00:02:24the bag and it blows up on them?
00:02:26No, I wish I did.
00:02:28All I have is like bait money that has a tracker and I give that to them that way I
00:02:32can track
00:02:33them.
00:02:33The bait money?
00:02:34Yes, the bait money.
00:02:37I have a lot of fun at work.
00:02:39Fun is what makes the day go by.
00:02:41If we can't have fun, then I don't want to work with you.

00:02:47Uh-oh.
00:02:48Anyway.
00:02:49Now he's worried.

00:02:51So I sing around my town and I also grew up singing in church, so I sing in church every
00:02:55Sunday with my family.
00:02:57So this whole family is a singing family, yeah?
00:03:00We have this saying, there's a difference in singing and singing.
00:03:03And we believe she can sing.
00:03:06She can sing?
00:03:06We can sing.
00:03:07Oh, you can't sing?
00:03:08No, we can't sing.

00:03:17Never met a man quite like you doing all you can, making my dreams come true.
00:03:35You got the charm, you simply disarm me every time.
00:03:44As long as you drive, I'm along for the ride your way.
00:04:15Oh, he's gone.
00:04:18Oh, you, you alone, yeah, yeah, out for me.
00:04:28I know you're the best.

00:09:24Any day of the week
00:09:25I don't think we've seen a star, star, star like you yet
00:09:34I wonder do we have any valedictorians in this class
00:09:37Where did you rank in your class, Carrie?
00:09:39I was salutatorian
00:09:41But the only reason I wasn't valedictorian
00:09:44Is because two of the classes I needed
00:09:47Were at the same time
00:09:48So you could have been it
00:09:50Yeah
00:09:50And I remember talking to the counselor like
00:09:52This isn't fair
00:09:53What were you?
00:09:55I was not in the running
00:09:57You didn't qualify
00:09:59I was known back then as Lionel who?
00:10:03I didn't even know I was in the class
00:10:06Oh, God
00:10:07How are you feeling?
00:10:09Good, I'm excited, I'm nervous, happy to be here

00:10:16Feels incredible to have my family here
00:10:18Because they definitely shaped me into the young woman I am today
00:10:22And I don't know who I'd be without them
00:10:24Love you so much
00:10:25I've just been trying to think all the positive thoughts
00:10:28Manifest all the things
00:10:30But the fact it's all today
00:10:31I think it's kind of stressed me out a little
00:10:33Oh, my God
00:10:34I don't know why I'm so nervous
00:10:35I'm sorry
00:10:37Come on in

00:11:14You got it
00:11:16I see the parties and the diamonds
00:11:19Sometimes when I close my eyes
00:11:20Six months of torture you sold
00:11:22Some forbidden paradise
00:11:24I loved you truly
00:11:25Gotta laugh at this stupidity
00:11:28I made some real big mistakes
00:11:32You made the worst one look fine
00:11:35I should have known
00:11:37I should have known it was strange
00:11:38You only come out at night
00:11:42I used to think I was smart
00:11:45You made me look so naive
00:11:48The way you sold me for parts
00:11:52As you sunk your teeth into me
00:11:55A blood sucker
00:11:58Dream crusher
00:12:00Bleeding me dry
00:12:01Like a damn vampire
00:12:06You said it was true love
00:12:08You said it was true love
00:12:09But wouldn't I be hard?
00:12:10You can't love anyone
00:12:11Cause I wouldn't mean you had a heart
00:12:13I tried to help you out
00:12:15I tried to help you out
00:12:15Now I know that I can't
00:12:16Cause I think she's the kind of thing
00:12:18I'll never understand
00:12:24I made some real big mistakes
00:12:27You made the worst one look fine
00:12:31I should have known it was strange
00:12:34You only come out at night
00:12:37I used to think I was smart
00:12:40You made me look so naive
00:12:43The way you sold me for parts
00:12:47You stuck your teeth into me
00:12:50A blood sucker
00:12:55Dream crusher
00:12:58Bleeding me dry
00:13:01Like a damn vampire
00:13:18I am so happy for us

00:14:11In January of 2025

00:14:19So much of our community
00:14:21Burnt like my preschool
00:14:23The first theater I ever performed in
00:14:25The home that I lived in until I was five
00:14:28My childhood best friend's homes
00:14:39It was a really
00:14:40It's been a really hard time
00:14:41Seeing the town that I grew up in completely gone
00:14:47After the fires it was really hard to just
00:14:49Find joy in the little things
00:14:51But it's taught me a lot
00:14:52It's taught me when everyone comes together
00:14:55It can be so strong
00:14:56Well sorry for all of that
00:14:58I know the pain that
00:14:59That community is going through
00:15:01And to have such a bright spot like you
00:15:04To come in and represent is fantastic
00:15:05Thank you
00:15:07I want to vote

00:26:54it's been a good day hello hello hey
00:27:00tell us all about yourself uh my name is sheldon riley i'm 26 years old from melbourne australia
00:27:07melbourne what you doing here american idol huh you're crazy
00:27:16i wanted to do music since i was a really young kid
00:27:19when i was maybe about 15 years old i sung at my school and uh i remember that first applause
00:27:25i was
00:27:26like yeah this is what i want to do i love the way it made me feel i love the
00:27:29way that it made me
00:27:30feel noticed about 10 years ago i auditioned for a big tv show back in australia
00:27:37it's my big moment and i uh sung my song and they said it wasn't quite enough
00:27:45just you singing it's not enough
00:27:47i said don't lie so i made the truth that experience made me doubt myself it made me feel i
00:27:53had to
00:27:53play a character just to be seen i kind of created this character that dressed up like
00:28:00crazy the most avant-garde high fashion crystals and diamonds and it was the thing that made people
00:28:06see me it just kind of took off i had opportunities like crazy not just australia but the entire world
00:28:15characters have no new show i've been on every tv show competition known to men i've done it all
00:28:22and uh the art was just got getting crazier and crazier and crazier it almost felt like an addiction to
00:28:28be the most memorable person in the room but i'd come home i'd take the mask off the makeup the
00:28:36accessories the everything and i would hate the person that i saw in the mirror hated that version of
00:28:45me
00:28:47so i took two years off and remembered uh why that little kid got up on stage that first time
00:28:54and this is the one show there's no smoke there's no mirrors no nothing and i said to myself if
00:29:00i was
00:29:00going to come back into music it would be here with just the piano and just me and and if
00:29:05you don't
00:29:05like it you don't like it i don't ever know if anyone's ever really going to want what i have
00:29:09to
00:29:09give without everything that i usually put on that's a big part of why i'm here just to remind myself
00:29:17that uh my voice is enough everybody's got their version of what you just said you know
00:29:24everybody's got their mask whether it it is something physical that they hide behind or
00:29:29this this certain identity that they've created for themselves and you know then of course you do
00:29:35worry that if i wasn't that would anyone still love me yeah you're very relatable oh thank you
00:29:42what are you gonna sing for us today this is a brother by matt corby it's a australian singer yeah
00:29:50all right thank you
00:30:00oh
00:30:11somebody call out to your brother he's calling out your name oh
00:30:17oh
00:30:19hiding under the covers with no one else to play oh
00:30:26you couldn't help out your own neighbor you couldn't tell it to his face you were messed up by the
00:30:34play
00:30:34yeah
00:30:38you're carrying the car in the corner can't fight it farther let it out and say
00:30:46yeah
00:30:56oh
00:31:01oh
00:31:02did acknowledge you were a fake, here and from, then you might just go, oh, oh, somebody call out to
00:31:21your brother, he's calling out your name, oh, yeah, yeah, you're gonna know about your own neighbor,
00:31:32you couldn't tell into his face, you were messed up by the blame, yeah, wow, thanks, you're crazy talented, crazy
00:31:51unbelievable, thank you, don't know why you ever had to wear the mask, because you're an amazing looking person, you
00:31:58being the loudest guy in the room,
00:31:59you don't always have to be that, being the most dynamic singer in the room, you don't have to be
00:32:04that, it's okay to just peel a layer off, but that was impressive, thank you, you're an artist, man,
00:32:11and you're authentic, I love watching someone in their moment, you have stage presence, it's all there, accept you, embrace
00:32:25you,

00:43:19I grew up in a super musical family
00:43:21My dad worked at the lead mine for several years
00:43:23One evening he was just feeling like God was calling him to do something different with his life
00:43:27So in 2009 my parents quit their jobs and we bought a bus and we went on the road as
00:43:32a family band
00:43:34The tour bus was 40 foot long
00:43:37It was bright red
00:43:38And we lived on the bus for seven years
00:43:41We just would go coast to coast and play banjos and sing for the Lord
00:43:46It was a very unconventional upbringing
00:43:48But I literally wouldn't trade it for anything in the world
00:43:59We didn't come back into Missouri until 2016
00:44:01We settled back down
00:44:03And then I met my husband
00:44:04We got married
00:44:04And we found out we were pregnant with our first baby
00:44:07Like four months after we got married
00:44:10Oh, right in the noggin
00:44:12I'm sorry buddy
00:44:13Then one turned to three really fast
00:44:16With three boys it comes a lot of chaos
00:44:19And a lot of fun
00:44:23Sai, why are you standing up there?
00:44:28It's just hectic at all times
00:44:40I'm trying out for the show just because I want the opportunity to give the boys the same life that
00:44:43I had growing up
00:44:44In a bigger way if possible
00:44:46To be able to sustain my family and do music full time
00:44:52I have two boys
00:44:53They make things more interesting
00:44:55Oh, for sure
00:44:56Mine's been screaming all day
00:44:57Good, yay
00:44:58That's great
00:44:59Love it
00:45:00What are you going to sing for us today?
00:45:02I'm going to sing an original that I wrote called String Cheese
00:45:04You're like my favorite person
00:45:06You're wearing homemade clothes
00:45:08You're singing songs called String Cheese
00:45:10What's the song about?
00:45:11My youngest is one
00:45:12And shortly after he was born
00:45:14I had postpartum depression
00:45:15And so I was sitting on my couch
00:45:16I said I wasn't going to cry
00:45:20I was sitting on my couch wallowing
00:45:24And you have boys, you know
00:45:26Everybody wants to touch you
00:45:28And I didn't want to be touched
00:45:31And my youngest son
00:45:32Like I was just having a pity party
00:45:35Praying that the Lord would calm my spirit
00:45:40And my son kept coming up to me
00:45:41He said, Mom, open this
00:45:42Mom, open this
00:45:43Open my cheese
00:45:44I'm like, leave me alone with the dadgum cheese
00:45:46And I finally opened his cheese
00:45:48And when I did
00:45:48I realized that God had put me in that place
00:45:50And that where I was in my house
00:45:52Was the biggest ministry that I could ever have
00:45:55And being a mom
00:45:56So I gathered myself
00:45:59And I got up off the couch
00:46:00And I quit throwing a pity party
00:46:01And I realized that
00:46:02That was exactly what I wanted
00:46:05And I kind of kicked the postpartum depression in the butt
00:46:08And I said, I ain't doing it
00:46:09There you go
00:46:10So I wrote this song called String Cheese
00:46:14Do you need a second?
00:46:15I want to give you like
00:46:16Probably just give me one second
00:46:19I can't cry and sing
00:46:21So I don't want to put you in that position
00:46:24That is a tough one
00:46:24Here
00:46:25Thank you so much
00:46:32Ready?
00:46:35I think so
00:46:47I wore my morning coffee up for the third time
00:46:53Missed Rachel on the TV
00:46:56With their favorite nursery rhyme
00:46:59Hot wheels and little people under my feet
00:47:05Baby's crying
00:47:07It's pure chaos
00:47:08But I don't miss a beat
00:47:12Always knew that a nine to five
00:47:15Wouldn't suit me very good
00:47:17But my hours are extended
00:47:20That's just motherhood
00:47:23I never knew this is what
00:47:27My twenties would look like
00:47:30But they saved me before I had the chance
00:47:34To waste my life
00:47:36One day I'll be alone
00:47:39With a hot fresh cup of joe
00:47:42Wishing that someone would just drop me by
00:47:47And I'll sit and reminisce
00:47:51On times that I sure miss
00:47:54I've scattered toys and a baby on my hip
00:47:59I thought finding peace in the quiet
00:48:04It's what I wanted
00:48:06But I'd do anything to go back to being needed
00:48:11To those days
00:48:14To those days I want to cry
00:48:16Run away and hide
00:48:19But I'd worry about their every need
00:48:23When I'm overwhelmed and touched out
00:48:28They come climbing up on the couch
00:48:32Saying mama can you open my string cheese
00:48:37I smile because I know
00:48:40Meeting their needs fills my soul
00:48:43Being their mama is who I'm meant to be
00:48:53That's great
00:48:54Do you have more questions?
00:48:55Oh
00:48:56My turn
00:49:00This pack is going quick
00:49:05Well that's about the most relatable song
00:49:08I think I've ever heard
00:49:11Hannah
00:49:13Great job
00:49:14Thank you
00:49:14Great job
00:49:15Just with that mountainous bluegrass
00:49:19Sound that you have in there
00:49:20I kept thinking like
00:49:22Casey Musgraves is in there
00:49:24I kept thinking
00:49:25Certainly Alison Krauss
00:49:27Like a little dolly
00:49:28A little dolly in there
00:49:30And gosh even if we got you to lean in more on it
00:49:33Fill the room a little more
00:49:34You're going to be able to move some people
00:49:36It's a great song
00:49:37Way to really write the moment you're in
00:49:40Yeah
00:49:40I want you to use dolly as the example of two things
00:49:44One her storytelling ability
00:49:47And two she has the ability to tell that story
00:49:50And then give us a lift
00:49:52You've got the range
00:49:54I would have loved to have found you
00:49:55Just on one of those lines
00:49:56Just hold it for a minute
00:49:59I was going up but
00:50:00Then I chickened out
00:50:01Because I was crying
00:50:02Yeah it was hard to come from a tear
00:50:03It is
00:50:04You might be my favorite person
00:50:06That's walked through those doors
00:50:07In the past three days
00:50:09You're my new best friend
00:50:10You're gorgeous
00:50:11Thank you
00:50:12Like you look famous already
00:50:14I just think you have
00:50:16Just a beautiful simplicity to your voice
00:50:19You're one that I'm going to think about
00:50:21When we leave here
00:50:22Like I wonder what song she's going to sing next
00:50:24And I feel like I'm going to be just rooting for you
00:50:27I loved everything about everything
00:50:30You just did
00:50:31Thank you so much
00:50:31I mean it's a yes
00:50:32I'll go first
00:50:33It's a yes for me
00:50:34I'll go second
00:50:34It's a yes for me
00:50:36Yes for me
00:50:37Heck yeah brother
00:50:38You get this
00:50:39You are going to Hollywood Week
00:50:41Thank you
00:50:42It's nice to meet you too
00:50:43Oh my god
00:50:46I'm chicken
00:50:47Just making you go under
00:50:50Hearing Carrie say that I was one of her favorite people
00:50:52That has walked through the doors
00:50:53I almost melted in my boots
00:50:54That's the biggest compliment I've ever received
00:50:56She was great
00:50:57Oh my goodness
00:50:59It means a lot to me
00:51:01To get up there and stand and represent other moms
00:51:04And let them know that they're not alone
00:51:06And let them know that they can still chase their dreams
00:51:08With their little people
00:51:09Some real juice on that one
00:51:13Unassuming sweet
00:51:15Perfectly moldable into stardom
00:51:21And I'm going to love you
00:51:23So we're going to get you here
00:51:27Can you help me put it on the fridge?
00:51:29I'm going to love you
00:51:31Good job
00:51:39Don't worry, love
00:51:40No, you don't have to wait
00:51:42She said love don't come easy
00:51:46It's a game of give and take
00:51:48I'll remember mama's bed
00:51:49Oh, I miss me
00:51:50Have you seen the guy do the
00:51:53With pins and stuff?
00:51:54Is that one of your TikToks?
00:51:55Yeah, that's TikTok
00:51:56I can tell right away
00:51:57He's on the TikTok doom scroll
00:52:03Oh, man
00:52:04I remember swearing off TikTok
00:52:06And now I'm a TikToker
00:52:08Pretty little baby
00:52:10You say that maybe
00:52:11Is he down?
00:52:12You'll be thinking of me
00:52:13Is he down?
00:52:14And try to love me
00:52:16Pretty little baby
00:52:17I'm addicted to TikTok
00:52:19I'll just go on and say it
00:52:20If anybody wants to intervene
00:52:23You can ask the flowers
00:52:25Hey
00:52:35And now I'm actually scrolling
00:52:37Finding talent
00:52:38That somehow makes it
00:52:40In front of us judges
00:52:41Pretty little baby
00:52:43Well, tell us how you made it here
00:52:44Somebody happened to see me
00:52:46That's right
00:52:48What's your dreams in music?
00:52:50I want to go from being a TikTok singer
00:52:53To a real singer
00:52:54And I also really want a Birkin bag
00:52:55Oh
00:52:57I've been everywhere
00:52:58Man, looking for you, babe
00:53:01Looking for you, babe
00:53:03Searching for you, babe
00:53:05But, Lord
00:53:06I've had a lot of no's
00:53:07I don't want to tell you no
00:53:09Because I feel like I'm responsible
00:53:10For bringing you here
00:53:11But it's a no for me right now
00:53:13Don't tell him I've gone crazy
00:53:16It's going to be a no for me this trip
00:53:18I agree
00:53:19It's a no for me
00:53:21Obviously, I'm learning that TikTok has filters on it
00:53:24To make you sound amazing
00:53:26So maybe I need to go find those filters
00:53:29And sing on them myself
00:53:31All right
00:53:31Tell the world how you arrived here
00:53:33I had somebody message me
00:53:35And they were like, hey, come on in
00:53:36Well, I might have seen you on TikTok
00:53:40But I must say currently
00:53:41I'm 0 for 2 on TikTok referrals
00:53:44We will know where this is going to be
00:53:48Come on
00:53:48I think I'm going to be okay
00:53:50Yes, sir
00:53:51Yes, sir
00:53:52I think I ended the slump, Lionel
00:53:54I dare you
00:53:55You will now
00:53:55Probably leave
00:54:00Woo
00:54:02What's thank, Carrie?
00:54:07I'm a yes
00:54:09Lionel
00:54:10Congratulations, Luke

00:54:24Mr. Luke Bryan
00:54:25Thank you so much for getting me here
00:54:28After seeing my TikTok
00:54:29You did it
00:54:31Finally
00:54:32I was told that I saved Luke Bryan's career
00:54:35And you totally redeemed yourself
00:54:37All at the pop shop
00:54:40We do
00:54:42Let's go

00:55:23I think so, too
00:55:24We're gonna start some fights
00:55:26I think on the show
00:55:28She's definitely still her silly self
00:55:30She's a little crazy
00:55:32And I love it
00:55:33Ding, ding, ding
00:55:34Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding
00:55:35I have an announcement
00:55:37What about me?
00:55:38You guys, seriously
00:55:40What about me?
00:55:42What about me?
00:55:46Brittany has always been a very big mentor to me
00:55:50So get out there
00:55:51Get in, Carmen
00:55:52Okay
00:55:53She has her own spotlight
00:55:54She's living out her dream
00:55:56And that's why I'm here, too
00:55:58She is music
00:55:59I mean, she radiates music out of her pores
00:56:02You look about it
00:56:03It just explodes
00:56:05Yeah
00:56:05She bubbles in light
00:56:07Yeah
00:56:09Carmelita
00:56:10That's my theme song
00:56:11You go in there and you rush it
00:56:13My lovely Carmelita
00:56:14Brittany, you could stand to the side
00:56:16And just sing Carmelita
00:56:17As she comes in
00:56:18And they don't know what this is
00:56:19That's the entrance
00:56:21Carmelita
00:56:23I really should do that
00:56:24Does anyone have a glass and a knife?
00:56:28Why do you have a wine glass?
00:56:30Uh, you'll see
00:56:35Howdy, howdy, howdy
00:56:36Hello
00:56:36Whoa, wait, what?
00:56:38What's happening?
00:56:39Hi
00:56:40How are you?
00:56:41How are y'all?
00:56:41What do you have?
00:56:44I have an announcement
00:56:45What is the announcement?
00:56:47This is my beautiful niece
00:56:50Carmelita
00:56:50That's been her nickname since she was born
00:56:53Carmelita?
00:56:54That is me
00:56:54Do you know me?
00:56:56I'm Brittany
00:56:58Brittany Bateman
00:57:01The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City
00:57:03Oh, we are
00:57:04Yes
00:57:04But this is not about me
00:57:06This is about my amazing, gorgeous, perfect niece
00:57:09Hi
00:57:10Who you're about to hear
00:57:12And it's insane
00:57:13Well, if we don't have good things to say
00:57:15She has a knife
00:57:16She has a weapon
00:57:17So, alright, Miss Brittany
00:57:18You can go right there on that X
00:57:20Be careful
00:57:21Don't fall over there
00:57:22Give away the spotlight to the niece
00:57:25Alright, let's hear it
00:57:26Let's hear it
00:57:26Okay
00:57:27Do you guys want this?
00:57:29Yes
00:57:29For good keeping?
00:57:30Oh, good keeping
00:57:31Sure
00:57:31Yes
00:57:32Let's do it, Miss Carmen
00:57:33Okay
00:57:34I woke up with a headache today
00:57:44Cause I've got a mortgage due
00:57:47And an empty bed to make
00:57:54Baby, I bet you're happy now
00:58:00Probably found just someone new
00:58:02Who's got his life all figured out
00:58:09Girl, I thought it was love
00:58:17Girl, I knew it was love
00:58:24I guess I didn't know what love was
00:58:40Good job
00:58:42You have a really pretty voice
00:58:45Like your range is really great
00:58:47You're hitting some high notes in there
00:58:49Yeah
00:58:50But it would be great
00:58:51If you could put some oomph in there
00:58:53Yeah
00:58:53We actually might have something
00:58:55To sing together
00:58:56Okay
00:58:56Oh
00:58:57Oh, cool
00:58:58Let's hear y'all do one
00:58:59Okay
00:59:00Let's hear where you go
00:59:01Just sing
00:59:01Have fun like you're in the living room
00:59:03You got it
00:59:04Okay
00:59:05Let me be your star
00:59:13I just have to forget the hurt that came before
00:59:19Forget what used to be
00:59:22The past is on the cutting floor
00:59:27The future is here with me
00:59:34Choose me
00:59:38It's all you've been needing
00:59:41It's all here and my heart's pleading
00:59:44Let me be your star
00:59:56Oh, great
00:59:59Wow
01:00:02I learned
01:00:03Friends and the family
01:00:04I learned something
01:00:05It's very good
01:00:06It was very present there
01:00:08We just got to get you to cut loose a little bit
01:00:10I think the piano is forcing you to be very proper
01:00:13Oh, you should see me with a band
01:00:15Well, we got to get you to the band
01:00:18That's very true
01:00:19That's very true
01:00:20I think that the only way she's going to actually understand this thing called roughing up
01:00:26Is to put her in a brawl
01:00:28And the only way to put you in a brawl is to say yes
01:00:31So you can go to the next level and meet the rest of this crazy class
01:00:35And you'll understand what this means
01:00:37Oh, yeah
01:00:38Okay
01:00:38So it's a yes for me
01:00:40Okay
01:00:40I think your voice has definitely earned you a yes
01:00:44But I want to see some fire
01:00:47I can show it
01:00:48I kind of believe you can
01:00:49Is a yes
01:00:51Hey
01:00:53Let me see the glass
01:00:54Boom, boom
01:00:55Ding, ding, ding

01:04:03Love you
01:04:03Love you
01:04:05My name is Braden Rumfelt
01:04:07I'm 22 years old
01:04:09And I'm from Murphy, North Carolina
01:04:16When I was young
01:04:18My life revolved around baseball
01:04:20My twin brother
01:04:21Kellen and I
01:04:22Played sports
01:04:23Constantly
01:04:25Dad was dead set
01:04:27On us becoming
01:04:28College athletes
01:04:32Unfortunately
01:04:33Going into high school
01:04:34I was starting to have
01:04:34Knee pain
01:04:35In both of my legs
01:04:38Then I found out
01:04:39That I have a
01:04:40Congenital issue
01:04:42My legs
01:04:43Are naturally
01:04:44In the wrong position
01:04:48I needed surgery
01:04:49I needed two
01:04:49Lower leg
01:04:50Realign
01:04:53That put a
01:04:53Stop to
01:04:54The dreams
01:04:55Of becoming
01:04:55An athlete
01:04:58It was tough
01:04:59Seeing everybody
01:05:00Be able to
01:05:00Get to do
01:05:01What I wanted
01:05:02To do
01:05:04As I'm hurt
01:05:05It kind of hit me
01:05:07Like wait
01:05:07I feel better
01:05:09When I am singing
01:05:10And my twin brother
01:05:11Kellen was there
01:05:12For me
01:05:14He was kind of
01:05:15Like my voice
01:05:15Of encouragement
01:05:19Growing up
01:05:20Until now
01:05:20I always felt
01:05:21That his talent
01:05:22Is music
01:05:24Is singing
01:05:24And I couldn't
01:05:26Be more proud
01:05:26Of Brayden
01:05:27Because of
01:05:28Everything that
01:05:29He's going through
01:05:29Where he's at now
01:05:31With pursuing
01:05:31His new dream
01:05:32He's my hero
01:05:35The only reason
01:05:35That I hadn't
01:05:36Signed up for
01:05:37American Idol
01:05:37Was because
01:05:38I was scared
01:05:40This is my dream
01:05:41I didn't know
01:05:42That I would get
01:05:43Like a
01:05:43You know
01:05:44A chance
01:05:44Like this
01:05:45So this is
01:05:46This is really awesome
01:05:48What's up
01:05:49Hey

01:06:05I've been singing
01:06:06Good deal

01:06:28I've got a heart rush
01:06:32It's slowing down
01:06:35Yeah, I want to taste her lips
01:06:40Yeah, cause they taste like you
01:06:43I want to drown myself
01:06:47In a bottle of herb
01:06:49Her perfume
01:06:51I want her long blood
01:06:54Yeah, I want her magic
01:06:57Yeah, cause maybe then
01:07:02You'll want me just as much
01:07:06And I've got a girl crush
01:07:19I want her long blood
01:07:37I like that
01:07:39Oh, darn, yeah, I want a magic touch.
01:07:45Yeah, cause maybe then you'll want me just as much.
01:07:53And I've got a girlfriend, oh, and I've got a girlfriend.
01:08:11That's good, that's good, that's good, that's good.
01:08:14What you think, Carrie?
01:08:15I'm happy.
01:08:16I'm happy.
01:08:17Surprising.
01:08:18I don't know what I expected to come out of your mouth, but that wasn't it, and it made
01:08:23me happy.
01:08:23I feel like you are very nervous.
01:08:27I am.
01:08:27Gotta loosen up.
01:08:28Like, I wanted to come out there and just, like, shake your arms and throw your vest across
01:08:33the room, and I think you're a racehorse, man.
01:08:36Don't you agree?
01:08:37I agree.
01:08:38You have a top end to your voice.
01:08:42It's not as high as Steve Perry, but the texture when you get up there is so sweet, man.
01:08:49It doesn't break.
01:08:49No, it does not.
01:08:51And we can wake the outside of you up to combine it with the inside of you, what's coming out.
01:08:59We've got show business.
01:09:02Oh, he can sing, y'all.
01:09:03He can sing.
01:09:04Oh, yeah, he can.

01:09:20Got to get a handshake on me too, man.
01:09:22Come on.
01:09:22Don't be fooling around.
01:09:23Yes, sir.
01:09:23Good job, twin brother.
01:09:25Great job.
01:09:26Good seeing you, man.
01:09:27All right.

01:09:32We're fired up.
01:09:33We're fired up.
01:09:35We're fired up.
01:09:35Let's go.
01:09:36Like, are we...
01:09:38Is this real?
01:09:39You know, I almost wanted to pinch myself.
01:09:42That was nice.
01:09:43Heck yeah.
01:09:44They love it.
01:09:45Stand it.
01:09:45Stand it over.
01:09:46With the struggles that I've had over the years,
01:09:50couldn't be happier.
01:09:50He is 80% of what he could be doing.
01:09:54He's got such potential.
01:10:06That was crazy to see how well he did.
01:10:10We've got a lot of memories together under our belt,
01:10:13and I wouldn't be here without his help,
01:10:16and I love this guy.
01:10:18He's the best.
01:10:18You're gonna make me cry, dude.
01:10:20I'm going to Hollywood week.
01:10:22It ain't slow and down.
01:10:31An old cowpoke went riding out
01:10:33A dark and windy day
01:10:37Upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way
01:10:41When all at once a mighty herd of red-eyed cows he saw
01:10:44Plowing through those ragged skies
01:10:47And up the cloudy draw
01:10:52Yippee-eye, oh, yippee-eye
01:11:00For this ghost rider's in the sky
01:11:08Sorry, that was...
01:11:09There you go.
01:11:10It happens.
01:11:12You know, Matthew, I mean, right now, you're just doing sing-along.
01:11:16We're talking about lead singer, center stage, crowd screaming at you.
01:11:22I'm going to give you a passionate no, because you're passionate about this business.
01:11:28I think that passion is going to take you a long way.
01:11:30Don't lose that spark, man.
01:11:33It's a no.
01:11:34It's a no today, but I'm not going to stop working.
01:11:36I'm not going to give up.
01:11:40I'm going to make the best of this moment.
01:11:42You have been on some amazing platforms.
01:11:47You've been with national recording artists.
01:11:50But today is your day.
01:11:53Hi.
01:11:54Come on in.
01:11:56What's your name?
01:11:57My name is Tiana Roberts.
01:11:59What brings you to us today?
01:12:01I'm just ready to get myself out there, take the risk.
01:12:06That's just kind of been my motto for the year.
01:12:08No risk, no story.
01:12:09No risk, no story.
01:12:11What's the deal with that?
01:12:12Well, last year, I had a miscarriage.
01:12:16That moment made me realize that life is short, and I could just think of all the things that I
01:12:21didn't do because I was too scared.
01:12:23I decided that the risk was worth the sacrifice.
01:12:26So, no risk, no story.
01:12:28So, here I am.
01:12:30I like that.
01:12:31Very good.
01:12:31Well, what are you going to be singing for us?
01:12:33I'm going to be singing a hymn called Pass Me Not.
01:12:36Okay.
01:12:37Okay.
01:12:45Pass me not, O gentle Savior.
01:12:52Savior, hear my humble cry, while, while on others thou art falling.
01:13:17I'm calling, Savior, do, do not pass me, me by.
01:13:30I'm crying, Savior.
01:13:35Oh, Savior, oh, Savior, why don't you hear my humble cry, while, while on others thou art calling.
01:14:01Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
01:14:07oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
01:14:07oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
01:14:07oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
01:14:18oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
01:14:18oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
01:14:37Thank you!
01:14:38Wow.
01:14:39You have an incredible voice.
01:14:42I feel like we've been waiting for you all day.
01:14:44Tell me about it.
01:14:46When you have a foundation and an instrument like you have,
01:14:49it's just a matter of what song would you like to sing.
01:14:52On this show, it's going to be challenging
01:14:53because you're going to cover everything from Disney songs
01:14:56all the way across to every event that ever happened in life
01:14:59in the music world.
01:15:00You can handle it with that voice any day of the week.
01:15:03I love what you did.
01:15:04Thank you so much.
01:15:05Well, great big voice.
01:15:07You just sang within your means.
01:15:09When I saw you going for the big note,
01:15:11I was like, uh-oh, uh-oh, uh-oh, she got it.
01:15:15All right, she saved it for the end.
01:15:17We love our gospel singers, but just get ready to branch out
01:15:20and get ready to do a lot of stuff.
01:15:22You made everything just seem very effortless.
01:15:25Your small notes were beautiful and clear and crisp.
01:15:28You kept things small, and then it grew,
01:15:30and by the end of it, you were just soaring.
01:15:33You are a really talented vocalist.
01:15:36It is a massive yes for me.
01:15:40Yes.
01:15:41It's a yes for me.
01:15:43You got three yeses.
01:15:45Ah!
01:15:46Okay.
01:15:49Thank you so much.
01:15:51Your girl did it.
01:15:52Ah!
01:15:55Ah!
01:15:56Ah!
01:15:56Ah!
01:15:57Ah!
01:15:58Ah!
01:15:58Ah!
01:16:11Ah!
01:16:33Julian, do you remember this kid?
01:16:35Yes.
01:16:35I thought about him a lot.
01:16:37Really, huh?
01:16:38Ah!
01:16:39Hey, guys.
01:16:40Hi.
01:16:41How are y'all?
01:16:42We're doing great.
01:16:43How are you guys?
01:16:44We're so happy to see you.
01:16:46We're happy to be here.
01:16:48One, two, one, two, three, four.
01:16:54My name is Julian Kalel Amansan.
01:16:56I'm from El Paso, Texas, and I'm 19 years old.
01:17:01Last year at Audition, I had no idea what to expect.
01:17:05Obviously, I was terrified.
01:17:07When I talk about it with my sister, we both say that we kind of just blacked out and gave
01:17:13a performance of our lives, I guess.
01:17:17There's a hole in my chest.
01:17:22Knock me down, lay me to rest.
01:17:27Drown my thoughts with kerosene
01:17:30I performed an original song called Surrender, which talks about the struggles of anxiety
01:17:35and depression.
01:17:36So I surrender
01:17:38If his world did I have waged, I'll raise a flag
01:17:42My fate is in his hands
01:17:44I felt like I was at your show just now.
01:17:47Are you serious?
01:17:48Yeah, I did.
01:17:49Wow.
01:17:49It played like a record.
01:17:51Just star.
01:17:52He's a star, just a straight up.
01:17:56I'll be gone without a sound
01:17:59When my heart fails me and I'm not around
01:18:01Yes!
01:18:02Yes!
01:18:03Hallelujah, yes!
01:18:05Hallelujah!
01:18:06Come here.
01:18:07The things that the judges told me, I felt like my life was changing in that moment.
01:18:12He may win this thing.
01:18:14He literally might win it.
01:18:17Oh, I surrender.
01:18:17It was one of the greatest moments of my life.
01:18:20Oh, I surrender.
01:18:21I'm going to Hollywood!
01:18:22Oh!
01:18:27Unfortunately, though, I was not able to continue forward.
01:18:31There were shared concerns about my abilities to balance a journey like American Idol and my mental health.
01:18:42I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression my freshman year of high school.
01:18:46But I had been struggling with those feelings for a big part of my life.
01:18:51I mean, through elementary and middle school.
01:18:54He came up to us and said, I am not okay.
01:18:57There's something happening with me.
01:18:59I mean, it's a knife to your chest because you're thinking, you know, what's going on?
01:19:05What's happening?
01:19:06And he said, I'm sad all the time.
01:19:11For me, anxiety is just like a big wave crashing on you and you just drown.
01:19:19I was pushing the value of my life.
01:19:24You have to look in the mirror and recognize that mental health professionals need to get involved and that there's
01:19:33no shame in that.
01:19:39Music is my lifeline.
01:19:42It's what keeps me grounded.
01:19:45I had so much to smile about with my audition.
01:19:48Wow!
01:19:48Oh, wow!
01:19:48And I just knew, like, I really regret it if I didn't give this another shot.
01:19:52I'm just hoping that whatever I'm doing just reflects the message of just not giving up.
01:19:58And most importantly, to not be defined by your struggles, but by your strengths.
01:20:04I choke up just thinking about it because I'm very lucky to be here.
01:20:08You know, life is a gift.
01:20:11For you to come back out here to try this, we are very happy and proud of you.
01:20:16We are so happy to be here.
01:20:17Thank you so much.
01:20:18So, what are you going to do for us?
01:20:20The song today is called Long Guitar.
01:20:22I wrote it at a very dark time in my life where I was at a crossroads of deciding whether
01:20:27or not to give up or to keep going.
01:20:29Huh.
01:20:29And found that, you know, it's as simple as just stay one more day.
01:20:34That's the message.
01:20:36It's been rough.
01:20:37We've had some rough years.
01:20:39And this song in particular, it's suicide prevention, basically.
01:20:52What do you see when you look at me?
01:20:57The blessings that I'm letting go.
01:21:00Lord, you forgive so easily.
01:21:03It's getting harder to find peace.
01:21:07Get the chance to grow old.
01:21:10But I'm not the man that I should never fail to travel.
01:21:15Helling by every night.
01:21:17Too far gone for prayer.
01:21:19Just a boy afraid to die.
01:21:26Oh, heartache, stare, words unspoken, the burden of my flaws.
01:21:32An empty chair, a family broken.
01:21:35Pain is all I cause.
01:21:37I should stay.
01:21:39I should stay.
01:21:42You walk in daydream, thoughts unholy.
01:21:46Damn, you're giving up.
01:21:47Hug your mama till there's just enough to see that old sun rise.
01:21:56I should stay.
01:21:58I should stay.
01:22:01Oh, I'll stitch phones and learn to love these remarks along the way.
01:22:06Oh, I should stay.
01:22:08Lord, let me stay.
01:22:12I got too much to give.
01:22:14I got I love you, so say don't want to make my old man cry.
01:22:19Leave my mama screaming, why?
01:22:22Guess I'm in this bleeding heart.
01:22:25Lighthead in my way.
01:22:28To the boy alone in the suffering.
01:22:31Thinking no one understands.
01:22:33If it's strength that you need.
01:22:36You don't have to be a man.
01:22:45Awesome, thank you.
01:22:47Ronald, what you think?
01:22:48Welcome back.
01:22:50Welcome back.
01:22:51I'm going to leave you with some words that I keep repeating over and over again, and I'm
01:22:56going to pass it on to you.
01:22:58You were born enough.
01:23:06Everything about you is just honest, and you organize your thoughts and your feelings
01:23:12into song in a way that comes across so real.
01:23:18That is something that's needed.
01:23:20Very much.
01:23:21Yeah, man, you got the magic.
01:23:30I think that you're incredible.
01:23:32I think you have all the skills and tools of a great singer.
01:23:35So glad you're back, and we'll just have fun with this thing.
01:23:38How about that?
01:23:39Absolutely, yeah.
01:23:44What do you think, Lionel?
01:23:48It's a yes for me.
01:23:49Yes for me?
01:23:51Yes for me.
01:23:52Yes for me.
01:23:53Let's go.
01:23:54Thank you guys.
01:23:55Thank you so much.

01:24:11I just felt understood.
01:24:12I felt seen for the artist that I try to be.
01:24:16I want to spread my message.
01:24:18You are loved, and everyone is born enough.
01:24:21Everyone is, in fact, born enough.
01:24:28You're one of my absolute favorites.
01:24:32God bless you with an instrument.
01:24:34The first time I've had full body chills the whole time.
01:24:37Oh my God.
