⚠️ COMMUNITY SAFETY ALERT: ACTION REQUIRED

In solidarity with Simona Bearcub, who has an urgent call to prioritize the safety of our digital and advocacy spaces! ‼️

Meta’s Community Standards are explicit: CONVICTED X OFFENDERS are PROHIBITED from using Meta products, Facebook Threads, and Instagram. This policy exists for a reason—to prevent the platforms from being used as tools for harm.

Dr. Christy Perez has a documented history of utilizing platforms like Facebook and Craigslist to commit crimes involving children. We cannot allow the normalization of predators in activism communities where survivors and children should feel secure.

How you can help right now:
Go to the pages/profiles for Dr. Christy Perez/Businesses/Podcasts
Tap the three dots (...) and select "Find support or report profile."
Select "Something Else" then choose "Convicted Sex Offender."

This is a collective effort to ensure platform accountability and protect our circles.

🗒️We are currently working on restoring Simona Bearcub’s accounts following a wave of false reports. We will provide updates as soon as they are available. Stay vigilant! #communitysafetyalert #activism #calltoaction #explore #mayday

00:00Okay, everybody. So I have a May Day update and a call to action request, if you will.
00:09So we need to discuss a serious conversation here, okay, about community safety and platform
00:18accountability. Many of you know that Simona Bear Cub has been tireless, relentless in
00:28her advocacy work that she does, particularly as it pertains to keeping ex-offenders away and
00:40survivors of ex-offender offenses protected as a constant in her activism effort. Simona has asked
00:51for an urgent call to action to be declared regarding Dr. Christy Perez and how that situation
00:59affects the safety of our entire digital community and activism and advocacy spaces.
01:08Now, Simona has done the work to go digging into the MEDA community guidelines and the policy is
01:16clear. Convicted ex-offenders are not permitted to use MEDA, that is Facebook, Instagram, and
01:26Threads platform. This isn't just a difference of opinion. This is a fact about direct violation
01:34of safety standards meant to protect the most vulnerable people among us. And why is this
01:40so critical right now? Because history repeats itself when we don't pay attention. That is
01:48why. And we have found that out many, many times. Dr. Christy Perez has a documented history
01:54of using social media platforms, specifically Facebook and Craigslist, as tools to facilitate
02:03crimes involving children. These platforms weren't just a hobby. They were a medium used to
02:10target victims and to traffic them and sell them to other adults. Teenagers, children. When we allow
02:27convicted predators to maintain a presence on these platforms, we aren't just being inclusive.
02:33We are normalizing their presence in spaces where survivors and children should feel safe.
02:43Specifically, within the advocacy and activism communities, it is vital that we prioritize the
02:52safety of victims over the comfort of those who have caused irreparable harm. Simona is asking us to
03:01come together as a community to report this account. And here's exactly how you do it to ensure that
03:13MEDA takes the report seriously. First, go to the profile and navigate to the Facebook profile of the person
03:22that we're reporting. Click the three dots. Tap those three dots on the right side of the profile. Find report.
03:34Select
03:35find support or report profile. Then put the reason. Look for the option that specifies convicted
03:44ex-offender. MEDA has a specific pipeline for these types of reports. And then submit and block. Finish the report
03:56and for your own peace of mind, block this person. Like, they send flying monkeys. Don't play around with it.
04:04This takes about two minutes, but when several of us do it, the algorithm is forced to flag it for
04:10human review.
04:10This is about preventing further predatory behavior and ensuring these platforms aren't used as a hunting ground
04:18again. And it's important to note that this is a community effort. We cannot allow the normalization of
04:25predators in our circles, especially when they occupy perceived positions of power and authority. Our activism must be
04:35survivor-led and safety-focused. By reporting, you are sending a clear message. Our digital spaces are not for
04:43those who exploit them to harm children. Share this video, tell your friends in advocacy spaces, and let's make
04:52sure the guidelines that MEDA wrote are actually enforced. Lastly, a quick update on Simona Bearcup. As many of you
05:01know,
05:01her MEDA accounts were recently taken down after being falsely reported for fraud, even though she did not do
05:07anything fraudulent. As a reminder, she also has a podcast page. You should report that as well. And it's important
05:21to note that this person is also speaking on spiritual practices and in formats and ways that, again, I cannot
05:31diagnose anyone, but I can show you pattern recognition. And the situation there smells very culty and very
05:40scary. And that is another reason why her touting her influence when she was confronted about this
05:47situation is so scary is so scary because the flip side of influence is manipulation. We need to be
05:55careful, like Bailey Sarian says, get better idols. Make sure that you report this person's individual and
06:05business pages and their podcast.
