00:00Let go of the break.
00:01There we go.
00:02Oh, shit.
00:03George!
00:04It fits you perfectly.
00:05Like George Washington.
00:06No, how about Alexander Hamilton?
00:08I'll take it.
00:08Maybe he's a little Weasley, like Hamilton is.
00:12I did not say that to his face.
00:14That is, in fact, a naked woman, you know.
00:16Yeah.
00:17Oh, 12 Henderson original paint.
00:19This has got to be the nicest one in the world.
00:21Yeah!
00:23Your wife said you'd know what this was.
00:25Jersey doesn't even know what it is.
00:26I don't know what it is.
00:45Danny D, what's up?
00:47Hey, did you make it to Salt Lake City yet?
00:49Hell yeah, I drove through the night.
00:50Yeah, I just talked to Rick.
00:52He said to go ahead and pull around back,
00:53and he'll be expecting you back there.
00:55You can load it in there.
00:56I wouldn't mind riding it myself.
01:00Oh, I've never seen anything like this.
01:02It's a 1921 Harley that my uncle modified for his business.
01:09It's just so unique.
01:10There's so many different things going on.
01:12And I love the advertising.
01:14Uncle Fernando made it and added this whole part.
01:17I mean, that's crazy.
01:18Okay, listen, you're going to look for a giant Ferris wheel
01:21next to a ton of shipping containers.
01:24He's got a Ferris wheel at the Motorcycle Museum?
01:26Yes, shouldn't be too hard to miss.
01:27You know what I love about that guy?
01:29He is exactly like me.
01:31He gets all jacked up on stuff.
01:33He's like, yeah, and he buys it,
01:35and then he puts it there in the spot,
01:37and then he's like, what's the next thing?
01:39I know.
01:39This is like the third or fourth thing we've sold Rick, right?
01:42Last time that we were there, Robbie was there,
01:45and he brought the Madame X to the museum.
01:47May I introduce you to Madame X?
01:49Oh, yeah.
01:50Hell, yeah.
01:51You got to love it, man.
01:53Okay, listen, have fun.
01:54Let me know if you need anything.
01:55I'm a phone call away.
01:57All right, take care.
01:58Bye.
02:13Holy crap, man, this is nuts.
02:16Rick is all hands on deck when it comes to building almost all of his properties.
02:21I mean, this commercial structure is incredible.
02:24The photographs totally don't do it justice.
02:28The fact that he can take it right from his imagination straight to brick and mortar is so cool.
02:38What's up, Rose?
02:39What's happening?
02:40Dude, what's going on, man?
02:41Where you been?
02:42I made it.
02:43We got a lot of traffic here.
02:44My name's Rick Salisbury.
02:45I own Legends Vintage Motorcycle Museum.
02:49Dude, I drove past the Ferris wheel.
02:51Did you?
02:51Yeah, I'm like, what the heck's going on?
02:53That was a Robbie deal?
02:54I got that from Robbie.
02:55Once I got to know the Wolf Boys, I mean, they've helped me.
02:59If I have something I'm looking for, I can make a phone call and I know they'll find it for
03:05me.
03:05This is that moment that we found you an airplane and we're calling to see if you want it.
03:11What do you want for it?
03:12Well, I'm looking for 35.
03:14If you could help get it to Utah, I would buy it.
03:17What is this, a 28, 27, what is this?
03:1928, and they're fair on everything that I've dealt with them on.
03:23Is that original paint?
03:24Yeah.
03:25Look at that.
03:26This is my favorite bike to ride.
03:28No kidding.
03:29Did you get this running for him?
03:30Yeah.
03:30Kyle Rose, he's been a mechanic for me.
03:33Are you doing four-cylinder engines now?
03:35We tinker with them.
03:36He's actually a machinist, a fabricator, a welder.
03:39He just takes care of everything.
03:41He's the guy.
03:42How many fours you got?
03:43More than I need.
03:46Hey, I tell you what you don't have.
03:47What?
03:48You don't have this.
03:49Let's look at it.
03:50Let's go.
03:50I know, I know, man.
03:51It's nuts.
03:53Check it out.
03:54Oh, yeah.
03:56Bam.
03:57That's cool.
03:57Does it run?
03:58It runs really well.
03:59When I looked at it initially, the tanks were bone dry, sat for a long time, but the guy
04:03had set up correctly.
04:04The biggest problem was the brakes.
04:06You know, it's got hydraulic brakes on it like a car.
04:09You guys got ramps?
04:10Yeah.
04:13What do you got?
04:14Okay.
04:15I got one more just like it.
04:16All right.
04:17Thank you, buddy.
04:18Same deal.
04:19About halfway up.
04:20So basically, what we need is someone to run the brake.
04:23I'll do it.
04:24You're going to do it?
04:25I'll just drive it up.
04:26All right.
04:28Whoa, whoa.
04:29Okay.
04:30All right, you ready?
04:31I can't see .
04:32I know, I know.
04:34The brakes are a little spongy.
04:36How's he doing over there?
04:37You got it?
04:38Good.
04:38What's going on?
04:39Yeah.
04:39Let go of the brake.
04:40Whoa.
04:42No brake.
04:44Whoa, .
04:45Get on the brake.
04:46Get straight.
04:47I got it.
04:47Wait.
04:49I got it.
04:50Oh, yeah.
04:52And it's all intact, and it's on the ground.
04:54That went a little rougher than I thought it would, but it worked.
04:57I can rest a little easy.
04:58Isn't it wild how we customized the handlebars on it?
05:01The whole thing's cool.
05:01They kind of pulled them back and put this crossbar on it.
05:04Yeah.
05:04And I love the Indian headlight on it.
05:06Did you see that?
05:06I know.
05:07It's cool, right?
05:08It was nicer than the pictures presented it.
05:11It's definitely homemade.
05:12Yeah.
05:12If it was built in a guy's garage, in which I think it was.
05:16It was very professionally built.
05:18The color is what got me.
05:20I know, man.
05:21That's cool as .
05:21I know.
05:22It's untouched.
05:23It's a time capsule.
05:24They opened the station at like 30 or 31, but the bike's at 21.
05:28So obviously, it was an older bike when he started with it, you know?
05:32I just want to know who engineered it and built it.
05:34These are the actual photos.
05:35So that's all Gilmore.
05:37And so there was definitely a transition with brand.
05:39You can see where the line was.
05:41That's cool.
05:41You didn't get the line?
05:43No.
05:43I didn't get the line.
05:44You can find the line.
05:45Gilmore started in the early 1900s and ran until 1943 when Mobile bought Gilmore Oil Company.
05:53Anything Gilmore is so rare, and it's big money.
05:57You can see here, you know, where they changed this.
06:00Yep.
06:00Changed the brand.
06:01But this is the same.
06:02One of the great things about this bike is all the documentation, the photographs,
06:08talking to the family.
06:09And look at the car here.
06:10That looks like the back of like a Model A.
06:13Exactly.
06:13So that's Model A period.
06:15That's why it needs to be in a museum.
06:17You want people to feel connected to something.
06:19When they see the image of a family, how this was the workhorse created specifically for
06:24their business, they're immersed in the story.
06:27The biggest thing the family wanted, the family wanted it somewhere to be seen.
06:32Yeah, it'll show well in the museum.
06:34There's not a dent in it.
06:35Paint is good.
06:36It's over-the-top nice.
06:38Do you guys want to hear it run?
06:39Yeah.
06:39Hell yeah.
06:40I want to ride it.
06:40All right, dude.
06:48What are you doing?
06:49I just took this IQ test, scored a 121.
06:52Get out of here, dude.
06:53Are you kidding?
06:54What do you mean?
06:54I did.
06:55The average is like 90 or something, isn't it?
06:57Well, it's smarter than most people, wouldn't you think?
06:59Oh, come on, Robbie.
07:00If you got a 121, man, I'd be like a 200.
07:02Okay.
07:03So, Jersey, I got a question for you.
07:04It almost stumped me, but I figured it out.
07:07Go ahead.
07:08Okay.
07:08A bat and a ball cost $1.10.
07:12Yep.
07:12The bat cost a dollar more than the ball.
07:15Yeah.
07:15What is the cost of the ball?
07:1710 cents.
07:18The bat is $1.05.
07:21What?
07:21The ball is 5 cents.
07:23You ain't gonna buy a ball for 5 cents anywhere anymore.
07:26Listen.
07:26I didn't know there was gonna be algebra this morning.
07:28No.
07:29Jersey, you're really smart, but you're just not as smart as me.
07:35There's no way, dude.
07:41Danny, what's up?
07:42Hello.
07:43How are my boys doing this beautiful morning?
07:45Hey, Robbie, ask Curtis question.
07:47Okay.
07:48Hey, Danny, if I had a bat and ball and it cost $1.10,
07:51and the bat was a dollar more than the ball,
07:55what does the ball cost?
07:56Five cents for the ball.
07:57How does she know that?
07:59I do not have time for this.
08:00What do you got for us, Danny?
08:02All right, listen.
08:02Hey, I got you guys a lead.
08:04And you're both gonna love it.
08:05All right.
08:05I'm gonna send you to meet David and Carol.
08:07They're the sweetest couple.
08:09They both love history.
08:10And Carol is a historic interpreter that dresses up as Betsy Ross.
08:15Wow.
08:15Sounds like my mom.
08:16Yeah, yeah.
08:17Mrs. Claus.
08:17Yeah.
08:18Yeah, you're gonna love it.
08:19And David's family has a property that they've been on for like 120 plus years.
08:24Whoa.
08:25Wow.
08:25So they're at this point where they have so much accumulation from all these generations.
08:29And then on top of that, David's father was a collector as well.
08:33All right.
08:33On top of that, David is a woodworker.
08:36Yes.
08:38I love that.
08:39Wow.
08:40So you know what that means, right?
08:41Lots of tools.
08:42Yes.
08:43And not only that, they got all kinds of stuff.
08:44You got Jersey all jazzed up.
08:45Okay, listen.
08:46You guys have fun.
08:47I'm gonna get back to work.
08:48You just let me know how it goes.
08:49All right.
08:50Thanks, Danny.
08:50Looks like a great day.
08:52It was a great day.
08:53Woodworking.
08:54All right.
08:54I'll see you later.
08:55Bye.
09:05It's all farmland out here.
09:07Look at this.
09:07It's beautiful out here.
09:08PA, man.
09:09Oh, I love this.
09:10Yeah.
09:10Rolling hills.
09:11Yeah.
09:12I think it's right here.
09:13Oh, yeah.
09:14This is it.
09:15It's a man.
09:16Yeah.
09:16Let's see what these guys got.
09:19All right.
09:21Oh.
09:21Hey, isn't this house killer?
09:23Yeah, it's beautiful.
09:23A little of stonework on it.
09:25The flagstone path.
09:27Yeah.
09:29Hello.
09:30Hey.
09:31Are you Carol?
09:32Hi.
09:32Yeah, I am Carol.
09:33How are you doing, Rob?
09:34Nice to meet you.
09:34You talked to Danielle?
09:35I'm John.
09:36Nice to meet you, too.
09:36Nice to meet you.
09:37Yes, Danielle called.
09:38Yeah.
09:39She said you were looking for some things.
09:41Yeah.
09:41Okay, all right.
09:42You're looking for a lot of things.
09:43Oh, yeah.
09:44But you know what?
09:44My husband is gonna know more about this than I am.
09:47All right.
09:47So let me shut the door here.
09:49Okay.
09:49And can I take you out?
09:50Yeah.
09:51Leave it away.
09:51All right.
09:52What a beautiful property.
09:53Thank you so much.
09:55You know, this property has been in my husband's family for 120 years.
10:00Wow.
10:01These trees gotta be 100 years old.
10:02Well, they're older than you are.
10:04Okay.
10:05I promise you that.
10:06Yo, Dave.
10:07Yeah.
10:07You've got two people that you wanna meet.
10:10Hey.
10:11I'll let them introduce themselves.
10:12How are you?
10:12Dave, how you doing?
10:13Rob, nice to meet you.
10:15I'm John.
10:16I hear you're a woodworker.
10:17Yeah, I'd do a little bit.
10:19A little bit?
10:19All right.
10:19Cool.
10:20We're gonna get along just fine.
10:22Dave, they've got their list of some of these things.
10:24Bull machines.
10:25We got that.
10:26Pedal cars.
10:27We got a couple of those.
10:28Stanley number one.
10:29Oh, boy.
10:30I have to look.
10:31I might, but I may not know where it is.
10:33Jersey's been looking for one for 20 years.
10:35I understand.
10:35Yeah.
10:36You and a million other guys are looking for that.
10:37I know, right?
10:38Listen, I have a few things to do here.
10:41Carol could take you up in the attic.
10:43Maybe some of this stuff you may find over there.
10:45Okay.
10:46Stanley number one.
10:47There you go.
10:48Okay, guys.
10:49Then you're with me.
10:50Okay.
10:50I'll see you in a minute.
10:52All right.
10:52Thanks.
10:53We're gonna go up these steps.
10:55I'm gonna go up first.
10:56Wow.
10:57This is good.
10:58Hardware.
10:58Oh, tools.
10:59Wow.
11:00Toys.
11:00Oh, yeah.
11:01Got everything up here.
11:02Everything.
11:03This is great.
11:03It's the accumulation of several lifetimes, not just hours.
11:10Some of the stuff has been here probably 50, 60 years.
11:12So let's look at the catch-all.
11:14Yes.
11:14Go to it.
11:15What the heck is this?
11:17This is like an aeronautics piece or something.
11:19Here, hold on to that.
11:20All right.
11:20Look at the gauge.
11:22Yeah.
11:22There's a little piece of paper in here.
11:23Hold on.
11:24It's an anemometer.
11:25Okay.
11:25So it measures air flow.
11:27Like maybe in a coal mine in Pennsylvania somewhere, they could see that there's enough air going
11:30through the mine for the miners.
11:32Long ago, mine safety wasn't even an issue.
11:34They would send those miners down to shafts, and they're on their own.
11:36Very quickly, as these mines got deeper and deeper, ventilation becomes an issue.
11:41Some of these mines go down for miles.
11:43So a device like this is measuring the flow of the air.
11:46Those veins in the back are spinning at the lightest breeze, and they're gonna quantify it.
11:51They're gonna measure it.
11:51It's got a jewel in the back like a clock.
11:53Oh, wow.
11:54So that's not working anymore, but a gauge on it is just gorgeous.
11:58Look how beautiful that is.
11:59It's made like a watch.
12:00It's a very high-precision, high-quality instrument.
12:03You know, something like this working is like $125, $150, but because it needs work,
12:07I'd give you 50 bucks.
12:09Hey, that sounds very fair to me.
12:11I am a terrible negotiator.
12:14I mean, just awful.
12:15And if Dave doesn't like it, he'll blame it on me.
12:17Well, we can talk to Dave if there's any problem, but we can definitely figure this out.
12:22Lovely.
12:31You guys want to hear it run?
12:32Yeah.
12:32Hell yeah.
12:33We'll ride it.
12:33All right.
12:35All right.
12:36All right.
12:37Let's see.
12:58I don't care how old you are or how long you've been doing this.
13:01When you get around something that you have never ridden before, something as unique as
13:06this, it's going to put a smile on your face.
13:16Oh, .
13:18The brakes work.
13:20The brakes work.
13:22Here, dude.
13:23Get on it, Rick.
13:24Run it.
13:24Roll it around.
13:26Can I roll it?
13:27Rick and I are basically like big kids, man.
13:30I mean, to hear this bike run is a big deal because it sat for so long and it was
13:37so coveted
13:38by the family.
13:39Look at him.
13:40Look at him.
13:41Here he comes.
13:49Now it's at a museum and it's running up and down the parking lot.
13:54This is epic.
13:56The brakes work.
13:57They're not bad.
14:00What do you think?
14:01That's cool as hell.
14:02I know.
14:03I mean, it's loading up a little bit.
14:04I mean, it needs a little tune up or something.
14:06How much you want for this?
14:08Oh, man.
14:12With what we have in it, like $46,000.
14:20Buying bikes, you know, the last 25 years, I thought the price that he offered it to me
14:26for was more than fair.
14:27Where are you going to find another one?
14:30Done.
14:33Dude, I'm so happy you got it.
14:35It is nice.
14:35It needs to be somewhere where people can connect with it over and over again.
14:41Not in someone's collection that they're just going to enjoy it personally.
14:45This needs to be out in the public like it was from day one when it was created.
14:50Where do you think you're going to put it?
14:51We can go look.
14:52I want to see it, man.
15:04I want to see it.
15:04Jersey, you see this thing?
15:07I know.
15:07I was on that.
15:08What could it be for?
15:10I don't know.
15:10It says aircraft tongs.
15:12But there's no tong on the end.
15:13It's weird.
15:14It's got a pistol grip on one side.
15:16Does it activate through the pistol?
15:18This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to get out of bed in the morning.
15:21The oddities.
15:22Are you willing to bring it down to Dave and see whether Dave knows?
15:26Yeah, I'd love to take it down to him.
15:27I'd like to know what it is.
15:28I mean, that thing is weird.
15:29Jersey doesn't even know what it is.
15:31That makes me want to buy it.
15:32The other thing I found was this box.
15:35And in the box were a bunch of meat cleavers.
15:42They're all marked.
15:43There's a shop down in Columbia that's opening up as a butcher.
15:47My brother's been buying stuff like this for them.
15:49These cleavers have wooden handles with rivets on them.
15:52They look like they came from a blacksmith, but they are commercially made.
15:56I found a couple of Hershey trays, Hershey chocolates, small ones.
16:00This one's kind of unique.
16:01It says Hershey going across it.
16:04Yeah, it's totally different.
16:05You use the name on one as opposed to the individual letters.
16:08Yes, exactly.
16:09For each piece.
16:09That is an unusual one.
16:10So this box, there's a little wisp broom in there.
16:13That's horse hair.
16:14There's also a...
16:15Oh, an oiler.
16:16Oil, yeah.
16:17Oiler.
16:17Yep.
16:18Goes on a hit and miss engine.
16:19Two, three.
16:21325.
16:24225 to me sounds 325.
16:27325.
16:27325.
16:27325.
16:28325.
16:28325.
16:29You mean butcher knives are worth that much?
16:31Yeah, those.
16:31Oh, yeah.
16:32For cleaver knives?
16:33For these things?
16:34I'm like, why?
16:36When I say 325, let's make it $340 instead of Pennsylvania 1932 plates.
16:43Okay.
16:45367R9.
16:45Can we go 350?
16:46I like round numbers that way.
16:48She loves round numbers.
16:48You okay with that?
16:49350?
16:49I love it.
16:50Awesome.
16:52They're pulling things here, pulling things there.
16:54And I think my biggest thought was, keep pulling.
16:57Come on.
16:58Get in there.
16:58Get some more stuff out.
17:00Because I want to get rid of this stuff.
17:02Look at this.
17:03Nice hand-carved cane.
17:05And it's got some inscriptions on it.
17:07Fred signed this cane.
17:09Fab.
17:09I think this piece is from a college frat house.
17:11From a fraternity.
17:12Turned a century.
17:13Maybe 1920.
17:14The latest.
17:15It's folk art.
17:16It fits you perfectly.
17:17And just look at that pose.
17:18I mean, that's perfect.
17:19Like George Washington.
17:20Walk down the...
17:20No, you do not look like George Washington.
17:22So sorry.
17:23You're not going to make it for George Washington.
17:24I got the long hair.
17:25Yeah, no.
17:26How about Alexander Hamilton?
17:28Alexander Hamilton.
17:29I'll take it.
17:29He's like a perfect Hamilton.
17:31But I'm thinking maybe he's a little Weasley.
17:33Like Hamilton is.
17:35I did not say that to his face.
17:37Danny was saying that you did some reenactment.
17:39I do.
17:39I like to play flag makers.
17:41Our premier flag maker.
17:42Betsy Ross?
17:43Yes.
17:43You know it.
17:44I shall say all my names together.
17:46Tis Elizabeth, Griscom, Ross, Ashburn, Claypool.
17:50Wow.
17:50I feel like I'm back in, you know, 1750.
17:53There is a need for that in the world of history.
17:56To bring the people of the past alive.
17:58Also, I see there's another cane here.
18:02This is a little bit more simpler.
18:03That's a lot simpler.
18:04If I threw this one in with it, would you be willing to pay $100 for that cane?
18:08I was thinking $75 for the two.
18:10Well, that was my other thought, but I was going to try and get the $100 out of you.
18:12Do you want to do $100?
18:13If you're willing to do the $100.
18:14You know what?
18:15I had the reenactment.
18:16That was worth the extra $25.
18:18That was worth more than that, but I'll take it.
18:20Okay.
18:20Deal.
18:21$100.
18:21Thank you so much.
18:30Carol and I found, they look like their original photos, but they're marked the Philadelphia
18:35Museums.
18:36These are amazing.
18:37One of my favorite things to find are photographs, especially large photographs.
18:42I was separating the rice from the straw of Japan, so it tells the story on the back
18:45of each one.
18:47Coal mines, I guess.
18:47Entrance to a coal mine in West Virginia.
18:49I mean, look at these guys' faces.
18:50Oil wells in Los Angeles.
18:53Yeah, I love that one.
18:54I love that one down here.
18:54Belmont Avenue.
18:55You can read about the past or listen to somebody tell you about the past.
18:59In a photograph, you actually get to see it.
19:01Here you go.
19:02Look at this.
19:02The cotton market in Montgomery, Alabama, all horse-driven.
19:07Look at the advertising.
19:08See, for me, the advertising is the key to that.
19:10I collect advertising.
19:11So in the background, I want to see what was going on in the early 1900s.
19:16So, I mean, do you want to sell these?
19:18Yeah, definitely.
19:19Okay.
19:19There's like 37 of these total.
19:22All right.
19:24I'd like to be, I'd like to be at like $500.
19:27Because some are going to bring more than others.
19:29I think $500 is a fair price for them.
19:31All right.
19:32I thank you.
19:32If you're willing, I'm willing.
19:34All right.
19:34Thank you so much.
19:35Some of these photos are more interesting than others.
19:37But you can't split these up.
19:39They came from a museum.
19:40They were displayed together.
19:42But you know what?
19:42There is a lot more to see.
19:44Let's go take a look.
19:44So if we can move on.
19:45Yeah, awesome.
19:46Just like we're in a parade.
19:47A historic.
19:48The Bessie Rock Parade.
19:50Here we go.
19:55So who was the architect on this place?
19:57I was.
19:58And how long did it take you to build this?
19:59Two years.
20:00Wow.
20:01This building is purposely built for your collection.
20:04For the collection.
20:05It feels like a factory.
20:07But it's so much more than that.
20:09Because of the height of the ceiling.
20:11The mezzanines.
20:12The things that he's got hanging from the ceiling.
20:14It's a really beautifully created space.
20:17So we wanted that to look like a old chopper shop.
20:20Yeah, yeah.
20:21It's one thing to put all these choppers in one room.
20:23But it's another to curate the space.
20:26To make it look like an old chopper shop.
20:29It's legit, man.
20:30Where you really feel like you've walked back into the 60s and 70s.
20:35I don't know that I'm really a chopper guy.
20:38You're definitely a chopper guy.
20:39Can I sit on this thing?
20:41Yeah.
20:41This is probably the most famous chopper in the world.
20:43One of.
20:56It actually rides pretty nice.
20:58Oh, you rode it?
20:59Yeah.
21:00Oh, man.
21:01Most of the bikes that we get in, we try and start them up and go for a ride on.
21:04Everything you're doing in here is you're doing it right.
21:07It's like it just pulls you into the next room, the next room.
21:10The way he's curated it and designed it, the paths just lead you through these naturally
21:16lit spaces.
21:17I see you got all the big twins over here, man.
21:20Yeah, I wanted to get all the knuckles.
21:2236, 37, 38.
21:23You look like you're doing pretty good.
21:25Man, I'm so glad you ended up with this bike, Rick.
21:28I mean, this is where it really deserves to be, where a lot of people can see it.
21:32Well, the Bond Dutch bike is one of a kind.
21:34Where are you going to find another one?
21:37Oh, my God.
21:39Wow.
21:41Dutch did many things with Volkswagens, but this is the Von Dutch motorcycle.
21:46Oh, yeah.
21:47Yeah.
21:47So when Mike gave me the opportunity to buy that Von Dutch bike, I thought, oh, hell yeah.
21:52I'm not even going to question it.
21:54I think this is the best piece that he ever did, just because he pinstriped so much of it.
21:58I love the bike.
21:59It's incredible.
22:00But I let the Von Dutch bike go to Rick because of the place that he has created.
22:06To me, it needed a bigger audience.
22:16Okay, guys.
22:17We're going to go in and see Dave.
22:18And he's anywhere.
22:19I hear a saw.
22:20Yeah.
22:20He's got to be.
22:21He's in the workshop.
22:22He's got to be.
22:22That's where I would be.
22:23Grab this stuff on the way out.
22:25Right.
22:25Because I figured Dave would know what this is.
22:27He better know what that is, and he's going to know what that's worth.
22:30Yeah.
22:30So let's go.
22:31All right.
22:32I don't want to distract this guy.
22:34Yo.
22:35Yo.
22:35Hey.
22:36Yo.
22:37How are you?
22:38This is my world, man.
22:39I love it here.
22:40This is great.
22:42A woodworker, obviously.
22:43The world of wood.
22:45The world of wood.
22:45The world of wood.
22:46So Dave, your wife said you'd know what this was, because Jersey doesn't even know what
22:50I don't know what it is.
22:52It is a riveter.
22:53This was a riveting tool?
22:54Now it got me intrigued.
22:56I want to know more of the history of this thing.
22:58It's so cool to hear it come out of his mouth, versus coming out of Jersey's.
23:03It's just, you put it on the rivet, and you pound down that way.
23:07Okay.
23:08And there's a lot of weight there.
23:09It gives it the impact.
23:10It is heavy.
23:11So it's like a rivet setter.
23:12Yeah, more or less.
23:13How much is it?
23:14I don't know.
23:15They had an auction for a hundred bucks.
23:1850 bucks.
23:20Split in the middle.
23:20How about the middle?
23:22That is the middle.
23:2275.
23:23Okay, here.
23:24Oh, you're gonna package this?
23:26Yeah.
23:27The Pensy oil can.
23:29Dirty.
23:29Got a dent in it.
23:30Yeah.
23:31It is a two gallon.
23:32What's your offer on a pair?
23:35Two and a quarter.
23:40Yeah, I'm not good.
23:42Two thirty-five, I think.
23:43Give me another ten.
23:45I'm really jerking you.
23:46Ten bucks.
23:47Man, you're right.
23:48He's tough.
23:49I told you.
23:49I told you.
24:05I told you.
24:06You got a nice table saw.
24:07I love how you put the router table next to the shaper over here.
24:10Focus.
24:10Focus.
24:11This way.
24:12Push, push.
24:13Let's go.
24:14I love your workshop.
24:15I'm gonna make you use your cane.
24:17Get in here.
24:17Okay?
24:18Wow.
24:19Look at this place.
24:20Holy mackerel.
24:21Woo.
24:22Lots to see in here.
24:23This is definitely a museum.
24:24Definitely a lot to see in here.
24:26Wow.
24:26He collected everything.
24:27It is really well curated and it's full of smalls.
24:31What is this stuff?
24:32Those are all watch fobs.
24:34A watch fob was made so you could easily access your pocket watch.
24:37Whether it was attached to your belt or a quick grab from your pocket.
24:40Put your watch pocket in there and the fob would be over.
24:43Man.
24:43So you collected these?
24:44My dad.
24:45This is your dad's stuff.
24:46My dad's collecting.
24:47Interesting.
24:47So about 600 of them or so we guessed.
24:49A lot of these fobs are machinery because Dave's dad was an excavator.
24:53I love my dad.
24:54My dad was my best friend and I was so honored when I had a son I was able to
24:59name him after
25:00him.
25:01Happiest moment of my life.
25:02These are really beautiful.
25:04We'd be interested in buying it as a collection.
25:05If there's one in here or two that you really you can't live without I would probably
25:10part with it because I have a lot.
25:12Right.
25:12You don't want to sell as a collection and I get that.
25:14My wife wants me to sell that collection.
25:16Well no wait.
25:17I'm not as bad as that.
25:19Maybe it's just not time.
25:20Yeah.
25:20Well maybe it's not time for him.
25:22I remember the nights that he would spend arranging them and labeling and placing them and that
25:27brought so much memory of my dad.
25:28There's a lot of other stuff in here.
25:30That's why I can see this place is packed to the gills.
25:38Oh man.
25:40This is the room I've heard so much about.
25:42This is all pre-20 unrestored.
25:44Oh my gosh.
25:45Walking into a room like this.
25:47This is what every pre-1915 American motorcycle collector dreams of.
25:53Overhead valve single man.
25:55Belt drive.
25:56A lot of the stuff I do.
25:57The nostalgia of it takes you back in time.
26:00Oh 12 Henderson original paint.
26:03This has got to be the nicest one in the world.
26:05That's the only original in the world.
26:06It's the only original paint one in the world.
26:08Wow.
26:09Doc Cleveland had this bike on the East Coast.
26:11It was always infamous.
26:13And then he passed away and I think his daughter sold it to the National Motorcycle Museum.
26:18Sold it to John Parham.
26:19Guys like Doc Cleveland, John Parham, Rick.
26:23All of their stories are directly connected to this bike.
26:27When John first got it.
26:28See this little tear right here?
26:30Yeah.
26:30And see how that's kind of cracking right there?
26:32Yeah.
26:33Robbie sat on it.
26:36Robbie gets on it and John's like.
26:39And then you can tell he felt something go.
26:42And he goes.
26:42And he got off it and he was just like this.
26:45And John's like.
26:46Oh man.
26:47Oh man.
26:49So it's still got the Robbie seat on it.
26:52You can't talk about Rick's motorcycle collection without talking about John Parham.
26:57Because there's so many bikes in here that were in the National Motorcycle Museum that John owned for so many
27:04years.
27:05Hey, what's up?
27:06Where should we go?
27:09What's up man?
27:10Good to see ya.
27:10We've got about 325 motorcycles on display.
27:14But we also have old signs, photographs, race posters, advertisements.
27:20That tells the whole history of motorcycling.
27:23He was a mentor to Rick, myself and so many other people.
27:28The Limited, the Fielbach.
27:29I think they only made these for like two years.
27:32Oh my gosh.
27:33The Fielbach Limited?
27:34This is probably one of the nicest on the planet original paint.
27:38I've looked at this bike in a book over and over again.
27:53This is one of the all time most incredible motorcycles that were ever built to me.
28:06You can really see what Don collected.
28:09Most of these shelves have not been touched since he passed in 1991.
28:14I don't want to come in here with guns blazing.
28:16I want to take a minute and I want to understand where David's at.
28:19Some of this stuff might be for sale, some not.
28:21Hey, what'd you find?
28:23Doorstop.
28:24Missing the tail.
28:25It's got a great look to it though.
28:26Yeah.
28:27What do you think like 60?
28:3050.
28:32I'll let it go for that.
28:33It's broken.
28:34I appreciate that.
28:35There's another piece.
28:37Oh, this piece right here, Dave.
28:38It actually looks like an old lamp and it's got to be copper.
28:41Yeah.
28:42It is.
28:42That brass.
28:43That is in fact a naked woman, you know.
28:45Oh, I know what it is.
28:48It's just cool, you know.
28:50It's a great shelf piece.
28:53This thing looks like it's a motometer off of an early car.
28:56It's small enough to look like a hood ornament.
28:58That's why I want to buy it.
29:0050 bucks.
29:01I'm not going to fight you on that one.
29:03That's...
29:03All right.
29:04I appreciate it, buddy.
29:04There were so many smalls here that it was incredible.
29:07Diamond T.
29:08That's a truck that I've searched for the last 35 years.
29:12Oh, wow.
29:12The 201.
29:13The mirror shows its age, but at the top of it has the Diamond T logo.
29:17They were known for building heavy-duty commercial trucks.
29:20You know, to me being a truck guy, the Diamond T 201 was the most beautiful pickup truck ever built
29:26in America.
29:27But it's got a tractor on it.
29:28Isaac Culp, Creamery, Pennsylvania.
29:30Creamery is about five miles from here.
29:32Uh, 25 bucks.
29:36They get 30.
29:38All right.
29:38I'm just busting it for five.
29:39That's all right.
29:40I don't care.
29:41That's cool.
29:41It's cool.
29:47I've got one over here that you'll probably know more about than I do.
29:51There you go.
29:51Oh, the nine.
29:52Yeah, that was John's nine.
29:54Yeah.
29:54That's out of Wisconsin.
29:55It was a police bike.
29:57It's still got that decal on the tank.
29:59Look at that.
29:59This was such a transitional bike.
30:01I mean, obviously, you've got that whole lineage here of Harley with the strap tanks and stuff.
30:06I've just got to be known for having strap tanks because the strap tanks I have are probably the best
30:12out there.
30:12That came out of Kohl's auction, right?
30:14Yeah, EJ.
30:15It's the nicest original paint strap tank Harley.
30:18I think it's the only original.
30:20It's the only one.
30:21Yeah.
30:22Did you buy this at his auction?
30:23I did.
30:23How much was it back then?
30:25I paid, uh, like $700,000 for it.
30:29Really?
30:30And then when you bought this, wasn't this a record setting price too for American motorcycle?
30:34At the time.
30:34It's epic.
30:35I mean...
30:35Well, I got caught up in the moment.
30:37I wasn't going to lose it.
30:38I love your spirit, man.
30:39Rick is really one of the architects of the antique motorcycle industry because he's bought at record prices and he's
30:46sold at record prices.
30:47But he has curated such a high-end, impossible-to-find collection that it's known throughout the world.
30:54I was wondering when I was going to see the early Indians.
30:56Oh.
30:57Yeah.
30:58Woo!
30:58Look at this.
30:59I wanted to do the Indian display because, number one, there's such a difference between an Indian motorcycle and a
31:05Harley.
31:05So this is a three, that's a six, and that's a seven?
31:11Yes.
31:11The Indian motorcycle is basically a bicycle with a motor on it.
31:16The tires are smaller, the frame is shorter, the engine's smaller.
31:19Man, this is so early.
31:21I mean, think about it.
31:2103, man.
31:23Wow.
31:24I love the throttle on these things.
31:26The greatest thing about Indian to me is the early racing history, the engineering.
31:31It's just so untouched, man.
31:32Yeah, it's all original.
31:34Paint the whole thing.
31:351903, man.
31:35Indian was the first American motorcycle that started mass-producing bikes.
31:40In 1907, when Harley was making 150 motorcycles a year, Indian was making 2,500 motorcycles a year.
31:49Just designing product and putting it out as fast as they could to the public.
31:53What's going on with the project?
31:55What is this?
31:55What is this thing?
31:56I bought that from Bobby Green.
31:58Get out of here.
31:59You bought this from Bobby.
32:00Can I pull it out of here?
32:01Yeah.
32:01Let's look at this thing.
32:02The 05 is bits and pieces of a motorcycle that I bought maybe 15 years ago.
32:07The story Bobby told me on this bike, he found it in a machine shop in California in a box.
32:13Somebody took it in there to get some work done on it.
32:16They never came and picked it up.
32:17Wow.
32:18This is exactly how it was other than the tank that I put on.
32:22I don't have anything planned to do with this bike right now.
32:26I've got more projects than I can handle.
32:28Would you sell this?
32:31Uh...
32:43Would you sell this?
32:45Uh...
32:46Some of this looks to be original and then other looks pretty hokey.
32:50This one piece right here is original to it.
32:53It doesn't even have the right wheels on it.
32:54So what you've got here is you've got frame, fork, eccentric, gearing here, the engine, the carb, an original oil
33:04tank, reproduction fuel tank.
33:07Well, I was all enthused about rebuilding it when I first got it.
33:10Yeah, yeah, yeah.
33:11Then I ended up buying the three that are all there and all original.
33:13Yeah, then you're jacked up on that.
33:15So I kind of lost interest in this.
33:16Here's the deal.
33:17I would like to make you an offer on it, but to be honest with you, I've got to digest
33:20it because I'm looking at it from a parts standpoint.
33:23I'll think about it.
33:24Okay.
33:25No, listen.
33:25I'm not saying no.
33:26No, I mean, listen, man.
33:28I'm glad that you're letting me ponder it.
33:30I just want to make you a good offer and I want to be more educated on it himself.
33:34I probably end up texting Jersey.
33:37He's making so much of this stuff.
33:39Right.
33:39I'll talk to him.
33:40Yeah, let me know.
33:41I'm not opposed to selling it.
33:42Yeah.
33:43What about the field box?
33:44Would you sell that?
33:50Why don't you come over here?
33:52Besides the museum, Dave's dad has like an annex.
33:56There we go.
33:58You guys love it.
34:00It's actually golden light coming out of here.
34:02Dave, you got some cool stuff in here.
34:04A lot of tools.
34:04I haven't been in there for years.
34:06You know what's great is all these oilers that are in here.
34:10All different.
34:10I mean, these are Fords.
34:12Was he a Ford guy?
34:13Yeah.
34:13I'm a Ford guy.
34:14This probably gave it away when they bought that John Deere tractor.
34:17Back in the early days when they used to sell you a sewing machine, the oiling can came with it.
34:22You had to oil your sewing machine every day.
34:24When you bought a John Deere, they gave you a John Deere oil can to show you what points you
34:28need to oil.
34:29Here's some Texaco.
34:30You know, Texaco is notorious for doing home lubrication.
34:33I think that's two different ones, yeah.
34:35Nowadays, everything is a sealed bearing.
34:37You don't get the oil can anymore.
34:39I look at that as being a nice empty shelf if you're able to make a deal for everything.
34:45This one probably is the most expensive one you got.
34:48I would say that can's worth $300.
34:49There's over 50 oilers here.
34:51The majority of these are going to be worth $20 to $30.
34:54There's a couple of them that are worth $150 to $300.
34:57So you got to average all that out.
35:00$900 for all of them.
35:02I'm thinking $10.50.
35:04$1,050.
35:05Yeah.
35:07Throw in the bottle and do $1,000.
35:09I'll throw in the bottle and do $10.50.
35:12You good?
35:13Yeah.
35:13He's a hard one.
35:14I appreciate you.
35:15Okay.
35:16Hey, I like dealing with Dave.
35:22Hey, what's up?
35:24Hey, what's up?
35:25Did you get the pictures of that Indian?
35:26Yeah, dude.
35:26My question to you is, if it was just a frame and fork, what do you think the frame and
35:31fork would be worth?
35:32Yeah, just the frame and the fork, dude, is $20,000, $25,000.
35:35I mean, it's real deal.
35:36Yeah.
35:37It's real stuff.
35:38We haven't seen that diamond frame for sale forever.
35:40What do you think the engine and the carburetor's worth?
35:43Oh, man.
35:44They're getting so hard to find anymore.
35:45The carbony engine's got to be worth $12,000, dude.
35:47Okay, so if I'm piecing it together, I mean, I want to make him a solid offer because
35:51he never sells anything.
35:52I don't want to pay too much because basically I'm buying parts.
35:56This bike has the wrong hubs.
35:58It has the wrong wheels.
35:59It has the wrong fenders.
36:00It's got a lot of hobo-looking linkage on it.
36:03I don't know, dude.
36:04I'd probably say $40,000, $45,000.
36:09That's what I was thinking.
36:10I mean, if you have an opportunity to buy that bike, you've got to buy it.
36:12But, man, I mean, to find anything pre-1910 Indian, the diamond frame stuff, forget about
36:20it.
36:21I value your opinion.
36:22I know you know your stuff on this diamond frame Indian stuff, man.
36:25Well, I appreciate that, man.
36:26Yeah.
36:26I'm going to go back in there and see if I can buy it.
36:28Hey, you did it, corn cob.
36:30It's knocking off.
36:32Bye.
36:36Hey, Dave, I'm bringing this frigging bicycle out, man.
36:39This thing is awesome.
36:40Do you need help?
36:40No, no, no, no.
36:41But it's heavy, man.
36:42I mean, I can't imagine some kid.
36:45Ugh.
36:46Look at this thing.
36:47That'd be a big kid.
36:47Had to be a big kid though.
36:48Yeah.
36:49Look at this one, Jersey.
36:50Oh, that's a Toledo, dude.
36:52Yeah, look at this.
36:53Wow.
36:55Look at this thing.
36:56It's got a cash seat.
36:57It's got the mustache handlebars.
36:58It's got the radial spoked wheels.
37:00The crank's got the slots like the regular High Wheeler does.
37:02The hubs are really nicely made.
37:04The patina's all even.
37:05There's not really any repairs on it.
37:07It's really cool.
37:09This is a high quality juvenile trike.
37:11This was a stepping stone into the High Wheeler.
37:14This is a safe way to learn to ride a bigger bike.
37:17This is back 1880, 1875.
37:20At this time, they didn't have the safety bike with two even wheels.
37:22Where it sits on the evolution of bicycles, it's a transitional time.
37:27We're getting away from the High Wheeler going into the safety bikes.
37:30And that's what we know now as the modern bicycle.
37:33Hasn't changed.
37:34Think about it back in the day.
37:35This was a social event when the Wheelmen's Club would be out there,
37:39and they would have all these guys riding their beautiful High Wheelers.
37:42And the kids were like, I want to be like that.
37:44And so some rich kid had this thing.
37:45There's not much to these bikes, so the smallest detail is going to affect value.
37:50The leather seat cover's missing.
37:52The grips are missing.
37:53The leather on the seat is going to cost a couple hundred bucks to fix.
37:56The grips are going to cost a couple hundred bucks to fix.
37:58We have to be very careful about what we pay for this.
38:01I think retail on this thing is probably $800 to $1,000.
38:05So I'd like to make you an offer on it.
38:07I have a number in my head, so go ahead.
38:09No, I want to hear your...
38:11No, you first.
38:12Me first?
38:13I'm thinking $600.
38:15That's exactly the number I was thinking.
38:16We think alike.
38:18You know what?
38:18We not only dress alike.
38:19You've got to make a deal on it.
38:21We are wearing a mind meld.
38:22What are we wearing the Mars?
38:24Yeah.
38:24I'm going to wear my gray shirt.
38:26Okay.
38:26All right?
38:27You know, this is something that you don't see very often.
38:30This is something really special.
38:32That thing is cool, Robbie.
38:34Dave, did you paint this thing?
38:35I think my dad, I remember him doing that.
38:38I was probably done with a brush.
38:40Yeah, for sure.
38:42The pedal car.
38:42Of course, they hated to see it all painted, but I remember my dad specifically working
38:47on that.
38:48I would have loved to.
38:48It was just rusty.
38:49Yeah.
38:50But back when that was done, it was probably not the Vogue.
38:52Yeah.
38:53You fixed them up, you painted them.
38:54Yeah, sure.
38:55Made it look cool.
38:55So, you know, over the last 30, 40 years, we had a mentor.
38:59His name was Elmer Duhlman.
39:00They wrote every book about Elmer and his collection.
39:03He went all over the world and collected pedal cars.
39:06Wow.
39:06And he lived in Wisconsin.
39:07He passed away a couple years ago, but, you know, he always taught us what to look for
39:11on this stuff.
39:12The hood ornament.
39:13It's got the airplane on it.
39:14Yeah.
39:15It's missing a little piece on there.
39:16The horn's missing over here.
39:22450.
39:26You know what?
39:29I should bust you for more.
39:32Oh, come on.
39:33475.
39:34How's that?
39:34Just for a matter.
39:35I was thinking 500 when we were talking about it because, but.
39:38And then I would have said, let's meet in the middle.
39:40Let's meet in the middle.
39:40And then you would have said, I would have said 450.
39:42That's good, man.
39:42That's efficiency in negotiation.
39:44That's right.
39:44499.
39:48You're the best, man.
39:49Yeah.
39:49I love it.
39:50This is great.
39:51Yeah.
39:51I mean, we had a great day with you today.
39:53This has been fantastic.
39:54It's been fun.
39:54But we got a three hour ride in front of us and we got to load up.
39:56We got to load up.
39:57Any time I get to get on a property that's 120 years of accumulation and a collection,
40:03I feel blessed.
40:04Glad you guys found some things that you love.
40:07Absolutely.
40:07Dave's dad would love every moment of what happened.
40:11Oh, yeah.
40:12Maybe argue with a couple of the deals.
40:14Yeah.
40:14But overall, Dave's dad.
40:15He would have been pleased.
40:17Loads going down the road.
40:19I'm glad your dad was a small spree, kind of like me.
40:21He loved all that stuff.
40:22I loved you.
40:23Thank you guys for sharing the story.
40:24I had you over.
40:25Betsy Ross.
40:26Yep.
40:27See the mirror?
40:28Roll the straw.
40:29Look at this.
40:29Keep the black shirt rolling.
40:32Yeah, they are.
40:32The Blues Brothers, right?
40:36Say right now.
40:37Honky Tonk feeling.
40:39See ya.
40:42All right.
40:43So I talked to Jersey John, you know, and he was giving me the skinny on everything.
40:48In my mind, I'm thinking, okay, I paid 40 grand for that bike and it was 10, 12, 15 years
40:54ago.
40:54So, so it depends on what Mike offers me for it.
40:58Can I make you an offer on it?
41:00Ah, sure.
41:01For what's here and you understanding the acquiring the rest of it, I'm thinking 45 grand.
41:10I've got Indians.
41:11They're all done.
41:12I didn't really need another one.
41:14And the time it would take for me to put that bike together would be easy a year to 18
41:18months.
41:19I would rather work on a project that I don't have one like it than rebuild something I already have.
41:26Uh, where I have the others and it doesn't, I have no intention to do anything with it.
41:31I would sell it to you for 45.
41:33You would?
41:34I would.
41:35Okay.
41:36Thank you, buddy.
41:37I love it.
41:38I mean, are you kidding me?
41:39I'm in heaven over.
41:40I mean, I'm like in awe of it.
41:41I'm glad Mike bought the 05.
41:43He'll do a better job putting that bike together than I will.
41:46I probably would have never done anything with that bike.
41:48What the heck?
41:50What?
41:54Yeah!
41:57That looks good together.
42:00Oh, my God.
42:01How cool that bike looks.
42:03I don't know what's cool.
42:07Yeah.
42:12Oh, my God.
42:13How cool that bike looks.
