00:21you know
00:22and she's like I'd like to meet you you know here's the thing on the return address on the
00:29envelope it's from a correctional facility
00:35I'm getting jail mail dude
00:51Danny D what's up Mr. Wolf what's going on man how's the weather back there I was talking to my
00:57sister
00:58the other day she said it was five degrees well I have the heater sitting under my desk and if
01:03I'm
01:03not sweating it's not hot enough so what's this pic you've been talking about for the last few days
01:08it's legendary all right I'm gonna send you to a guy who's got movie props western film stuff
01:13like western stuff from what time period the golden age of Hollywood baby really yeah I mean he's got
01:20costumes he's got wardrobes he's also got a few monster things too dang on top of that he got
01:27his start with Elvis back in the day this legendary pick is somebody you're gonna be familiar with
01:32are you talking about Al Fleming bingo the legendary Al Fleming Al was the guy that we picked a few
01:41years
01:41back and he had an incredible story I spent years at MGM Studios I loved every minute of it the
01:47guy
01:47worked in Hollywood when the western was still blowing up the box office he was a stuntman a
01:53special effects makeup artist and then got into wardrobe making costumes the guy is a legend
02:00no kidding I'm going to Al Fleming's today hey Hollywood loves the sequel oh man I mean he's been
02:07by him so much more really now he's into an entirely new type of collecting he's into World War II
02:14memorabilia
02:15really yeah there's just so much stuff there oh my gosh I can't wait to see such a great dude
02:21he's stoked he's expecting you let him know I'm excited to see him you got it be safe talk to
02:27you soon
02:35bye
02:41oh man this is so cool oh my gosh
02:53it's so good to see you look at I'm gonna give you one of these anyway
02:56you know Danielle didn't tell me I was coming here until today I think it's been like six years
03:00when I first met Mike we had a lot of fun and I thought about the time he and Frank
03:05were here
03:06I enjoyed it the guys were great we found it so I decided to let a few things go and
03:11I don't feel bad
03:12about it you've been buying more or selling more both you know what I don't think it's ever gonna
03:17leave us is it things are getting harder to find though oh I know they are hey I gotta ask
03:21about this
03:21stuff yeah this is my Elkhorn graveyard originally what I was going to do I was saving all these
03:28things I was going to build an Elkhorn chair and this last summer I got them all laid out there
03:32and
03:33figured if I built a chair it's gonna weigh about three or four hundred pounds of this one's decent
03:38Al worked in an industry where they had to make something out of nothing every single day you know
03:43so when you look at his aesthetic with this pile of antlers all of that is still in his blood
03:48he wanted
03:49to make something out of them that's what's great about him and he has an incredible eye what are
03:54you doing with these oh I'm gonna sell them to you horn is fun to work with the uses are
04:01endless when
04:02it comes to these antlers I mean you could mount them just the way they are there can be jewelry
04:06made
04:06out of them there could be lamps made out of them all of a sudden your home becomes so much
04:10more
04:10worldly lodgy more traveled all this stuff is timeless 500 bucks all right send us a coordinates
04:27all right have fun Danny's got a great lead for us she's sending us to see Terry Terry was a
04:33racing
04:33promoter and once he retired he built himself a complete general store to house his collection look
04:40what's behind these houses I don't think you're going the right way dude this is the directions
04:44it's taking me right here right there see dude that's cool wow that looks like a freaking general
04:53store from dry pond John down store check out that freaking Nova sitting in the driveway look at this
05:00place oh yeah nice car yeah they must be Terry I'm period how you doing nice to see you talk
05:09to
05:09Danielle on the phone talk to Danielle on the phone I'm John you're John yeah man what's up with the
05:15Nova all original 1973 73 yeah it's straight what motor got in it 305 got the V8 he loves gas
05:25he loves
05:25gas Terry is my kind of guy he's got a 1970s Nova all original paint with a V8 in it
05:32my buddy growing up
05:33had one of these things all souped up big fat tires let me ask you this is this car for
05:38sale no one would
05:40ever pay what it would take to buy it I'd have a hard time selling something that was my dad's
05:44since
05:45it was my dad's there's a lot of sentimental value to it I'll probably keep it the rest of my
05:50life so
05:51Danny said you did racing promotions I've been in there this is NASCAR country in NASCAR country yeah
05:56this is have you ever had any big names Dale Earnhardt one time you had Dale Earnhardt you were on
06:02your
06:02track yeah on a dirt track Dale Earnhardt was rookie of the year he raced against the locals for me
06:08Dale Earnhardt to define a promoter he's a gambler he puts an event together and he gambles that people
06:15show up to pay the bills as well as a profit mainly it would be dirt track racing cars I
06:21was the manager
06:22of four different dirt tracks we would have twelve fifteen hundred people in attendance and I was in
06:28love with it I never had a desire to drive a race car I had the desire to sell tickets
06:34sure sure right
06:35I love anything to do with speed I'm a motorcycle guy I like mechanics I like the way things go
06:39fast
06:40it's so cool to go to a big national race that's on television but it's cooler to go to a
06:45regional race
06:45because it's guys who are local these are guys who are building cars in your garage that just want to
06:50get out there on Saturday night and have a good time and show off their skills Dale Earnhardt started
06:55in the dirt just like these guys all right boys let me show you the shop here we have some
07:00racing
07:01planes in here photos and so on oh man what's going on with this what's this I don't know for
07:10sure that
07:10came off of Merle Haggard's old railroad car they lived in back and forth when he was on the road
07:16really
07:16but I don't know what that he said was railroad but CRC so you knew him pretty well yeah really
07:22he and Buck Owens what were those guys like Merle we used to go over to he had a place
07:26out in the
07:27middle of nowhere and we'd take our muzzle loading rifles and teepees out there and shoot muzzle loading
07:31rifles no kidding you guys would just be camping out there I said would he bust out the guitar around
07:35the fire yeah would he really wow we had a couple drinks and he'd bust out all kind of stuff
07:40around the fire
07:42Al's out playing lonesome dub with Merle Haggard I mean come on what a life this guy's had
07:47I mean where do you find stuff like this authentic what do you value that at would you sell that
07:53what are you thinking you're telling me I don't know I mean I don't either I mean
07:56I don't know reasonable offer 125 sold all right that's so cool let's go inside it's getting cold out
08:07here all right I got you I got you welcome to my abode oh yeah my 30 abode yeah you
08:13do have more in
08:14here man I look at the walls this is my life and it gives me a warm feeling I feel
08:19like I really
08:19accomplish something in my life look at the energy you exchanged with people on set and all and the
08:25fact that you weren't just on set you were creating things on set that was fun for me it's so
08:30cool to
08:30walk around and see all these photographs on the walls of all the people that he worked with and what
08:36they're saying when they write something they all respected him he's got so much to be proud of and
08:42I'm honored to walk through this stuff with him man what's this movie poster right here that came
08:48from a trash bin at MGM Studios back in the 60s really it's hand painted on linen 1928 they had
08:55thrown
08:55it out I went that's pretty cool I was a dumpster diver people thought I was crazy dragging all this
09:02junk out of the dumpsters I was going into prop departments looking at the old musty corner and
09:07dragging stuff out and they go what do you want that old crap for to me it was treasure just
09:12magical
09:13stuff I was a junk man is it the artwork for the poster no this is the poster but how
09:19would they
09:20reproduce them then that's the one oh that's it oh so this would have been in a theater specifically
09:25for Gary Cooper in Doomsday with an all-star cast acclaimed one of the greatest movies ever made I've
09:33never seen one painted like that wow I just thought it was neat because Coop was in it I got
09:38to beat
09:38Mark Gary Cooper a few years before he passed so I got to sit down and talk to him as
09:42a kid my heroes
09:43were the Western movie stars you see on the Batman Saturday movies I mean I couldn't imagine meeting
09:48these people so to me it's a fairy tale I mean I my whole life has been one adventure after
09:54the next
09:55can I make you an offer on it yeah but I won't take it that's my favorite poster you make
09:59an awful
10:00big hole in the wall I put a note on it when I kick the buck I'll have my kid
10:04call Mike and I'll give
10:05it to him he'll own it one day all right all right oh my gosh walking into Al's place is
10:12overwhelming
10:13it's almost like there was an earthquake at the Smithsonian and most of it ended up on Al's floor
10:18this is stuff everywhere there's Native American stuff there's World War I World War II cowboy stuff
10:23jewelry pottery I mean he lives in his collection and I'm that same way when you come in my house
10:30there's probably about two or three different coffee tables well guess what you can't see
10:34the top of them because there's a lot of different things I know you're into World War II stuff what
10:38about
10:39any like patches or anything like that no I do have some patches over here somewhere I can find them
10:45dang man if you're lucky oh my god are you kidding me no way see I tried to categorize this
10:54is all
10:54airborne Army Air Force oh my god it's incredible most of this though is World War II or latest Korea
11:00Al is a collector's collector he's got such elevated things and such interesting historical pieces that
11:08it's amazing to be at his home here at this time in his life when he wants to sell some
11:12of this stuff
11:13what about that one this is flying Tigers this is like that lighter I bought off you that's cool
11:19this belonged to a fighter pilot that was a member of the flying Tigers okay this is a China Burma
11:24India
11:24sign his name was Stevenson 354 thank you I love it during World War II China was our ally the
11:32flying
11:32Tigers were basically American pilots that were volunteers that went to China to fight against Japan
11:39during World War II and that's a nice hand-painted leather patch too yeah well this would go great
11:44with that lighter would you take 200 for this one if you talk to me nice I love you brother
11:50okay I've
11:51got that lighter I've got it right on my coffee table all right next to my incense burner so this
11:56would be cool with that I would have sold it oh my gosh I love it this is gonna go
12:00great with it thank
12:01you he's got the lighter he ought to have the patch because I'd make a great display on it they
12:06came
12:06from the same person so it's got a good home they're back together again a lot of photos in here
12:18man
12:18wow what's the guy is that a jet car there or something what's going on with that I think it's
12:23Florida Afrons isn't it well what the heck's he in he's on Bonneville he's on Bonneville Bonneville
12:28that's a pretty cool photo world land speed record the green monster wow you want to sell that photo
12:34yeah I care about this photo because it's salt flat racing the salt flats is where some of the most
12:40amazing speed records are attained to this day because it is a flat piece of ground salt that is
12:47dead flat for miles and miles and you could run a vehicle as fast as can possibly go it's God's
12:54country for racing for speed 40 bucks all right 40 40 40 thanks buddy this is cool how about this
13:06you know what that is don't you that's for incense yeah you put incense I think I like to keep
13:11it
13:11I burn incense every morning while I'm reading you do yeah yeah I do I do 40 push-ups
13:16burn some incense read my book drink nine cups of coffee and then start my day sometimes 12 you're
13:24wound tight oh I'm already wound tight what's up with this guy who's that that's a wax guy he's got
13:30cowboy look Tom I'm funny I'll go to buy an oddball piece that I've never bought before and go that's
13:35pretty neat so I've branched out into things that are interesting or different are just things that I
13:41like looking at how about this Indian probably 350 on that 300 345 all right I gotcha what about this
13:49this inkwell that's probably from the 20s or 30s this is an inkwell that's been customized for the
13:55gentleman his name is on it Jack Sinclair very cool very interesting item and that's all hand forged there's
14:02I see that what are you thinking on that probably a buck and a half done and then what about
14:07these
14:07Seoul Korea yeah 47 to 49 the skull and crossbones on these patches are very crude but these are very
14:15cool what do you think for the set 400 bucks you got it thank you man and then I saw
14:21these too man what
14:22about the buffaloes look at those those would have went on the bridle the Buffalo Bill Museum is right behind
14:26the house oh so I love
14:28anything like that those are from the 20s they're amazing probably 150 on those all right I'm doing
14:33it I'll put this in my case here's what Hollywood did instead of using flintlock guns yeah they took
14:39a trapdoor Springfield which was a cap and ball where they can put the blank in there okay they made
14:45these big brass hammers to go on it and so it could fire they didn't have to keep loading them
14:49wow that's
14:50cool so that was a prop from the movie yeah the last command with Sterling Hayden well where did you
14:56get it
14:56that from a prop man of mine would you sell this probably about 400 this is such a cool prop
15:03you
15:03know this movie was based on the Alamo battle I want to buy this thing I mean this is a
15:08big deal 350
15:11cheers all right thanks man I love it on those days it had no value other than a prop to
15:17me it had a lot
15:17of value because it was a real artifact from this movie they were going to destroy I saved it
15:27so Terry was this a building here that you bought someplace and then relocated it over here I constructed
15:33it oh you built the building built the building yeah it's cool my love for the general store was I
15:39grew
15:39up next door to my uncle's general store so I was somewhat his adopted son and I've probably spent more
15:47time in the general store than I did at home and I got more education from the people that were
15:52at the
15:52general store than I did from the school I started to then I bought the Phillips 66 sign because my
15:59uncle's store was the Phillips 66 station so what's inside this building it's full oh my god Robbie look
16:06at this oh man wow yeah man you got it packed in here dude you got ham cooking if you're
16:13collecting and
16:14you find something that really appeals to you it sets you on fire man the general store was the
16:21information place of the community in the 50s when I was a kid the farmers gathered in there at night
16:28they played checkers they've gossiped and of course there was a lot of white liquor drinking around
16:33there it's like stepping back in time so you're really passionate about doing this I mean this took a
16:40long time this didn't happen overnight Terry it didn't happen overnight oh heck no the general
16:44store is bulging at the seams there's things that survived in their original packaging there's still
16:51moon pies in the wrappers it is packed like spam in a can all this stuff is extremely well preserved
16:58I mean this guy is taking it to a different level Terry this thing is cool man Davy Crockett
17:04they're pins they're pins Davy Crockett was a frontiersman in the 1830s he was a real American
17:11hero he fought in the Alamo so anything Davy Crockett is going to appeal to a kid reading history
17:18books reading about frontier life and these pins is something for a kid to really enjoy and they're
17:23on a nice display with great graphics on it check this thing out let's pull out a case whoa hop
17:28along
17:29Cassidy piece doesn't have the top to it but that's in here hop along Cassidy watch
17:33hop along Cassidy was a fictional cowboy character from the 30s to the 50s playing
17:40on the romance of the old west the hop along Cassidy is always going to be collectible here
17:46is a nice display it's a wristwatch it's intact never been worn never been touched it's a juvenile
17:52watch what's the group price for this 150 how's gonna go 125 150 150 hop along Cassidy is pretty
18:00popular thing 140 all right all right buddy thank you so much yes man this is amazing what a great
18:06opportunity to come in here really appreciate you letting us do this you got some great stuff here
18:16I don't think I showed you this last time Mike but this is another little uh coal full of junk
18:21food I collect a little bit of everything I like cowboy Indian old weapons older military items as
18:29a kid I grew up on a horse ranch in Florida and in those days most of the movies were
18:34westerns and my
18:35first heroes were cowboys and as I got older I thought it was wonderful to have a piece of the
18:40real
18:41thing that I could relate back to my childhood and if I look at this stuff and I enjoy it
18:46this is cool man
18:47here's some more antlers four full hides there's a lot of this stuff in here you're keeping it to
18:52make things well see I built the costumes for the studio for years yeah so I've got boxes of
18:58leather everywhere when I was a kid you know I was working in a small town in Florida Elvis
19:02Wesley came to town I ended up going to Hollywood with Elvis from then I've bettered everything from
19:07an actor stuntman prop maker to making costumes spent 57 years in the film industry I won an Emmy for
19:15their costumes on Magnificent Seven this is a TV series okay probably 86 87 wow I made all the
19:22leather costumes for that all the leather costumes for Wild Bill Jeff Bridges no it was all hand sewn
19:27it was no machine I went back and researched Hickok his buckskin jackets and all the things and made
19:33patterns to fit Jeff Bridges to actually look just like Wild Bill so you were basically in a lot of
19:39these big actors and big actresses personal space oh yeah yeah I don't know if you bought movie poster
19:45that's an old I think of Roy Rogers poster up there look at that pretty bad condition Roy Rogers
19:51Trigger the smartest horse in the movies Trigger did you ever work with him I knew Roy we used to
19:56shoot skeet and trap together really I can tell you a funny story about Roy Rogers if you look at
20:00all the
20:01old Roy Rogers movies there was a guy in there called black Jack O'Shea he played all the bad guys
20:06well
20:06he was Roy's buddy so when Jack retired Roy bought him a little shack along the railroad tracks down in
20:12Tarzana California they started O'Shea's Trash and Treasures which is an antique store really so when I
20:18first came out there I was doing stunt shows on the weekends and I always stopped by and see Jack
20:23because a lot of the old stunt men were there all the old cowboys we have great stories I can't
20:27even
20:27imagine so I kept asking Jack I'd like to meet Roy so when he comes down next time I will
20:32call you
20:33so I get a phone call he says get your ass over here Roy's here so I got my best
20:38cowboy outfit
20:38I'm wearing down there walked into the little shack I'm going did he leave he goes no he's in the
20:44back
20:45room says come on so we open the back door Roy's laying on the bunk bed back there drunk as
20:49a skunk
20:50just passed out I said oh grab his feet we took him out to Jack's old pickup truck that had
20:56a
20:56mattress in the back put in the back of the pickup truck we drove him over to the ranch and
21:01Dale
21:01and all the kids came up and loaded years later when I met him again I said you know I
21:05met you years
21:06ago you did I said oh god don't tell me about that story oh my god Al found his passion
21:13and had the
21:14opportunity at the perfect time in his life because he used to watch these guys as a young man
21:19the movies and then coming of age being able to be in the industry and still see them working how
21:27amazing is that behind all of these guys there were so many people behind the camera working really
21:34hard to create the scenes create the wardrobe do the makeup the stunts all of that for the camera and
21:41the light to shine on them there are no self-made men there's so many people working so hard Al
21:48was one of
21:48those guys for decades what an honor to know some of these guys that's beautiful man what do you
21:55value this at 25 bucks I was gonna give you a 50 okay I'll do that all right thank you
22:01buddy I love
22:02that and Roy was just a super nice down-to-earth guy and he loved to get out with the
22:07guys and shoot
22:08the guns and tell the stories and I loved every minute of it how about World War II jackets oh
22:13wow
22:14you can tell that's been worn a lot this is what I love about Al's collection we're jumping from
22:19the Wild West to World War II oh my god yeah look at that patch the jacket is standard issue
22:25the patch
22:26is not a lot of artwork like this or nose art was created by somebody on the crew or on
22:33the base
22:33all of this stuff was inspired by a brotherhood that was spiritual I mean when these guys left
22:39they had no idea if they were going to come back that kind of uncertainty seeps into the fabric there
22:47are a lot of collectors out there that care about the condition of the jacket I'm not that guy this
22:52is
22:52an incredible patch I'm buying this jacket for this one patch there's nothing on the back so what are you
22:58thinking on this so basically what I'm buying here is the coat that's you know it's rough strictly for
23:04display yeah but yeah for oh absolutely all this stuff I buy like this is for display but I've been
23:08collecting it for a while now like I mean what would you want for this one in this shape with
23:13this
23:13patch that's the patch this one yeah this one's probably around 350 yeah how about 300
23:24okay thank you I love it I love it I appreciate it
23:31there's a lot of stuff in here I mean it's amazing how well everything is preserved look at this for
23:36example I mean dude I remember buying those when I was a kid look at this a space master paper
23:41kite
23:41this child's kite blows me away it's from the 50s it's made out of tissue paper it has all the
23:48iconic figures of the space age that is amazing that it survived because it's so delicate it's
23:54hard to display can you do 60 yeah I'll do 60 yeah thank you man I preach I mean it's
24:00just so unusual
24:00Terry yes sir look at that jersey Monroe sent car fresheners 1954 cool thing is it's all intact and
24:08this is the greatest fishing lure ever made the fact that these are spinners that's my favorite kind
24:13because these things fish just bite they don't make stuff like this anymore 130 for the pair okay
24:20all right appreciate you yeah thank you thank you Terry I'm looking at using these lures what is up
24:25with this it's an anvil yeah but anvil salesman that was the example he took around to show it's a
24:31pop
24:32metal it's very lightweight I think it's more of a decorative piece I think 30 bucks 40 35 so all
24:38right
24:38dude I like this all right good so we're buying stuff I love it Harold's smoked sardines these
24:44sardine cans were meant to look like a book on a shelf but when you opened it up it had
24:49the sardine
24:49cans displayed in this I'd say that's the 30s when you oh a minimum 125 let's go 150 130 that's
25:00a round
25:07it back here actually I think I found the automotive section there's clamps up here radiator clamps of
25:13pores you'd be interested in maybe selling this cabinet so it's pure later on it yeah I probably
25:19would pure later was an air filter company that when you saw guys on the NASCAR track that was the
25:24company that had the air cleaner on their car this one is in great shape it's got the red the
25:29yellow and
25:30the white and it's perfect looks like it's probably from the late 50s early 60s I would say it looks
25:37like it was probably just for air filters it's got a bunch of oil filters and stuff inside it I
25:42don't
25:42really want those but it's got great color on it that's for certain I don't care what's inside it
25:46the cabinet is the advertising piece would you do 200 on it no I don't believe I do I do
25:53three to find
25:55it in this condition very unusual how about here I'll do this for you how about 300 you throw in
26:00the
26:00automobile clamp thing up top three and a quarter I'll do that three and a quarter I could use that
26:06clamp
26:07piece in my shop I'm always digging around for some of those are old timey clamps that's all right
26:12though they got those cool old school ones I like this it's the old school clay like 1940s
26:23the whole collection you have is museum quality this is one of Graham Greene's shirts from Dances
26:29with Wolves really God that's one of my favorite movies man I got that directly from Graham no kidding
26:34so when actors are doing film is it unusual for them to acquire things like that like how do they
26:40get that stuff you know some of them like McQueen they always got all the costumes they wore so did
26:46you know McQueen yeah no kidding like what was he like I can tell you a little secret story if
26:51you
26:51want to hear it I want to hear any stories about Steve McQueen well we were doing a film called
26:56the
26:57getaway Steve McQueen Ally McGraw Sam Peckinpah director we're shooting in San Marcos Texas and I was doing
27:02special effects makeup on the show and that first morning he says how do I come over I want to
27:07meet
27:07him so you were going to do Steve McQueen's makeup yeah so I was all excited you know I go
27:11over there
27:12and he's in a motorhome he's got his entourage that's traveling with him and in the motorhome a lot of
27:16people know he's got two little spotlights over the kitchen table that barely lighted yeah he goes go
27:21ahead and start your makeup I said Steve it's too dark in here I can't do it I want you
27:26to do it now I
27:27said well it's a prosthetic job it was a bullet hit I said I can't do it because there's no
27:32lighting
27:32if I make one mistake we got to start all over there so I said come on over across the
27:36walkway
27:37makeup trailers over everything all set up let do it and I started walking he grabbed me he goes
27:43I want you to do it now and I said Steve you got one more poke and he looked at
27:48his buddy there
27:49laughing he went like that and I open-handed knocked him on his ass oh you just smacked him down
27:55yeah
27:55he fell back into the booth yeah and he said you SOB you're never gonna work again your career is
28:01over I went didn't have a job when I got this job so I'm walking over I'm packing my stuff
28:06away
28:06and Ali McGraw comes in she goes Al what are you doing I said Steve just fired me so I'm
28:12packing all
28:13my crap and I'm out of here she goes you can't leave I want you here to do my effects
28:18when it comes
28:18up and I won't work with anybody else and I said well Steve fired me she says don't go anyplace
28:23I'll be right back so she comes back with Sam Peckinpah the director he goes okay she told
28:29me the story he says I've been wanting to hit that son of a bitch since the first time I
28:33met him
28:34he says you're not fired stay here you'll fly somebody in just to do Steve oh my gosh time
28:40progressed and every morning I'd go to work I'd stop by go morning Mr. Steve McQueen how are you Mr.
28:45McQueen
28:47you were egging him on yeah and I gotta give him credit though about halfway through the film he
28:52goes I owe you an apology he says I was totally out of line I was unprofessional you did what
28:58you're
28:58supposed to do and he said were you shaking my hand I said sure sure we became friends after that
29:11this is what happens when you ask a stuntman to be a makeup artist I mean it's just insane but
29:19it's
29:19so cool that he held his ground he went toe to toe I'm in the presence of greatness he's a
29:24man's man
29:25he's a woman's man he's a dog's man he's everything a man should be and more pretty amazing history
29:36here look at that one here's some photos from a donkey basketball donkey basketball yeah I got
29:43the book in donkey basketball so guys riding donkeys and try to make baskets I think I remember this in
29:49high school that he came to my school one year and I booked 200 one-night events in 14 different
29:55states what is donkey ball you have eight donkeys four donkeys at each end of the court two teams
30:01and they have to be riding the donkey when shooting but the donkeys are trained to throw them off chase
30:08them bite them it was a fundraiser for the schools usually one of the teams had to be made up
30:14of the
30:14teachers and kids would buy a ticket to see the teacher thrown from the donkey and a lot of times
30:19the principal would be what was referred to as a pooper scooper if the donkeys had an
30:24accident on the floor they'd pack the gym out every night so I got to ask a question because
30:30I collect photographs oh you do I got a lot of I probably have 8,000 photographs of things that
30:34intrigue me would you be interested in selling one of your donkey pictures well you're getting pretty
30:40personal now that makes it very expensive I get it I get it but it's it's just a cool story
30:47to tell I
30:47love that I don't know what kind of value would you place on that hundred bucks sold there you go
30:55that wasn't too hard tell you the name of the donkeys oh you know the name of the donkeys oh
30:59yeah
31:08what's the deal with the Oscar what's the deal with that oh my god that's got some weight to it
31:14okay in 1928 they were trying to get a design for an award to give to actors well this is
31:20one of the
31:20prototypes for the Oscar this is the prototype for the Oscar yeah who has a prototype Oscar in their house
31:28and on top of that slap Steve McQueen to the ground Al Fleming whoa yeah a woman came back to
31:36me as a joke
31:36she says you want an Oscar I went yes I said I'll never win one and she goes here you
31:43can have this
31:43and I never realized it was until I started screwing around with it and it's all about scratching on the
31:48bottom of it base style RS number two November 27th 28 what do you value that at that actually should
31:57go to the Hollywood Museum down there really because it's something that should stay with
32:00the Hollywood I think for sure look at that oh my gosh what a piece of history that is a
32:06piece of history
32:13so I gotta ask there's a couple signs I'm a huge advertising guy the one I like the most is
32:18the
32:18Borden yeah it's embossed too Robbie yeah that's why I like it when it has a animal on it makes
32:23it more
32:23valuable doesn't it a hundred percent yeah we talk about buying character signs all the time the better
32:28the character the more valuable the piece that's painted metal not porcelain sign actual value wise
32:35what would it be five hundred dollars I think it's got a value of about eight to nine hundred eight
32:39to
32:39nine hundred yeah I'd be a player at six hundred I believe I'll hang on to it that's a good
32:45offer well
32:46you got to step up to the plate we're here to buy if I would sell something off at the
32:50side of the
32:51store it leave a hole so to speak what about this Gillette tire sign on the other side it's got
32:56a
32:56polar bear on it right here it's got a big whammy right on the bear I'll probably let that go
33:01being
33:01on the rear end of the store it's not as visible that's an embossed one but it's got a great
33:06look
33:06the Gillette tire sign that's on the back it's got a polar bear on it and it's not the greatest
33:11shape
33:11but it's a good piece a little rough here Robbie all right it's rougher than a corn cob in 1972
33:17yeah
33:17would you do uh 325 I'd like to start about five yeah oof it's tough and it's a 70 sign
33:27I know that
33:28is not perfect yeah would you go for 375 I'd like to have four out of it I just never
33:36did like odd
33:36numbers like that I like those even hundred I wouldn't have sold it had it been off of the
33:41side of the store but I was satisfied price wise
33:53Perry yeah sir look at this they've got like the clothing department here look at these Lee jeans
33:58size 29 by 31 that's for somebody really small pointer brand jeans 34 waist there you go here's
34:05kids jeans Mavericks DC brand all this stuff is made in USA oh yeah this is dead stock denim
34:11unused inventory from the 70s some maybe even to the 60s you rarely see that you got other ones up
34:19here
34:19too and these are overalls red camel brand new old stock you got another set up there too these are
34:25Oshkosh 28 by 33 here's another set of Lee yeah I love denim I didn't see these whoa what really
34:32intrigues me whenever I see any work wear or denim is that designers who are making clothing use vintage
34:39products to inspire them to make their denim let me make you offer one two three four pairs overalls
34:47right there overhauls $150 a pair today well these because they're kid size it's gonna be hard to get
34:53that kind of money for them one two three four five I'm thinking like 225 make it 250 and take
35:01them
35:01with you 250 yeah you know what I'm not gonna argue with buddy thank you so much man I really
35:05appreciate
35:06it there's so much stuff here I mean look at this axe s-wing embossed leather case it's brand new
35:11the
35:12s-wing company makes a high quality product they have a beautiful way they use a forged handle that
35:17incorporates the head it's very strong then I found this piece carborundum it's a store display
35:23advertising thing for a sharpening stone people come in and sharpen their knife yep this is used
35:2875 for both of them 65 bucks all right sold all right I'm not done with you yet I love
35:33this
35:34the kitty boot yeah that's got to have some age oh that is so neat look at it play boots
35:40adjustable
35:41straps so they're plastic boots the cowboy boot display is so cool because they're kids cowboy boots
35:46I mean they're just adorable it's been patched up a little bit with some tape but it's still there
35:51I believe about 50 you think about 50 bucks yeah you know what that's exactly what I was thinking too
35:56all right buddy thank you so much very very good check these things out ah cool that display is nice
36:02I
36:02know when I walked into a general store when I was a kid it was all about the soda the
36:06lollipops and
36:08the pocket knives there's another one that is great when I was seven years old my dad gave me
36:14a pocket knife it was a rite of passage it just takes you back to a time when I see
36:19these pocket
36:19knives I think about my grandkids I think about my children is it broken a top Rob yeah this piece
36:25got broke missing one knife I wouldn't take less than 300 for both of them 250 okay three that Barlow
36:33you wouldn't find a complete display like that shake the man's hand haha yeah we got to get them
36:40they're nice man you're right the Barlow display is awesome it's pretty amazing this stuff to buy
36:44it's just another example of how well Terry preserved everything in here and this is just a testament to
36:50Terry's ambitious project Terry it's been a heck of a day he put this beautiful general store all
36:58together in a wonderful building to help preserve history it's an amazing accomplishment appreciate it
37:04you coming by nice meeting you my friend yes sir I have never sold anything until today when they
37:11complimented me on the condition of the various items it certainly made me feel good and it was a very
37:18enjoyable experience come see us in Leclerc I've got a cowgirl collection over here let me see that
37:34what's going on with that put it over here that's I think this is the only spot in the house
37:38where we
37:39can look at stuff it's a very historical rodeo thing one of the ladies who actually started the
37:45women's rodeo in the 1880s this is her entire collection she was a lady that started the rodeo
37:51cowgirls association back in the 1920s this is her scrapbooks wow this ever clippings first mission
37:58books oh there this is her right here Bertha Blanchett she was actually the first lady in rodeo to ride
38:05a
38:05Bronco to professionally ride in a rodeo wow and that was unheard of in those days oh my gosh
38:11absolutely so she was a tough old gal wow look at all this where'd you get this stuff at a
38:17guy bought
38:17a storage unit this was in it and he called me and said you buy cowboy stuff do you buy
38:21photographs
38:22wow these are so great you know where I went to and it was the most badass thing man you've
38:27been to
38:27the cowgirl hall of fame yeah did you see all those outfits in there did you see Annie Oakley's in
38:32there
38:32yeah my daughter Charlie and I went to the cowgirl hall of fame in Fort Worth Texas a couple years
38:38ago
38:38it was a place my daughter wanted to visit it was on her list and I remember seeing some of
38:45Bertha
38:45Blanchett's things in there dang this is incredible I mean there's so much history here women like Bertha
38:52Blanchett forged the past struck the iron for so many others if you're a woman in riding and rodeo
38:57right now Bertha Blanchett's history is part of your history so it's so wild to see a box of all
39:05these
39:06personal images of hers a lot of these things there are other ladies that were in the rodeos
39:11that were friends of hers look at them jumping over that car oh my gosh these were the gals that
39:16went out there and busted their tail and had to prove themselves as an old tough cowboys that they
39:20were worthy of going out there and becoming yeah rodeo stars exactly it is interesting that a lot of
39:26these photos have the names of the people in the photos yeah some of them have it on the back
39:30if they
39:31have it on the front yeah it's just good early stuff with the rodeos so what are you going to
39:35do
39:35with all this stuff I'd be interested in this are you interested in selling this I was going to try
39:39to get it to somebody probably you'd be a good one to get it because I thought it should be
39:42kept
39:42together absolutely because this is the beginning of certain rodeoing well absolutely and I think also
39:48too I look at it the images and how personal a lot of the stuff is to me it'd be
39:53an amazing book
39:54you know what I mean do the research I'm too old to be taken on a project like this yeah
39:59but it has to be
40:00done because I've never found a complete archives of early yeah cowboy stuff that hasn't been
40:06published absolutely what are you thinking on this stuff to you I'd go a thousand dollars on it
40:14I think that's a good price I think it is too and I think there's a responsibility that comes with
40:20it
40:20I'm game for it I'm up for the task okay I truly am we're saving a piece of history that
40:26otherwise would
40:27probably be thrown out burned off absolutely any of this stuff I feel like I'm preserving the history
40:33of it for whoever comes next and it's a hell of a book I look forward to see what he
40:37does with it
40:38well you've got me excited about it good this needs to be moved forward I want to be the guy
40:44that puts
40:44it in its right place so whether that's the cowgirl hall of fame or connecting it with maybe a family
40:50member I understand the responsibility of owning it all right we got the rest of the antlers
40:56this is one of the things I love about my job you know circling back with guys that over the
41:01years
41:01have become my mentor you know every time I come to Al's house I want to stay there for a
41:06month you
41:06know it's like I just want to be an apprentice I'm such a sponge and he's just got so much
41:11knowledge
41:12and I love that about him if his stuff is going to go somewhere he wants to choose where and
41:17I'm honored
41:17he chose me you've got such an incredible eye thanks for sharing your stories with me oh my god
41:24I love spending time with you come by anytime next time I come through I'm gonna crash here
