00:00In the history of my father and all the deaths of that time,
00:05the state has been the cause for direct action and omission.
00:14In the context of the genocide and the patriotic union,
00:17in front of the deaths and everything that happened in the University of Antioquia.
00:21And, well, everything that came later, the state has been responsible for these deaths,
00:32that generation that we lost, that generation of ideas, of change that we lost.
00:38There is a great responsibility that the state has.
00:41We are going to the burial, and it was supremely dolorous,
00:45because I remember that I felt like it was a movie of pain,
00:49but I was out of her, I didn't understand much the dimension.
00:54And someone finally decided to talk in that entierro,
00:58and to give a speech because there was a lot of fear.
01:00And that was Carlos Gónima, a great friend of my father,
01:03in that moment, a prisoner of auxiliary of Medellín.
01:06And, well, Carlos talks about him, about the human quality,
01:09about that man who they had murdered.
01:13And, what sad is also about this,
01:15is that Gónima killed a month after my father.
01:18After 30 years of olvido, of invisibility and of tergiversation of this history,
01:25because no part of who said that my father had been guerrilla or delincuente,
01:30we have to say that after 30 years,
01:33we, with dignity and pride, we say no.
01:36That my father is part of those 8 million victims,
01:41that he is part of those 5.000 people murdered in the Patriotic Union,
01:46and that he is part of that generation that gave his life for the peace,
01:50and that we feel proud of ourselves,
01:53and we rescate their struggles and ideas.
01:56We work for the peace, for the joy, and for the dignity in this country,
02:01and we feel proud of where we came.
