00:00:00I ask that you bless the track with speed, you watch over the drivers, crew members, and the fans joining
00:00:03us today.
00:00:04In your heavenly name, we pray. Amen.
00:00:08Celebrating his 101st birthday today, please welcome veteran and Iwo Jima survivor Don Graves as he performs our national anthem.
00:00:24Here it is, the greatest anthem written in the world.
00:00:30Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
00:00:41What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming
00:00:52Whose broad stripes and bright stars
00:00:57Through the perilous fight
00:01:02O'er the ramparts we watched
00:01:07Were so gallantly streaming
00:01:12And the rocket's red glare
00:01:17The bomb bursting in air
00:01:21Gave proof through the night
00:01:26That our flag was still there
00:01:31Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
00:01:44O'er the land of the prey
00:01:49And the hub of the brand
00:02:10To dream the impossible dream
00:02:15To reach the region of the star-spangled banner yet wave
00:02:26What?
00:02:27You think the U.S. is gonna win the World Cup?

00:03:32From Texas Motor Speedway
00:03:34On FS1
00:03:39This place is packed
00:03:40And for good reason
00:03:42They've seen some great races here over the years
00:03:44And they've seen a lot of calamity
00:03:4714 cautions per race average
00:03:49Most of any track in this 7th generation race car
00:03:53Lot of single car spins
00:03:55And a lot of pit road speeding penalties
00:03:57There were 11 of them last year
00:04:00You're right on the edge all the time
00:04:03And that's why the edge of every one of these seats
00:04:06Is going to be packed here today
00:04:07Hi everybody, Mike Joy with Clint Boyer
00:04:09Kevin Harvick
00:04:10To break it all down for you
00:04:12Yesterday we had the fastest pole speed
00:04:15Of any track we've been to all year
00:04:18But here we see a lot of those single car spins
00:04:21And incidents like Bubba Wallace had yesterday
00:04:23So I would say
00:04:24Sit those belts up tight
00:04:26Because it's going to be a bumpy ride
00:04:27It is going to be a bumpy ride
00:04:28And it is rough through turns 3 and 4
00:04:30You run that second groove
00:04:31You better have that car pointed in the right direction
00:04:33Over that bump
00:04:34Because if not, you're going to spin out
00:04:35Well, guess what?
00:04:36The other end is flatter
00:04:37It's smoother
00:04:38And if you don't have the car underneath you
00:04:40It's just going to spin out down there too
00:04:41Because it's just a really, really difficult place
00:04:43To get the balance of the race car right
00:04:45Drivers are on edge
00:04:47Uncomfortable
00:04:47And that makes it fun for us to watch
00:04:49Certainly seeing a lot of chaos here
00:04:51A lot of people having trouble all by themselves
00:04:53And you don't have to look any further
00:04:55Than what we saw with Bubba Wallace yesterday
00:04:57In practice
00:04:57All by himself
00:04:58Car comes out from underneath of him
00:05:00In one and two
00:05:00That baby came out
00:05:02Spun out
00:05:03Hit the wall
00:05:03Back to a backup car for the race
00:05:05And it can happen that fast, folks
00:05:07Especially when you're in
00:05:09Mired in traffic and dirty air, Kevin
00:05:11Yeah, and that's going to be the name of the game today
00:05:13Try to keep that track position
00:05:14But you just don't know when the cautions are going to come out
00:05:16Last year we had a ton of cautions
00:05:18Mixed this strategy up
00:05:19And that makes it really difficult
00:05:20For the crew chiefs to understand
00:05:22What's the right call?
00:05:23Because they don't really know
00:05:24Well, Toyota has half of the top ten in qualifying
00:05:27But Chevrolet shares the front row
00:05:29Chris Buescher in a Ford in row two
00:05:30And Kyle Busch
00:05:32With a new crew chief at RCR
00:05:33Andy Street
00:05:34Has qualified in the sixth position
00:05:37Do either the Chevys or the Fords
00:05:39Have something for those Toyotas today?
00:05:41I was really interested
00:05:42To Christopher Bell's comments earlier
00:05:43That if it came down to a short run
00:05:45He didn't know what they had
00:05:46But he felt good on the long run
00:05:48Yeah, and I think
00:05:49You've got to look at Kyle Larson
00:05:50He's the one that's led laps
00:05:52And been able to get close to the Toyotas
00:05:53So keep an eye on him
00:05:55Well, best national anthem of the year
00:05:57As far as I'm concerned
00:05:59Let's go trackside
00:06:03And now, here to say
00:06:04The most famous words in motorsports
00:06:06Please welcome vocalists and bassists
00:06:08For the thrash metal band Slayer
00:06:10Who will be headlining

00:06:21Start your engines!
00:06:29Got any thrash metal on your playlist?

00:06:34Some Slayer
00:06:35How about that?
00:06:40Carson Josevar and Daniel Suarez
00:06:42In those Chevrolets from Spire
00:06:45Are set to lead them to green here in Texas
00:06:49Shake it up
00:06:52Shake it up
00:06:55Shake it up
00:06:59Shake it up
00:07:00Shake it up
00:07:02Shake it up
00:07:04Welcome back to the Worth 400
00:07:05Presented by LiquiMolly
00:07:08At Texas Motor Speedway
00:07:11Well, it's a beautiful day here in Texas
00:07:14No sign of the hurricane
00:07:15Except right at the front of the field
00:07:19Carson Josevar
00:07:19Last week at Talladega
00:07:22Had the lead on the restart
00:07:23Scored the win
00:07:25And a unique
00:07:27Victory celebration
00:07:29One unlike any other
00:07:31Then he raced the truck race
00:07:33Here Friday night
00:07:35Held off Kyle Busch
00:07:36For the win
00:07:37And all the truck series regulars
00:07:39He won the pole here last year
00:07:41He won the pole here this year
00:07:42Talk about a guy on a roll
00:07:45Let's see if we can get a hold of him
00:07:46How about you Carson
00:07:47Host of Artsboy
00:07:48And the boys up in the Fox booth
00:07:49You got us?
00:07:50Yeah, I got you guys
00:07:52Man, tell me momentum isn't real, huh?
00:07:54Tell me about your week that you had
00:07:56The win Friday night
00:07:57And then obviously you're playing to keep these guys behind you today
00:08:01Yeah, I mean
00:08:02I haven't had a lot of time to really think about Texas
00:08:05But, you know, when I'm laying awake at night
00:08:09That's what I think about racing
00:08:10So, luckily if my guys ever were concerned that I was enjoying too much of the celebration
00:08:17And wasn't going to be focused for Texas
00:08:19Put that to pen really quickly
00:08:21Obviously qualifying on the pole
00:08:22Super proud of that
00:08:23You know, fire front row and everything
00:08:25What a great week
00:08:26Yeah, I just enjoyed every second of it
00:08:29You know, the fact that I could walk out and hear any noise
00:08:32Is a dream come true for me
00:08:34And, you know, just a sport I loved and dreamt about
00:08:38So, the fact that I could have my name attached to it
00:08:40And any sort of given way for some sort of accomplishment
00:08:43On Sunday's, you know, ultimate dream
00:08:45All right, pal
00:08:46Thanks for your time
00:08:47Keep up the good work
00:08:48Looks good on you
00:08:49Thank you
00:08:51So, here's the Worth 400
00:08:52Presented by Liquamali's starting grid
00:08:54Carson Hosovar
00:08:55The 23-year-old from Michigan
00:08:57Got his second Texas pole
00:08:59And his teammate, Daniel Suarez
00:09:01Starts right alongside
00:09:02Here's Josh Sims
00:09:04Well, Daniel Suarez was so close to getting that first pole of the season
00:09:08But, like you mentioned
00:09:08Still qualified up front next to his teammate
00:09:11And we know how tough of a mile and a half that Texas is
00:09:14But, Daniel Suarez numbers here
00:09:16Really good as of late
00:09:17He's got three straight top tens
00:09:19He's finished third two times in his career
00:09:21But, yesterday's practice session didn't go according to plan
00:09:24Culminated with a tire going down towards the end of practice
00:09:27Talked to the team this morning
00:09:29They say they know they have the speed
00:09:30But, they didn't get that car dialed in in terms of the balance
00:09:33They'll have to work on it in-race
00:09:35But, if they get it just right
00:09:36This seventh team is going to be dangerous
00:09:39Row number two racing at his home track
00:09:41Chris Buescher
00:09:42And three-time Texas winner
00:09:44Denny Hamlin
00:09:45Regan
00:09:46Well, Kevin, Denny Hamlin has been the gold standard
00:09:48On the mile and a half racetracks as of late
00:09:50Over the course of the last five races
00:09:52He's had two wins
00:09:53And every race has been a top four result for this number 11 car
00:09:57They bring speed, they bring confidence
00:09:59And everything else that you need into today
00:10:01But, as crew chief Chris Gale told me as good as the 11 was yesterday
00:10:05This is the most unforgiving mile and a half intermediate track that we go to
00:10:09It is going to take perfect execution on all accounts if they're to get that third win
00:10:15Row number three, I give you Chase Briscoe
00:10:17And a four-time winner on his outside, Kyle Busch with that new crew chief
00:10:20A pair of Toyotas in row four, Christopher Bell you met from Oklahoma
00:10:24And Tyler Reddick, the point leader who won here in 22
00:10:27Row five, coming off his best finish of 2026
00:10:30Alex Bowman
00:10:32And first-time winner this year, Ty Gibbs
00:10:34Row number six, keep an eye on him
00:10:36Number five, Kyle Larson won here in 2021
00:10:39And on his outside, Connor Zillich
00:10:40A Ford and a Chevy in row seven
00:10:43Austin Sendrick and Chase Elliott, the 2024 winner
00:10:46Row eight, William Byron won here in 2023
00:10:49And Ross Chastain
00:10:51Jamie
00:10:53Well, Kevin, Ryan Blaney had his worst qualifying effort of the year yesterday
00:10:57Qualified 31st, I talked to his crew chief Jonathan Hassler
00:11:00And he said he had a moment on his qualifying run
00:11:03Had to lift, lost all the momentum
00:11:05So that's why he starts in the back
00:11:07But he also reminded me, last year at this race
00:11:10They started mid-pack and they were able to fight back and finish third
00:11:14Now their only concern today is working his way through traffic
00:11:18Without that car getting too tight
00:11:19But they think if they can do that, they're going to get up front and have a shot at their
00:11:22second win of this season
00:11:24Mike
00:11:24Thanks Jamie
00:11:25Two cars will start at the rear
00:11:27They did not get a chance to qualify
00:11:29Bubba Wallace had that crash in practice that you saw, went to a backup car
00:11:33And Austin Dillon, after just two laps of practice, found an engine problem
00:11:37They have changed engines, so he will start out back
00:11:40Now let's take a closer look at aero blocking with crew chief Larry McReynolds
00:11:45Yeah, Mike, it's been well documented
00:11:47Texas is one of the fastest and most unique mile and a half tracks we go to
00:11:50The two ends are totally different with different bacon at each end
00:11:54But because of the speeds here, aerodynamics can be a challenge
00:11:58Especially if you're behind another car in what we call dirty air
00:12:01Let's go to our Toyota Camry cutaway car
00:12:03Something that goes on here at Texas, air wise
00:12:06Look at the car out front, clean air
00:12:08Full 100% down force on the front end
00:12:11That helps the car to turn
00:12:12The car behind the trail car in dirty air
00:12:15Loses about 30% of its front down force
00:12:17Totally changes the way the car drives
00:12:20Does not want to turn
00:12:21The trail car keeps moving around
00:12:23Trying to get out of the wake of the car
00:12:24He's falling, but that lead car is doing what we call air blocking
00:12:28You see this especially on that back straightaway
00:12:30You can see the front end of the trail car actually raise up and get light
00:12:34Guys, it's called air blocking
00:12:36I call it plane blocking
00:12:37Or mirror driving
00:12:39Yeah, it's amazing how much all this has changed, Clint
00:12:42You used to get blocked, you just drive in the next corner and wreck the guy
00:12:44Now it's just part of the puzzle
00:12:47And really with these cars, an effective tool
00:12:49That we probably just didn't even know about
00:12:51It will be alive and well today, that's for sure
00:12:54Couple of big puffy clouds, but this is a mostly sunny day
00:12:58Here in Fort Worth
00:12:59The temperature at 82 was already 11 degrees warmer than what we practiced and qualified at yesterday
00:13:05Light breeze out of the southwest
00:13:08Yeah, absolute beautiful day and a beautiful crowd
00:13:10Huge turnout for Texas, everything's bigger in Texas
00:13:13The big number on that screen is the 113 degrees down the track temp on the bottom of the screen
00:13:2080, 85 and 102 laps are the three stage lengths here
00:13:24They'll need fuel every 64 to 68 laps
00:13:30400 miles
00:13:32Here are some of the drivers talking about the challenges of Texas Motor Speedway
00:13:40Texas is kind of a beast of its own with a pretty slow one and two and you know you
00:13:44don't lift them much in three and four
00:13:46I feel like you're just always kind of on the edge there
00:13:48Even if you just feel kind of like you're on razor blades
00:13:53It gets kind of bumpy and you get out of control and that's why you see a lot of people
00:13:56spin and crash in three and four
00:13:58How do you get your car to do both things fairly decent is always the trick question
00:14:06Now moments ago there is the Chevy Corvette pace car Cooper flag NBA rookie of the year is driving it
00:14:12and look what happened here
00:14:13This is Denny Hamlin
00:14:16Moving up to the front of the field
00:14:23Moving him up the racetrack
00:14:25Ran him up the racetrack
00:14:27That's funny
00:14:28Oh hold on
00:14:29He's not done
00:14:32I love it
00:14:33Hey watch that we got a camera back there be careful
00:14:35And they always they're always so hard on those pace car drivers and him going up there messing with him
00:14:40is funny
00:14:41When he was a kid
00:14:43Cooper's folks used to take him to New Hampshire Motor Speedway regularly
00:14:46Wow to see NASCAR
00:14:47That's great
00:14:50Here's Bubba Wallace's radio
00:14:53All right
00:14:53Good afternoon from Texas
00:14:55Special thank you to all our teammates here yesterday
00:14:58Who helped prepare this backup car
00:15:00Everyone rallied together without any hesitation on a challenging day
00:15:04Just to work our way forward
00:15:05We got to stay patient, diligent, flexible
00:15:07And we have a great opportunity ahead of us today
00:15:10Let's go make the most of it
00:15:11We need to get this ship righted on this car
00:15:15Since Darlington we went from second in points to 12th
00:15:18Lost 147 points, big time important
00:15:20They stayed till six o'clock working on that car
00:15:23And then Bubba took the whole crew to dinner
00:15:24He said I wrecked the car
00:15:25It was the least I could do
00:15:27Pace car is in
00:15:29And here they come
00:15:30Set to race for 400 miles in Texas
00:15:35Green flag
00:15:45Well these are the most nerve wracking laps around Texas Motor Speedway because of the fact that these cars are
00:15:50so edgy and when they're side by side like this you have no choice but to run in that second
00:15:54lane
00:15:55Down here in three and four over the bump is where it gets really really hairy
00:16:00And Briscoe looking at the inside of Busher already
00:16:03They were three wide for a moment as Busher moves up takes one he may take another spot from teammate
00:16:09Denny Hamlin
00:16:10Briscoe trying for third
00:16:18Kyle Busch was with him all the way to the entrance to the corner then drifted back a couple of
00:16:22car lengths
00:16:23Yeah and Kyle Busch had a great qualifying runners to see Briscoe on the inside of Denny Hamlin right here
00:16:28Ran side by side through turns one and two able to keep that throttle down and get that position on
00:16:34the 11
00:16:36Be an interesting day Clint to see if that eight car can stick around at the front of this pack
00:16:41we
00:16:42Have had all the talk about the crew chief change and everything that that Kyle Busch has going on
00:16:48That's right the new enthusiasm right new crew chief of Andy Street made the change on the eight car already
00:16:53seen some results
00:16:54A new enthusiasm new shot in the arm with a good qualifying effort
00:16:57But to your point can they hold on to this with a good finish eighth ninth tenth reddick Gibbs Bowman
00:17:05It's going to be interesting low air pressure
00:17:07You see a lot of people running right down on the bottom of that racetrack in three and four Kevin
00:17:10as rough as it is up top probably
00:17:13What to expect early?
00:17:15Yeah, and the cars are just not going to drive as good as they did yesterday in practice when you
00:17:18could find all that space all that
00:17:21Real estate to get yourself the cleanest air possible. You don't have that choice
00:17:25Anymore you have to be able to go where they're not on the racetrack to manage those bumps go up
00:17:31the racetrack down the racetrack
00:17:32And it's a lot hotter today than what it was yesterday
00:17:35And you know as well as I do when this racetrack gets hot and especially with these gen seven cars
00:17:39They lose overall grip that front end starts to go first
00:17:43Carson Hosovar took off and instantly opened up a seven tenth of a second lead as we watch for the
00:17:49Ford racing cam on board Chris Buescher
00:17:51Well, that's due in part with that clean air Kevin just talked about it so important to keep that clean
00:17:57air
00:17:57That's why you push hard on saturday to try to get that qualifying effort
00:18:01Not only do you get clean air on the racetrack you get the number one box all day long. Just
00:18:06everything goes easier
00:18:08And really where these cars we're going to start to see who's got the the best handling cars
00:18:12It's going to be lap 15 to 20. That's when you're going to start to see the the swing and
00:18:17handling as to whatever you have
00:18:19And where it's going to migrate to so
00:18:21Right now a lot of clean racetrack no lap traffic
00:18:26Everything's okay for for Hosovar and all these guys up front
00:18:29And that comment is right in line with what Christopher Bell told us in the pre-race show
00:18:33Wait for some laps on these tires and you're starting to separate the men from the boys
00:18:40Christopher Bell seventh the toyota racing cam running right about where he started
00:18:45Yeah, and he was he was pretty confident in his car mike
00:18:48He talked about how comfortable he felt with it on the long run. You see his
00:18:53His teammate Ty Gibbs right there behind him. So a lot of Gibbs cars up there in the front
00:18:57Chase Elliott moving up. He is up two spots
00:19:00From where he started pushing his teammate Kyle Larson back one
00:19:06So move Elliott to 12th
00:19:09Yeah, and Chase Elliott's car look look good yesterday. You see Josh Berry and Corey Haim
00:19:15Joey Logano right here on the front straightaway
00:19:20Josh Berry so dominant in this race last year as
00:19:23As he led so many laps and then made that mistake down there and in turn four and spun that
00:19:28car around
00:19:28That's how easy it is leader of the race spun out and watching that at Corey Haim and and Logano
00:19:33behind him
00:19:34Maglock Logano found speed on that outside and that's where it came in first watching the truck race watching yesterday's
00:19:40O'Reilly race that outside in one and two
00:19:42There's a lot of momentum a lot of passes being made there if you can get to their outside you
00:19:46got them
00:19:48One in line
00:19:50Larry Mack
00:19:51Yeah Mike I'm watching Carson hosts of our watching his data and right now his big advantage at both ends
00:19:58of the racetrack
00:19:58He's just able to carry more speed into the corner
00:20:01Not a big advantage on the exit. He has to play with the throttle but both ends his first eight
00:20:06laps
00:20:06He's just carried more speed on the entrance to the corner
00:20:09And again that falls right in line with exactly what you showed us with that Toyota cutaway car
00:20:14That dirty air. He has all the max downforce 100% air on the front of that race car
00:20:20Maximum grip
00:20:22Hosovar the leader then a three car pack Suarez Briscoe Hamlin then Kyle Busch
00:20:26Kind of alone there in fifth. These are the first laps in the top five that
00:20:31Kyle has run this season on a non drafting track
00:20:34He turned 41 yesterday new crew chief Andy Street had been up on the pit box with crew chief Jim
00:20:40Pullman the last few weeks
00:20:42But RCR leadership decided the results even though Kyle got his first top 10 of the season last week
00:20:47That wasn't what they were looking for and made the change
00:20:50How about Danny Hamlin real quick?
00:20:53On the move with the 11 car. No surprise
00:21:00Carson hosts of our last week's winner this week's pole sitter and he's led every one of the 10 laps

00:24:02Welcome back to the Worth 400 presented by Liqui Valley at Texas Motor Speedway
00:24:0616 laps complete
00:24:08Carson Josevar has led the ball
00:24:10Starting to see a trend here, Kevin
00:24:12Here's your aerial coverage brought to you by Goodyear
00:24:15Tried, tested, proven legendary
00:24:18Yeah, as we as we see Christopher Bell and Ty Gibbs right here
00:24:21We're seeing those Toyotas work their way to the front
00:24:23Carson Josevar starting to fall off
00:24:26You see Daniel Suarez start to drift to the back
00:24:29Or a bit drift backwards
00:24:31He's still up in the top 10
00:24:32But they have run down Josevar and won't be about a matter of time before they go by
00:24:36And a quick rate to all of a sudden
00:24:39What?
00:24:41Well, last year here, Josevar led the first 22 laps from the pole
00:24:46But lost the lead on pit road
00:24:48And never led again in that race
00:24:52Kyle Busch has moved up to fourth
00:24:53Chris Buescher to fifth
00:24:55And Christopher Bell to sixth
00:24:56They were running him down a tenth and a half to two and a half tenths a lap
00:25:00But look, that's how the mirror driving and how you take that air off of them
00:25:05He crossed that wake, Briscoe crossed the wake of that car in front of him
00:25:08The front end took off and that was just a mistake on Briscoe's part
00:25:12I think he ran up on him so fast that he didn't
00:25:14Expect to run up on him as quick as he did
00:25:17And then he had to get he got in that way closer than he wanted instead of timing the pass
00:25:22Up off the corner but look with the result
00:25:24That's exactly the opportunity that Denny Hamlin needed
00:25:27Thank you very much to the lead
00:25:28Here we go
00:25:32Here is Briscoe's radio
00:25:34Gotta be prepared for that
00:25:35I know he left you a lane there but you gotta expect him to come back and close
00:25:39Don't let him saw your nose so hard like that especially late exit
00:25:43That's exactly right
00:25:44That's exactly what Larry McReynolds showed you in that cutaway car
00:25:49It takes all the air off those cars
00:25:51It's like the front tires come off the ground
00:25:53But you have to be ready for it, right Kev?
00:25:55That's just a mistake, right?
00:25:56Like you gotta you gotta make sure that you know that that's I mean you gotta anticipate that's going to
00:26:01happen
00:26:01Can't try to make it all in one chunk and chunk and ultimately it cost him
00:26:06Not too much trust in that guy
00:26:08And Denny Hamlin went by him and cost him the lead
00:26:12So Hamlin to the lead Briscoe now to second
00:26:15Hosts of our drops to third
00:26:16Kyle Busch holding in fourth
00:26:18His crew chief Andy Street allowed us to sit in on their team meeting this morning
00:26:23All right guys
00:26:25Glad we got together today before the race
00:26:27First off I want to say thank y'all for welcoming me back into the program
00:26:31I'm excited about the opportunity
00:26:33All you guys are first class and it's the best race team I've ever worked with
00:26:36Qualifying went exceptionally well
00:26:38Congrats to all you guys, good job
00:26:40That's a testament to all y'all's hard work this week
00:26:44The race is probably the biggest amount of cautions we'll see in a race today
00:26:49All year, so be prepared for two-tire strategy
00:26:51All right guys, let's go have a good day
00:26:53See you everybody
00:26:55Well we certainly appreciate Andy Street letting us sit in on his team meeting this morning
00:26:59Had a conversation with him on the eight car of Kyle Busch as well prior to the race
00:27:03And he said that qualifying effort as good as it was gave him a little bit of heartburn
00:27:07He was worried about getting the delta on where the balance of the car would need to be starting up
00:27:12front
00:27:12Because they haven't done that a lot this year
00:27:14Well so far for Kyle Busch in the eight car that's worked out well
00:27:17Up two positions from where he started sixth
00:27:19Now currently running fourth
00:27:20And he has been silent on the radio guys
00:27:23Good to see the old eight ball up front right now
00:27:26Thanks Regan
00:27:26Two Toyotas leading two Camaros leading Chris Buescher's Ford in the top five
00:27:31A couple of drivers that started deep in the field
00:27:39Have made some strong moves as this field tends to get single filed out
00:27:44Ryan Blaney and Bubba Wallace each up ten
00:27:46Josh Berry up five spots
00:27:48Yeah that Ryan Blaney car is is pretty darn fast Clint
00:27:52Looking at the lap times and as much traffic as he is in
00:27:55He is definitely moving in the right direction
00:27:57Bubba Wallace doing the same thing
00:27:59Yeah and we heard about it I mean he talked about it earlier in the pre-race
00:28:03He just got loose and missed his qualifying lap
00:28:06Only one lap opportunity and if he slips at least a little bit
00:28:09You're mired back in traffic but if anybody can dig away out of a hole
00:28:13We've seen that 12 car do it time and time again
00:28:17Yeah and and really this race is one of those things that one of those
00:28:21It seems to be one of those styles that fits Ryan Blaney with the long run
00:28:25Making your car keep turning and that's what they're good at
00:28:30Denny Hamlin out front he leads all drivers in laps led this season
00:28:35Over 600 of them coming into today's race

00:31:26Whoa, dude
00:31:28I feel like it's the ridiculous acceleration vehicle
00:31:31Yeah!
00:31:33Isn't it the recreational activity vehicle?
00:31:37I guess it could mean anything you want
00:31:39Oh yeah?
00:31:41What else you got?
00:31:42Toyota
00:31:42Let's go places
00:31:46The greatest spectacle in racing is now just weeks away
00:31:50The 110th Indianapolis 500
00:31:52Don't miss the pageantry tradition and excitement of the world's biggest race
00:31:57Sunday
00:31:58May 24th
00:32:00Or Leon Fox
00:32:03Here in Texas, Carson Hosovar led the first 19 laps from the pole
00:32:08Then Danny Hamlin from row number 2
00:32:11Took charge and he's been out in front for the last 14 laps
00:32:15Here is a way early pit stop for Christopher Bell
00:32:23At lap 33, Larry seems like this is way on the edge of that first fuel window
00:32:28Well, no, they're good to go on fuel, Mike
00:32:31The split is lap 40, but I anticipated some would be coming early
00:32:35And that's exactly what Adam Stevens and Christopher Bell did
00:32:38They came about seven laps early
00:32:40Here comes Briscoe, his teammate
00:32:41They're coming and more of them starting to come, Jamie
00:32:44That's right, the 19 was going to stay at a couple more laps
00:32:47But they started seeing the teammates come in
00:32:49So Chase Briscoe is a little bit tight
00:32:51Pretty nervous with the rear's air pressure adjustment here
00:32:55And four tires in the 19 car
00:32:57Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson in the pit lane
00:33:00Along with Connor Zilich, who was running in 16th
00:33:04These early pit stops, easy to make mistakes, Kevin
00:33:07Yeah, and that's the thing that you don't want to do here in Texas
00:33:09Especially during these green flag pit stops
00:33:12You don't want to have a mistake speeding
00:33:13Something that you have to come back to pit road for
00:33:16Riley Herbst, Michael McDowell getting service
00:33:20This is going to draw the 11 in
00:33:22That puts pressure on them
00:33:23Look for him to pit
00:33:24Zach Smith, Chris Buescher
00:33:26Hand out the window on your leader
00:33:28Kyle Busch getting four tires
00:33:31William Byron is in
00:33:32Austin Sendrick
00:33:34And your leader Denny Hamlin
00:33:37Hamlin to the front end of pit road
00:33:39Yeah, as soon as Christopher Bell came to pit road
00:33:42Everybody else didn't want to give up that track position
00:33:44Because they know how difficult it is to pass
00:33:48Regan
00:33:49Well, Kevin, that's exactly what happened in the pit stall here
00:33:52As soon as the 20 car hit pit road
00:33:53Denny Hamlin's team put their helmets on
00:33:55Began to get ready
00:33:56As for the car right now for Denny
00:33:58Just a little bit too free when he got out front
00:34:00Otherwise, it's been good
00:34:02Hats off to Ross Chastain
00:34:04Because he had the stutter coming out of his pit box
00:34:06So not to impede Hamlin
00:34:08Speaking of stutter right there on the 11
00:34:10Almost stalled it coming out
00:34:11Keep an eye on this up here
00:34:13The race is on
00:34:15Joey Logano, Noah Gregson in
00:34:16AJ Allmendinger, Ryan Blaney
00:34:20I think he's going to get him, Kevin
00:34:23It's going to be close as they merge onto the back stretch right here
00:34:26But he's going to go right around him on the outside
00:34:29That's a combination of staying out a little bit later
00:34:32And making a mistake
00:34:33A little bobble exiting the pit box
00:34:35Yeah, and ultimately that stalling the car
00:34:38Not stalling the car, but having those hiccups
00:34:40Getting out of the pit box right there
00:34:42Cost him the lead of the race
00:34:44So, Hosovar back to the lead
00:34:46He is one of 10 cars that have not
00:34:49Yet made this green flag pit stop
00:34:51As Eric Jones comes down the pit lane
00:34:55Hamlin's lead before stops
00:34:561.4 seconds
00:34:59Over the 19
00:35:03And we'll see if Hosovar comes this time
00:35:06The first eight cars and Cody Ware have not yet stopped
00:35:11John Hunter Nemechek in
00:35:13I'm afraid this is going to hurt the 77, Kevin
00:35:15Yeah, I think, you know, I think as they were expecting him to come this time by
00:35:20I think when you stay out that long
00:35:22Sometimes you give up so much lap time that you just lose track position and maybe make up a couple
00:35:27spots with those new tires
00:35:28But we'll see how it works out for him
00:35:30Ty Gibbs pits from second place
00:35:32Chad Finchman he's already gone
00:35:35A lap down
00:35:36Ricky Stenhouse
00:35:38One of the last to pit and now just the first five first six cars have not yet been to
00:35:44pit road
00:35:46Gibbs in and out
00:35:51Cody Ware in
00:35:52And Hosovar continues to circulate at 30.3 seconds
00:35:58The cars with fresh tires are in the low 29
00:36:01That's a lot of time Chase Briscoe ran at 29.46 the last lap
00:36:05So you're giving up seven eight tenths a lap, Clint
00:36:07Eating his lunch and here he comes
00:36:09That's going to hurt them
00:36:11I don't like that strategy
00:36:13Austin Dillon is in
00:36:15And now the pole sitter and last week's winner
00:36:18The 77 of Carson Hosovar
00:36:20Making the long run all the way down to the end of pit road to his box
00:36:29Josh Berry, if he does not stop, will pick up the lead
00:36:32Josh and the plan for Carson Hosovar was to pit around lap 40 or 41
00:36:37He's complaining about grip in the center of the corner
00:36:40It'll be four tires and fuel for the pole sitter
00:36:44Todd Gilliland is in
00:36:45That leaves just Barry, Kozlowski and Custer on the racetrack without having stopped
00:36:54And you see Josh Berry heading to pit road right here
00:36:58Same type of scenario for these guys staying out that long
00:37:02You saw Chase Briscoe
00:37:04He was so far ahead of Carson Hosovar
00:37:07We couldn't even find him on a camera
00:37:09Here's Custer on pit road that will leave just Brad Kozlowski
00:37:18This 19 team you see Denny Hamlin starting to
00:37:21Make a little bit of ground on on Chase Briscoe
00:37:25He definitely has a little bit better car
00:37:26But that track position will be hard to gain
00:37:30When those cars are so even
00:37:31Right now that three car trying to stay on the lead lap
00:37:33As you see Brad
00:37:35Much like we saw earlier in the race though
00:37:37Briscoe followed a three car in the corner
00:37:39Got tight again and enabled Denny to catch him
00:37:41You're going to have to as the leader catches these lappers
00:37:44That'll be opportunities for Denny
00:37:46Well, you got to time it right Clint
00:37:48You got to be able to to get those runs at the right time
00:37:51And sometimes you just have to maintain that that gap on one end of the racetrack or the other
00:37:56Chase just has to get that timing right to get through this lap traffic
00:38:00So Chase Briscoe the clear winner of this pit cycle
00:38:03He emerges with the lead over Denny Hamlin and Christopher Bell
00:38:07Take by the quick stop
00:38:08Grab a couple Rocky tops Denny

00:40:46Different circles, Ross
00:40:47Okay
00:40:49Head for the mountains
00:40:51This is Arby's pulled pork and chopped brisket
00:40:54This is the juicy result of slow-smoking meat for up to 13 hours
00:40:59And this is you forgetting time exists and getting lost in the sauce
00:41:03Arby's, we have the meat
00:41:08Saturday night, baseball night on Fox
00:41:10This week, Jordan Walker looks to keep his breakout season rolling
00:41:13As he leads the cards against Manny Machado and the Padres
00:41:16Or you'll see Mets Diamondbacks
00:41:19Saturday 7, only on Fox
00:41:2250 laps complete in Texas
00:41:24Christopher Bell, the first driver to pit
00:41:27That has taken his Joe Gibbs Toyota to the lead
00:41:33Now, during the break, Chase Briscoe was up front, came up on the 3 of Austin Dillon
00:41:37Well, if you see the 19 car, he's up out of the groove
00:41:40He didn't hook the bottom like Denny is
00:41:42And then enabled the 3 car to run that outside, get momentum
00:41:45And now, wait a minute, that lapper's going right back around him
00:41:48Yeah, and he's fighting for his life to stay on the lead lap
00:41:51And Briscoe tried to block him right there
00:41:54But I think that the thing that I've noticed is Christopher Bell has found a lane that everybody
00:41:58Can't really run up the racetrack and he's making some hay
00:42:03Makes the pass on the bottom
00:42:05Briscoe chooses wrong right there
00:42:07Gets in the same lane as the 3 car
00:42:09Bell goes by him, but Bell can go in the bottom
00:42:12He can go in the top, he's got a very versatile car right now
00:42:15Jamie?
00:42:16Yeah, just to update the 19, been listening to him
00:42:18They were really happy with the balance overall yesterday
00:42:20But so far today, they're fast, but that air is messing with them
00:42:24Right after that moment you guys just showed
00:42:26He came on the radio and said, I am just wrecking loose all of a sudden
00:42:30Not sure what happened
00:42:32And obviously guys, I can report from down here
00:42:34The wind is certainly picking up and that's always an issue
00:42:37It certainly is, Jamie
00:42:39And where is that wind blowing? Right down the back straightaway
00:42:41Making you looser into turn 3
00:42:46Yeah, it always seems like the wind blows in the same direction here
00:42:50Down that back straightaway, but when it starts to whip it
00:42:53It definitely makes a difference in how that car handles
00:42:57This track has not been kind to Christopher Bell
00:42:59So, he's led more laps today
00:43:04Seven
00:43:06Than in his total Texas career
00:43:09He'd led only six total
00:43:11But I heard, you know, when Kevin was just telling me he said the word versatile
00:43:15And that's a dirt racer
00:43:18Find the way around them
00:43:19Find the clean air
00:43:20And that's a versatile dirt racer
00:43:24And that's the part that keeps you getting hung up in traffic here
00:43:27And you know, the thing about Christopher Bell right now
00:43:30And we kind of talked about what he needs to do
00:43:32He's kind of been inconsistent
00:43:34They've had some bad luck
00:43:36They've, you know, through the years kind of taken the days that
00:43:40Probably thought that they should win or run in a certain position and then have a mistake
00:43:45You can't do that in this point system
00:43:46I think they have a car fast enough to be able to
00:43:48To race for the championship and do exactly what he's doing today
00:43:51As we watched Denny Hamlin
00:43:54Go under the 19 car of Chase Briscoe
00:43:58And take his effort at trying to
00:44:00Get himself by the three car
00:44:02That three car has been a
00:44:05He's had a tough pass
00:44:06He's been a tough pass as both these guys have kind of taken a swing at it
00:44:10Not been able to really make it happen easily
00:44:12Briscoe's car just has it taken off on this new set of tires
00:44:16He said in the radio very loose
00:44:19Holding on to that car, the 19
00:44:22Behind him, Kyle Busch holding in fourth
00:44:25After a good stop and Chris Buescher fifth
00:44:28And you see pole sitter Hosibar
00:44:30Right at the bottom of our screen right there
00:44:32Kyle Busch is actually driven
00:44:33Almost to the back bumper of that 19 car of Chase Briscoe
00:44:40Now our pole sitter Hosibar
00:44:42Came out of the pit stop cycle in seventh
00:44:45But the driver who shared the front row with him
00:44:48Not quite as lucky, Josh
00:44:49Yeah, we talked off the top of the race about Daniel Suarez
00:44:52And how they knew they had some speed after practice
00:44:55But they were struggling with the handling, but the speed is not there either
00:44:58Suarez coming over the radio complaining about that car
00:45:01And then recently came over complaining about a vibration in that seventh car
00:45:06The team said we're going to have to ride it out, but let us know if it gets worse
00:45:09Jamie?
00:45:10Well, one man who is on a mission going in the right direction is the 12 of Ryan Blaney
00:45:14Up to 13th already
00:45:16That's 18 spots better than where he started today
00:45:19It was interesting talking to his crew chief Jonathan Hassler this morning
00:45:22You know, he reminded me Penske Racing has struggled on mile and a half tracks
00:45:26He said, however, a few weeks ago
00:45:29We got to be part of the test at Chicagoland Speedway
00:45:32That's another mile and a half
00:45:33He said we actually learned something
00:45:35We were able to apply to our setup today
00:45:37So they weren't too concerned about it
00:45:40They just didn't want to get too tight so that his car can move forward
00:45:43And that's exactly what they're doing
00:45:44He started 31st, Blaney running in 13th
00:45:48After the first round of pit stops here
00:45:50Bottom of your screen, Corey Heim 19th
00:45:53Daniel Suarez 20th
00:45:55We still have 31 cars on the lead lap
00:45:58Back to Shane Van Gisbergen
00:45:59After 59 of 80 laps in Stage 1
00:46:03Christopher Bell out front in Texas
00:46:08I'll take one left
00:46:11Good day, sir
00:46:12Oh, wait
00:46:14You like Dr. Pepper's Zero Sugar?
00:46:16Yes
00:46:17Okay
00:46:19Okay
00:46:23We go!
00:46:24We go!
00:46:32We go!
00:46:33We go!
00:46:34We go!
00:46:35We go!
00:46:37We go!
00:46:38We go!
00:46:39That's a pepper thing!
00:46:41To tell you the truth
00:46:44We could take or leave the extravagance
00:46:47The attention
00:46:48The celebrity
00:46:49The bragging rights
00:46:51The bravado
00:46:52Because all we've ever really wanted
00:46:54Is for every Ford driver to feel this
00:46:58Yeah
00:47:01I don't care
00:47:02Over there
00:47:11All the places
00:47:12The place you call home is important to you
00:47:15So it's important to Allstate

00:48:12The engines roar, the crowd screams, and the day is set to perfect.
00:48:19A celebration of life, liberty, and the pursuit of speed.
00:48:25Lucky to do this. Thanks to all the people that sacrificed for it.
00:48:28That's why we stand with pride and reverence
00:48:31to celebrate the men and women whose sacrifice and commitment
00:48:35makes our pursuit possible.
00:48:37Together with Coca-Cola, NASCAR salutes.
00:48:41Here's what we'll say about the road to greatness.
00:48:45The name Ford is synonymous with desert racing.
00:48:49You've got to keep pushing. The desert's not going to let up.
00:48:52It sure isn't paved.
00:48:54It's a challenge just to finish.
00:49:1315 laps to go in Stage 1 at Texas.
00:49:16Christopher Bell leading.
00:49:18He has three top fives here in seven Texas starts.
00:49:22Regan?
00:49:23Well, Mike, things going very well for the 20
00:49:25as we see a potential pass for the lead here
00:49:28as Denny tries to get to the outside of his teammate.
00:49:30A little contact on the backstretch as well.
00:49:32Talking to those guys, though, before the race,
00:49:34I asked him about some of the struggles that they've had
00:49:36as it's going to get really dicey off at Turn 4 right now
00:49:40as Denny Tamlin takes the lead from his teammate.
00:49:43But the struggles that they have had with that 20 car to give results,
00:49:46they said, we don't carry that baggage from us week to week.
00:49:48We leave that in the rearview mirror.
00:49:51Well, they're mired in traffic.
00:49:53Got a lot of lappers right in front of them.
00:49:55It's forcing their hand to run.
00:49:56Kind of unorthodox running on the bottom, Kevin.
00:49:59And we saw that all weekend long,
00:50:01whether it be the truck race or the O'Reilly race yesterday.
00:50:05Makes it hard to pass.
00:50:06Yeah, and you see the reverse.
00:50:08Yeah.
00:50:09It's reversed right there as the six.
00:50:11Oh!
00:50:11Oh, no!
00:50:12Hey, Clint Bell.
00:50:13Bell's around.
00:50:14Bell in the wall.
00:50:16Bell on the front straightaway after contact back in turn number four.
00:50:20And at lap 69, we have the first caution of the day to Todd Gilliland,
00:50:26who went spinning.
00:50:28And Christopher Bell with a pretty solid impact.
00:50:31Yeah, he's in big trouble for the rest of the day.
00:50:33And we were just talking about the bad luck that Christopher Bell has had here.
00:50:38And just the car spinning just barely clipped him right there.
00:50:41Turned him around.
00:50:43Yeah, he's done.
00:50:47You want to talk about bad luck.
00:50:50Right in his lap.
00:50:54A lot of cars trying to stay on the lead lap as we get close to the end of the
00:50:58stage.
00:51:01And that tire whirling around the right front is not going to do any good
00:51:05as Bell tries to get it to Pitt Road.
00:51:08And that's really just kind of the way that his whole season has gone so far.
00:51:12Think back to Kansas, you know, being in position to win that race.
00:51:15Yep.
00:51:16Off of turn two, coming back to the checkered flag, crashing,
00:51:18got a terrible finish.
00:51:20Same thing last week.
00:51:21Four of the last five races, Bell has finished outside the top 15.
00:51:26Well, let's watch it again.
00:51:27You see the car get sideways up on the high lane.
00:51:31Tries to get in the gas and does.
00:51:32To keep it out of the wall, brings it down.
00:51:34It just barely clips Bell.
00:51:36Turns him right head on into the wall.
00:51:38And Bell is in just such an awkward spot right there.
00:51:41He's got Denny Hamlin below him.
00:51:43Racing for the lead.
00:51:44You see him coming down the racetrack,
00:51:46but you can only turn it so hard down the racetrack before it'll just spin out.
00:51:57Let's watch from the number 20.
00:52:04Boy, what's this guy?
00:52:07Golly, hold on there.
00:52:11Ah, so frustrating.
00:52:13Happens quick.
00:52:22Got back in the gas.
00:52:24They're trying to beat him just barely.
00:52:28So close.
00:52:33Wow.
00:52:34Both ends.
00:52:36Pretty well beat up.
00:52:39And he's already ninth in the points.
00:52:41So wrecking before stage one right here.
00:52:44Devastating point-wise.
00:52:46Larry, we're going to have ten laps to go when pit road opens.
00:52:50What are we going to see?
00:52:50Yeah, we've been well over 20 laps since those pit stops.
00:52:54I think you're going to see most of them take four.
00:52:56But remember, we're going to go back racing
00:52:57with about seven or eight laps to go on the stage.
00:52:59Don't be surprised to see somebody roll the dice
00:53:02and maybe try just two here.
00:53:08All right.
00:53:08Here come most all the lead lap cars to pit road
00:53:11with ten to go in the stage.
00:53:13Jamie?
00:53:14And Chase Grisco, the 19, comes in from second,
00:53:16led his first laps ever at Texas earlier,
00:53:19led four laps there.
00:53:21He pulls it to a stop in his box,
00:53:23very loose earlier as we reported.
00:53:25He said the bumps have really been affecting him as well.
00:53:28Air pressure, bring it.
00:53:31Kyle Busch just a little bit too tight this run.
00:53:33Found Leakey damage to the right front some.
00:53:35An adjustment for that.
00:53:36And Denny Hamlin, a little tight at max load.
00:53:37Josh?
00:53:38For Chris Buscher, he's been on both sides.
00:53:40Too tight, too loose, too tight this last run.
00:53:43Four cars of fuel here.
00:53:46There is the race off pit road.
00:53:48Five cars stayed out,
00:53:50led by Eric Jones and Ricky Stenhouse.
00:53:54Todd Gilliland goes spinning
00:53:57and collects race leader Christopher Bell.
00:54:06Next week, NASCAR heads to the rolling hills of western New York
00:54:11for his second road course of the season at Watkins Glen.
00:54:15ARCA kicks off the action on Friday at 1.30 p.m. Eastern on FS2,
00:54:19followed by the Truck Series,
00:54:21racing at 4.30 p.m. Eastern on FS1.
00:54:23Then, the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series races on Saturday
00:54:26at 4 p.m. Eastern on the CW.
00:54:28And to finish the weekend strong,
00:54:30the Cup Series races on Sunday at 3 p.m. Eastern on FS1.
00:54:36Dress warm, but come join us
00:54:38in the Finger Lakes region of New York State
00:54:40at Watkins Glen.
00:54:42New track limits will be imposed on a couple of corners.
00:54:46Going to be a fun race.
00:54:47All right, the first five drivers on your pylon there
00:54:50stayed out and did not stop.
00:54:53Josevar and Preece in 6th and 7th
00:54:55took two tires each.
00:54:58All those drivers looking for stage points
00:55:00just eight laps from now.
00:55:01Yeah, and these are the types of situations
00:55:03where your car gets torn up
00:55:04because you have the variance in speed
00:55:07from the guys that are at the front of the pack,
00:55:09the guys on the tire strategy,
00:55:10all the four-tire cars back in the middle.
00:55:13But look, there's points on the line here
00:55:15in a short amount of time at the end of this stage.
00:55:17So good opportunity for some of these guys
00:55:20to grab some unexpected points in this in stage one here.
00:55:23And nothing but the Corvette pace car
00:55:25in front of the Advent Health Cam of Eric Jones,
00:55:28who is our leader.
00:55:30Now, Ryan Blaney, pit road.
00:55:32What happened?
00:55:34Well, the wheels fell off the bus,
00:55:36but I think this time
00:55:38might take a little blame.
00:55:39Let's listen.
00:55:41Yeah, I'm good there.
00:55:42I got a problem.
00:55:43I thought I did, but sorry.
00:55:45I screwed that up.
00:55:47I'm an idiot.
00:55:48Shake it off.
00:55:49I'll early here.
00:55:50Hold up.
00:55:51What are we about?
00:56:02Been there before.
00:56:04Stalled it, Kev.
00:56:05Oh, twice.
00:56:09Three times.
00:56:16It almost sounds like he's got it in the wrong gear.
00:56:19Second gear.
00:56:19That's what I was thinking.
00:56:20He kept lugging on the restart.
00:56:22Jamie?
00:56:23You guys nailed it right there.
00:56:25Just talked to the team,
00:56:26and they said he got it stuck in gear
00:56:27trying to exit the box.
00:56:29So that was the problem.
00:56:30He took it hard on himself, guys,
00:56:31but we've seen him come through the field once today.
00:56:33We're going to have to see him do it again
00:56:34as he'll restart 27.
00:56:36Well, I'm almost glad to see that
00:56:38because the pit crew changes that have been made
00:56:41had been very positive these last two weeks
00:56:44as Coach Gibbs has a word with Christopher Bell.
00:56:47Out of race after being collected in Todd Gilliland's spin.
00:56:52Gilliland racing as hard as he could
00:56:54was trying to keep from going a lap down.
00:56:55Yeah, really hard to run that high up on the racetrack
00:56:58with where that bump is off of turn four.
00:56:59Speaking of racing as hard as you could,
00:57:01watch these old tires, two tires.
00:57:03This is going to get wild at the stage end.
00:57:05It'll be six laps to the end of the stage
00:57:07as the green flag waves.
00:57:16Eric Jones, Ricky Stenhouse in front
00:57:19of Chastain and Allmendinger.
00:57:22Four wide, Brisco way out on the outside.
00:57:24Niemicek fading.
00:57:25That's why they get four wide.
00:57:26Oh, yeah, it's so hard on those old tires.
00:57:29Once you get shoved in the middle of the pack like that,
00:57:32just the front end does not want to turn
00:57:34as we see a battle for the lead right here.
00:57:37See that car on the outside?
00:57:38Stenhouse hit that bump with the wrong angle.
00:57:41Goes way up the racetrack, and Eric Jones drives off.
00:57:44And here comes Josavar on the inside of Allmendinger for third.
00:57:48Wow, it gets too close down there.
00:57:50You see when that one car moved down and took the weight,
00:57:53took the air off those cars, they all scattered.
00:57:55Made him really tight behind him.
00:58:00Josavar, just two tires,
00:58:01but it hasn't seemed to slow his march back toward the front.
00:58:05Everybody coming on new tires now.
00:58:07Yeah, and you see Denny Hamlin stuck right there
00:58:09behind the 60 car of Ryan Priest.
00:58:10He's lost a whole bunch of ground to Chase Brisco.
00:58:14Ty Gibbs has gone by him,
00:58:16so his lane has not been favorable to him
00:58:19on this last restart.
00:58:21And that's holding up Chase Elliott and everybody behind him.
00:58:25Trying to make some steam in that top lane.
00:58:27Three and a half to go.
00:58:28Stage one.
00:58:29And right now, Denny Hamlin in the 11 with the last stage point.
00:58:34Yeah, and he is definitely still losing spots right there.
00:58:37As you see, Chase Elliott make it three wide on him.
00:58:39Austin Sendrick now on the bottom three wide,
00:58:42so Denny Hamlin struggling on this restart.
00:58:47Sendrick to the inside, three wide into the corner.
00:58:51Top lane gives.
00:58:55Yeah, just not working out for Ryan Priest
00:58:57with the strategy that they had on this restart.
00:59:00Not able to keep himself in the top ten.
00:59:04He's faded to 15th.
00:59:06Look at this.
00:59:08Briscoe.
00:59:08Woo, that was close.
00:59:09Getting into three.
00:59:11Chastain was trying to block them all.
00:59:12He was blocked high, blocked low.
00:59:14Oh, contact.
00:59:17Chastain and Kyle Busch got together.
00:59:19Yeah, the cars are so edgy right there through that tri-oval.
00:59:23William Byron just into the back bumper
00:59:25in the wrong spot of the eight car,
00:59:26trying to help push him by.
00:59:28And the nine of Chase Elliott now in the final point position.
00:59:36Coming to one to go.
00:59:37They're going to be three wide.
00:59:38It's going to be a Hendrick Sandwich of the one car.
00:59:41Gosh.
00:59:42Wow.
00:59:44Got to be so careful with those cars when they get that close.
00:59:47That inside car, sometimes it'll just pull them into the door
00:59:50of the outside car.
00:59:51But they got away with it right there, Mike.
00:59:54Chastain now in the tenth and final point position.
00:59:59He and Hamlin are going to battle for it
01:00:02as they come around turn number four.
01:00:04And Eric Jones will get his first-ever stage win
01:00:09in the Cup Series.
01:00:12Hosevark for second.
01:00:15Stenhouse gives Briscoe the first five.
01:00:17Bush, Allmendinger, Elliott, Byron, and Denny Hamlin
01:00:21score stage points.
01:00:25Stage one complete with that Jones boy
01:00:29out in front of the field.
01:00:36I would go outside the motorhome
01:00:38because I always like to hear the crowd reaction.
01:00:41That is a crowd reaction I haven't heard since,
01:00:45well, I haven't heard it in a long time.
01:00:47But when Dale Jr. would be in an Xfinity race
01:00:49or a Bush Series race, and I was there watching,
01:00:52the crowd reaction for Cletus McFarlane
01:00:55was unbelievable this weekend.

01:01:1482 laps, stage one complete,
01:01:16waiting for Pit Road to open.
01:01:18Jamie?
01:01:18Christopher Bell has been checked and released.
01:01:20Wrong place at the wrong time.
01:01:22Leading this race, and you got collected.
01:01:24Another bad luck race here.
01:01:26How do you describe just the disappointment?
01:01:29Yeah, I mean, it's a bummer, but I'm just,
01:01:31I'm so thankful.
01:01:32I'm thankful that I get to drive really fast race cars.
01:01:35I'm thankful that I got the lead laps today.
01:01:36I'm thankful that I get to carry the ream colors.
01:01:38I drive for Joe Gibbs Racing.
01:01:41And, yeah, we,
01:01:45that was a couple feet.
01:01:47A couple feet away from having a great day.
01:01:50But, yeah, it's going to turn around at some point.
01:01:54We'll see you at Watkins then.
01:01:55Mike?
01:01:57Thanks, Jamie.
01:01:58Tough break for one of the fastest cars here.
01:02:00It's so tough when you get in those streaks,
01:02:02and I'll have all those things happen,
01:02:04and just to keep your confidence up.
01:02:05So, hate it for Christopher Bell.
01:02:07Speaking of confidence, look at this guy right here.
01:02:10Bush has more laps running the top five today
01:02:12than the last 11 mile-and-a-half races combined.
01:02:15Got him some stage points.
01:02:16It's been cleared back to Atlanta,
01:02:18our second race since he's had stage points.
01:02:21Well, that was a great call from a lot of angles.
01:02:2443 of Eric Jones stayed out from 18th.
01:02:28Ricky Stenhouse from 22nd.
01:02:29Allmendinger from 25th all got some stage points.
01:02:32So, they were having a mediocre day at best,
01:02:35and why not just take a chance
01:02:37and stack some stage points on right now?
01:02:39Obviously, they're going to lose track position right here,
01:02:41but at least you've got something to show for it.
01:02:44There's your Celsius on board with A.J. Allmendinger,
01:02:46who will pit from 7th position.
