If you could put one former Piston on this current roster, who would you choose?
Transcript
00:00It's the cookie jar.
00:03Bunch of fun party questions to get you into the weekend.
00:05It's brought to you by Moran Chevrolet.
00:07My first question involves some math.
00:09So sorry in advance.
00:12$10 per push-up for life,
00:16or I'll give you a million dollars today.
00:20Oh.
00:21Oh, Heather?
00:23I think when I first read this, I read it differently.
00:27Unfortunately, I would take a million bucks right now.
00:30What?
00:31No.
00:33Hell no.
00:34I would make this my job.
00:37Because I currently do calisthenics.
00:42And I was, you know, I thought, okay, how many do I do per day?
00:48And I'm right around somewhere between 100 and 150 per day.
00:51You do?
00:52Well, sure you do.
00:53I can hardly do 10 push-ups, so.
00:56And so through a week, if let's just say I did 150, like that was my job.
01:02And I did 150 push-ups, and I spread it out over, let's just say, a half an hour.
01:07For the year, that would be 54,600 push-ups.
01:13And for the year, if it's $10, you add a zero, and it's $546,000 per year.
01:22So in two years, you've already made the break-even.
01:24The million bucks, yeah.
01:24But I would have to do nothing else.
01:26That would be my job.
01:28Correct.
01:28So then I would be able to increase.
01:30Maybe I do a set after breakfast, and I do another before dinner.
01:36Look, even if you're not in great push-up shape right now, you could get in a position where you
01:41could knock out even 50 in a day, which gets you $180,000 a year, which means in six years
01:48you break even.
01:49And if you plan on living longer than six years, you start raking in the dough.
01:53This may actually help you accomplish that.
01:55No kidding.
01:55I'll just take the million now, invest it properly, and then I don't need to work out.
02:02I like the idea of push-up, ka-ching, push-up, ka-ching, push-up, ka-ching.
02:07I do like that.
02:08And it would motivate me to work out, so I would take the $10 per push-up.
02:11All right, if I do 30 a day, that's $110,000 just under per year.
02:15So in 20 years, which I hope to lift at least 20 more years, I'd have $2.2 million.
02:20I'll take that.
02:22Heather just doesn't want to work for it.
02:24I read it differently.
02:24I read it, I was thinking up until a million dollars.
02:28I wasn't thinking I could get more than a million.
02:30Oh, it was capped at?
02:30Yeah, why would you do the work unless someone's going to write you the check?
02:34Unless you thought you would waste all the money right when you got it.
02:36Like, if you hand me a million dollars, would I just blow it on something big, or should I spread
02:41it out over?
02:41I thought I was offering you a deal as the banker to not blow your money and do push-ups
02:46instead to earn it.
02:47Either way, I'll take the cash.
02:48We're going to give you a million dollar annuity, or we'll give you a million dollars now.
02:53All right, next question.
02:54Maybe this one's more clear, I'm hoping.
02:58It's an either-or.
02:59It's a Detroit sports prop for the weekend.
03:01The Tigers runs against the Rangers.
03:04They will play them three times.
03:06Or Jalen Duren points.
03:08He could play one or two games.
03:11That's part of the decision.
03:13Which number is higher, Tiger runs or Duren points?
03:16All right, so...
03:18Yes.
03:20If he scores a series-high 13,
03:27that would mean for the three games,
03:29they would have to score over four runs on average.
03:33Tigers do score more than four runs per game.
03:35But the Rangers only allow 3.6 per game.
03:39Sorry for the numbers, people.
03:41Too much math.
03:44I hate that you're making me do this.
03:47I'm going to say Jalen Duren.
03:51Okay.
03:52Can I answer a question with a question?
03:53You could.
03:54Heather, do you have an answer on this one?
03:55Just off of what I...
03:57Kind of what you just said in some of the math,
03:59I would pick Duren.
04:00But I don't...
04:01I think the Pistons are playing one game.
04:03I think the Tigers will score more than 10 runs.
04:06I'll take the Tigers.
04:07Lots of wild cards here.
04:09I'm going to take a Tigers.
04:11Tom?
04:12Yeah, I mean, I think it's one game, too.
04:14The only thing that has to be concerned
04:15is the Rangers ERA is fourth in baseball.
04:18But the Tigers are 10-2 at home.
04:20They play well at home.
04:21Give me the...
04:22Tigers?
04:22Okay, there will be no more math the rest of the way.
04:26Tom.
04:28The Pistons could use a boost.
04:30If I gave you the chance to add any all-time Piston
04:32to this year's playoff team,
04:34who would you add?
04:36This is a no-brainer.
04:37It's Isaiah.
04:37There's no question.
04:39And then it's not adding somebody...
04:42I thought it would be funny to add Bing
04:43and they could be teammates.
04:44But I would add Isaiah
04:46because if you make Isaiah your point guard,
04:50one of the top...
04:51I mean, you could argue top five
04:53if you want to throw anybody else in there,
04:56maybe six or seven point guards
04:58in NBA history.
05:00I add him to this team.
05:02I make Cade the number two,
05:04free him up
05:05to do a lot more of what he's best at.
05:09It eliminates a lot of the turnovers.
05:11Isaiah was just shy of 20 points per game
05:14throughout his entire career.
05:17I'm adding Isaiah.
05:18Oh, it's a brainer.
05:20All right.
05:20I'll take Joe
05:24Dumars.
05:26He instantly becomes the secondary score
05:29for Cade Cunningham.
05:31Someone that he can distribute to.
05:33The strength of Cade is his distribution.
05:35So you don't want to double up there with Isaiah.
05:36And Joe Dumars is a very good defender
05:39on the other end.
05:40So he plays on both end of the floors
05:42at a high level.
05:43Former Finals MVP, Joe Dumars.
05:45So I was so torn on this
05:46because I initially was going with Greg
05:48for all those reasons.
05:49But Isaiah Thomas is the best piston of all time.
05:52I would go with Isaiah to run the point guard.
05:54You'd have less turnovers.
05:56And then that opens up space for Cade.
05:58It opens up space for everybody else.
06:00Isaiah would be able to break down
06:02what the Magic are doing.
06:05I took neither of those players.
06:07Oh, did you go with Dave Bing?
06:08I took the player who scored the most points
06:11in Pistons playoff history.
06:14Rip Hamilton.
06:15Same thought as Greg.
06:17An outlet, a shooter,
06:19go get me a bucket,
06:21and could more than hold his own on defense.
06:23There's your secondary offense.
06:24Who's the better three-point shooter,
06:25Dumars or Rip?
06:26I would say Dumars was.
06:27And he plays the D.
06:33All right.
06:34Yesterday was National Bugs Bunny Day.
06:37Who's the best cartoon character of all time?
06:39To me, this is also a no-brainer.
06:42It's Mickey Mouse.
06:43A generation after generation after generation,
06:49kids love Mickey Mouse.
06:51There are even adults,
06:53even as weird as it seems,
06:55that love Mickey Mouse.
06:57It's got to be Mickey Mouse.
06:59Mickey Mouse is a good one.
07:01There's a lot of great cartoons.
07:02I think some of my favorite,
07:06I'm still a big Scooby-Doo fan.
07:08I like Shaggy.
07:09Shaggy and Scooby go together to me.
07:11Those two?
07:12Yeah, but it's just one cartoon character.
07:14Then Shaggy.
07:15Okay, I took Scooby.
07:16Oh, okay.
07:17So there we go.
07:18Of course, yes.
07:19Any dreams we need to know about?
07:21Oh, my God.
07:22We'll go way off the board here.
07:23I'll say a favorite one.
07:25I'll say Bingo Healer,
07:27Bluey's little sister from Bluey.
07:29Tom?
07:30I'm going with Beavis,
07:31so I can be the great Cornholio.
07:32Oh, ha, ha, yeah.
07:36Who's your butthead?
07:38I don't know.
07:41John makes it weird.
07:43Last one.
07:44This is a viral moment.
07:46Simon Edvinson and Cooper DeGene
07:48were at Stagecoach,
07:50and they did a jersey swap.
07:51Would you do a cross-sport trade
07:53one-for-one?
07:54Cooper DeGene becomes a Detroit Lion.
07:56Simon Edvinson becomes a Philadelphia Flyer.
07:59Would you do the deal?
07:59In a heartbeat,
08:00because the wings are more than
08:03just one or two players away.
08:05The biggest question I have
08:07is the safety position
08:09going into this season,
08:10and I don't necessarily know
08:12that the Lions are one player away
08:15from winning a Super Bowl,
08:16but he sure would help out a lot
08:18with that defense.
08:19You solidified the front.
08:20You got Jack Campbell
08:22at that linebacker position.
08:23You're starting to get some depth there.
08:24I would do this hands down
08:27in a heartbeat.
08:29I don't know.
08:30Sure.
08:31Both teams, I don't know.
08:33The Red Wings need to get
08:35to one player away.
08:36You don't get to one player away
08:37until you're two players away,
08:39and you don't get to there
08:40until you're three players away.
08:41So, I mean, the wings need help, too.
08:44Oh, I'm going with DeGene
08:46in a heartbeat here.
08:47Super Bowl champ.
08:48Versatile player in the secondary.
08:50Could play corner and safety.
08:52That's something this team could need.
08:55Guess what, though?
08:55They're both 23,
08:57and they're born four days apart.
08:59I didn't realize that.
09:01I wouldn't do the deal.
09:03No?
09:03Oh, because you're a hockey guy.
09:05You're anizer bot.
09:07They need all the help they can get.
09:09There's your cookie jar
09:10brought to you by Moran Chevrolet.
09:14You're going to bring up
09:15they could have traded Edvinson
09:16for Quinn Hughes.
09:16We're going to do that again?
09:17Yeah.
09:18Well, I mean, they could have.
09:19I mean, I'd give up a jersey
09:20for an all-star.
09:21Three points last night
09:22is the wild advantage.
09:23We're not going down the rabbit hole.
09:24It's 97-1.
