01:24Okay.
01:27His son's name's Aaron Davis.
01:29Supposed to be coming to Rome to see his friend.
01:33Didn't go well.
01:35I wonder where he's at.
01:37The crazy thing is, there was no acceleration.
01:41It's almost like it just rolled off in there or something.
01:44Yeah.
01:46Looks like it's still on though, ain't it?
01:49Yeah.
01:49Yeah, I mean, there's lights on like it's, but it ain't running running.
01:55That water ain't deep.
01:57I don't think he's in there, is it?
01:59I don't know.
02:00I don't know if he's in Tokyo because I used to sign it out.
02:08What happened to the world?
02:09They're pulling into the parking lot.
02:12Yeah, well, we'll get it when we're done clearing this call over here.
02:15I don't know.
02:16I'm distributing.
02:26Hello?
02:27Hey, is this Mr. Reisner?
02:29Yes, this is.
02:31Hey, I'm Lieutenant Sailor from the police.
02:33You doing all right today?
02:34Yes, I am.
02:35I'm looking for my friend right now.
02:37Yeah, that's what I was calling about.
02:39I don't, you hadn't heard from him, I don't guess.
02:41I have not.
02:42I've tried calling him and I just was concentrating voicemail and...
02:45What's the last time you saw him?
02:48I saw him last night.
02:50Okay.
02:52We got people out looking, I guess.
02:54I know a lot of his family's coming.
02:57Yeah.
02:57All right.
02:58Well, if y'all hear from him, let us know, okay?
03:01We will, for sure.
03:02Okay.
03:17Oh, there's somebody.
03:19There he is.
03:22Hey, what's going on?
03:24What's going, dude?
03:26I'm off the ground where the wrong police are from.
03:27We're following up on all this.
03:29So, can you walk me through what's going on?
03:31Just to make sure we're all on the same page.
03:33Yeah, so we started drinking around 12 yesterday.
03:36Yeah.
03:36It's you and Aaron, right?
03:37Yeah, me and Aaron.
03:38Okay.
03:38Anyone else with you guys?
03:40Nope.
03:40Okay.
03:41And, uh, we went to the bars, uh, sometime in the evening.
03:45And, uh, we went to the bars, uh, sometime in the evening.
03:46Uh, and I had bought some red wine.
03:49Uh, and then, uh, started drinking the red wine.
03:53He doesn't drink too often, so.
03:55Yeah.
03:55He had gone upstairs and was just puking everywhere.
03:58It was in the toilet.
04:00It was like standing up and puking for some reason.
04:02Uh, and, uh, I went downstairs and he was telling me that he doesn't need any help.
04:10Uh, and I went downstairs, dropped the bottle, cut my puking.
04:15Mm-hmm.
04:17And, uh, I went to the urgent care this morning.
04:19Uh, and yeah, I bandaged it up, took a shower, went to the-
04:27Okay.
04:28And then woke up 1 to 2 a.m. around that time in his car was gone.
04:34Okay.
04:35And no one else was here during that time?
04:37Do your parents live here too, or do you just live here by yourself?
04:40They do.
04:40Okay.
04:40Are they here right now?
04:41Yeah.
04:41No, they're coming back though.
04:43They'll be, I guess, maybe around 3 or so.
04:45Okay.
04:46Yeah, so not too long from now.
04:49Yeah.
04:49So, how long have you and Aaron been friends?
04:52Since, like, I met when I was in 5th grade.
04:56Okay.
04:56Then, uh, we were, we became more, like, close friends, I'd say, like, around a freshman.
05:06Okay.
05:06I was a freshman in high school.
05:07In high school.
05:08Okay.
05:08Where'd y'all go to school?
05:09Uh, North Forsyth, Iceland.
05:11Oh, okay.
05:12Yeah.
05:13So, he's not from here, you just live here now, and that's why he's...
05:16Yeah.
05:16...had come up here.
05:17I gotcha.
05:18So, when, when's the last time you talked to him?
05:21I don't know, it's hard to keep track of you.
05:22Between 10 to 12, maybe.
05:24Somewhere between 10 and 12?
05:25Okay.
05:29So, this isn't coming with any judgment.
05:31I just didn't know the answer.
05:33That's the nature of y'all's friendship.
05:35Really good.
05:36Y'all don't have any kind of sexual relationship?
05:38No.
05:38No.
05:41Do you have any problem with us checking inside the hall?
05:43No.
05:44No problem at all?
05:45So, you're okay if we go in there and walk around and just take a look?
05:49Yes.
05:49Okay.
05:49You mind hanging out with Officer McQueen while I do that?
05:51No.
05:52No dogs or anything inside, right?
05:53No.
05:53They, they, uh, wait.
05:55I get it.
05:56Okay.
05:57That's fine.
05:59That's fine.
06:0060, I just mentioned.
06:01I'll get a consent search of the resident.
06:05So, no signs of alarm thing?
06:07Not yet.
06:07All right.
06:30Sorry, Brandon.
06:31I'm coming in here with me so you can just show me where I'm going and all that.
06:33Yeah.
06:34This makes it a little bit easier.
06:39Where you want to look?
06:41Oh, give me a second.
06:45I'm just going to have him walk with me to make sure I don't go somewhere where he doesn't
06:51go.
06:51Okay.
06:52It's important.
06:59Okay.
07:00So, you don't normally go in here?
07:01I confess, I did take a couple of baths in there because they have to bat in there.
07:07It normally does in the master, you know?
07:09Because I've been doing laundry from all the peeps upstairs.
07:14Okay.
07:14But anyways, that's my stuff.
07:16Okay.
07:17You want to step back here with him real quick, please?
07:29What about this room?
07:31That's normally the guest room, but Aaron wants upstairs.
07:34Okay.
07:36So, you go in here every now and then, I would guess?
07:38Every now and then.
07:39Okay.
07:44Yeah.
07:44If you hear from him or something, or if you get a text message or anything, don't
07:48you go in here.
07:50Yeah.
07:51I mean, I'm talking about Facebook, Instagram, or anything.
07:53Just let us know.
07:55To what?
07:56Oh, we're just talking about it.
07:57Do you want to check back over here?
07:59No.
07:59The pantry and then there's one over there.
08:02Okay.
08:07Okay.
08:08There he is up there.
08:10Yeah.
08:11So, the bathroom is up there that he was up checking in.
08:15I got you.
08:16Oh, Lord.
08:19Is that what's in the laundry right now, I guess?
08:22Okay.
08:22There he is.
08:53Hey, zero, nine.
08:56I don't know.
08:56I don't know.
08:57I don't know.
08:59Oh, nine.
09:09There's a significant amount of blood next to the bed.
09:19Looks like he's been there a while, but he could have been throwing blood, I guess.
09:25Why are you parenting?
09:25Uh, my mom works at the hospital, he's a doctor, my dad's a little son, I don't know.
09:33It's weird to be throwing up blood like that.
09:37Not to mention, if he had alcohol poisoning, you wouldn't have been able to get up and
09:40move around this morning.
09:43Especially at two or three in the morning.
09:52Hey, you pretty, you pretty close to calling wood.
09:57Still wet.
09:59Might want to come over here.
10:01We got a pretty significant amount of blood on the floor.
10:04We got blood on this armoire thing, and we gonna get out of here and just go back outside.
10:12Trace is with the other guy.
10:14All right, sounds good.
10:19Maybe.
10:21Get out of here and we'll be able to get lost again.
10:25That may be something down there, I don't know.
10:27I can't tell from here.
10:28It's red.
10:31Check the rest of the rooms and pull out.
10:48The sheets are in here.

15:59I don't know.
16:00He took off?
16:02There's a good blood in there.
16:04Yeah, he was washing the sheets.
16:06I think he had heard me when I said the sheets were in the dryer and that's when he took
16:09off.
16:09I didn't even see him run.
16:1047 seconds were not.

29:08Okay.
29:10Um, and for what it's worth, outgoing and ingoing messages.
29:15He's been asking other friends about if they've seen or heard from Aaron Davis.
29:19I don't know why he would have ran.
29:20I think he's just scared, panic attack, I don't know.
29:23But anyway, um, that's all I got for you, so I'd let you know.
29:29Would it be possible for you to let one of the officers take that phone so we can preserve it
29:37in case it's needed for evidence?
29:39Um, you know, I don't, I don't, I mean, I'll tell you, I don't know what happened, but you know,
29:44there's something going on.
29:45So we just need to see if we figure out the truth and the whole story about what's going on
29:52here.
29:53Sure.
29:54Well, you know, like I, I don't know if I mentioned it or not, but you know, when he called
29:58this morning, it was twofold.
29:59It was the vomit upstairs.
30:01Mm-hmm.
30:02And asking Rachel about cleaning it up.
30:05And then the, um, uh, he had cut his hand or finger or something.
30:10And he was asking her if he should bother getting the stitch or whatever.
30:13Okay.
30:14Um, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's blood or something in the house, but I don't know if it
30:18means anything.
30:19Okay.
30:20Um, if, I can get an officer to come down to you if you want to do that or if
30:26you want to walk back up to the residence.
30:28They're there.
30:29Uh, whatever, whatever's good for you.
30:32Yeah, I can work my way that way.
30:33I'm on foot, but I'll get over there eventually.
30:35Yeah.
30:36Okay.
30:36That would be good.
30:39There's a, a knife sitting on the counter in there.
30:42It's sheathed behind the water glass in the kitchen.
30:52I didn't touch it.
30:55Yeah.
30:56And I kind of doubt that'd be the one he used to get out there.
31:02Oh yeah.
31:07Mr. Reisner is on his way back there.
31:11He found his cell phone in the neighborhood.
31:15So daddy's gonna go back there?
31:16No.
31:24What's the status?
31:26We are just now finishing up on a photograph and so, uh, yes, it's gonna take a little while.
31:32Can you tell me if there's evidence of a fight?
31:35Um, you know, I, at this point I really don't know.
31:41However, there is a significant amount of blood in that upstairs bedroom on the carpet.
31:49Do you know when we'll get the house back?
31:50No idea.
31:51It's, it's probably gonna be a couple hours at least.
31:55I understand you found his cell phone.
31:57Right.
31:57Okay.
31:58Uh, we'll probably need to go through it and see where he's been today.
32:02Uh, you wanna turn that over to us?
32:05Maybe.
32:05Maybe.
32:05That's true.
32:11My gut says yes, but at the same time...
32:14Yeah, I mean, we, we...
32:15I don't know.
32:17I want to go, so, as a...
32:19I don't know, as a father, I understand.
32:22Do you have a warrant that would include the phone?
32:25No, we'd have to get one at some point, son.
32:27We couldn't go into it without that, so...
32:29I've looked through it, and he's reached out to friends throughout the day,
32:33asked if they had heard from Aaron.
32:35Okay.
32:36Some texts back and forth.
32:39Um...
32:39Maybe something helps, though, you know.
32:41I know.
32:43I can't promise you that, because I don't...
32:44No, I know.
32:45Yeah.
32:51I called Stallings.
32:53He said the blood in the trunk just appeared that there wasn't,
32:57he wasn't wrapped up in anything.
32:58It just looked like he was in the trunk.
33:00I think he...
33:01I think he bled out.
33:02It's a house.
33:02Do you think he laid on the ground for a while before he moved him?
33:05I think so.
33:10Through the kitchen.
33:13And then it's on your right, once you pass the fridge,
33:16behind the water glass.
33:18There's a black knife that's sheet behind that.
33:25There's a knife there, and there's a couple of more knives in there.
33:28And then there's another one in here with a little sheet right there.
33:31Okay.
33:31Yeah.
33:33Yes, sir.
33:34He's got one with my son.
33:36Uh-huh.
33:38Okay.
33:40Okay.
33:43You guys need a tough spot, I know.
33:46Yeah.
33:47All right.
33:48Well, I appreciate it.
33:49Okay.
33:50Thank you, sir.
33:50Bye-bye.
34:02I'm Detective York.
34:04You're...
34:04We're Brandon.
34:05Rachel.
34:06Here.
34:07Here.
34:08Thanks.
34:32Um...
34:33Y'all can have a seat out here.
34:34I'm gonna take...
34:35Run back there.
34:36And we'll...
34:37We'll talk.
34:49I'll be right back out with you, okay?
35:01Okay.
35:02All right, Brandon.
35:03Anything in your pockets that I need to know about?
35:05Uh...
35:06Wallets.
35:07Real quick.
35:08Anything else?
35:09Uh, no.
35:10Okay.
35:11I'm gonna pat you down real quick, okay?
35:12Yeah.
35:12Do me a favor.
35:13Put your hands on that wall over there.
35:19I'll just pull that flat for me.
35:22I'll just pull that flat for me.
35:24Leave your sleeves up.
35:35All right.
35:37You may have everyone lift your shirt up for me.
35:40Is there a ramp on me?
35:41No, you're good.
35:42All right.
35:44Losing anything?
35:45Turn back around for me.
35:57Turn back.
35:58Face that wall.
36:07All right.
36:08We're out to talk to a lawyer for advice before you are asked questions and have him with
36:12you during questioning.
36:13I would like a lawyer.
36:14You would like a lawyer.
36:15Okay.
36:20All right.
36:21Sit tight for just a minute.
36:22I'll be right back with you.
36:35I'll be right back with you.
36:36Okay.
36:37Rachel, Jeremy.
36:39Would you like to help?
36:43Do you have some questions?
36:44Do you have some questions?
36:46You.
36:48You.
36:50You.
36:51You need to send somebody out to come in the party.
37:22Where might that be?
37:26Old East Rowan.
37:29There's a road that parallels Dean Street on the north side, Dean Street, and it curves and goes up a
37:36hill.
37:38There's an old cemetery up the hill.
37:41You turn left, and its body is left with me.
37:49That's all I'm going to say.
38:01We are in the last day or two.
38:03Have you seen any cars coming through here that didn't recognize?
38:06I would see a truck be sitting right in that area.
38:11All right.
38:12That's the only thing I know.
38:18I'm down at the end of Tumbling Drive, right past Old Cemetery.
38:23We need the coroner down here.
38:26We've got a 10109B recovery.
38:46All right, Brandon.
38:48I told you earlier you were being held for obstruction where you ran from the officers earlier.
38:53Now you're going to be charged with murder, aggravated assault, the obstruction, and hindering the investigation of murder.
39:20Do you know what college college?
39:24Well, Brandon, we brought him home from college last year, or was it early this year, because he was having
39:35anxiety attacks, he was having suicidal thoughts, he was having visions, and we brought him home to make it safe.
39:44He's unconscious.
39:46He stole, he hears things, he sees things, but I only picked him up.
39:55He was as calm and collected as you are right now.
40:13When he ran from the house, he went along the railroad tracks to where he had worked at the time.
40:19In the running, he actually lost his cell phone.
40:22His parents found him where he worked, and he told his father what he had done.
40:28At that point, they go in the car, and they drive to where Brandon buried Aaron's body.
40:35He gives multiple different motives as to why he did this.
40:40One is homicidal urges.
40:42He had taken edibles and witnessed a vision where he felt that he had to kill his best friend.
40:47He had those urges, he wanted to act on them, and he did.
40:52Brandon knew how much Aaron's siblings needed and loved him, but Brandon stabbed Aaron to death, made him suffer first
41:01with that knowledge that Aaron was so needed.
41:05When Brandon stabbed Aaron to death, he ripped our hearts out.
41:11We have been so devastated by the evil actions of Brandon.
41:15Aaron always brought the fun to the house, whether it be entertaining the kids at younger siblings' birthday parties,
41:21recommending TV shows and movies to the family, jumping on the trampoline with siblings, or in countless other ways.
41:27I do believe in both justice and mercy.
41:29The best justice would be for the defendant never to be allowed of custody again.
41:33I do hope that he can find mercy with God and seek help while in custody to be able to
41:37plead with God for his mercy at the appropriate time.
41:40I'm sorry for your loss.
41:46Brandon Reisner, I've come to the conclusion that justice requires you to be sentenced to imprisonment for life without parole,
41:55and that's what I'm going to do.
