00:00I sent you guys this story earlier today, and the reason I knew about it, truthfully, was because I saw
00:05and I heard Joe Rose ranting about it this morning.
00:09But Pro Football Talk put out this story about how the city of Miami, Hard Rock Stadium, has slipped out
00:16of the Super Bowl post-site rotation.
00:20And apparently Stephen Ross had said in the Florida Business Journal that basically Miami is not in line for one
00:29because they lack, I don't know if it's like the amenities or some of the requirements from the NFL for
00:35a Super Bowl, but it doesn't list the exact requirements of what it is they're lacking.
00:41And I don't know what that would be.
00:42From what I've been told, because F1 and the areas ate up a bunch of space that would have been
00:50used for hospitality, also the city, I was told, wasn't as cooperative as other cities were when it came to
01:02giving the NFL every single thing that they wanted.
01:07But I saw someone sum it up best, which was, hey, and I think it's a mistake by the NFL
01:12because I think players, media, owners, sponsors, I think everyone wants to be down in Miami.
01:19Miami should be part of the rotation.
01:21But I think someone had summed it up best I saw on social media was along the lines of, hey,
01:25would you trade F1 every year and the Lipton every year at the expense of maybe a Super Bowl every
01:37six years or seven years?
01:39And I think the answer for most people would be yes.
01:43And I'll tell you, and it's just, as soon as you said it, it popped in my mind because I
01:47was in San Francisco last year.
01:49San Francisco can't tie Miami socks on.
01:53Right.
01:54Tie their shoes on.
01:55You can't tie their socks.
01:56Yeah.
01:57A lot of those crazy people on the streets there in San Francisco, they try to tie their socks.
02:03Yeah, the people that are doodling on the streets tie socks.
02:06It's a mistake to not permit.
02:09It's why I didn't move back to Atlanta because I love South Florida.
02:12It's not just Miami, Miami Gardens.
02:14It's the entire South Florida all the way from the, what, Tri-County area.
02:18Like, it's a gigantic mistake for them to do that.
02:20I don't know how cooperative Miami was, but I've been to a number of Super Bowls, and I've been to
02:25Miami Super Bowls.
02:27No bias behind me.
02:29Miami Super Bowls are better.
02:31The weather, the restaurants, there's so much to do all the way up the coastlines.
02:35Like, it's just, it's stupid, but I would say, just wrestling it now as a businessman, they're opening the new
02:42stadiums.
02:42So, like, SoFi, they want to show off their new toys.
02:46So, anybody that gets a new stadium gets to show off the NFL new toys, and that's what, I think
02:52that has something to do with it as well.
02:54Yeah, but, like, for example, I get that.
02:57And, look, SoFi is an unbelievable stadium, and you can't really argue with L.A. getting a Super Bowl.
03:01Like, that's not a good argument.
03:04But the Dolphins, or I should say, the city of Miami went a decade without hosting a Super Bowl.
03:10After, remember the 2007 edition?
03:12That's the one where the Saints had the onside kick at halftime or whatever.
03:17After that, it rained that entire Super Bowl, and Hard Rock didn't get, or Miami didn't get a Super Bowl
03:24until 2020, if I remember, after that.
03:28Steven Ross put in the money to fix it so that the fans would be covered by a roof, and
03:35he made Hard Rock Stadium,
03:36whether there's, you know, a lack of resources because of the F1 track and because of the Lipton, whatever you
03:42want to say.
03:43Like, he put his own hundreds of millions of dollars to make that into a world-class facility.
03:48It's not good enough for the NFL now.
03:50It's good enough for F1, and it's good enough for one of the premier ATP tournaments,
03:54but it's not good enough for the NFL because they have to put it in Minneapolis because they have a
03:58new stadium.
03:59It's ridiculous.
04:01Yeah, I think everybody's in agreement.
04:02I think if you polled the owners around the league and the players around the league,
04:07like, Miami would be at the top of the list of places they want the Super Bowl.
04:11But there are just other things in play, and I am of the belief, if you were asked or polled
04:19South Floridians,
04:21like, do you want a Super Bowl possibly every seven years, or would you rather have F1 and the Lipton
04:26and all the other additions that Steven Ross has made there, you'd probably take it.
04:35And the, what is it, ingress, egress, that we talk about all the time?
04:39Mm-hmm.
04:41What do we have?
04:42You have university, then you have, what, 127th and the term play?
04:46Yeah, but that's never been a holdup before, so I wouldn't blame it on that.
04:51No, no.
04:51I was going to say, I've been to those other stadiums.
04:54It's not like when people complain about our movement around the stadium, I've been to every other stadium in the
05:01nation, NFL nation.
05:04It's any better.
05:05You're not getting to the Steelers Stadium.
05:07You're not getting to those stadiums in five minutes.
05:09You're sitting in traffic everywhere.
05:11The only thing that we definitely lack is we don't have public transportation to the stadium,
05:16and we don't have a walkable area around the stadium with shops and restaurants and hotels even.
05:23You're not staying at your hotel and walking over to the game.
05:27Oh, it's a Walmart and three gas stations right down 27.
05:31Yeah, I mean, if you want to park at the Sonic, knock yourself out.
05:36Yeah, but I would argue that San Francisco got a Super Bowl.
05:41Santa Clara is an hour drive from the city of San Francisco.
05:45And look, Santa Clara is like a decent city, but I've been to that stadium.
05:49That stadium is not exactly around shops either.
05:52It's just in the middle of nowhere.
05:54And again, it's an hour drive away from San Francisco.
05:58So I don't know.
05:59I understand the idea and the logic that Miami Gardens isn't exactly like this premier destination,
06:04but you can't argue with the facilities and what's been built there in terms of it being world class.
06:12I mean, the World Cup is going there.
06:13You know, like you can't argue.
06:14Listen, and you bring up San Francisco being an hour away.
06:18Fort Lauderdale Beach is probably 45 minutes from the stadium.
06:21South Beach is probably, what, 40 minutes from the stadium.
06:24Los Olos is away from the stadium.
06:26But I don't have to dodge human waste on Fort Lauderdale Beach, South Beach, or Los Olos.
06:32Come on, man.
06:33Don't act like San Francisco is a better city than Miami.
06:35It's just crazy to think that.
06:38And they've got that magnetic field that put everybody at risk as well during the Super Bowl.
06:44My knee still hurts.
06:46Christian McCaffrey can't even walk.
06:4825 in the background loses theback, 60 minutes from therum poängen to the to pozorn castle.
06:48start again. You boys
06:48can't wait until the middle. Kong.
06:48It's
06:49been — A Linkedin.
06:50I don't know.
06:51I don't know.
