00:00All right, let's go to Joel Embiid.
00:02Obviously, he was a determining factor in that series against Boston.
00:06Boston, again, Jason Tatum, obviously not the same player
00:09coming back off that knee injury here.
00:11In your opinion, Rick, give me your takeaway on Embiid
00:14when you watch him play.
00:15He spends more time on the floor than any other guy I've ever seen.
00:19He's always banged up.
00:20Ever since he won that MVP award, he's just not been the same.
00:24But yet, you talk about a seven-footer that shoots threes.
00:27I mean, he's such a skilled guy.
00:30You tell me your takeaway when you see him play.
00:33Well, he's very talented.
00:34I mean, like you say, he has a myriad of skills that he can do,
00:37you know, to pull a defense out the center and shoot the three-point shot.
00:40He can go inside and score.
00:43He's got great body control.
00:44I mean, some of the moves and things that he made,
00:46he gets some of the three-point baskets that he winds up with.
00:48He can shoot the free throws, really well.
00:50So, yeah, his biggest problem has always been his health.
00:53I mean, you know, there's a lot of guys that fall into that category.
00:55I mean, one of the greatest of all time.
00:57God rest his soul.
00:58I can't believe we lost him.
00:59But Bill Walton, who became a great friend of mine,
01:02Bill Walton was another guy with the injuries.
01:04I mean, God, how good would Bill Walton have been
01:06if he was healthy for his whole freaking career?
01:09And that's the issue that happens, Giannis.
01:11These other guys, the big guys, seem to wind up getting hurt.
01:14I guess maybe you're better off being like the Joker
01:16and not doing all these things in a high flyer
01:19because you don't have to worry about maybe getting hurt as much
01:21because the Joker, other than that one injury he had this season,
01:24has been relatively healthy
01:25because he's not doing all those crazy acrobatic things.
01:28Those guys that do that seem to put themselves
01:30in a much more precarious position
01:32where they can pick up these injuries.
01:34But Embiid healthy is as good a center as you would want to have.
01:37Why would you not want to have him?
01:39But the problem is, is he going to stay healthy?
01:40Let's see.
