The second phase of the assembly elections in Bengal is witnessing a massive voter turnout, with data from the Election Commission indicating a 78.68% voter turnout by 3 pm.

00:00It's coming in at this point in time, let's tell you about the bumper voting that's happening in Bingo.
00:06Phase 2 elections, Phase 2 polling, 78.68% voter turnout has been reported.
00:13That's the latest figure we have, which is still this afternoon, 3pm.
00:17Maximum voting reported in the Purva, Bhardaman district of 83.11%, 75.66% turnout in Babanipur,
00:28which is the big bastion of Mahmoud Abandipur.
00:30These are details that we have till 3pm, data till 3pm,
00:35that shows that a large number of people are in fact coming out and voting in these elections clearly.
00:43A high stakes battle shows bigger participation of the people
00:47as far as the formation of the government in the state of Bengal is concerned.
00:52The last time around also viewers, this is a state in the first phase of polling
00:56that saw up to 93% total voter turnout.
01:01That's a percentage, a big percentage.
01:03It's clearly a battle which is a high stakes one.
01:06Important issues being raised here.
01:09And greater participation of the voter, of the citizens,
01:13speaks volumes of how, A, this is a competitive race.
01:16There is also far more legitimacy to this as far as the representation of the population's will is concerned.

01:27Of course, we will be getting the final data by the end of the day as announced by the election
01:31commission,
01:32which is the usual protocol here.
01:35But some districts are seeing 83.11% voting.
01:40This is the Purva-Bardaman district.
01:42Now in the battle of Bhabanipur, the voter turnout as of now is over,
01:47well above the 75% mark.
01:50Data till 3pm.
01:52And if you look at an average figure as of now,
01:55it is 78.68 voter turnout percentage.
02:00It is being reported till 3pm.
02:02Of course, we've also in fact seen the Prime Minister thanking the people of Bengal for high voter turnout.
02:12Political leaders across the political spectrum have been asking,
02:16urging voters to come out and vote in big numbers.
02:19And that is what exactly is being seen at this point in time.
02:26The voter turnout in the first phase as well,
02:29which was well above the 92% mark, touching 93.
02:33Right now, we are crossing the 75% mark.
02:37If you look at the average voter percentage,
02:40data of course gets released once every two hours.
02:43And this is the latest data from 3pm shared by the election commission of India
02:49that shows a big voter turnout.
02:51As far as these elections are concerned,
02:54in other elections as well, of course,
02:56if you look at the first phase in the state of Bengal,
03:00you look at a figure of 93%.
03:02It's a record voter turnout that is being seen.
03:06The latest data at 3pm in Rajit Kundu,
03:09showing an average of about 78 plus percent.
03:18Well, Sneha, this is on expected lines,
03:20because when we saw in the morning at around 11 o'clock,
03:23there was 40% polling.
03:25And then by 1 o'clock, it was 61%.
03:27And now by 3 o'clock, it's 78.6%.
03:30So it's clearly reaching the 80% mark.
03:34And we still have about two more hours to go.
03:37So one can expect, once again,
03:41the voter turnout may cross the 90% mark.
03:45The big question on everybody's mind here in West Bengal is,
03:47will the second phase voters be able to trump
03:51the polling percentage of the first phase?
03:54Because the first phase was a record 93.2%.
