02:07of lush landscapes jaw-dropping historical sites and was put on the map for us Brits by famous
02:14conservationist Gerald Durrell who fell in love with the islands flora and fauna
02:22Greece has got so much to offer you got all the deep stuff like the mythology and Hercules and all
02:29that and then you have the camp fabulousness of Mamma Mia and then you've got Shirley Valentine so I
02:35want to have a bit of everything and I also want to find a Greek God a man oh that's
02:42so gorgeous
02:46just an hour's drive north of Corfu town on the east coast with stunning views across the sea to
02:52Albania our new fixer-upper is nestled in the hillside village of Kokini we have never done a
03:01family holiday home so close to the sea as well so that is what we're doing this year I'm I'm

03:08living a dream I think this the house is gonna be a lot smaller than the one we did last

09:07leave our mark can you transform our stable into a home actually not
09:19and also we got a problem you know the outside stairs but it's so weird having the stairs outside
09:27the traditional houses here they they're being protected by the archaeological department and we have
09:35to follow their regulations perhaps if we gave them some euros no chance me as a honey trap no
09:45way we thought we could do white building blue shutters that would be my dream in a different
09:52island yes Santorini you must have seen Mamma Mia Mamma Mia I'm a little bit young but I remember

10:12family holiday home for the first time we have to gut the entire house removing a dividing wall to
10:18create a big living dining room with the adjoining modern kitchen the patch of land in front of the
10:26house becomes a private Mediterranean garden with an outdoor kitchen and plunge pool as a traditional
10:34coffee at house the external staircase stays put but will reconfigure upstairs to create both master
10:41and children's bedrooms with stunning sea views we'll also turn the landing into a reading room and next
10:49door as ever Amanda has big plans for the Greek themed bathroom why do you want a round

23:07comes to animals inspired by Gerald Durrell's love of animals we want to volunteer at a local sanctuary
23:14it's the cats in Corpins loads of cats loads of dogs yeah but I can't go back with a dog

23:22because I got two rescues already and yeah it's enough it's enough because I got Rita who is deaf
23:30as a post yes Rita and then I took a gamble and got another rescue dog now I've had two
23:36female dogs
23:37before but we had them done so I've never had them you know due on in their cycle yeah and

23:44they say there was dogs running over from the park and doing their having their way with Rita and Rita
23:51was loving it oh my god Alan but then I thought the reason I rescued the two dogs from the

23:57sanctuary was so I'd stop unwanted pregnancies yeah so then I rang up the woman and apparently there is
24:03a morning after jab for your dog there is no yeah so I took Rita down to the vest I'm
24:09sitting in the
24:10waiting room and then the receptionist goes reach a car morning after jab and I was like I could
24:18see people looking at me like judging and I was like don't slut shame my dog oh really peaceful isn't
24:30it oh hello nice to meet you for donkey rescue keen to give back to the island by volunteering our
24:41help across the summer we're meeting fellow Brit Julie glad you found it and her great counterparts
24:48to Mattis who runs Corfu donkey rescue a shelter for 27 donkeys and other animals from across the
24:56island we had a donkey family arrive not so long ago Quinn is pregnant do you know what she's having
