00:28of vehicles on site, tipping procedures, the crane, communications, and inside the tipping
00:34hall, and site rules and good conduct, regen employees, regen policies, and general behaviour.
00:49Movement around the site, people, there will be people moving around this site.
00:54Pedestrians should always use the pedestrian walkways and abide by the 5 metre rule.
00:59Even so, you must always look out for pedestrians.
01:02Plant.
01:02To move material around this site, regen utilise loading shovels, yard shunters, telehandlers,
01:13forklifts, HDVs, and 360 excavators.
01:18All plant must abide by the 5 metre rule.
01:20Equipment and material.
01:22Do not assume that objects will remain in the same place every time you are on site.
01:26Only use fixed objects as points of reference for reversing, for example.
01:32The 5 metre rule.
01:34Regen operate a very strict 5 metre rule whereby no vehicles and other vehicles or pedestrians
01:39should be within 5 metres of each other.
01:41This is to ensure there are no pedestrians at risk of coming into contact with vehicles
01:45at any time, or damage to vehicles from a collision.
01:49Contact between heavy plant on site and pedestrians can result in severe crush injuries, loss of
01:54limbs, and even death.
01:56Any breaches of the 5 metre rule will be reported through the accident and near-miss reporting system.
02:03Entering and exiting the site.
02:04Following the arrows from the right-hand side of this map.
02:08After you enter the Weybridge, you will notice the toilets on the right-hand side that you
02:12can use.
02:13Drivers should drive straight up to the entrance road, maintaining a 10mph speed limit.
02:17Beware of people crossing the pedestrian crossing to access or exit the smoking hut that is
02:22located on the left.
02:23Drivers must stop at the barrier.
02:25Tipping instructions will be displayed on the LED screen on the side of the building.
02:29It will direct you to which door you will be tipping into.
02:32You will be reversing into the doors.
02:34Plan your manoeuvre for reversing in while you wait.
02:37The waiting area behind the barrier, where you must wait to be called to tip, is clearly
02:41highlighted in the box.
02:43Wait until the barrier is fully raised before moving off.

03:12After you watch this video and complete the questions, you will follow a link to the link
03:15to an online form.
03:16This form will request a profile picture of yourself to be able to enter the kiosk system.
03:21This is to ensure only inducted individuals are allowed on site.
03:26There are two sets of kiosks, one for weighing in and one for weighing out.
03:31Each set has two different heights to accommodate different vehicles.
03:34You should not have to exit your vehicle to operate the kiosks, but if you do, beware of
03:39the yellow guidance rails at your feet.
03:41This induction is for the waste in, or waste delivery process, and will be applicable to
03:46council employees and subcontractors bringing waste to RegenPile.
03:52The first screen you will see will be the Welcome to Regen Press Start screen.
03:57After you press start, you will be prompted to scan your face on the facial recognition
04:01unit.
04:08Select the reason for the visit.
04:10You will select waste in, tipping, then confirm the registration number for your vehicle.
04:14The Select Customer screen that follows is the council or customer you are driving for.
04:19Scroll left or right to find more options.
04:22Select the correct customer, followed by the material or product you are carrying.
04:33The Select Hawlier screen requests information on the person carrying the waste.
04:37Enter your ticket reference if you have one.
04:40You will then be asked to confirm that all the details are correct.
04:42The process is then complete and the barrier will open.
04:49Although you are leaving, it is still classed as part of the waste in process.
04:53Press Start.
04:54Scan your face on the facial recognition unit.
04:57Confirm your reason for the visit, which will be waste in tipping.
05:01Confirm your vehicle details are correct, and that the displayed details are correct.
05:10Sign your signature if prompted and press accept.
05:16When complete, the barrier will open for you to exit the site.
05:19Wait until it has fully raised before moving.
05:23The Intercom system.
05:24If there is a problem while using the kiosks, you can use the Intercom system on the bottom
05:30right of the kiosk to contact a member of Regen Waste staff who will help you.
05:43After the way bridge and at the top of the avenue, you will wait behind the barrier.
05:48When you look to your right, on the building, you will see a Globeway LED screen.
05:51When the tipping hall is ready, your vehicle registration will be displayed and the door number you should
05:57go to.
05:58As mentioned, you will be reversing in like the driver in the video.
06:02You should plan your manoeuvre while you wait.
06:15Communications.
06:17The Globeway screen on the side of the building will instruct you which door to tip in.
06:21When in the tipping hall and you need assistance, sound your horn and wait for a member of staff
06:25to come.
06:26Do not walk about trying to find a member of staff.
06:28The tipping hall has a tannoy system which will be used when necessary, for example a
06:33breach of a health and safety rule.
06:35Please follow any instruction given to you over the tannoy.
06:40The crane moves tipped material into the shredder.
06:43It rings loud bells before it starts to move.
06:46Sensors in the red line let it know when there is a vehicle tipping.
06:49If a person crosses the red line, it may halt operations, causing a delay.
06:53The crane will not move within 5 metres of any vehicle when it is tipping.
07:04Reverse slowly into the allocated door.
07:06The shutters will close behind you.
07:09Stop your vehicle as close to the shutters as you can to avoid crossing the red line.
07:22As you can see here, this driver has stopped close to the shutters to ensure he does not
07:27cross the red line.
07:28You should ensure all hook loader doors are secured to the side of the vehicles to stop
07:33them swinging when tipping.
07:36Do not cross the red line.
07:38Pedestrians are not allowed to cross the red line in front of the tipping pits.
07:42To ensure you leave enough room for you to open and close your doors safely without crossing
07:47the red line, stop your vehicle as close to the shutters as you can.
07:51When you have opened your doors and are ready to reverse, reverse back slowly until you feel
07:56the edge of the stop block.
07:57It is a good idea to take reference points here for the next time you tip.
08:09You should not shunt forwards and reverse back to empty any remaining waste.
08:14Your rear tyres may mount the stop block, like the vehicle in this video, leading to damage
08:18of property, a rescue or major injury.
08:32When your vehicle has fully tipped, drive forward toward the shutters again before you get out
08:37to check, clean down and close your doors.
08:39When cleaning the back of the vehicle, please use the brushes provided and do not walk under
08:44raised trailer doors.
08:55When exiting the tipping hall, slowly drive out, looking both left and right for pedestrians
09:00and other vehicles, while letting your eyes adjust to the change in light.
09:04Please be patient if the doors don't open straight away.
09:06There may be a vehicle on the other side manoeuvring to tip.
09:25The minimum PPE required for any operatives on site is high-vis clothing, safety boots,
09:30a bump cap and safety gloves when tipping.
09:32You must obey the 5m rule at all times.
09:34This means, if you do not have 5m of clear space to move, then you must wait until you
09:39do.
09:40Communicate your intentions with the other driver pedestrian.
