00:00One week after the killing of Anoushka Eversley at the municipal police station where she worked on April 19, authorities
00:08issued preventative detention orders known as PDOs for seven individuals.
00:13Police say the detainees are linked not only to her murder, but also to the removal of a cache of
00:20firearms and ammunition from the station's repository.
00:23The orders issued on April 26 and published in the official Gazette were followed by criminal charges against three men
00:32from Claxton Bay, Municipal Police Officer Javan Cooper, Nicholas Curtis Ramdas and Kwame Arnold.
00:39They have been jointly charged with murder, possession of firearms and ammunition and robbing Eversley of weapons belonging to the
00:47state.
00:47The remaining four, Shivanand Ramjit of Gasparalo, Nathan Lewis, Josiah Nelson and a minor, are being held under emergency regulations.
00:58They are currently detained at the Eastern Correctional Center while the minor has been remanded to the Youth Training and
01:05Correctional Center.
01:06According to the detention orders, the individuals have been identified as key figures in an organized crime group.
01:13It says they have been credibly linked to the quote-unquote removal of a cache of firearms and ammunition from
01:19a police station, which they intend to imminently distribute.
01:25Officials warn that this poses a grave threat to public safety, with concerns the weapons could be used to fuel
01:31further criminal activity.
01:33In a separate case, a minor from Mova is also being detained under a PDO, described as a stashman for
01:40a criminal network allegedly planning acts of intimidation and retaliatory violence using high-powered firearms.
01:48Arnold Sherry of Production Avenue, Sealots is being detained for being involved in ongoing violent conflict, including planned assassinations and
01:57retaliatory shootings in public.
01:59Giovanni Williams of Bazelon Street, East Rye River is detained under a PDO linked to a plan to imminently carry
02:07out retaliatory shootings against rival gangs in public spaces using high-powered firearms and high-velocity rounds.
02:15And Cairn John of Eastern Corrie Lavent Hill is to be detained at the remanded prison, Golden Grove, for his
02:21operational role within the gang structure.
02:24He is said to be engaged in violent conflict with rival gangs and has expressed intentions to carry out retaliatory
02:31shootings in public spaces.
