00:24ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
00:45Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Race Notebook
00:48from the 2026 Miami Grand Prix here in the Hard Rock Stadium
00:53in Miami, just outside Miami, Florida, USA.
00:56Now, the first three races of the season were in Australia, Japan, and China,
01:02and they were in the early hours of the morning UK time,
01:04and I did this ridiculous thing on the notebook, a bit of a disclaimer.
01:07If you weren't able to join us at 3 o'clock in the morning or whatever it was,
01:11then don't watch now because I'm about to tell you,
01:13and you want to watch the repeat, then don't watch now
01:15because I'm about to tell you what happened.
01:17I never thought I'd have to say that when I got to Miami
01:20because obviously it's a tea-time evening race.
01:21But all throughout the weekend, dear viewer,
01:24we've been telling you that the Grand Prix is about to start, well,
01:2913 minutes ago at 4 p.m. Miami time, 9 p.m. 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.
01:35Yes, 9 p.m. in the UK.
01:37And we told you that so many times this weekend.
01:39I had a sort of idea that some of you might have thought,
01:41oh, that nice man, Simon Lazenby off the television and David Croft,
01:45they told me that the race was going to start at 9 p.m.
01:48I'll turn on at 9 p.m., I'll have my tea, and then I'll turn on at 9 p.m.
01:51Maybe a nice roast, maybe some leftovers, maybe some pasta, something like that.
01:55Well, that's not exactly what happened.
01:59Up the villa.
02:00Hello.
02:00Hello, up the villa.
02:02It is Aston Villa, isn't it?
02:04Is it not?
02:05Who are they?
02:07Man United.
02:08What?
02:08Man United.
02:09Oh, it's Man United, is it?
02:10Oh, right.
02:11Are you weak today, man?
02:13Up the United.
02:14Sorry.
02:16I'll stick to the F1.
02:17So, what happened was that they changed the race time, dear viewer.
02:25I know.
02:25But it was the right decision, because there is rain coming in,
02:28although had the race started now, 14 minutes into it, it would have still been dry.
02:32But apparently, there's loads of rain coming in.
02:35And so they brought it forwards by three hours, which means that we've already had it.
02:39So, if you tuned in expecting to see the race, because we told you that,
02:42and we're honest, about 13 minutes ago, then don't watch now, because I'm about to tell
02:47you what happened.
02:48Right.
02:49Should we go, Simon, to Mercedes?
02:50And Mercedes won.
02:51Don't hit that guy from Ferrari.
02:53And Mercedes won again.
02:55But this time, and it was Kimi Antonelli again.
02:58But this time, it was not easy.
03:00This was the hardest of the three wins he's had in a row.
03:03I'm sorry.
03:04I don't know why.
03:04I think it was something to do with the purple colors.
03:06I thought it was the villa.
03:06I know they're the red devils.
03:07I know they're the red devils.
03:08I'm sorry.
03:09It was a stupid mistake.
03:10I know.
03:11I know that Kobe plays for, you know, I'm sorry.
03:14I'm sorry.
03:15I'm sorry.
03:15I know.
03:16No, I'm sorry.
03:16You won today.
03:16I'm sorry.
03:17Stupid mistake.
03:18My head is still in River Plate at the Monumental in Argentina.
03:23So Kimi Antonelli won again, his third in a row.
03:26And it was the most difficult and somehow also the most convincing.
03:31Under pressure, with gremlins in the car, losing the lead at the start, having to fight,
03:35having to do brilliant outlaps, having to get the car really out of him, with other people
03:39on the surge, with McLaren on the surge, with upgrades, with Ferrari with upgrades, with
03:44Red Bull Racing, with Max Verstappen, potentially able to take advantage of changeable conditions.
03:48It was tough.
03:50And it didn't start well for Kimi Antonelli as well.
03:54So we are just gathering for the feast that will be the photo.
04:00Now, I'm not going to hang around the photo because we're in the bowl, which is great.
04:05I don't have to do what I did the last three times, which was just constantly stay in the
04:09pit lane, pinned in by massive forklift trucks, and tell you, Phil, while we wait for Kimi
04:15Antonelli.
04:15But while you have a look at his family, on the left there, Simon, on the left, yep,
04:18Dad, Marco, and Mum, and Vicky Piria, on the left-hand side for my colleagues from Sky
04:22Italy, it has been a great day for Italian motorsport.
04:26Three in a row, from the first three poles in a row to first three wins in a row, hasn't
04:31been done by Ensenna, hasn't been done by Michael Schumacher.
04:34So Kimi has set somewhat of a record, and on a very sad weekend for Italian motorsport,
04:39and in fact, motorsport in general, of course, the weekend that we lost Alessandro Zanardi.
04:44But we'll talk a bit about that later.
04:46But let's tell you what happened, and the story of the race from, well, I'll tell you
04:51what, while we, no, I suppose we will do Mercedes first, and then we'll just come back for the
04:57photo.
04:57So Kimi Antonelli won the Grand Prix, George Russell was fourth.
05:00It was an OK start from Kimi Antonelli, but he was swallowed up by Charles Leclerc, and
05:04then Max was challenging as well.
05:06So he kept P2, but Russell, George Russell was up one to P4.
05:11Piastri eventually got Russell.
05:13And then Kimi, his tyres got hot, and he had to cool them in the dirty air.
05:19And so Lando eventually got past.
05:22And then Lando Norris led the race until the first pit stops.
05:26Then what happened, Kimi Antonelli pitted on lap 27, now important lap, because 22 to 26
05:33was the lap that people thought they were going to pit, because that gives maximum, you
05:37know, best time on the medium tyre, and then best time on the hard tyre to the end.
05:41But the weather was coming, and they didn't want to waste a pit stop pitting for the hard,
05:46dry tyre, when potentially a rain shower mean you have to come in for intermediates, or even
05:51full wets.
05:52So they were waiting and waiting and waiting.
05:54So Mercedes thought that they'd wait until lap 27, one or two laps longer than maybe
05:59the prime time was for the pit stop changey-changey.
06:04And then they came in, and that was absolutely crucial, because it caught McLaren napping.
06:09Well, did it caught McLaren napping?
06:10Were McLaren being too conservative?
06:12Were McLaren caught weather watching?
06:14The answer was yes, because Kimi Antonelli came in, good pit stop for Mercedes, and Kimi absolutely
06:21nailed the outlap, and emerged alongside, and then passed Lando Norris once Lando had done
06:28his stop.
06:28So McLaren waited another lap, but it was too late by then.
06:32And a few tenths of a second longer in the pit stop for McLaren, for Lando Norris, meant
06:37that that was it.
06:38Up in smoke was the Lando win, and from then, Kimi didn't look back.
06:44Well, I say didn't look back.
06:46He had to battle with overheating tyres, and he had to battle with what I'm probably going
06:51to call paddle gates, but I don't think anybody else is going to be calling paddle gates.
06:56Now, the team are calling it a steering wheel connectivity issue.
07:00Essentially, the best way to describe it is that, you know when you plug your iPhone in,
07:05and if you've had your iPhone for a long time, and that sort of slot that you plug a thing
07:09into is a bit sort of worn, and after you've, you know, and maybe you've dropped it once
07:13or twice, and it doesn't really connect, and you don't get the little green thing at the
07:17top, and you think, oh no, I'm going to have to buy another phone.
07:20This is really annoying.
07:21Same thing with his steering wheel.
07:23So the steering wheel, there was some little connection that wasn't quite tight on the
07:27steering wheel.
07:27It wasn't about to come off or anything, but when he pulled the paddle for a gear shift,
07:31there was a little bit of a delay, and then suddenly, if you imagine, you're going
07:34around 200 miles an hour, you're thinking, what's going on here?
07:37I've got a paddle problem.
07:38A problem with the gearbox, is it?
07:40It's not shifting.
07:40I've got a problem with the paddle, and it was just a little bit of hardware problem.
07:45The connection between the steering wheel and the, you know, the 12-pin connector, or
07:52whatever it is, that goes from the steering wheel to the steering column, and then from
07:56the steering column to the brains of the car and everywhere else.
07:59So that was what Paddlegate was all about, and that was one of the things that Kimi Annadinelli
08:03was having to deal with today.
08:05Lando Norris was on the charge, couldn't get past him.
08:08Kimi kept his head, kept his tyres cool, and then actually pulled away from the McLaren
08:12towards the end.
08:13Not so great for George Russell.
08:15He raced Oscar Piastri, but got passed by him, managed to overtake Charles Leclerc, but
08:23then more or less a lot of people did towards the end, and finished 15 seconds behind Kimi
08:29Antonelli, and is now 20 points behind his young Italian teammate, and described the handling
08:38of his car as, quote, awful.
08:41It was awful.
08:42He's gone to see the stewards, but we will see what happens with that.
08:47Right, Simon, it doesn't look like, even though some team members are assembling, that we're
08:54too long away.
08:55Do we go over to McLaren and tell you what happened with McLaren today, or do I just do
09:00it here?
09:01Well, what do you want to do?
09:02You've got a nice spot here, next to a photographer, and which lens are we switching to here?
09:13A wide one so that I can get the whole team.
09:15All right.
09:16Have you got a wide lens on?
09:17Is that a wide lens?
09:18I can't tell.
09:19Is that a wide lens or not?
09:20It is.
09:21Okay.
09:21Oh, they are assembling.
09:23Right.
09:23Okay.
09:23All right.
09:23Well, listen, we'll stay here.
09:24You're next to the snappers here.
09:27Arvid Lindblad seems to have walked into the wrong photo, but he's just disappearing.
09:34I think a lot of people are going to be walking away.
09:37Oh, Adam is announcing this is the point at which point we get sort of kettled here a bit.
09:42So, Simon, you move that way.
09:44Yeah, you move that way a bit here.
09:46That's right.
09:47And then back a bit.
09:48And that will be you there.
09:50There are the trophies.
09:52And I'm just going to go to the side somewhere.
09:54So, I'll get out of your way and you just do lots of shots of trophies or stuff like that.
09:59Right.
09:59I'll tell you what happened to McLaren.
10:01Landon Norris was second and Oscar Piastri third.
10:03Could they have won this race?
10:04Yes.
10:05Should they?
10:06Potentially.
10:07Were they not?
10:09Were they where they're watching?
10:10Yes, I think they were.
10:11Did they have a faster car than Mercedes?
10:13No, they didn't.
10:14Mercedes had a faster car today.
10:16So, maybe with a bit more sort of cutthroat smarts, had McLaren taken the advantage, grasped the nettle,
10:22and actually said, look, we're going to try it.
10:24We're going to pit before Kimi Antonelli.
10:27They might have been able to hang on with track position, given how important it is to have clean air
10:32at the front.
10:33And maybe they could have hung on.
10:34But they would have won McLaren with a slower car.
10:37And that's not often that happens in F1, especially this year.
10:41But they might have given it a go.
10:42Lando certainly thinks it's a race they could have won.
10:45But, hey, when you consider where McLaren have come from.
10:48I mean, there was one race that neither McLaren started this year.
10:51Remember that?
10:52It's China.
10:53And so, you know, when you consider where they came from, a 1-2 in the sprint race and then
10:59a 2-3 in the Grand Prix,
11:00they will take that every day of the week with extra sausages.
11:05So, yeah, they'll have a bit of that.
11:09Good start for Lando Norris.
11:10Up 1 to P3.
11:11Oscar Piastri up 2 to P5.
11:13It's a great start for him.
11:14Lando got Kimi Antonelli by, we don't think, using the boost.
11:17But he might have done a little bit of boost.
11:19McLaren don't like to use that boost button much, do they?
11:21But they'll use it when they have to.
11:22Lando took Charles Leclerc on lap 13 for the lead.
11:26I've got to say Charles Leclerc was in the lead.
11:28Sorry, yes.
11:28No, I did say that earlier.
11:29Lando built the gap to Kimi Antonelli, kept his tyres in a good place.
11:33Lando stopped on the lap 28, not 27.
11:37Then Kimi came in, lap 28, one lap too late.
11:40Lost the lead, got undercut by Kimi Antonelli.
11:43Lost the lead.
11:44He looked after his tyres thereafter, but Kimi had him covered.
11:47Oscar Piastri, good race from him.
11:49He chased down Charles Leclerc and got him eventually,
11:52even though Leclerc is having his own issues.
11:54And that completes the McLaren turnaround weekend.
11:58I think it's fair to say.
12:01Mercedes upgrades come next in Canada in about two and a half, three weeks' time.
12:09So that's what Mercedes will be looking forward to.
12:12But given that they've maintained their record of winning all the Grand Prix so far,
12:15but they have McLaren straight right behind,
12:19maybe you can reflect that they do need an upgrade or two.
12:22They didn't need it here today.
12:24Right, let's do Ferrari because they seem to have been overtaken by McLaren.
12:27Early promise in the season from Ferrari has not kept them keeping their P2 spot in the competitive order.
12:35And they'll be wondering what happened, given that they had 11, yes, count them, 11 upgrades this weekend.
12:40So it was a bit of a torrid day, really, for them.
12:43Lewis Hamilton, seventh, but with a heavily damaged car.
12:46Charles Leclerc, sixth.
12:47Usual great start.
12:48Leclerc sprinted into the lead and pulled away from Kimi Antonelli,
12:51but then got taken by Lando Norris and Kimi Antonelli as his tyres, because his tyres were going off.
12:57He pitted.
12:58He had a little bit of a slow stop, a 3.2 rather than a two-seconder.
13:02Lost the place to George Russell.
13:04That was where it started to go south for Charles Leclerc and Ferrari.
13:09Then got done by Oscar Piastri.
13:11Then spun.
13:11He said it was his mistake.
13:13Damaged the car.
13:14Carried on.
13:14He's under investigation with the stewards of carrying on with the damaged car,
13:17but he'll say, well, look, what could I do?
13:18I had to finish the race.
13:20And then that was it.
13:21Finished P6.
13:22But he might have P5 off Max Verstappen if and when Max Verstappen gets a five-second penalty
13:26for some nonsense and nothing infraction about crossing some sort of line on a pit entrance, pit exit.
13:33Lewis Hamilton, he got involved early and clashed with some drivers, including Frank Colopinto, I think,
13:38and was it Max?
13:40No, I'm not sure it was.
13:41He wasn't that far.
13:42But anyway, he had damage to the left-hand side, side pod and the barge board and the floor.
13:47He stayed out quite a long time, but he was always set for P7.
13:50It was a lonely race for P7 with damage to the car.
13:54And yeah, they are, he finished P7.
13:58So they've had up and down performance this weekend, have Ferrari,
14:01and they need to work on some consistency, said Fred Vasseur,
14:04and understand exactly what happened before Canada because they've got a lot of upgrades.
14:09They've seen Red Bull come with a version of their, Ferrari have come,
14:14Ferrari have seen Red Bull come with a version of their Macarena wing,
14:17which seems to dump more drag and so forth.
14:18So therefore is more, is more effective.
14:22And so they really need to sort of find out what's going on.
14:26But all praise to the Ferrari Ideas Factory that still seems to be cranking out the old upgrades.
14:34That seems to be going right.
14:35Right, talking about Upgrade Ideas Factory, I hope this does happen before the break, by the way.
14:39I'll just carry on going.
14:40Oh, there's George Russell.
14:41Here we go.
14:41Head down a bit.
14:42Do you know what?
14:43I think, I think P4, I think Georgia will reflect, even though 20 points behind Antonelli now,
14:48P4 is not a bad save on his bogey circuit, which I didn't really know before that he didn't like
14:53the circuit,
14:54but we certainly know now.
14:56To have, to be at your not great circuit and things not work out well for you,
15:01yes, on the back of Japan when it didn't work out for you either,
15:04to still come home with P4 and a load of points isn't that bad.
15:09And 20-point gap to Kimi Antonelli could have been a lot worse.
15:13So even though George looks like he's got to have root canal surgery in the morning,
15:18he should be, it's not that bad.
15:21Here we go.
15:22Hello, the heroes, welcome.
15:29I'll quickly do Max Verstappen, so fifth for him, but that might be six with a five-second penalty
15:34and they might swap positions with Leclerc.
15:37Isaac Hadjar was a DNF, disastrous first lap for Max, went over a kerb, lit up the rears
15:43and spun 360 degrees, recovered to P8, clunked into Sainz, Max pitted under the safety car.
15:57Oh, we are, we are going to have a little champagne, champagne shower,
16:02but Kimi Antonelli is long gone from that.
16:07Yeah.
16:09So, yeah, carrying on, clunked into Sainz, which Sainz complained about,
16:14Max pitted under the safety car and had to do the rest of the race, minus six laps,
16:19so had to do 50-odd laps on one set of tyres, so managed that very well.
16:23Did drop down quite a lot towards the end with the worn tyres,
16:28but pretty good performance considering.
16:32And Charles Leclerc closed, got by, but then had a spin, and then Max got by again.
16:36So, round out P5, but as I say, probably will end up being P6 if he gets a five-second
16:41penalty.
16:42Hadjar, hard tyre start, ran near the back, and then spun, and then, well, didn't spin,
16:47he then crashed, which was extremely unfortunate.
16:51He says, I don't know what's happening at the moment.
16:53It's the toughest time of my career so far, said Isaac Hadjar.
16:56He needs to go away and have a real big think about exactly what is going on.
17:01He was OK, but within a minute, after Hadjar crashed, another Frenchman crashed,
17:07who was Pierre Gasly, which was made for a very bad minute for Les Bleus,
17:14and brought out the safety car.
17:17Right, we've done 17 minutes or so.
17:20If all of this is starting to die down, let's take a break.
17:25I'm behind you, Simon.
17:26Let's take a break, and I'll tell you about a double points finish.
17:31There you go.
17:32That's Kimi, just to hear that.
17:34I'll tell you about a double points finish for Williams and how that happened,
17:38and we have a few movers in the Constructors' Championship as well.
17:43So, what it was that meant that we've got some teams taking other teams' positions
17:51in Constructors' Championships.
17:54Wow, that is all a bit, it's all a bit chaotic when you do it in the paddock,
17:57these photos, and the driver is slightly besieged in that,
18:02but, yeah, he's going for another photo.
18:04All right, we'll just leave this 10 seconds, and we will take a break.
18:08So, more Notebook in a bit.
18:20Hiya, welcome back to the Race Notebook from the 2026,
18:23not on when it was advertised earlier than scheduled, Miami Grand Prix.
18:27So, we would have been now in a great moment of I told you so and regret.
18:34We would have now been 35 minutes, 34 minutes and 20 seconds into the Miami Grand Prix,
18:40and still it wouldn't have rained.
18:41But, look, look at the clouds.
18:43It might have.
18:45Anyway, right.
18:47If you don't know what, if you haven't watched the race yet,
18:49because we told you it was going to be on at a certain time,
18:51and it wasn't, then watch this later on YouTube or something.
18:56Ugh, the 10-foot boom pole, honestly.
18:58And, no, look, this is interesting.
19:00So, Drive Survive, just come and think they can come
19:03and listen to everybody's conversation,
19:05and then all it takes is for Jimmy V to say, no, not now,
19:09and then they instantly put it away.
19:11So, if you're ever wondering how it's made,
19:14and this is proper behind-the-curtain stuff,
19:16then that's how.
19:17They assume that every conversation is open season,
19:20and there are many that are not in Formula One.
19:25And when...
19:26What are you saying?
19:27What?
19:28What?
19:29This is open.
19:30They're not interested in this, believe me.
19:33If somebody doesn't want the conversation recorded,
19:35the person in question just says, no, thank you,
19:37and then they're very respectful,
19:39and then they say, that's it.
19:40So, that's how, if you ever wondered,
19:42they get some of those discussions on Drive Survive,
19:45like that discussion, for example,
19:46where Alex Albin and Carlos Sainz,
19:48and, well, Carlos Sainz is looking at his gift from the Miami Dolphins,
19:52that seems to be fair game, apparently.
19:55Don't know if it will make the edit of Drive Survive,
19:57but, you know, it's all good stuff, isn't it?
20:00Especially to Alex Albin, who scored some points today,
20:02which doesn't happen every weekend for Williams.
20:05And, in fact, Williams are up one in Constructors because of it.
20:07They scored three points today,
20:09and they move up in the Constructors' Championship to eighth,
20:12I believe it is, because Audi, they can move ahead of Audi.
20:16So, the Sainz got away well, but got hit by Max and said,
20:20he thinks I'll do whatever he wants because he's in the midfield.
20:23Alex Albin could see it coming and took the place and ran ahead,
20:26but then Carlos Sainz got back, past Alex Albin.
20:30Max got past them both.
20:32Eventually, Sainz stopped on lap 29, a bit slow.
20:35Alex Albin stopped around them as well.
20:37They were finished 20 seconds behind Frank at Colopinto,
20:40but they are three more points,
20:42and that, as I say, puts them up one in the Constructors' to...
20:46See, always time for a photo, Jimmy V, isn't it?
20:50That put three more points and puts them P8 ahead of Audi,
20:54to whom we turn to in a second.
20:56Up one in the Constructors, I was just saying.
20:58I don't really have time for this.
21:00I'm on two minutes 50, and then I've only got seven minutes in total.
21:04Oh, now he comes in.
21:05This is the least interesting discussion they'll ever get.
21:08Yeah, well done, up in one of the Constructors.
21:10Yeah, really, really proud of how the teams pulled together the last five weeks.
21:13Thank you very much.
21:14Thanks.
21:15I told you it was quick.
21:17Right, Racing Bulls.
21:18Albin Lindblad, P14.
21:20They're in the corner there, Simon.
21:21Off you go.
21:22Liam Lawson, DNF.
21:24Oh, dear, Liam Lawson got a good start, was racing Gasly.
21:26Gasly had a go down the inside, but he outbraked himself, flipped Gasly over, damaged his car,
21:32and had to retire.
21:33And we are expecting some result from the stewards to see whether...
21:39All right, Uncle Otmar, you okay?
21:42We're expecting some result from the stewards to see if he has got a five-place grid penalty for the
21:49Canadian Grand Prix.
21:50I'm expecting that to happen.
21:51But Albin Lindblad, he was ran well in P12, but really struggled with the car.
21:56Dropped down to 30 seconds behind Ocon.
21:59So, yeah.
22:01With a Lawson potential penalty for Canada, and Racing Bulls seem to have dropped well behind Haas,
22:08they've got a lot to talk about, to think about, lots to work on.
22:12Aston Martin, P15.
22:13Lance Stroll, P17.
22:15Fernando lost out early on and dropped to P17.
22:17Both were slow and fell behind the Cadillacs.
22:20Lance Stroll pitted again on lap 38 before Fernando had made his first stop.
22:24Fernando finally stopped on lap 43 and then got Sergio Perez with a massive tyre offset.
22:30He got Sergio Perez on younger tyres and finished ahead of him.
22:34So, Alonso, 15th.
22:35Sergio Perez, 16th.
22:37And Lance Stroll, 17th.
22:38Lance Stroll finished five seconds behind Sergio Perez.
22:42But just to recap, they've solved their vibrations problems.
22:45Stop there and do Audi, because we'll do Audi next.
22:47Don't worry about getting to Aston Martin.
22:49Down to P9 in the constructors underneath Williams.
22:53Gabriel Bortoletto, P12.
22:54Hulkenberg was a did-not-finish.
22:55Hulkenberg had contact on lap 1 and had to pit for a new nose.
22:58Then they saw further damage to the car, pitted when the safety car had come out,
23:03and retired due to that technical problem.
23:07So that's what was going on with his Audi.
23:09But the Audi driver of the day, that is, the Audi driver driving faster than an Audi in all conditions,
23:13was Gabriel Bortoletto.
23:15Because from 21st on the grid, going up, driving his Audi as fast as it will possibly go in all
23:21conditions,
23:22is really good, because he went from 21st on the grid to 12th.
23:26So up, nine Grande Kimi.
23:29Well done.
23:30Three in a row.
23:31Brilliant.
23:32Congratulations.
23:33Dried his hair.
23:34Where's he going to now?
23:35Look at those calves.
23:36Better than mine, aren't they?
23:37Eh, Simon?
23:38Good calves, Antonelli.
23:40Bravo.
23:42Right, sorry.
23:42I got distracted.
23:44Yeah, so Bortoletto, good recovery, up from 21st to 12th.
23:49So finished 2.9 seconds behind Oli Behrman.
23:52Talking of Behrman, in the Haas, they are over there, but you might get there, you might not.
23:58Ocon 13th, down one of the constructors, Haas finished, because they didn't score any points today, and others did.
24:03Oli Behrman 11th, Ocon 13th, both decent opening phases, ran P10 and P11.
24:08Oli Behrman pitted on lap 27 with a slowish start, stop.
24:13Ocon had his faulty rain light on the grid that they had to change, which is something you don't see
24:19very often.
24:20It was a lonely race for both of them after that on track, but a decent, on a track that
24:25doesn't suit the Haas,
24:26but a decent result for Oli Behrman, P11.
24:28Esteban Ocon, P13, nine seconds off a point, but Alpine move ahead.
24:33And to Alpine we go next.
24:34Well done to Franco Colopinto, equaling his best result of his career.
24:39Eighth and four points, and that moves Alpine up to P5 in the constructors' championship.
24:45So both were inside the top ten on the grid.
24:49They moved up, Franco Colopinto raced Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen.
24:53Gasly was the innocent victim of the Lawson dive and was flipped over, and it was a DNF.
25:00Franco Colopinto ran P7 behind Lewis Hamilton, but stayed out very long time, pitted and stayed P8.
25:07He was helped, of course, by Williams with much less pace, but still best of the rest for Alpine.
25:15And they should be rightly happy with themselves because, as I say, they've moved into P5 in the constructors' championship,
25:22which is probably where they might finish.
25:23Well, probably might.
25:24I would say that's probably where Alpine will finish at the end of the year.
25:27But, hey, that's in December in Abu Dhabi.
25:30But, yeah, a good solid weekend and a sign of improvements there in Alpine.
25:34And finally, we will do Cadillac Valtteri Bottas P18, Sergio Perez P16 on Valtteri Bottas' 250th Grand Prix.
25:42He pitted under the safety car onto the soft tyre.
25:45Sergio Perez survived some of the chaos early on and pitted on lap 30.
25:51Alonso got Sergio Perez, but Sergio Perez finished ahead of Lance Stroll.
25:58Valtteri finished two laps down and last.
26:00Happy 20th, 250th race to you, Valtteri.
26:04Bosch, there you go.
26:04There's your present.
26:05Finishing last and two laps down.
26:08So, yeah, not a great reward, but 18th.
26:12Right, that is it.
26:14The podcast is on Tuesday.
26:16The Canadian Grand Prix is on the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of May.
26:21That is in three weeks' time from now.
26:24But I will close with a thought about this weekend.
26:28And on the weekend that we said goodbye to a speedy Italian who had bags of charm, huge amounts of
26:39ability behind a racing car,
26:41an inspiration to everybody who faced adversity in the most horrendous way, but come through it with his character intact.
26:49We have seen three races won and maybe a little bit of the Alessandro Zanardi spirit coming into Kimi Antonelli.
26:58Certainly the bit, you know, being a speedy Italian.
27:01So while we say ciao and goodbye to Alessandro Zanardi, we leave Miami with another speedy Italian, Kimi Antonelli,
27:09even further ahead in the Formula One World Drivers' Championship.
27:13Three in a row for Kimi.
27:15We will see you in Canada in a few weeks' time.
27:17Thanks for watching. Bye-bye.
