00:02Tobias Harris, Uncle T
00:04six straight games
00:0520 plus points. He's become that number two
00:07scorer that we said they needed and it's
00:09the rebounds. It's his defense
00:11the steals
00:13like it's it's the
00:15it's everything. It's not just one
00:17aspect of the game where he's contributing
00:19and I don't even think he's the story last night. He may
00:21be somebody's favorite part because
00:23there's a lot to love from last night.
00:26All the starters were in double
00:27figures. All of them picked up the
00:29scoring load. Yeah, during with a
00:31double double Duncan with 19 as
00:33well as Dennis Jenkins like that is
00:36Kate is
00:37the guy that everybody's gonna be looking at. He's the
00:39one that stirs the drink, but
00:42for him to only
00:43have 23 points in 42
00:45minutes of that game like he
00:47was on the floor for the vast majority
00:49of that game. It's
00:51the ability for others to
00:53step up after
00:55he had the final three games of that
00:57series like he won that
00:59first round and now
01:01you're looking at it going. Okay, how can we
01:03help him out? Well, there's
01:05the growth that yeah, we're referencing
01:07and Tobias is talking about not
01:09coming in with a lull but carrying
01:11over the intensity and the lessons learned
01:13texture says piston showed tremendous
01:15growth not from round
01:17one to round two
01:19but based on
01:20last year give up a big lead
01:22but didn't falter and sealed the game last
01:24year against the Knicks. They wilted in those
01:26moments. You can see the growth huge
01:28difference. Well, and that's the growth. I
01:30think okay. It is the growth of the team, but
01:32it's really the growth of Cade
01:34because last year
01:36against the Knicks right double digit lead in the
01:38fourth quarter. It got squandered away
01:40and he
01:42didn't do what we wanted him to do or at
01:44least the results weren't there
01:46come in and put
01:48somebody away. Now it wasn't
01:50him with the points. He had three
01:52assists to Duren, but
01:54he came in with five minutes left. I
01:56think that is one of the key moments
01:58of this postseason
02:0093 93 with five
02:02minutes left. He comes off the bench
02:04and just puts Cleveland
02:06away. How
02:09about this text? This is Matt and Graham blank. He says
02:10I was working out in Cleveland last night listening
02:13to your station down there. The
02:14Odyssey station 92 3 the fan
02:16and they said after the game the Pistons
02:19didn't beat the Cavs. The Cavs beat
02:20the Cavs with too many turnovers and played
02:22sloppy and careless all postseason
02:25okay, they're playing against the team
02:27that is one of the better defending teams
02:29in the NBA
02:32some
02:33of that missed shots some
02:35of those turnovers are
02:36because of the defense that you're playing
02:38against. Yeah for anybody who says the
02:40Cavs had 19 turnovers last night
02:42and it led to a ton of Pistons points
02:44and that's not going to carry over. I would just point out
02:46the Cavs have the most turnovers
02:49through eight playoff games
02:50of any team since
02:521996. This
02:54is who they are. This
02:56is what they do against good defenses
02:58and this is what a good defense is going to
03:00do to them repeatedly in this series.
03:02It's one of the keys to the Pistons winning
03:04this is locking it on defense
03:06taking care of
03:08of those opportunities in transition and getting
03:10those gimmies and it's I'm
03:12not going to give the Pistons credit for James Harden
03:14dribbling the ball off his knee
03:16like that's just playoff Harden right
03:18but some of the other ones like Cade
03:20picking his pocket a couple of times. That's
03:22the defense. That's not
03:24James Harden beating James
03:26Harden. That is Cade forcing
03:28those turnovers. It's a SAR
03:30forcing those turnovers. It's a SAR
03:32hustling for the block. Tech
03:34says hopefully Harden doesn't get injured. He was
03:36a walking turnover bricklayer and minus
03:38player. Yeah boy that would be
03:40a bummer. Keep him upright. Play
03:42him 40 minutes. Favorite part was
03:44the ode to Tayshaun. The Thompson
03:46block from behind was awesome Larry and Vassar.
03:48I know it wasn't
03:50the same situation or the
03:52same circumstances but
03:54that's the first thing I thought of as well.
03:57Let's get to Ian Detroit. E
03:58lots of love. Good morning. You're on 97.1.
04:01Oh first and foremost
04:02go blue. Go blue.
04:04Let me be honest with y'all man. The
04:06Stones played their hearts out last night.
04:08Why you gotta troll me? If you say go
04:10blue you gotta troll me with the
04:11Stones. Hey listen man. My bad man.
04:14But listen man. I gotta be honest with y'all.
04:16The stop sign number nine
04:18having 11 points yesterday.
04:19I think that was a deal breaker. His defense
04:22was there. We knew what his defense
04:24was gonna do. But he scored 11
04:26points yesterday. And not only
04:28that. When the game really
04:30mattered. Mitchell couldn't
04:32score. Harden. He took
04:33Harden out the game. Harden was frustrated.
04:36If you look at all their points. They were
04:38garbage points. They were in the
04:40second half when Vassar was getting
04:41rest. But when Vassar got back in the game
04:44they couldn't do nothing. And you
04:46saying the Harden off the knee? It was
04:48off the knee because he was getting pressure while
04:49he was going to the lane. And he
04:51was a forced turnover. We didn't
04:54tip the ball or anything. We bounced it off
04:56his knee. But it was a forced turnover.
04:58I said it yesterday. I'm saying
04:59again. Pistons.
05:02My bad. The stones and
05:03five. Go blue.
05:05Thank you, Eve.
05:08Yeah. Uh-huh. It kind of
05:09sounded like it was a backhanded
05:12comment there. So you guys were talking about
05:13the turnover thing. It's not going to change
05:15now. The Cavs will probably be
05:17at times in this series a little bit
05:19more secure with the ball. It was a little outrageous
05:21last night. I think the bigger thing is
05:23the free throw discrepancy last night. And
05:25that was the Pistons
05:27did that to them. It was 35 to
05:2916 in favor of the Pistons. But Donovan Mitchell
05:31after the game said kind of
05:33planted seeds about the officiating not being
05:35so good, you know, and
05:37but he goes, I'm not a flopper.
05:40Greg, do we have we play that right?
05:41We have Donovan Mitchell.
05:45Donovan Mitchell.
05:49Donovan Mitchell.
05:50Donovan Mitchell.
05:52Donovan Mitchell.
05:53Donovan Mitchell.
05:53Donovan Mitchell.
05:53Donovan Mitchell.
05:56Donovan Mitchell.
05:59Donovan Mitchell.
06:10Donovan Mitchell.
06:11Donovan Mitchell.
06:12Donovan Mitchell.
06:14Donovan Mitchell.
06:15Donovan Mitchell.
06:15Donovan Mitchell.
06:15Donovan Mitchell.
06:15Donovan Mitchell.
06:16Donovan Mitchell.
06:37i'm not a flopper it's not about last night but it's been the entire series the series has only
06:42gone one day he's referencing last round this is a yeah yeah he's a seed planning so pistons fans
06:47watch out for that whistle in game two do you have the the free throw disparity numbers and again
06:52some of this is explained by the pistons were far more aggressive going to the basket
06:56but 35 to 16 in favor of the pistons yeah i don't think we're going to have another game where
07:00they're going to be damn near plus 20 getting to the free throw line right it's i mean it's two
07:06to
07:06one greater the two to one of right of what the pistons were able to do but it's also the
07:10piston
07:10style of play well yeah if you're the more physical team and don't take it from us
07:18calves fans have been calling this team soft so if you have a physical team that sets the tone in
07:22game
07:23one at home they took them to the woodshed yeah it's going to look like that the free throws are
07:27going to reflect that it's not always as simple like i think some fans think that the end of the
07:31game the free throws need to be like close to even well if the teams don't play that way then
07:37the free
07:37throw disparity should be there i think that disparity just in the first quarter was like 10
07:40yeah so it was kind of even after that levels off but early it was tobias getting at jared allen
07:47right and allen got early foul trouble and hardly played now i don't expect him to be in foul trouble
07:53for the series no so there will be more challenges along the way but look just reacting to the one
07:58game we have to go off of that's what it's supposed to look like that's what a one seed supposed
08:02to do
08:03let's get to heather with the news
