We will have a Game 6 in Boston, Friday! David Pastrnak netted the OT game winner, as Swayman stopped 24/25. Scheim: (Swayman) "He was phenomenal". Thoughts on Game 5?
Transcript
00:00He kept him alive throughout that entire hockey game.
00:03He was phenomenal.
00:04You and I were texting.
00:06He made a bunch of saves that he had no business making.
00:10So, you know, they live to have another chance here.
00:15And so what?
00:16If this Bruins team could score, like it's very similar to the Red Sox being unable to hit.
00:21Like if this Bruins team could just score, they would be up three games to one in the series.
00:25Oh, they had a lot of chances.
00:27They had a lot of chances last night.
00:29And, but they were able to, a couple times, they were able to kill penalties that I thought it was
00:40over.
00:41So that one in the second period that they were able to kill when there was a shot block and
00:51you ended up, was that Kastalik who ended up hurt after that shot block in that PK?
00:57It was, honestly, like you, you, you have a little bit of life.
01:02And if you're somebody who thought that this team should take this series with Buffalo, like you said, Buffalo's not
01:09that much of a better team than, than you have a little bit of life.
01:14And you're coming home and you played great all season long at home.
01:17Like that's kind of been your superpower is playing at home.
01:21You should now know, like, I think they understand because after Pasta scored that goal, like you could see the
01:27energy and the celebration of how like they understand their backs against the wall.
01:33And now you should know coming home for game six, you should really understand how important this game is to
01:40push that game seven with a team that would go, wait a second.
01:44We were up 3-1 in the series and now we just lost two in a row and we got
01:50to go back to Buffalo for game seven with, with a young team.
01:55I'm telling you, it's, it's crucial.
01:57This game six.
01:57Last night was revenge for game one.
01:59Like those fans were waiting to just put the dagger through the heart of the Bruins and they were unable
02:05to.
02:05And if I own the Bruins and obviously I don't, not yet, dad, game four people could go to game
02:12six for free.
02:13Oh, well, that's very nice.
02:15That would be cool.
02:16Like you went to a six, nothing disaster.
02:18The least they could do is get them into game six with a, with a freebie.
02:22But if they send this to game seven, and I don't want to get ahead of ourself.
02:26I know B's fans will not be happy.
02:29All the pressures on Buffalo.
02:31Oh yeah.
02:31All of it.
02:32Tight as can be.
02:34Like that, just the drama alone of that.
02:36And you have the better goalie.
02:38So isn't that the, and Shimer, if you have the better goalie in a must win hockey game, don't you
02:42have the edge?
02:43I would say so.
02:44You feel pretty good about that.
02:45Like I just, I don't know.
02:47On Sunday when they lost six to one, I was like, this team is just DOA.
02:51Like they did, they didn't look like they even wanted to be there.
02:53And then last night they show up and they're grinding.
02:56They're back to being the normal Bruins.
02:57So, you know, maybe that loss was kind of a wake up call, but I don't know.
03:02I'm, I'm excited for Friday night.
03:04I just, I don't know what to expect.
03:05If Swayman comes out and plays like that, I mean, it's going to be hard to lose hockey games.
03:09Yes.
03:09Point by game dog wigs.
03:10Is game six a must win for the Bruins?
03:12Oh yeah.
03:13Okay.
03:13Definite must win.
03:15Definite must win.
03:16Gotta win that one.
03:17Good.
03:18Hello, Sean.
03:19Hey, Greg, good morning.
03:20Big night for you, by the way, if all goes as planned, Chime gets to have a throw with
03:27Drake May tonight.
03:28So we'll see if that works out.
03:31I've already planned it.
03:31I'm going to make sure to go to the bathroom ahead of time.
03:34I won't, no interruptions whatsoever.
03:36I am always going to be available.
03:37Smart kid.
03:38All right.
03:39I can't wait.
03:41We'll see if we can make it happen tonight.
03:42But anyway, your lead.
03:43Yeah.
03:43Good morning.
03:44So it's so interesting to me that the, uh, the Boston Bruins during the regular season,
03:48they were phenomenal at home and below average on the road.
03:52And yet here we stand getting ready for a game six Friday night at the garden where they've
03:58lost both games at home, but won two out of three in Buffalo.
04:02You did the hard part.
04:04Now go do what you've done.
04:06Well, all year, if you want to actually compete in this series, go win at home.
04:11Like you've done all season long.
04:12That's the one thing the Bruins have done.
04:14Well, all year is play good at home.
04:16And yet they got absolutely shelled on Sunday and then had lost the game before that as well
04:22at home.
04:22So here's your opportunity to reset that, get back to what you were doing well in the regular
04:27season at home, and then try and go win in Buffalo at game seven, where as Curtis mentioned
04:32earlier, all of the pressure will be on the Sabres.
04:36A team who hasn't won a playoff series in over a decade, a team that hasn't been to
04:40the playoffs in over a decade.
04:42Like this is the perfect opportunity for you to somehow finagle an upset.
04:47And after Sunday's game, I didn't think that was remotely possible.
04:50After seeing last night, the way Jeremy Swayman played, the way they were able to come through
04:54in overtime, I think there's a chance.
04:56And I'm hopeful for a Friday night and the Boston Bruins.
05:00Okay.
