00:00Previously on Seven Little Johnstons.
00:02This weekend, we are all visiting my girlfriend, Allie,
00:06in Ohio.
00:07Yeah.
00:08You have to be in control.
00:10I'm trying to control it.
00:12So bridesmaid's dresses have been ordered,
00:14but we got to get you scheduled for picking out
00:17your style of suit.
00:19Is camouflage and good color to use?
00:22No.
00:23So I want to make Liz happy, but I want to find a way
00:27to bring some camouflage in this wedding.
00:31Proposal came in for Elizabeth's wedding.
00:34I got to sit down for this one.
00:36It's a lot more than what we will be able to do.
00:40We need to sit down with Elizabeth and Bryce
00:44and see what we can cut.
00:47And hopefully, Elizabeth doesn't freak out.
01:07We recently got the wedding budget, and it is a lot.
01:11It is a lot of money.
01:13And we need to cut this by at least 30%.
01:17So it's important for us to sit down with Elizabeth,
01:20talk about it, pump the brakes, and see what we can do
01:25to make some adjustments, some changes,
01:28and cut back a lot of money.
01:32So we have to discuss...
01:36It's a wedding proposal slash...
01:38Money.
01:44The wedding proposal came in.
01:47We've looked at it, and we've looked it all over.
01:48It looks like it's a lot.
01:49It is.
01:50When you get to that final number at the back, it is.
01:54The final number at the back is not doable.
02:00Yeah, no.
02:02How much is it?
02:03Let Bryce look at it, too.
02:04That's more than a down payment.
02:07I don't know if he wants to look at it.
02:08My eyes will probably drop down.
02:14I was in no-go when I saw that price.
02:17I was like, no, we got to drop that down, like, right now.
02:22That doesn't include the wedding dress, the tuxes.
02:27Not even food.
02:29That's definitely going to have to be adjusted.
02:32Wow, weddings are really this expensive.
02:35I was just amazed because it's, like, just a backyard wedding.
02:38We just wanted to add some flowers and, of course, the chair rentals.
02:41And, yeah, I was pretty shocked.
02:45Clearly, Mom and Dad and you two are going to be footing the bill for the majority of this.
02:50Yeah.
02:51But no matter if we had five different families contributing to this,
02:56it still doesn't make sense at that number.
02:58This wedding quote, it came in right at $55,000.
03:02And I look at it as, like, that's a lot of money for four or five hours.
03:06So we need to trim back at least, like, $20,000, $25,000.
03:10Here's what I find to be the two most important things.
03:13Uh-huh.
03:14The ceremony and the dinner.
03:18Wherever you guys can make adjustments for, like, the seating around the fire pit.
03:23Yeah.
03:23I'm not saying take things, don't take it away.
03:26Cut back.
03:27Seating around fire pits, cocktail hour, things like that.
03:32That's, that's, start making adjustments there.
03:35So the most expensive thing, obviously, is going to be, like, the tent, the chair, and the table rentals.
03:40But there were some of these floral arrangements that were just over $2,000, $3,000 in that ballpark.
03:47And Bryce and I, we really don't need that many flowers.
03:50So really, it's like we ultimately just have to tone down all the decorative items.
03:55Only the four of us know about that list.
03:57So all your guests, none of them will know what's been cut from the wedding.
04:01Exactly.
04:01They only know what they see.
04:03It's not like I'm having to get everybody's approval.
04:05It's whoever's fitting the budget.
04:06Well, but you do always want to have good food.
04:10Mm-hmm.
04:10Your dress looks good on you.
04:14Which we've nailed that, so.
04:15Wedding planning, you know, was stressful.
04:19But now it's really stressful since we are having to reconsider the budget and definitely cut back on some of
04:27the things that we want for our wedding.
04:29All right, so we know what we have to do.
04:31You finished going through that list.
04:32Yeah.
04:33Whether it's you and Bryce or you and Mom, trim it up.
04:36If you need to borrow a weed eater, I want your weed eater.
04:38You got to trim that thing up.
04:40And we still have to go tuck shopping.
04:43I also have to design a groom's cake for Bryce.
04:47But you know, in the back of my vine, I'm just worrying about the budget.
05:08So free, taking over me anytime.
05:11Wow.
05:11It's warmer back here.
05:12A little bit, yeah.
05:15Yeah, our studio in the summer can get upwards of 130 degrees in here.
05:19The wedding planning is definitely creating some stress to our lives.
05:23So it's good to, you know, take some time for some creative, fun, you know, activities with the family that
05:32we can all enjoy.
05:33We're going to make a couple of drinking glasses like these ones, the stemless wine glass shape, and then the
05:38whiskey glass shape.
05:40So there's all different ways to work with glass, too, to make like smaller objects like pendants, jewelry, things like
05:46that.
05:47Emma has an online jewelry business where she makes primarily earrings.
05:52I've been doing it for, I think, five years now.
05:55And I might be interested in putting glassblowing in my business.
06:00I can maybe see if I can make an earring out of it or something.
06:05Do you want to stand right here for me in front of that cool, breezing fan?
06:10Nice and toasty.
06:12Right now in our home, there is a lot of focus on Elizabeth and the wedding.
06:17But it's also important for me to remember that we still have Jonah, Alex, and Emma that have everyday activities
06:26and interest and make sure all of their activities or academic needs and things are addressed.
06:32And they're just included in the family and not everybody's just absorbed in a wedding.
06:37Oh, you got mom helping?
06:38Yes.
06:40All right.
06:42You're going to hold it.
06:43If you hold it up here a little bit, it'll be easier.
06:45Bring it up underneath.
06:46A few challenges right off the top.
06:49One was being able to reach the wooden ladle.
06:54Teamwork.
06:55Yeah.
06:55Oh, yeah.
06:56It's a little people thing.
06:58So, you know, a lot of people say, oh, well, I'm short, too.
07:01Well, the difference is, is that we have an average size torso.
07:04Our arms and our legs are short.
07:07Therefore, our reach is short.
07:09The other thing that was challenging is when you have to take the long tongs, the really long ones, and
07:18work your glass, the mouth of your glass when you're having to widen it.
07:23You're going to lean out a little bit.
07:25We're going to try to get these.
07:27Come on, Emma.
07:27You can do it.
07:28We're going to go down.
07:29Yeah.
07:31There again, arm reach is very short.
07:34These tongs are very long.
07:35You don't want to burn yourself.
07:36But Jonah was like, hold it.
07:39I'm standing up.
07:39Jonah's arms do not straighten out.
07:41I mean, they're very constricted.
07:43So, he knew he was going to have to stand up.
07:46One more.
07:47Nice.
07:53That's our little maker's mark.
07:55That's how we know it's handmade.
07:56Yeah.
07:5830 seconds of him demonstrating.
08:00I'm like, oh, this is good.
08:02I'm not saying the task is easy, but we're all able to do it clear as day.
08:06Grab the pipe.
08:07We're going to tap in the white and keep turning that.
08:11All right.
08:12Let's bring it over to our glory hole over here.
08:16And you're going to rotate that.
08:19It's warm in here.
08:20And it's because of these furnaces, which one's actually called a glory hole, which is totally
08:28inappropriate.
08:29That's, that's...
08:30Do you know what that is, Emma?
08:31He's, the boy is asking the sister, do you know what a glory hole is?
08:35No, Dad, I know.
08:36No, I'm saying...
08:37Of course you do.
08:38You have a smartphone.
08:40I was made like, Emma knows what that is.
08:41Probably not.
08:42Do y'all know what a glory hole is?
08:45I do know what a glory hole is.
08:49Let's hear it.
08:50A glory hole can be pretty pervy.
08:55A glory hole is the hole that you stick glass in to melt it.
09:00And a glory hole can be glory, glory, glory.
09:06Or a glory hole could be .
09:09Oh, God.
09:11Just pass to the inside?
09:13Yep.
09:13You just stick the tip in.
09:16Yeah, just the tip at this point.
09:18Today's the first time I've ever heard the word glory hole.
09:20And I think today's Emma's first time ever hear the word glory hole.
09:24You stick your pipe in the glory hole.
09:27That's great.
09:30Back towards you.
09:33Awesome.
09:33All right.
09:34Back in the water.
09:35So glass blowing was fun, making the different types of cups.
09:41There we go.
09:42Nice.
09:42Looks good.
09:43Yeah.
09:45And I have no clue how I'm going to put this in my business.
09:49Like, I don't see it yet.
09:51We also do full-time classes.
09:54Like, if you really want to dive into, like, learning how to blow glass and get more hands-on,
09:58we do things like that, both in the glass studio and the ceramic studio.
10:03I don't see Emma being a pro glassblower.
10:06Like, I don't see her just sitting by that kiln every day and getting all hot and sweaty and wearing,
10:11like, all the proper clothing and all that.
10:14But I just don't see that in Emma's interests.
10:16Cool.
10:17Well, thank you so much.
10:17Yeah, thank you.
10:19We enjoyed it.
10:19Yeah, for sure.
10:20Cool.
10:20You know, glassblowing was a lot of fun.
10:24And, you know, we learned some things.
10:27Definitely learned how hot it is.
10:29It's just great to take a break from wedding planning for a moment.
10:33But tomorrow, we'll be right back at it.
10:36Tux fitting and all focused on wedding again.
10:39Thanks again, Brian.
10:40Absolutely. Thank you.
10:41Appreciate it.
10:42Yeah.
10:44Go outside and get some air conditioning.
10:46No.
10:47Outside is hot, too.
10:51Hey, them country boys pulling up.
10:54Pulling up.
10:55With some big fat wheels on the truck.
10:57On the truck.
10:58And a pretty fine thing in the front.
11:01In the front.
11:01Hi.
11:03I brought all the guys.
11:04Yay.
11:05Hey, guys.
11:05This is Bryce, my fiancee.
11:08And then I'll introduce your crew.
11:10With me today, I have my dad, Chuck.
11:13My twin brother, Brett.
11:14My older brother, Trey.
11:17And Trent, Alex, Jonah, and myself.
11:20There's not a lot of trust on how we're going to pick out Tuxes today, so.
11:24Yeah.
11:24That's why you had to bring in the boss.
11:26Yes.
11:27That's right.
11:27Well, he wanted me to come, too.
11:29Yeah, I think Elizabeth has strong opinions,
11:32especially when the event has something to do with her.
11:36Yeah, her opinion becomes very serious.
11:39I have an inspo pic, too, to show just to kind of help.
11:42He has always, like, the traditional black and white tux.
11:44Okay.
11:45But we do want to just change, I guess, the accessories,
11:47as far as the tie, the belt, and the shoes.
11:49And, like, the handkerchief to bring in more of the fall colors.
11:52But also, for my crew, y'all said that they could be able to rent.
11:57And that is the first time that we have heard that they can rent their suits.
12:01In the prom days?
12:02Yeah.
12:03We all take the pants leg and, like, stuff it all the way up.
12:06Up to make it look.
12:08And then by the end of the night, at the end of the prom, the pants leg.
12:12When it comes to suit shopping, or in this case, shopping and getting fitted for tuxedos,
12:18we know what to expect.
12:20We know going into this shop today that the tuxes are not made to fit us,
12:24and that we're looking at having to have lots of alterations done.
12:29So we are...
12:30So we need to weigh out the difference between if we can rent a tailored to fit us,
12:37or if we're better off just making a purchase.
12:40So you have the expert here.
12:42Stephanie is going to take great care of y'all.
12:44Who do you want to start?
12:45Um, you.
12:46We've got to start with you first.
12:47Yes.
12:48Yeah, the groom.
12:49Can I get anybody anything to drink?
12:50We have beer.
12:52We have mimosas.
12:53We have other vaches.
12:55You had me a beer.
12:55Beer?
12:55Yeah, sure.
12:56Beer?
12:57Beer.
12:58Beer.
12:58I would say shopping with some beer could definitely help.
13:04It would probably make me more motivated to go clothes shopping.
13:10It's good.
13:11It's free and it's cold.
13:13And with Elizabeth, I would definitely probably need at least five or six beers for us to get along while
13:20we close shop.
13:23Just take a few measurements.
13:24Once we look at the measurements, you can actually put them on and kind of see if you like the
13:27fit.
13:28You know, we'll have ties, bow ties.
13:31Bryce, don't be nervous.
13:32You're fine.
13:32Yeah, I'm fine.
13:33You look very handsome, Bryce.
13:36Bryce seems happy, but he is horrible when it comes to making decisions.
13:39And so that's why I'm here to be the decision maker.
13:42Are you sure you want the brown tie and the brown shoes?
13:45I think once you see it all come together, you'll be fine.
13:47I think you're just having a hard time seeing it until you actually put it on you.
13:51You'll be like, okay.
13:53So whenever they were doing all the measurements for my fittings, I was like, gosh, you know,
14:00I'm really ready to get this over with.
14:02I don't know.
14:03It's not really awkward.
14:04It's just like, okay, can we go to the next person?
14:08Mm-hmm.
14:09What do you think, Liz?
14:11It's nice.
14:11I definitely think, do you really like the vest?
14:13I'm very surprised that you're going with the vest.
14:16What, do you not like the vest?
14:17It's up to you.
14:19Up to you.
14:20I think it's a very classic look.
14:21I love the pants.
14:22I love the way the pants fit.
14:23I think once we do the brown shoes and the brown belt, it'll help me visualize it
14:27a little more, but we definitely need to go darker with that tie.
14:29So they had very slim options as far as tie colors for the brown that we're looking for.
14:34So I will be in charge of finding the belt and the tie to match the shoes to finish that
14:41brown look.
14:42I like that.
14:43I think that looks good.
14:44Of course, a different color tie, but it just stands out.
14:47In general, I've just never really been big on clothes shopping.
14:51I just, it just hasn't really been an interest.
14:54You want to know what?
14:55If there ain't no damn fishing hook, fish, piece of camo, animal on it, he ain't gonna
15:02care.
15:03So that's not the color tie, right?
15:05No.
15:05The color's gonna be darker.
15:07I think you need, the more white background, the more it's gonna stand out and pop.
15:10I think real tree camo would look great.
15:12No.
15:13I do have another option if you can, if I can show y'all real quick.
15:16Yeah.
15:17Bryce has brought up wearing camo a few times and I am getting tired of this argument because
15:22I am not having our wedding being remembered as some redneck camo like shindig.
15:29It needs to be remembered as a beautiful wedding.
15:32A wedding can still be beautiful with camo.
15:35No.
15:35So those are the kind of browns.
15:38But it's almost like we kinda, like this fabric is fine.
15:42Like the fabric type is perfect, but it's almost like if it's just a little bit darker.
15:46Yeah.
15:46Okay, so I know you said no to a vest, but we've got the camo tie as well.
15:50Oh my gosh, that's great.
15:52No.
15:52Yeah.
15:53No.
15:54Like that actually looks like I'm out in a deer stand on the wedding too.
15:56No.
15:57He can try it on, but we're not doing that.
15:59I really want to put on this camo vest.
16:03It just caught my eye so quick.
16:06I'm like, gosh, please let me wear this at the wedding.
16:12That's what I'm talking about.
16:13Yeah.
16:13It's great.
16:14I love it.
16:15The white lays good with the shirt.
16:18Yeah, the white.
16:19We're not just telling you that.
16:20No.
16:21Pretty usual, Bryce looks good in camo, and you are having the biggest day of your life.
16:26In a couple of months, why not wear what you look good in?
16:30The men on the couches want to know how do you like it.
16:32I like it a lot.
16:33I don't.
16:34Like this, this is me.
16:36We're not doing camo.
16:39It's very much him.
16:40You chose him.
16:41He is a southern boy, not a redneck.
16:43That's not redneck.
16:45Do we think like Liz should just relax and let Bryce have some fun?
16:51Oh, .
16:51I'm not going to answer that.
16:54You can't walk away from this and say that's not him.
16:57What can you do to make Elizabeth like this?
16:59I don't think there's not a whole lot.
17:01I've got to be nice in front of my father-in-law.
17:03I can't get mean with Jonah.
17:05But Pop hasn't seen that side of me with Jonah, or else Jonah would have.
17:09I cannot wait till Jonah's wedding day, because I'm going to be like,
17:12we're going to put feathers, we're going to have orange.
17:14Jonah, mm.
17:17Not in camo, though.
17:19Oh, that looks awful, Bryce.
17:21I'm giving him a very Bryce-themed groomsmen cake.
17:24That's his surprise.
17:26Set it aside.
17:27No.
17:48So, of course, you know, Bryce loves hunting, and of course they had camo.
17:53So, I was pretty much ganged up on from all the guys wanting to go with the camo.
17:59Chuck, let's ask Dad.
18:01What's he think?
18:03The wedding?
18:04Uh-huh.
18:05The wedding itself?
18:06Yeah.
18:06Just like you like.
18:09Just like you want.
18:11All right.
18:12We're all in agreement with that.
18:14But at the reception, what if he changes to that?
18:22I'm fine with that, because we'll have all the pretty photos out of the way.
18:27Good job, ladies.
18:28Well, those will be like very fun.
18:30Good job, Paul.
18:30Yeah.
18:30Fun photos.
18:32Let's put it this way.
18:32I thought it was a good compromise.
18:34I thought it was a good compromise.
18:36I'm glad that she was for it, for the reception.
18:40But I get it.
18:41I mean, I want it for the wedding.
18:42I mean, I perfectly understand.
18:43As long as I get to wear it, no matter if it's in the reception or not, I'll be happy.
18:48All right.
18:48Cool.
18:49Very cool.
18:49All right.
18:50Everybody else get measured up.
18:53Yes.
18:55I'm feeling pretty okay with Bryce's, you know, suit fitting.
18:59I am, you know, just a little bit nervous when it comes to my family's suit fittings,
19:05because I have Jonah, Alex, and my dad to worry about.
19:10And, you know, they're little people, so that's a lot of fun.
19:13That's going to be a little snug, so we're definitely going to need a 38 in his jacket.
19:18Okay.
19:18When it comes to multiple pieces, like a suit, the measurements are pretty tedious.
19:25We don't want the suit, but, like, the size of the suit to be too long.
19:29We don't want the arms too long, but we don't want the shoulders to feel too tight.
19:33We don't want the pants to look, like, super baggy.
19:36Is the shirt good, or do you want to go up one size?
19:38Because right now, you're kind of...
19:41I mean, I can untuck it, or is it...
19:43I mean, do you think it's too small?
19:45I have not worked with little people before.
19:47I was glad that we did bring an assortment of sizing to kind of weigh out what wouldn't work and
19:52what did work.
19:52This isn't, like, perfect, but it kind of gives you an idea.
19:56Yeah.
19:56We want them to be pretty fitted, but not like skinny jean fit.
19:59Just that nice, comfortable fit.
20:03Feel good?
20:05So there's a lot that goes into the alterations for my side.
20:10Bryce's side is super easy peasy for the most part,
20:13but luckily, everything was fitting everybody pretty well.
20:17Thank goodness, even the shoes.
20:19And then your height?
20:215'1".
20:22No.
20:2351 inches tall.
20:24It's 4'3".
20:25All right, all right.
20:27Okay.
20:27I say 5'1", because that's 51 inches.
20:30Which translates to 4'3".
20:33Okay, let's do your next.
20:35Math, what's this thing?
20:36Biggest challenge is, does it make more sense to purchase these tuxedos and have them permanently altered to fit the
20:46three of us, or for us to rent the tuxedos and have them adapted, which is basically all the legs
20:58and the sleeves tucked up underneath, tucked inside.
21:02So if we went the whole rental route, what's the price for just these three, based on these?
21:08236 with shoes.
21:09236 with shoes.
21:10236 with shoes.
21:11Okay.
21:11And then if we bought?
21:12The jacket is usually around 329 and the pants are like 129.
21:16So right, you know, between 450 to 500.
21:20It'd be great if we could go the rental route, just to see.
21:24So after having a talk with my parents about the whole wedding budget, and now having an idea of what
21:31our wedding budget is, I'm really hoping that we will be able to rent all of the groom and groomsmen's
21:39tuxes.
21:39Yes, but in my experience, I've done modified tuxes where they just tuck it up and then you don't mean
21:48to, but you put your foot in there and you have to make sure you get it all to lay
21:52flat.
21:52You don't stick your foot behind the hem and tear it out.
21:56Okay.
21:57You know, my dad and brothers are not super comfortable with renting these tuxes.
22:02So it looks like they are going to purchase these tuxes to just have altered like we always do with
22:08our clothes.
22:09And it's something that we're definitely concerned about.
22:12I'll do belts and ties, shoes, pants, jacket, shirts are done.
22:17So now that we have finished the suits, I'm just literally thinking about all the dates that we have, the
22:25date for my dress to come in, the date for the suits to come in.
22:28And I am hoping that everything comes in time.
22:31Y'all made it painless.
22:32Thank you very much.
22:34Hopefully we'll be handsome.
22:37High.
22:40High.
22:41High.
22:41Grinding.
22:42Every day.
22:44Grinding.
22:45Trying to make a way I wanna go.
22:46Show me.
22:48Sweep, sweep.
22:49Layton absolutely loves animals.
22:52You know, we took her to a farm where they had a lot of animals that Layton was allowed to,
22:58you know, like, pet and come in close contact with.
23:02Oh, look, here comes the chickens. Look.
23:05In the rooster.
23:07Chickens.
23:07I don't mind.
23:09She loves the chickens.
23:11Yeah.
23:11Bawk, bawk.
23:12Bawk, bawk.
23:13Bawk, bawk.
23:14Look, there's the chickens.
23:16What's the chickens say?
23:17We got him.
23:18Bawk, bawk.
23:20So this gave me the idea of let's get some animals that Layton can play with at the house.
23:27We have some cats, but I think it would be fun to expand and get some chickens.
23:35So, I mean, you can just look up, like, chicken varieties or something.
23:40We had Rhode Island Reds.
23:42I love the silky chickens.
23:45Those are funny looking.
23:46Silky chickens have a very unique look to them.
23:49Oh, it looks like they have, like, fur more than, like, feathers.
23:52That is so cool.
23:54If I had to describe a silky chicken to somebody, I would just say, like, imagine just, like, your ordinary
23:59chicken, but, like, with a bunch of fur and it looks like a big fuzz ball.
24:03And you can't really see their eyes either, so.
24:06I feel like they look like a hot mess.
24:09Layton would love those.
24:10Yeah.
24:11She would.
24:12But it would be so cute to see her, like, go and get the eggs and go and, you know,
24:17do the feed and see if silky chickens lay eggs.
24:21Because I would like fresh chicken eggs.
24:25Yes, silky chickens do lay eggs.
24:27Okay.
24:27You know, they don't lay as many eggs.
24:29They lay, like, every couple days, which is just fine for our family.
24:33Is that dad?
24:34I think so.
24:36Oh, if he comes over here, this is what we'll tell him.
24:39Telling Trent that the family is getting chickens.
24:41I mean, I'm sure he'll have some hesitation at first and he'll be like, eh.
24:47We are thinking about getting chickens.
24:50Oh, Sam Hill.
24:52But silky chickens.
24:53We have been doing our research.
24:55We can actually order silky chickens.
24:58They will be delivered.
24:59This is what kind of chicken we want.
25:02I'll give you 20.
25:03Yeah.
25:06That looks like a child dog.
25:07I know.
25:08So they have to be in the shade.
25:09Are we buying this off of looks?
25:11Yes.
25:12These chickens that they're looking at now, I think they're very cool looking.
25:15I think they're very, like, out of the ordinary.
25:19But when I look at them, I think about, like, witch doc in the 70s and hippies.
25:26Yeah.
25:27So here's something you need to consider.
25:29What?
25:30Real life.
25:31We don't live in the city.
25:33Like, when we had all those chickens last time, we were in the city.
25:35But that was a controlled environment.
25:37If we're going to have chickens here, out there.
25:39Yeah.
25:41There's predators out there.
25:43There's coyotes, foxes, raccoons.
25:46Okay.
25:47And I understand that.
25:48I'm just being for real.
25:48I understand that.
25:49And, I mean, yeah, it was somewhat controlled, but there was issues because we had cars.
25:54I mean, our frickin' chickens were jumping the fences.
25:56And they were snakes.
25:57That's on their own.
25:58We had snakes.
25:59I will support y'all a thousand percent, but I don't touch the chickens.
26:04I don't touch anything.
26:05You don't have to touch the chickens.
26:06You can't even touch them.
26:07I just go by and blow grass on them.
26:11But you are going to help build the coop.
26:13Yeah.
26:14Because I will be at work.
26:16I'm not building this coop because when the...
26:18He is building the coop.
26:19When the tyrants and the predators force their way into this house of feathered flock of chickens,
26:29and a massacre happens, they're going to be like, you didn't build it good enough.
26:34And trust me, he ain't going to be able to sit back and just let y'all do the coop.
26:38He's going to be out there making sure.
26:40He's going to be like, do this.
26:41He's going to be making sure.
26:43Making sure you have all the tools.
26:45Making sure that it's getting done right.
26:47All this.
26:58Hi.
26:59Hi, guys.
27:00Come on.
27:01How are you?
27:02Good, how are you?
27:03Besides it being a little wet today.
27:05It is wet.
27:06How are you, Lizzie?
27:07Good.
27:08Mary Virginia happens to be the same baker that did Layton's first birthday cake and cookies.
27:14So, let's see if she can do a bass fish cake for Bryce's groomsman cake for the wedding.
27:21Tell me what it is that you're looking for today.
27:24So, her father, my soon-to-be husband.
27:28He's just a nice southern gentleman, but he loves to hunt.
27:31He loves to fish.
27:32He loves football.
27:34He loves baseball.
27:35But more besides loving this one and me a lot, he loves fishing.
27:39Okay.
27:40So, I'm thinking, like, a fishing-themed cake.
27:43I am not all for, you know, the pressure of having camo being incorporated into the tuxes.
27:51So, instead, I will be putting some camo into Bryce's groom's cake.
27:57And I don't mind a little camo on that because it gets eaten and then you no longer see it.
28:01Wait, there's sugar.
28:03Oh.
28:04Oh.
28:05The flowers are all sugar.
28:06So, she can't play with them.
28:09I'm sorry.
28:11That's okay.
28:12That's very good, though.
28:14Thanks.
28:15Layton just loves flowers.
28:16And I'm not sitting here thinking she's got edible flowers on display.
28:20I thought the flowers on the wall were real.
28:22And so, Layton was reaching everyone.
28:23I'm like, oh, yeah, she loves flowers.
28:25And Miss Virginia was like, oh, no, she can't touch those flowers.
28:29And I was like, oh, why?
28:31And, because that's a first.
28:32Normally, they're like, oh, yeah.
28:33She's like, those are sugar flowers.
28:34They're not real.
28:35And we're like, easy.
28:38Layton.
28:39Look.
28:39Would you like a flower?
28:41Look, she has a flower.
28:43Layton.
28:44I got you a flower.
28:45Ooh.
28:46Say thank you.
28:49Maybe.
28:50Okay.
28:51There you go.
28:53The big flower.
28:55And then me and Emma were like, we're like playing that game show.
28:58Like, is it cake or not?
28:59And so we're like, it's the default cake.
29:01Because they were beautiful and so realistic.
29:05But that was amazing.
29:07So what we've got left to right is the lemon raspberry with the vanilla bean cake.
29:12Okay.
29:13The almond.
29:14The red velvet.
29:15The spice cake with the pumpkin mascarpone.
29:19And on the end is chocolate chocolate.
29:21Gotcha.
29:24Oh, we'll have our cake and eat it.
29:27Oh, we'll have our cake and eat it.
29:30Oh, that one's good.
29:32I'm excited about this next one.
29:36I don't think Bryce would like that one just because it's too plain for Bryce.
29:40I know.
29:40The velvet cake.
29:43I'm personally not a big red velvet fan.
29:45It's just kind of, I'm interested about this one.
29:50This is more like the fall time flavor.
29:52Yeah.
29:55Definitely not feeling the pumpkin.
29:57We're not at Thanksgiving.
29:58So this cake can't feel like we're at Thanksgiving dinner.
30:00Mm-hmm.
30:00I'm pretty sure dad's greens and cake was chocolate, all chocolate.
30:03Oh, we'll have our cake and eat it.
30:06Make sure I can eat it.
30:10What are you doing?
30:11Are you trying to poo poo?
30:13We gotta clean this up?
30:15Are you trying to poop?
30:17yeah maybe
30:20I think
30:21Layton was trying to work out a poop
30:22the cake tasting we grabbed some breakfast
30:25before we came cause my girls gotta eat
30:27so I think she was trying to figure out
30:28you know working out a poop or letting out some toots
30:30but she was breaking it down
30:32she had to do her thing
30:33I think it's between the raspberry and the chocolate
30:36that's what I was thinking
30:37yeah that's what you were thinking too for him
30:40alright Layton this is where I need you
30:41you're more like your dad than anything
30:44alright Layton
30:45you need to try
30:46you know bite
30:48no bite
30:51I'm so surprised that Layton was not wanting to try
30:54any of the cake cause normally
30:55she loves
30:58this kind of cake
30:59thanks to this one
31:00she's the one that feeds her all the bad stuff
31:02or the stuff that I like
31:04she needs small enough
31:05not the bad stuff
31:05not like horrible but like Layton you want to try a little cat cake
31:08you want a little muffin
31:09I really think
31:11I think it's going to be this one
31:12the lemon raspberry
31:13yeah the lemon raspberry with the vanilla
31:16what do you think
31:18I think we nailed down the winner
31:21the lemon raspberry
31:22and she even said
31:24that's more of Bryce's liking
31:26so since we are finished with
31:28you know designing the groom's cake
31:30I am super excited
31:32but also a little nervous
31:33about how this cake will turn out
31:35because the groom's cake
31:36is just another added expense
31:39and I hope it turns out okay
31:41and is worth the money
31:42I think he will definitely enjoy it
31:44and besides that
31:47as long as you can have it ready
31:48by November 8th
31:49I will have it ready
31:51and there
32:05how many chicken coops are there
32:08it's just one
32:09it turns out
32:11I lost this chicken argument
32:12so now I am helping the kids
32:15build this chicken coop
32:16I knew he would get invested
32:19I definitely think
32:20that piece goes over here
32:21and this piece goes over there
32:22I'm not saying that
32:23instructions have been missed
32:24but I did scroll back
32:25through the instructions
32:26and I don't know
32:27if one of the panels
32:28were twisted or backwards
32:31the two
32:32we'll call it
32:33the runner panels
32:34there was a
32:35back and forth there
32:36for a minute
32:42no
32:43line it on the inside
32:44you have it
32:45you
32:45you have it facing out
32:46wrong way
32:47so in the beginning
32:48when y'all started this project
32:49and you unboxed everything
32:50like
32:50who was captain
32:52who was
32:52who was
32:55like the helpers
32:57we really didn't discuss that
32:59were we supposed to discuss that
33:00I think
33:01so we
33:02by the looks of it
33:03we're reinforcing this thing
33:05because we're missing parts
33:06so
33:07I'm assuming
33:08is it going to be as sturdy
33:09as we want it
33:10to
33:11protect these chickens
33:12from predators
33:13or are we going to have an issue
33:15to answer your questions
33:17there's going to be predators
33:18it's a matter of
33:19whether they can get to them or not
33:20but I also don't know
33:21I don't have a chicken degree
33:23so I don't know
33:23if the chickens are going to
33:24like stress and die
33:26from
33:26like
33:27a coyote running around
33:28outside that pen
33:29we're just saying
33:30you know
33:31if you guys know some
33:32things about chickens
33:33fried chicken
33:35or grilled chicken
33:35how many toes
33:37does a chicken have
33:38five
33:40one two three four
33:42four
33:42so what is a group
33:44of chickens called
33:45a cluster
33:46a flock
33:47can chickens fly
33:50like
33:51in the sky
33:52like all the way up
33:55no
33:57well it depends on
33:58what you're
33:59what you're talking about
34:00but
34:00yes
34:01they can elevate
34:02they can elevate
34:03and go a little bit
34:04and like your bigger chickens
34:05yeah
34:06because we used to have
34:07to clip their wings
34:08do chickens dream
34:10no
34:11yes
34:12and what do your chickens
34:14dream about
34:14eggs
34:15laying eggs
34:17laying eggs
34:18set it down
34:24I'm excited for chickens
34:25are you dead
34:27come on
34:28do you hear the coyote
34:30can you see the whole thing
34:35yeah
34:37you can put rocks around there
34:38and predators will dig
34:39those rocks out of
34:40they'll flip them out
34:40with their paws
34:41that's supposed to be
34:42staked down anyways
34:45that wouldn't hurt
34:46but then again
34:47you want to be able
34:48to move this around
34:48a little bit
34:49we have a whole lot
34:50going on preparing
34:51for this wedding
34:52I mean we have
34:52projects after projects
34:54after projects
34:55and some of these projects
34:56are significantly big
34:58so like
34:59randomly
35:01parachuting in
35:01this chicken hobby
35:03I'm not against it
35:05but maybe the timing
35:06is just not right
35:09you just pull the stakes up
35:12that's going to require me
35:14every time
35:17well you said yes to this
35:18I did not say yes to this
35:20oh well
35:20you didn't say no so
35:24I showed resistance
35:35knock knock
35:36what do you have
35:37yeah
35:38we're going to
35:39rip pearls off your veil
35:41and this is not my veil
35:43let's not use the words
35:43rip
35:45let's say
35:46we're going to take them off
35:47we're going to take them off
35:48to work on the veil
35:49this is obviously
35:49not going to be my veil
35:50this was just lengthwise
35:53because I don't want
35:55whatever really long veils
35:56are called
35:57whatever really short veils
35:58are called
35:59and
35:59oh yeah
36:00I don't want layered
36:01the bottom layer
36:01it's not going to be layered
36:02stuff like this
36:03no I know
36:03but that's the length
36:04you need to go with
36:05it's going to be
36:06one single piece
36:07it's more going to be
36:07kind of like this
36:08how this is just
36:09very light stuff
36:10yeah
36:11ow
36:11ow
36:12well I'm looking to see
36:13if
36:14yeah
36:15that bottom
36:16bottom line
36:17but also
36:17we're mainly doing
36:19the pearls
36:19but you're going to go
36:19get the dress
36:20the plan for
36:22the veil
36:22and the hairpiece
36:23is
36:23I found a designer
36:25that makes
36:26hairpieces
36:27and veils
36:28turns out
36:29and pretty much
36:30I'm going to be
36:32removing some
36:33pearls off my mom's
36:34wedding dress
36:34so I will say
36:36I do like that
36:36yours is more like
36:37pearls
36:38I do like that
36:39more than like
36:39just the sparkle
36:41sparkle
36:41as tradition
36:42you're supposed to
36:43wear something old
36:44something new
36:45that whole
36:46shebang
36:46and I figured
36:47my something old
36:49and kind of
36:50something borrowed
36:51is me making
36:53the hairpiece
36:54for mom's
36:54wedding dress
36:55I would take
36:56more than what
36:57you
36:58you think
36:59because
37:00that way
37:01she has
37:03plenty
37:04I am
37:05I just
37:06take it from
37:06the bottom
37:07I don't want to
37:07necessarily just
37:08take it from
37:08the front
37:09that's the thing
37:10I don't have
37:10yeah
37:11these are just
37:11different sized
37:12round ones
37:13on the bottom
37:14yeah
37:14but that's why
37:15we're taking
37:16more from the
37:16bottom than the
37:16top
37:17because
37:18I don't want
37:18to
37:20take a lot
37:21but you're not
37:21going to be sad
37:22or regret me
37:22doing this
37:23because I'm
37:23doing this
37:23for Emma too
37:25I'll definitely
37:25have to
37:27add a little
37:27bit more
37:28sparkle
