00:27The country ended up with a transcendental decision of the Constitutional Court.
00:31According to the Tribunal, since today, women in Colombia will not be charged with jail for practicing abortions.
00:37It was a lot of emotion to not believe that we had achieved a court as we wanted.
00:55The hard part of that day was Marta Solay González, a woman who wanted to tell her personal case.
01:05She had cancer and was pregnant and couldn't do the treatment she needed because she was pregnant.
01:14For the moment in which we presented the request, she had already been exhausted and couldn't do anything.
01:21But that same night, we interviewed her on television to give her opinion on the sentence.
01:27And we were celebrating in the office when she came back.
01:30And it was very sad to see her, she was so happy, saying, we won the victory.
01:36But we knew that the victory had come too late for her.
01:41And the only thing she wanted was that her story didn't repeat itself.
01:45That more women in Colombia didn't have to die because they couldn't do it.

02:42La otra cosa que hubiera hecho diferente es no separar las causales. Yo creo que
02:49hubiera, hoy presentaría una demanda pidiendo la despenalización del aborto
02:55terapéutico, entendido como el riesgo para la salud de la mujer, que hoy en día es
02:59solo una de esas causales, pero su definición es tan amplia que realmente
03:04engloba las otras. Por ejemplo, nadie podría decir que una violación no afecta
03:09a la salud de la víctima de violación.
03:17La salud es un estado de bienestar biopsicosocial. Cuando hay afectación, no
03:23afectación, cuando hay un riesgo de afectación para la salud, la mujer puede
03:27interrumpir el embarazo legalmente, siempre y cuando haya un certificado de un
03:31médico o de un psicólogo o psiquiatra.
03:43Yo creo que en 10 años es un tiempo más que suficiente para haber superado muchos de
03:48esos obstáculos, pero estos 10 años han sido, ocho de ellos, resistir el principal
03:55obstáculo que hemos tenido desde el mismo estado, desde la institución encargada de
03:59garantizar los derechos y velar por el cumplimiento de la ley que es la Procuraduría General de la Nación.
