00:01A nine-year-old girl is feared drowned after she fell into a drain in Bandar Makkota Cheras
00:08on Friday evening.
00:10Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations, Assistant Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said
00:16they received an emergency call regarding the incident at Shri Hijau Condominium at
00:21about 7.08pm.
00:23Preliminary reports suggest the child may have fallen into the drain while trying to
00:28retrieve a ball.
00:29At the time, strong water currents were reported in the area which may have swept the victim

00:36On Saturday, the search and rescue operation was expanded to cover a 5km area, including
00:42the underground sewerage system near the scene.
00:46Ahmad Mukhlis said multiple teams have been deployed, with one team searching from a rubbish
00:52trap back towards the incident location, while another traces the sewerage route from where
00:58the child is believed to have fallen.
