a vehicle? Yes. A Honda Civic. A Honda Civic.
17:52I'm sorry. Yes, sir. Hey, can you get AJ's phone number from her and start an exigent ping? Let me
18:02get
18:02that number for you. I was just getting ready to write it down. All right. Hey, I'm going to put
18:07you on speakerphone here with JD, too, in case he's got any questions for you. All right. Go ahead.
18:13Hey, what's Venable's first name? It is Alyssa, A-L-Y-S-S-A. Mom is Jamie.
18:23Okay. Jamie went to school with me, so I know her. Okay. There's a photo. There's our suspect right
18:29there. Why is this young girl going around killing old people?
18:33Dispatch, start an exigent ping for her. Yeah, start a ping. Jane is her grandmother.
18:42All right. AJ has a weapon, a pistol. Okay.
18:46And she dropped the dogs off at about noon today to a guy by the name of Thomas.
18:53And she told him that she hurt people.
18:57Okay. Well, then AJ is on the run, it would appear.
19:00He just moved out of her sister's house on bad terms.
19:04Okay. We got to get someone over to the sisters.
19:07How many people do you think you need?
19:09At the minimum, two. I'd rather them be together because there's nothing saying this chick won't
19:14ambush somebody. She might be waiting while they approach. We might want to go check on
19:20Grandma Ma as well. All right, Wachowski, let's go see if we can find the grandma.
19:24You got the car and everything. $300.
19:26$300.
19:28Evidently, AJ has a beef with her sister. Do I got a free unit you can send over there?
19:32Just to make sure we ain't got another one.
19:35$300.
19:37$300.
19:38Myself at 430. We're getting around to the check with Grandma.
19:50Hello, ma'am. How are you?
19:53What's the hell?
19:54Sorry for scaring you.
19:55That's what's going on.
19:55What's up? What's going on?
19:57You heard from Alyssa tonight.
19:58Now what's going on?
20:00We're looking for her.
20:01What?
20:02It's a bad deal.
20:04It's a bad deal.
20:20Which one is it?
20:21That one.
20:22This one?
20:23Yes.
20:24Yes.
20:49Cover me.
20:56Sheriff's office.
21:04Blacked out, blacked out.
21:06Cracking the blinds.
21:13Light on in the kitchen.
21:16Television on.
21:17I don't see anybody in the main room.
21:20Jazz Hall, let's come to the door, please.
21:26It's locked.
21:35Is that a driveway back there?
21:37It's a pathway.
21:40It's a pathway.
22:06Knock on that door.
22:10Knock on that door.
22:12Sheriff's office.
22:14Feel that curtain back.
22:16See what you see.
22:24Bathroom.
22:27I don't see anything in the bathtub.
22:33Oh, my sister.
22:59Is there anywhere you think she might go?
23:05Oh, you know, she was living with us.
23:09There's a whole situation with me and her.
23:11I haven't talked to her because she didn't want to pay her rent, so I kicked her out.
23:15We had an officer come here to get her stuff out of us.
23:19But I never, I don't, I just, my heart's racing because she's my little, my baby sister.
23:28I hope she didn't, I hope she didn't, I hope she didn't, I hope she didn't either.
23:36AJ, AJ, AJ, baby, could have came back here.
23:41I'm going to go head back over to the scene.
23:45If you hear from her, you just call her, because I don't know what state of mind she's in.
23:50If I could tell you more, you'd probably believe me when I say that to you.
23:54So just use diligence when dealing with her.
23:58My big thing is I don't know where this girl is, and I don't know how many more people she
24:02might kill.
24:11No idea why this happened?
24:14Other than she's EDP.
24:16What history do we have with her?
24:18Do we personally have her?
24:19I'm not sure yet.
24:29Female, to the head, point blank.
24:36Look for any notes that are obvious.
24:39The TV's still on.
24:47Go ahead.
24:59She left her cell phone.
25:01They said that the stuff is pinging over here off Tidewater Trail.
25:06I wonder if that's going to be the cell phone right there.
25:09Yep.
25:11Do you want me to try to call that number and see if that phone rings?
25:14Yeah.
25:17Calling it now.
25:22All right, that's here.
25:24All right.
25:27121.
25:28You can cancel the ping on the phone.
25:29That phone's going to be located here in the house.
25:33I'm fine.
25:35We're going to have to notify a lot of family.
25:37Yep.
25:39Yep.
25:47One where the light just went on in the back in case somebody's running out.
25:50I want to go around back.
25:57There's noises.
26:02There's like f***ing hanging right behind the house.
26:04I don't know what it was.
26:08There's a door right here.
26:10Hold back for me.
26:12I'm going to knock on the front door.
26:25Sheriff's office.
26:28Police.
26:33Come outside here.
26:35Hello?
26:35Come outside.
26:36It's the sheriff's office.
26:38Come step over here.
26:39Wait.
26:40Can I grab my shoes?
26:41Step right here.
26:44What's wrong?
26:45I'm going to let this deputy talk to you real quick, okay?
26:47What's your name?
26:48Jamie.
26:49Jamie?
26:50Yeah.
26:50Do you have a daughter?
26:52Yes.
26:53What's her name?
26:54Alyssa Venable.
27:01Is she here?
27:04No.
27:06Do you know where she might be?
27:08I do not.
27:104-6-2, we got contact with the mom.
27:12What does she do?
27:14She's a suspect in a triple murder.
27:17Are you f***ing?
27:18I'm serious.
27:19That's what we're dealing with right now.
27:21That's why I called you out the way I did.
27:22Where do you believe she is?
27:24I don't know.
27:25She lives with three elderly people.
27:27Those people are all dead right now.
27:31Can you come in?
27:33Who else is in the house besides you?
27:34It's just me.
27:35You guys can come in if you want.
27:36You're more than welcome.
27:37You can search my house.
27:38Do you got any dogs in there?
27:40No.
27:40No, no, no.
27:41Nobody's in the house.
27:42It's just me.
27:42I promise you.
27:43When was the last time you saw her?
27:44I haven't seen her in two weeks.
27:47We don't talk often.
27:48Here.
27:48I'll turn on the lights on.
27:50I have my green.
27:514-6.
27:51Mom has not seen the suspect in two weeks.
27:55Me and AJ don't have the best relationship.
27:58Okay.
28:00Okay.
28:01She calls me from her email, from her iPod.
28:06She FaceTimed me from that.
28:07I don't know if that helps.
28:09It's Wi-Fi only.
28:10Okay.
28:11Yeah.
28:11She FaceTimes me from that.
28:14Can you see if you can FaceTime her?
28:16Yep.
28:16Don't let her know I'm here.
28:17Absolutely.
28:18Just try and figure out where she is.
28:20I'm not going to say a word until you hang up, okay?
28:22Okay.
28:354-6.
28:36No contact with AJ.
28:39You wouldn't help me to know AJ's Snapchat, would you?
28:41No.
28:42It's under her email.
28:43I do know that.
28:44And you have no idea where she might be, where she would hang out, any friends?
28:48Donovan.
28:49Donovan, Donovan, Donovan.
28:50He doesn't live in this state, but that's, he's in West Virginia, and she's ran there
28:56before.
28:58Uh, let me see if I have his info.
29:01Let's see.
29:03He has me blocked on Snapchat.
29:05I'm just trying to find him.
29:06Okay.
29:07She always goes there.
29:12Yes, sir?
29:13We have anything?
29:15There's, yeah, whatever device she has.
29:16Mom says it's like an iPod.
29:18It's not going to have cell service.
29:19Yeah, it's an old iPod.
29:19It's an old iPod.
29:20It uses Wi-Fi with her Gmail, so she's just connecting her Apple ID so that she can iMessage
29:26and FaceTime, but she can only do it over Wi-Fi.
29:28Gotcha.
29:29So, mom's going to keep calling, see if she gets, you know, service and try and get a
29:33hold of her, and then she'll call me.
29:35Okay.
29:36Yeah, there's nothing you're going to be able to do with phones or devices at this point
29:40unless you can get Apple to grant you guys an emergency.
29:43But even then, they'll only be able to give you the last, like, IP address for whatever
29:47router she was connected to, so that probably won't even help really anyway.
29:49Yeah.
29:50Okay.
29:52Hi, boss.
29:54A news alert now from Spotsylvania County.
29:57Deputies looking for Melissa Jane Venable.
30:00Investigators believe she killed her roommates.
30:02She's wanted for three counts of second-degree murder and use of a firearm.
30:24Alright, Detective Medina with Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.
30:29Okay, I have a hold on.
30:34Hello.
30:36Do you want me to step out there?
30:37Sure. Are you Thomas?
30:38Yes, sir.
30:41I'm Detective Medina. This is Detective Norris with the Sheriff's Office.
30:46I understand AJ came by today?
30:49Yeah, she brought her dog this morning around noon.
30:51She was like, I need to go. Can you watch him?
30:55And then her friend came and got him around 6 o'clock. She's his other owner.
30:59Okay. What did she say to you when she came over?
31:02She said that she had to go do something and that she was busy.
31:07And I asked her for what? And she's like, I just have to go out of town.
31:12And then I haven't heard from her since.
31:15Did she tell you that she hurt somebody?
31:19Somebody as in like family or was it?
31:22Did you tell Kayla that Alyssa came over and brought the dog and told you that she's going to be
31:30leaving because she hurt somebody?
31:34No.
31:36And you had your hand like a gun like that?
31:39I didn't have my hand like a gun like that.
31:42How do you know Alyssa?
31:43I met her through work. She used to be a co-worker of mine until she got fired.
31:47How long have you known her?
31:50About a year.
31:51So this is not somebody that it's really worth lying to the police about.
32:02I really need you to think about what she said to you when she dropped the dog off.
32:08Yes, I know.
32:09You're not in trouble, so just relax.
32:11There's not, you know, we just need to know what she told you.
32:14Yeah, so she came to the house. It was really quick.
32:16And when she got here, she's like, I got to go.
32:19And I was like, where are you going to go?
32:20And she's like, well, I'm busy. I have to go take care of something.
32:23And she's talked about her friend Donovan, but I don't know who he...
32:26Who?
32:26Her friend Donovan, but I don't know anything else than that.
32:29I don't know his last name.
32:31I do know that they went to school together.
32:34I don't know where he lives, though.
32:36And I believe they're around the same age.
32:39Right.
32:39That's about it.
32:42Going to see Donovan.
32:45And she seemed rushed.
32:48Excuse me one second.
32:49Yeah.
32:50Yeah.
32:52Go ahead, Steve.
32:54Hey, so Thomas here.
32:56He's kind of nervous.
32:57He did say that she's going to see her friend Donovan,
33:00but we don't have an address or a town.
33:02Okay.
33:03All right.
33:04All right.
33:04Bye.
33:05Bye.
33:20Watch a Fox 5 exclusive this morning.
33:23A manhunt underway to find a woman accused of a triple murder in Spotsylvania County.
33:28Sheriff's deputies say 23-year-old Alyssa Jane Venable shot and killed her three roommates inside their home in Fredericksburg.
33:35In an exclusive interview, Alyssa's grandmother speaks with a message for her to come forward.
33:40My granddaughter's missing, and we don't know if she's at risk of taking her life.
33:46So we would just say, please, AJ, call home.
34:16We get enough people in.
34:18I wouldn't be surprised if we tried blocking her in, because this one's not going anywhere.
34:22We're not discontinuing this.
34:25Easy, easy.
34:28We're breaking.
34:30I thought my eyes were breaking.
34:33Oh, yeah.
34:34Just use caution.
34:35We're going to have these murder weapons.
34:37We're going to do that.
34:40Let me see your hands!
34:42Driver!
34:44Put your hands out the window!
34:46Shut the car off!
34:48Shut the car off!
34:52Take it off.
35:05Send it, take second.
35:06Take second.
35:08She got back in and took off.
35:10She's continuing eastbound.
35:11Speeds 80.
35:13Conditions dry.
35:14No driving.
35:16Speeds of 100.
35:21Speed 170.
35:28Get up there.
35:29Let's go.
35:31Get down.
35:32Get down.
35:33Did she get up?
35:33Yeah, she did.
35:34You're called for one.
35:35I was in the floor.
35:36I was in the guardrail.
35:38Just on the guardrail.
35:39I'll be right down 36 overpass into the guardrail.
35:42All right.

35:48Hands out the window!
35:49Show me your hands!
36:03Driver, show me your hands!
36:04Driver, hands out the window!
36:06You're okay.
36:08I see no movement.
36:11You guys got visual on her?
36:12Okay, go.
36:13Driver!
36:14Put your hands out the window!
36:18I do not see a body.
36:22Driver, place both hands outside the vehicle.
36:31I see move, man.
36:32There's an airbag.
36:33That's an airbag.
36:34Yeah, you're going to see the airbag just flopping a little bit.
36:38She may be moving.
36:39It's moving.
36:39I don't know.
36:44We got to hand out the window.
36:45We got to hand out the window on my side.
36:49Put both hands out the window!
36:54Is she getting out?
36:57Is she attempting to get out?
36:58Is she getting out?
36:59Driver, place your hands outside of the vehicle.
37:04How fast was she going?
37:06Probably 90, 100.
37:07She had to guide her out.
37:09So there's no way she bailed in any type of condition?
37:13It was still going like 30, 40 when I hit that.
37:16She may have took her so long.
37:18Driver, if you could open the door so slowly, get down on your stomach.
37:28Can you guys tell?
37:28Does she have that one hand still out the window?
37:31Is her hand still outside the window?
37:34Left hand's out.
37:35Left hand is out.
37:43They're going to flashbang the car.
37:45Dave, you still got eyes on?
37:48Just be advised, you got your airbags on that side.
37:50Be waiting.
37:50Yep, I'm safe.
37:51I'm safe.
37:52Go, go, go, go, go.
37:57We're ready, we're ready.
38:06Go, go, go, go, go, go, go.
38:36Go, go, go, go, go, go.
38:38You got the seat.
38:40Get her set up.
38:41We can cover it right there.
38:44Pass up, pass up.
38:55We got the ambulance here.
38:57We're going to get you in there.
39:02You call it.
39:06Oh my God!
39:37She's in custody, she is okay, she's in custody out of state, she had been there and gone.
39:48She had already left probably within two days, so she's in custody, she's okay physically.
39:56And that's literally all we got right now.
39:59I told you I would let you know, I didn't know I was going to let you know that quick.
40:03We knew other states were looking out for obviously, so once I find out a little bit more I will
40:10let you know.
40:11You've got my number now.
40:12Good to go, thank you.
40:14Well the suspect in a Sponsylvania County triple murder has been captured after a car chase in New York.
40:19Alyssa Jane Venable was wanted for killing her three roommates.
40:22Police spotted Venable's car just outside of Ithaca and after store police chased she was caught and arrested.
40:28Alyssa, I'm investigating the state police.
40:31You are in our custody, right?
40:33You're under arrest.
40:34Alright, just so you're aware.
40:36So I'm going to invite you to remain in the morning, alright?
40:38You have the right to remain silent.
40:39Anything you say can and will be used against the court of law.
40:42Do you understand these rights that I have explained to you?
41:12What can you tell me that I don't know?
41:14She told me the whole story.
41:16What did she say?
41:18She had murder on her mind long before she moved in the house with these people.
41:21Because she was going to kill her sister and the sister's husband or boyfriend first.
41:28Her whole reason is just to kill someone basically?
41:31Yeah, she didn't have no reason.
41:33None, like no reason at all.
41:48A Spotsylvania woman has pleaded guilty to killing her roommates last summer.
41:52Alyssa Jane Venable was accused of killing Robert McGuire, Gregory Powell and Carol Ann Reese at the home that they
41:59shared in Spotsylvania.
42:16I'll be right back to you later.
42:17You
