The eye-catching feature of the GLB's front is the panel with its illuminated Mercedes-Benz pattern, a fresh interpretation of the classic chrome grille. Seamlessly integrated into its surroundings, this design element incorporates not only the large, iconic Mercedes-Benz star, but also a total of 94 smaller stars in a chrome finish, forming a distinctive pattern in the brand's signature style. The illuminated grille greets and bids farewell to the driver with various animations. Depending on country-specific regulations, the central star may also be fully or partially illuminated.

The larger dimensions benefit occupants, offering, among other things, more legroom in the rear. At the same time, the vehicle's appearance is even more assertive. The striking SUV proportions, with an upright front end, steeply raked windshield, and short overhangs, define the side view. The wide track and the flush-mounted wheels, optionally up to 20 inches in diameter, along with the muscular shoulder line, lend the GLB a powerful character. The compact exterior mirrors on the beltline and the flush door handles with KEYLESS GO (optional) blend harmoniously into the side profile. Wraparound wheel arch cladding and a visual front and rear skid plate emphasize the SUV character. The raised roof rails demonstrate typical SUV functionality and accommodate optional roof rack systems.
