00:01:01Well, today the Champions League semifinals kickoff, four matches across eight days will decide which two teams will advance to
00:01:08club football's biggest game.
00:01:10On one side of the bracket, there are two teams that have never lifted the trophy, Atletico Madrid against Arsenal.
00:01:15And on the other side, the defending champions PSG are playing the six-time winners Bayern Munich.
00:01:21And all four know that there is no margin for error.
00:01:28The semi-final of the Champions League.
00:01:31To his left, oh, what a goal.
00:01:34The European champions are into the semi-final again.
00:01:38Into Harry Kane, yes.
00:01:41That's how to crown a magnificent victory.
00:01:47Antetel versus Simeone.
00:01:50Atleti right back on time.
00:01:53Declan Rice.
00:01:56Brutal by Atletico Madrid.
00:01:58Big goals in big games.
00:02:01And they're into the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
00:02:06Welcome along, everybody.
00:02:09Yes, welcome to London and the first day of the Champions League semifinals.
00:02:12I'm Kate Scott.
00:02:13As we always say, big names, big games.
00:02:16Yeah.
00:02:17I said it the wrong way around.
00:02:18Nobody noticed.
00:02:18Here they are.
00:02:19Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, Liverpool great Jamie Carragher and Manchester City's man of the people.
00:02:25Big neeks, Micah Richards.
00:02:27Yes.
00:02:28We're all here excited for these semifinals.
00:02:31We had 10 days, a week apart, something like that.
00:02:34It was lovely.
00:02:35It was, was it?
00:02:35Yeah, I feel like we were getting on each of us nerves last time.
00:02:38You know what I mean?
00:02:38Who specifically?
00:02:44Jamie's been quite fancy in the break I heard.
00:02:46Ooh.
00:02:47Yes, a little trip on the Orient Express.
00:02:50Yes.
00:02:51Is that right?
00:02:51Oh, not just the Orient Express.
00:02:53Tell more.
00:02:54Two nights in Venice, then the Orient Express, then a night in Paris.
00:02:58I was the Orient Express.
00:03:00Very good.
00:03:00Expensive.
00:03:01Was this you being romantic?
00:03:06I just said, we all need a break from each other.
00:03:10Was this a you and Nicola trip?
00:03:11Was this like a romantic thing?
00:03:12Always me and Nicola's trip, yes.
00:03:13Yeah.
00:03:14Very good.
00:03:14No one else gets involved.
00:03:16I mean, you're welcome to come along if you want one time.
00:03:18Where?
00:03:19To Paris?
00:03:19Does Nicola want to be there?
00:03:20I would like to do the Orient Express.
00:03:23I would like to do that.
00:03:24You would?
00:03:24Because you can go different places, right?
00:03:26Where would you want to go?
00:03:27I don't know.
00:03:27Just to be in.
00:03:29The train?
00:03:29Yeah.
00:03:30You know?
00:03:30Yeah.
00:03:30Just that.
00:03:31I tell you what.
00:03:32There's a good little bevy and sing song on the train.
00:03:35You love a sing song.
00:03:37Yeah, I do.
00:03:37And a bevy too.
00:03:40It's a little bit stiff to start with.
00:03:42You know, it's all those type of people.
00:03:44Well, if you're saying it's stiff.
00:03:45I know.
00:03:46But I mean, it's a bit like, these need loosening up.
00:03:48What type of people?
00:03:49A little bit awkward.
00:03:51No one really knows each other.
00:03:52And it's a bit all high in.
00:03:54There's a lot of small talk.
00:03:56Oh, yeah?
00:03:57And then the bevy start going.
00:03:58What did you sing?
00:03:59What were you singing?
00:04:00The songs start loosening.
00:04:01No way.
00:04:01You know what, didn't I just sing along the fella?
00:04:03Good little banjo.
00:04:04The fella?
00:04:04It was good.
00:04:05Yeah, we emptied the bar.
00:04:07A lot of Americans on there.
00:04:09Really?
00:04:10Yeah.
00:04:10Did you get noticed?
00:04:11I was just going to say some of the Americans
00:04:13that have used them on American TV.
00:04:15Maybe not great.
00:04:17Well, let's talk about the semi-finals we've got coming up.
00:04:20Because we've got a couple of really good games
00:04:22over these next two days.
00:04:23Today and tomorrow, Thierry.
00:04:25Yeah, I mean, that's the one that everyone wanted to see.
00:04:28Let's all be honest.
00:04:30Tonight.
00:04:30The one of tonight.
00:04:31Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich.
00:04:32Just because of how the two teams play
00:04:35and what they did in a round before.
00:04:38It's just, like, it's football at its best.
00:04:41Come on, miss.
00:04:42And so hopefully we're going to see a good game.
00:04:43For me, tomorrow is different
00:04:44because that's the team I support, obviously.
00:04:46So it's going to be exciting.
00:04:49But, yeah, that's the game everyone wants to see.
00:04:53You know, when we talk about football, though,
00:04:55this is what you want to see.
00:04:56PSG versus Bayern.
00:04:58In terms of individual quality,
00:05:00in terms of the teams,
00:05:02in terms of aggressive football,
00:05:04confidence,
00:05:05a young coach,
00:05:08experienced.
00:05:08It's just going to be amazing.
00:05:10I can't wait for it.
00:05:10You like what?
00:05:11You like the fit when you walked in?
00:05:13No, it's not about that.
00:05:14French people are always a bit extra with it,
00:05:15don't you think?
00:05:16It's just the vibe.
00:05:18You will, you know,
00:05:18just say how we are, you know.
00:05:19If you know, you know it.
00:05:20No, but it's just...
00:05:21People always try to read Michael Olysee.
00:05:24Don't.
00:05:25It's just...
00:05:26That's Michael.
00:05:27You know, he always will do things.
00:05:29You know, sometimes people say
00:05:29he doesn't jump with his teammates
00:05:30at the end of the game
00:05:31or he will still talk about the game
00:05:33or he will do whatever he needs to do.
00:05:35He's just different.
00:05:39All right, everybody.
00:05:40Well, there is a blockbuster showdown
00:05:41at the Parc des Princes tonight,
00:05:43as Thierry was saying.
00:05:43Peter Schmeichel and Anita Jones
00:05:45are pitch side for us over there.
00:05:46Let's check in with them.
00:05:47Good evening, Anita and Peter.
00:05:51Anita, I wanted to ask you,
00:05:52because we get so used to seeing you with Peter,
00:05:54but you had a different co-host this weekend
00:05:56when I saw you on the Women's Champions League.
00:05:59Was that a nice change for you?
00:06:01No, that wasn't this weekend.
00:06:02What?
00:06:03That wasn't.
00:06:06Really?
00:06:06Really?
00:06:08Really?
00:06:09That was good.
00:06:10You had me there.
00:06:10I was thinking, who was I with?
00:06:12Yeah, Ghanasaurus was a man of few words.
00:06:14Maybe that's what Arsenal does to you these days.
00:06:16I don't know.
00:06:17But we're not talking about that.
00:06:18That's for tomorrow's show.
00:06:19It is a...
00:06:25He's starting early, Jamie.
00:06:27We've got a few hours to go.
00:06:28Save it.
00:06:29Maybe save it for later in the show.
00:06:31It is.
00:06:32Big game, big night, big words coming from Jamie.
00:06:35Yeah, Jamie, you just told us a story
00:06:37about the Orient press and singing and all that.
00:06:40And I know that you record everything.
00:06:42You're on social media all the time.
00:06:43Why haven't we seen any of that?
00:06:45It must have been filmed.
00:06:47Do you want a video?
00:06:50Have you got a video?
00:06:51I want to see it, yeah.
00:06:53OK, I'll get Nicola.
00:06:54We'll have one by the next time your necks come on.
00:06:56Not tomorrow.
00:06:57In half an hour, Nicola will have a video.
00:06:59In fact, go on Nicola's Instagram.
00:07:01You'll probably follow her.
00:07:06She put the video on up there.
00:07:08That's all right, Jamie.
00:07:09That's all right, video.
00:07:11OK, well, Jamie, we're going to leave your activities
00:07:14from the last 10 days to one side
00:07:16because, of course, we are here pitch side
00:07:17for what is set to be an incredible semifinals,
00:07:21defending European champions and PSG
00:07:23taking on the recently crowned Bundesliga winners.
00:07:26And the sense of anticipation is really in the high.
00:07:28The stakes are high.
00:07:29It's two of Europe's, I guess, best sides, Peter.
00:07:32No, no, they are the best side.
00:07:34I don't think there's any doubt about that.
00:07:35These guys we're going to watch today,
00:07:38they do everything fantastically well.
00:07:40They score a ton of goals on both sides.
00:07:42PSG scored 115 goals this season alone.
00:07:46Well, compared to Bayern,
00:07:49167 goals they've scored in this season.
00:07:52Harry Kane, 53 on his own.
00:07:55I mean, that's just a crazy number.
00:07:56These guys are going to be on this pitch today.
00:07:58And it's funny because we're here,
00:08:00we're out and about so often
00:08:02and kind of few at times, you know,
00:08:05there's a little bit of nervousness in the air
00:08:07and there's nothing today.
00:08:09It's anticipation.
00:08:10You used that word before.
00:08:12People are, everyone are just looking forward to this.
00:08:15It's got to be a spectacle.
00:08:16You can never guarantee anything in football,
00:08:18but I think there's a good chance
00:08:20that you can guarantee goals today
00:08:21because they concede a lot, both teams,
00:08:24but they also score a lot of goals.
00:08:26So this is going to be a fantastic game.
00:08:27I can't wait for it to start.
00:08:29No, none of us can wait for it.
00:08:30But the numbers are really interesting.
00:08:31You speak about the fact that people are expecting goals.
00:08:33In fact, the French media have deemed this as a saga.
00:08:36They're saying that the saga continues.
00:08:38That's the L'Equipe.
00:08:39And both teams coming into this game
00:08:40have scored 38 goals apiece,
00:08:42which shows that they are not shy
00:08:44in front of goal at all, Peter.
00:08:45No, I mean, if you just look at the players
00:08:48that there are expected,
00:08:49the Qualcomm, Dembélé, Dewey, on the Paris side,
00:08:53and then where do you start with Bayern?
00:08:56Obviously, Harry Kane, as I said, 53 goals.
00:08:58Michael Olesi, 25 goals.
00:09:00I mean, there are goals everywhere in these two teams.
00:09:03And I just can't see any of these defences today
00:09:07sort of stop these guys from creating chances.
00:09:10Yeah, it's going to be a star-studded affair here
00:09:12in the French capital, Kate.
00:09:14I can also tell you that the Bayern fans
00:09:16were here two and a half hours before kickoff,
00:09:18so we'll probably hear their voices in full flow
00:09:22when the game starts, too.
00:09:24Okay, thank you.
00:09:25Look at Peter nailing all the pronunciations.
00:09:27Yes, he did.
00:09:28Very good, very good.
00:09:29Peter!
00:09:30Very good.
00:09:32Very good.
00:09:34Wow, I've been rehearsing.
00:09:35Yeah, that's what the week was off for.
00:09:39Well, there's nothing like the tension
00:09:41and the emotion of Champions League semi-final nights
00:09:43is that after the break,
00:09:44we're going to take a walk down memory lane.
00:09:46Look at this, some of our CBS team
00:09:48who have lived this dream.
00:09:51Stay with us.
00:09:52We'll be back.
00:10:05He passes the ball.
00:10:07Goal!
00:10:08Kevin, when we're out together
00:10:12dancing cheek to cheek.
00:10:15The Giants
00:10:25We'll be right back.

00:12:53Manchester United are heading to the final of the Champions League.
00:12:59A near-supernatural goal from Lionel Messi.
00:13:06Chelsea have done it. An incredible comeback with 10 men.
00:13:14They tore Barcelona with epic. Critical finish from Demo Carrini.
00:13:21They prayed for miracles and miracles arrived.
00:13:35Yes, the drama, the epic nights, the brilliant players. It's all such a part of why we love
00:13:39this game of football. So let's relive a few of those memories with the legends that help
00:13:44make them. Yes. Jamie, Terry, I want to hear about your experiences playing semifinals in
00:13:49the Champions League. You played three and four years, won two of them, all of them against
00:13:53Chelsea. I guess these would have been considered kind of some of your best performances of your
00:13:58career, right? What do you remember about those experiences?
00:14:02Well, certainly for me, the greatest nights I had at Anfield, obviously played at Anfield so, so often in my
00:14:07career.
00:14:08And the thing I love about semifinals at the time of the year, it's very late.
00:14:11So even though it's an evening game, there's something almost like a summer feel about it.
00:14:16And the atmosphere, as I said, it's legendary at Anfield. And to play Chelsea twice, certainly in the first two,
00:14:21where you play the second leg at Anfield as well. The atmosphere, and they were our games. I mean, obviously
00:14:27Jürgen Klopp's team will have the Barcelona game. I think we just saw some of the goals going in from
00:14:31that game. I think every team will win something big at Liverpool. They'll have one night to remember at Anfield.
00:14:37Unfortunately for us, we had a couple against the same opposition.
00:14:39Can we relive some of the footage? That'd be cool, wouldn't it? So 2005, let's take a look at that
00:14:44one first of all.
00:14:45So we've had the first leg. We've drew away 0-0 with Chelsea. That's me up against Drogba. That was
00:14:50the battle on the day. Listen, he was a fantastic striker. Much bigger guy than me, really. So he was
00:14:58really difficult to stop. But as I said, we got the clean sheet in the first game. We scored a
00:15:02goal early on. So this was about just trying to stop Chelsea's score.
00:15:06This Chelsea team were far better than us. So this felt like the whole 90 minutes was us defending, really.
00:15:14We didn't have enough quality in the team to go and try and get a second or third goal and
00:15:19take the game away from them.
00:15:20But what was really interesting here, second half, normally we want to attack the Kop's second half, but it helped
00:15:26us defend in the Kop's second half.
00:15:28Normally the Kop would suck the ball in, they'd say. Nice little pass there. But we needed the Kop to
00:15:36keep the ball out with us. That's what it was in that second half.
00:15:39You're being humble here though, aren't you, Jamie? You were immense on this night. This is one of the games
00:15:43where I think was, like you said, one of your best performances.
00:15:46Yeah, I think this is one where, listen, if you speak to Liverpool supporters, they'd probably say, me and, certainly
00:15:52at Anfield, this was my greatest night at Anfield, if you like.
00:15:55That was a big header against Robert Huth. And this, I'm up against Ian Robin here, get out the way,
00:16:00big carers in town.
00:16:02Trying to come out with the ball.
00:16:03Jamie, is it fair to say, I mean, I'm sure you will agree, but the level of how you were
00:16:09with your brain and how you could anticipate plays, because in all the images that I saw here, and I
00:16:15played against you, you could position your team well and you could read the game well and pass it also
00:16:20well.
00:16:20So, explain the fact that, obviously, as you said, you weren't the biggest one. That's a massive place to be
00:16:26able to read the game so well.
00:16:27Yeah, when you think of great centre-backs, even players who will be playing tonight, I'm not the biggest. And
00:16:32I look at you, too, and I think about this, I think sometimes when you think of some of the
00:16:35best players in the world, they're real physical specimens as well as great players.
00:16:39Look at you, too. I'm just like a normal fellow you'll see in the pub. I'm just under six foot.
00:16:45I weigh about 13 stone. I'm not special physically.
00:16:48So, to play at that level, I had to sort of have something always be switched on, always be alive,
00:16:55always be an organiser, a talker.
00:16:57So, my biggest strength was what was going on in here. It was my understanding of football. I love football,
00:17:02but also I was very intense and I never switched off for a second, because if I did, I wasn't
00:17:06good enough to make up for a mistake.
00:17:09We're going to interrupt the walk down memory lane. We're going to take you out to Paris, everybody, to join
00:17:13a legend of the game, former Real Madrid.
00:17:15Yay!
00:17:16Thank you.
00:17:23Welcome, welcome, welcome.
00:17:25Hey, Le Vieux, tu es mignon. Oh, tu es mignon. Oh, la la, joli, joli.
00:17:29You look cute tonight.
00:17:31Fashionista, hein? Fashionista.
00:17:34Claude, we were just reliving with Jamie some of the Champions League semifinals that you guys played between Liverpool and
00:17:42your team, Chelsea, at the time.
00:17:43What do you remember about those semifinals and about Jamie as an opponent?
00:17:49Ich bin losing.
00:18:44getting on the ball and controlling the game.
00:18:47Because we needed the game to be fast, energetic,
00:18:50use the energy of the crowd.
00:18:51And he was fantastic.
00:18:52People think about him stopping the attacking players.
00:18:55But he basically ran the game for Chelsea in that position.
00:18:58And if he slowed the game down,
00:19:00it means we couldn't get the crowd involved in the game as well.
00:19:02So Claude Makaleli, maybe people think he was supposed to mark Steven Gerrard,
00:19:08but Steven Gerrard's job was to mark Claude Makaleli in those games,
00:19:11to make sure we stopped him playing on the game.
00:19:13So it was an honour for me to share a picture with you.
00:19:19Thank you, thank you very much.
00:19:21It should, because also I learned a lot in the Premier League, you know.
00:19:25I remember when I was, I've been there, I started playing with Arsenal.
00:19:29I remember my teammates like, oh, we play with Arsenal.
00:19:33And I said, yeah, we need to learn from them,
00:19:34because we never know we can win.
00:19:36And I always talk with Cherry in this time.
00:19:40I say, oh, Wenger, he tell me I need to come in your place
00:19:43because you take the ball, I say, oh, leave me alone, you know.
00:19:46It's like a funny, but I'm understanding my role, you know.
00:19:49I'm understanding exactly what I need to do
00:19:51for giving the balance with my teammates.
00:19:57Terry, knowing how highly we as a group
00:19:59and, you know, the world of football thinks of Claude,
00:20:01I can only imagine how highly he's thought of in France as a whole.
00:20:05Look, he knows, I've said it so many times about him,
00:20:07people do not know that this guy is skillful.
00:20:10He has all the skill that you want.
00:20:12When he won the league with Nantes,
00:20:14he was playing as a right winger.
00:20:16And then he understood when he had to play with other players,
00:20:21when he went to Madrid and he played with Zidane
00:20:23or he played with Zidane in a national team
00:20:25or he played with Lampard, he knew his role.
00:20:27But this guy could play.
00:20:29When you think about Claude McIlealy,
00:20:32they invented, when they were talking about the position,
00:20:36you say his name.
00:20:39Every team wanted a McIlealy, not a holding midfielder.
00:20:42They wanted a McIlealy.
00:20:43That speaks volumes about what that guy was willing to do
00:20:47for his team to win.
00:20:49Although, trust me, he had a lot of skills
00:20:51and that's why I was always trying to stop him,
00:20:53play and make sure he wasn't going to touch the ball.
00:20:56But what a player he was and he's a reference for everybody
00:21:00because I've said it so many times,
00:21:03that Nantes team that won the league in France,
00:21:07the way they were playing football
00:21:09is one of the best teams I've ever seen on the ball.
00:21:13So, no, he knows that.
00:21:14The way they were playing was ridiculous.
00:21:16And so, once again, like Jamie said,
00:21:20it was my pleasure to play with you
00:21:22and sometimes stop you also.
00:21:24Well, I played with you at Borland League
00:21:25so it was nice to play with you there as well.
00:21:29Claude, look at all this love.
00:21:31You should come on the show more often.
00:21:32We would love to have you more often.
00:21:34Thank you so much.
00:21:34We appreciate you.
00:21:44All right, so we're going to jump back to your footage, Jamie.
00:21:46We're going to go to 2007...
00:21:49Can we talk about it?
00:21:50Because I feel like you've been a little bit humble here.
00:21:52Like, when you're talking about defenders and all that stuff,
00:21:54these are some of your best moments.
00:21:56Hype them up, Michael.
00:21:57Yeah, I want to give you a little bit more loving.
00:21:59Kylie, roll Reg.
00:22:00Do you want to analyse it?
00:22:01Roll Reg, yeah, all right.
00:22:02Step back.
00:22:02Let big meets do the job.
00:22:04Come on.
00:22:05But we talk about players and big moments.
00:22:09They went 1-0 down.
00:22:10Yeah, so we were 1-0 in the first leg.
00:22:12We were 1-0 down.
00:22:13We got 1-0 very early on the game.
00:22:15And again, we're holding on.
00:22:16But look at this.
00:22:17We talk about aggressive.
00:22:19He mentioned about his size and his stature.
00:22:21Not the biggest.
00:22:21But he's up there.
00:22:23He's thinking fast with the brain.
00:22:24Thierry says it all the time.
00:22:25Positioning.
00:22:26Very, very good.
00:22:27Absolutely outstanding.
00:22:29When I used to play against him,
00:22:30I didn't like him because he talked too much.
00:22:32But this is why he talked so much.
00:22:34Because he believed in his ability.
00:22:36We talk about leaders on the pitch.
00:22:39This is what Jamie Carragher brings you.
00:22:42And I know he's being humble tonight.
00:22:44That, not so much.
00:22:44I don't know what you're doing there, Jamie.
00:22:47But to have all these things that our defenders need,
00:22:49whether you're going in, where you're reading it,
00:22:51you're stepping in back, his body,
00:22:53all these are perfect to show to young kids playing football.
00:22:57I mean, he called it offside there, didn't there?
00:22:59But he kept back.
00:23:00And I know he wasn't happy with Jermaine Pettit in that one.
00:23:02But you can take the floor, sir.
00:23:04No problem.
00:23:05But no, listen, this was me at my best.
00:23:07On the edge of the box, defending, keeping things out.
00:23:11Probably wasn't the best centre-back you'd want on the halfway line.
00:23:13But in these positions, hanging on to a lead,
00:23:16this is my career.
00:23:18This is me at my best.
00:23:20I think of European football, as I said, Drogba.
00:23:23Listen, I love Didier Drogba.
00:23:24I almost treat him like a teammate
00:23:25because I played against him that often.
00:23:28Yeah, it was just, I knew him so well.
00:23:30Had some great battles at times.
00:23:32He'd get goals against me.
00:23:33At times, we'd keep him out.
00:23:34But it was a brilliant battle.
00:23:36It was.
00:23:36And as I said, some of the greatest moments for me
00:23:38playing against Chelsea in the Champions League.
00:23:40Amazing, Keller.
00:23:422008, though, that was the one semi-final
00:23:44that you guys didn't win.
00:23:45That's how Chelsea got their revenge.
00:23:47Should we go through that one as well?
00:23:51Well, I think there might be an offside in here.
00:23:55Well, on the next side, stop pausing there.
00:23:58Pause there because I want to pause.
00:23:59Don't even roll on.
00:24:00Because there, your body position, Jamie,
00:24:04and you talk about body positions all the time.
00:24:06That is your go-to.
00:24:08So if we roll it on slowly here, roll it on,
00:24:12I think you can open up a little bit more.
00:24:14See what's behind here.
00:24:15You can see what's in front of you.
00:24:17Pause there.
00:24:18Pause, pause.
00:24:18If you go back ever so slightly, ever so slightly,
00:24:21you're looking the wrong way, Jamie.
00:24:24At least I'm looking.
00:24:25You're still looking.
00:24:27Can we just have a little word about the Real Madrid manager here?
00:24:31I mean, you've just seen me bully Drogba two games running.
00:24:36Doesn't stop him running.
00:24:38Doesn't give a shout.
00:24:39And then you relax to position half a yard.
00:24:44And you get, you know, you get that away.
00:24:47One mistake in three games.
00:24:48That's true.
00:24:50I think we should applaud that.
00:24:52Come on.
00:24:52We have to give you your flowers.
00:24:54Thank you.
00:24:54Outstanding.
00:24:54We are proud.
00:24:55Can we make sure that goes out on socials?
00:24:59Yes, we will.
00:25:00Terry always likes to go one better than everybody.
00:25:02Four Champions League semifinals for you, wasn't it?
00:25:05One for Monaco, one for Arsenal, two for Barcelona.
00:25:08What's your kind of overriding memories of those experiences?
00:25:12Well, the first one with Monaco, obviously.
00:25:13If you think about Monaco reaching the semifinal,
00:25:15and I know Monaco also reached the final with Patrick Sevra's team.
00:25:19But, you know, losing against Juventus,
00:25:22we were a bit too short against them.
00:25:25And, you know, in terms of quality,
00:25:27I didn't play the first leg.
00:25:29I was upset.
00:25:30I don't know why.
00:25:30I was on a lot of goals,
00:25:32battling with Del Piero to finish top goal scorer.
00:25:34But the boss didn't start me.
00:25:36That's against Villarreal.
00:25:37It will pass here from a corner to Alexander Gleb.
00:25:40And then Toure, Kolo Toure just had to tap it in.
00:25:43We all remember Riquelme missing the penalty.
00:25:45Or, shall I say, Jens Lehmann stopping that penalty
00:25:49to make sure that we're going to go to the final with Arsenal.
00:25:53And then, everyone remembers that one.
00:25:56Leo Messi here getting done.
00:25:58Paul Sculls get the ball.
00:26:00Zombrota didn't clear it well.
00:26:02But one thing Paul Sculls did,
00:26:04he did find the top corner.
00:26:06And then, when you think about it,
00:26:08same top corner after the one against Chelsea.
00:26:14Everyone will remember, first and foremost,
00:26:16the goal of Essien.
00:26:18Woof!
00:26:18I was on the bench, injured.
00:26:22I was like, oh, it looks like we're not going to go to the final.
00:26:25Essien doesn't clear the ball well.
00:26:27This time, Messi gives the ball to Iniesta.
00:26:28I swear, I was on the bench.
00:26:29And I was like, do not shoot!
00:26:31Yay!
00:26:33You know, I was great.
00:26:34We were playing with ten men at that time.
00:26:36And Andres made it 1-1.
00:26:37As you can see, it was just crazy.
00:26:41And then, we went on to win the treble.
00:26:43And everybody will remember Didier here.
00:26:46To be fair, they had some moment
00:26:48where they were a bit suspicious.
00:26:51I'll be honest.
00:26:51But we had also some suspicious moment
00:26:53that people don't remember at the Camp Nou.
00:26:55Nobody did complain about that one.
00:26:57But, yeah.
00:26:57Right, Kate, we've got a minute left.
00:26:59Should we do mine?
00:27:00Oh.
00:27:01Oh, interesting.
00:27:03I did want to ask you really quick,
00:27:05just the mentality in a semi-final.
00:27:07What does it have to be?
00:27:07And how does it change from the rest of the season?
00:27:10It just feels like, you know, less game you have,
00:27:13you can't make a mistake.
00:27:15You know, in a league phase, group stage or whatever,
00:27:18we also, during the league, people always say,
00:27:21now it matters.
00:27:22It matters because you don't have a lot of games after that.
00:27:25You're trying to go to the final.
00:27:26And people always say,
00:27:27is it better to lose in a semi-final or in a final?
00:27:29I'd rather go to the final.
00:27:30Sorry, I don't know why people say that.
00:27:31I'd rather to have the experience to go in the final.
00:27:33Which is our favourite TT look, by the way?
00:27:35I like the old school.
00:27:36Old school TT's always the best.
00:27:38Ooh, little moustache.
00:27:41All right, everybody.
00:27:42We will be back in just a minute.
00:27:44See you all in a second.
00:27:49He passes the ball.
00:27:52Goal!
00:27:53Kevin, when we're out together,
00:27:57dancing cheek to cheek.
00:28:19Tonight, we feast.
00:28:26Sorry, BRB squad.

00:28:42Okay.
00:28:43And what about a bottomless drink?
00:28:44Sure, but answer this.
00:28:45Is Chili's Big Crispy Sandwich
00:28:47bigger than McDonald's McCrispy?
00:28:49Oh, well, yeah, that is way bigger.
00:28:52So all of that deliciousness is still just $10.99?
00:28:56Oh, fast food is not gonna like this.

00:39:16You're watching the Pre-Match Show on CBS Sports, presented by Trem Fire.
00:39:46Welcome back to the quarterfinals coming up today.
00:39:50Arsenal is the most solid team in the Champions League.
00:39:52And Arsenal have stolen this first leg.
00:39:56After all that patience comes the prize.
00:39:59This is the biggest chance in your life.
00:40:03Spanish teams are doing very well in Europe.
00:40:05Atletico are into the semifinals.
00:40:08I really enjoy your show, so thank you.
00:40:11You need to be arrogant on the ball, but humble off the ball.
00:40:16The icing on the cake for the European champions.
00:40:20Bayern can attack well.
00:40:22They are very, very good.
00:40:25Semifinalists, Bayern Munich, style.
00:40:32Quarterfinals. We enjoyed that. That was good.
00:40:35A few weeks ago, you might remember, we talked about the pros and cons going into the last eight.
00:40:39So going into those quarterfinals. It was good.
00:40:40So we're going to do it again.
00:40:42This time we're going to break down the final four.
00:40:44We're going to start with tomorrow's game.
00:40:46So let's do Atletico versus Arsenal.
00:40:48Atletico first, please. Micah.
00:40:49Ooh, Atletico. I mean, after what they did against Barcelona, it was outstanding.
00:40:54We have to say match winners, whether you've got Alvarez and Griezmann, it's all off to come off the bench.
00:41:00Freshness, you would say, because they're only really playing now for the Champions League.
00:41:06Maybe the best pair of strikers left, isn't it?
00:41:08No.
00:41:09No?
00:41:09Kane?
00:41:10Best pair.
00:41:11Maybe, yes. Best pair.
00:41:13Best pair, yes.
00:41:14Excuse me.
00:41:14Excuse me.
00:41:16Because away form has not been good defensive record as well in terms of, in the Champions League, conceding 26
00:41:25goals.
00:41:26Only Carabag have conceded more.
00:41:28So, yes, should be interesting tomorrow, Kate.
00:41:32Yes.
00:41:32Let's talk about Arsenal, the Gunners, TT.
00:41:35The Arsenal, unfortunately, the pros didn't change too much, especially after the game against Newcastle.
00:41:41So, solid set pieces.
00:41:43One thing that we did notice is that the team looked a bit fatigued and have been there, you know,
00:41:51physically, mentally.
00:41:52When you play for the title and you have to play in Europe, it's draining.
00:41:56And then we also know the lack of creativity that might be obviously an issue.
00:42:02Ooh.
00:42:03And PSG for me, Kate.
00:42:05Go ahead.
00:42:05Yes.
00:42:06I just think being winners, we're talking about momentum.
00:42:09Now we think of sort of the experience of last year.
00:42:12And also the momentum is similar to last year where we didn't probably see the best of them before Christmas.
00:42:17And then in the new year, they've been absolutely fantastic as they were last season as well.
00:42:22So, that's a big fill-up for them.
00:42:23And the thing that maybe could stop them is not having a world-class goalkeeper.
00:42:28You think of how important Donnarumma was last season and them winning that title.
00:42:32Obviously, the manager, Luis Enrique, wanted a different type of goalkeeper, supposedly better with the feet, but certainly not better
00:42:40in terms of shot saving.
00:42:42And that could be a huge part about, you know, whether they go through against Bayern.
00:42:46Do you think they've got the best individual quality, PSG?
00:42:48If you look at the names on the team sheet.
00:42:51Yeah, I do.
00:42:52I think these are the two best teams.
00:42:54But when we just looked at the two line-ups there, I do think they have the edge, certainly in
00:42:57central midfield.
00:42:59I was just going to ask, does that mean, do you think they win the whole thing now?
00:43:02Yeah, I mean, it wasn't in my brackets, but I do know.
00:43:07Yeah, I think they are the best team.
00:43:09Micah, Bayern?
00:43:10Ooh, Bayern.
00:43:12I mean, because Vincent Kupin is my mate, I want him to do well.
00:43:16When he'd been in the dressing room with someone and you see him doing so well.
00:43:20We talked about him before being the most balanced team.
00:43:22They're good up front, good in midfield.
00:43:25Maybe at the back, they could give you a chance.
00:43:28But in terms of the structure of the team, it's very good.
00:43:31I think I'm going to show my analysis a little bit later.
00:43:34When they commit men forward, they do leave the defence exposed.
00:43:39And concentration has got to be key for them going forward.
00:43:42So, yeah, I'm excited to see how it pans out.
00:43:45Do you agree with the pros and cons on PSG and Bayern?
00:43:48Nothing to add.
00:43:50Nothing to add.
00:43:51Have you got anything to add?
00:43:52No, I don't.
00:43:56Are we all brackets looking, Kate?
00:43:57I think mine might be looking better than all of yours.
00:44:01Actually, top of the table.
00:44:02Thank you very much.
00:44:04I'm not sure.
00:44:05Is that official?
00:44:06Am I top of the table?
00:44:07Yeah, you are.
00:44:08Yeah, we'll see.
00:44:10Anyway, OK.
00:44:11Last year, remember, PSG won their first Champions League title.
00:44:14They did it in record-breaking fashion.
00:44:17Has been a minute, though, since Bayern last reached the final.
00:44:20They're on a mission to return.
00:44:21Who is going to get the first leg advantage in this game this evening?
00:44:24We're going to talk more about that game after this break.
00:44:26Stay with us.
00:44:31He passes the ball.
00:44:33Goal!
00:44:35Kevin, when we're out together, dancing cheek to cheek.
00:44:41What's up, guys?
00:44:46Hello?
00:44:48Whoa.
00:44:49Mama Grig in 85 lives here?
00:44:51Yep.
00:44:52That's my mom.
00:44:53The absolute legend who went from gaming on her phone to ruthless online streaming slayer with no mercy for any
00:44:59living thing is your mom?
00:45:01Hey, guys.
00:45:03Apples with peanut butter?
00:45:04How is this possible?
00:45:06With AT&T wireless and home internet.
00:45:08Hey.

00:46:32And choose how you want to play next
00:46:42Take a pause, play with the plan
00:46:47The Three For Me, only at Chili's
00:46:49Is now available with the Big Crispy Chicken Sandwich
00:46:51Yeah, that looks pretty good
00:46:52But do you still get bottomless chips and salsa?
00:46:55Okay, and what about a bottomless drink?
00:46:57Sure, but answer this
00:46:58Is Chili's Big Crispy Sandwich bigger than McDonald's McCrispy?
00:47:02Oh, well, yeah, that is way bigger
00:47:04So all of that deliciousness is still just $10.99?
00:47:09Oh, fast food is not gonna like this
00:47:11This Chili's Three For Me is the best $10.99 you can eat
00:47:16I mean, we all do it
00:47:17You see a line, have no idea what it's for
00:47:19But your brain is like, should I join it?
00:47:21It's crazy, right?
00:47:22Hey, let me call you back
00:47:23I gotta stand in a line
00:47:24Even crazier is that folks stick with insurance
00:47:27That keeps them waiting around to find a claim
00:47:28While Geico's claim support is available day or night
00:47:31I mean, I'd have FOMO about that, if anything
00:47:33Excuse me, what are you waiting for?
00:47:35No one knows
00:47:37Okay
00:47:38You're cool, you can cut
00:47:40I'm alright, actually
00:47:41No, seriously
00:47:42It feels good to step out of line
00:47:44It feels good to Geico
00:47:47Welcome to Texas
00:48:01A legacy is a beautiful thing
00:48:03But only if it survives
00:48:19You're watching the Pre-Match Show on CBS Sports
00:48:22Presented by Tramp Fire
00:48:35The Champions
00:48:58Back in 2020, during COVID
00:49:00It was a former PSG Academy player, Kingsley Coman
00:49:03Who got the title-winning goal for Bayern against his old team
00:49:07With that win, Bayern have won seven of their last ten meetings
00:49:11Including three straight at the Parc des Princes tonight for PSG
00:49:15What that means is it's all about ending that Bayern win streak
00:49:18We're going to take you straight out to Paris
00:49:20To Peter and Anita again
00:49:22Hello, guys
00:49:25Hey, hey
00:49:26Lovely to see you guys in the studio
00:49:28Yes, bienvenue à Paris
00:49:29Welcome to Parc des Princes
00:49:31It is a beautiful spring evening here in the French capital
00:49:34And you can hear the fans in full voice
00:49:36The anticipation is high
00:49:38The stakes are high for the European champions to face
00:49:41The recently crammed German champions
00:49:43No Vincent Kompany in the dugout for Bayern Munich
00:49:47Because he was suspended in their second leg of that quarterfinal
00:49:49But, Peter, you do know the man who will be leading them out tonight
00:49:53Yeah, I did my pro licence with him back in 2019
00:49:58Aaron Danks
00:49:59So, and it's interesting
00:50:01So he will be the first English manager to take charge of the semifinal
00:50:05Since Bobby Robson did it
00:50:08But, yeah, no, it's incredible
00:50:10Because when I think back to this group here
00:50:12So, you know, most of the education was peer-to-peer learning
00:50:18So what we did in small groups all the time
00:50:20To talk about, obviously, the subjects
00:50:22But also what we wanted to do in football
00:50:24And a lot of them was hoping they could get a job afterwards
00:50:28And here we go
00:50:29He's in charge of this game today
00:50:32Yeah, he, actually, I told him he was the first English manager
00:50:36To, since Bobby Robson
00:50:38And he didn't know that
00:50:40So he's, it's a little bit more
00:50:41A little bit more pressure
00:50:44Yeah, just a bit of pressure
00:50:46But what a special night for him
00:50:47I'm sorry, you've set me up there
00:50:49But what happened to you and your coaching career then
00:50:52If you got the badges?
00:50:53No, I did this in order to be better at this job
00:50:55You know, so
00:50:58So, that's, that's what
00:51:00That's, you know, preparation for being a good pundit is
00:51:03Oh, I like that
00:51:04You discovered that very well there
00:51:07Essentially, you're the one who gives us the insight
00:51:09That maybe some of us don't have
00:51:11Now, we heard Jamie a little while ago
00:51:13Say that the key difference for him in this PSG side
00:51:15Is no donor in between the sticks
00:51:17We both think that both goalkeepers
00:51:20For both of these teams will play a huge role tonight
00:51:22Yeah, I mean, we've seen them over the last couple of weeks
00:51:24I think actually Safarov in the PSG goal
00:51:27He gets a bit of a tough ride
00:51:29I don't think he's that bad
00:51:30I actually think he's stepped up
00:51:31And I would, I would think that
00:51:33That PSG are not even looking for a goalkeeper now
00:51:36Maybe they did six months ago
00:51:38When they found out that Chavalier they brought in
00:51:40Instead of Donnarumma
00:51:41Wasn't up to what they wanted him to do
00:51:43But what we've seen in these last couple of semifinals
00:51:46Or sort of quarterfinals
00:51:47Is that more, the goalkeepers have
00:51:49They play a big part of it
00:51:51You saw, obviously, Neuer in Madrid
00:51:53Playing out of his skin
00:51:54Probably the best game he's played for years
00:51:56And then 35 seconds into the second leg
00:51:59He made a big mistake
00:52:00And when you look at the striking options that are on spec today
00:52:05I mean, they will create a lot of chances
00:52:07And if the goalkeepers today are not up to it
00:52:10We could have something like a scoreline of 7-7 or 8-8
00:52:15They need to make save today
00:52:17Because there'll be chances
00:52:18Wow, what a game that would be
00:52:20Hopefully we do see goals here
00:52:22As you can hear, the volume has rise just that little bit more, Kate
00:52:25As the Bayern Munich team are out, warming up behind us
00:52:29Yes, looks good out there
00:52:30Thank you so much, guys
00:52:31We'll see you in a minute
00:52:32I want to talk to you guys about the form that these two teams come in to this game on
00:52:37I guess, earlier in the season, there were some concerns over PSG
00:52:40Maybe not being quite the same team that they were the season before
00:52:44One thing they really seem to have done is master when to hit form, Thierry
00:52:47And now they're right up there
00:52:49It looks like they're well-positioned to win Ligue 1 in the semifinals of the Champions League
00:52:52I think the 6.8 in Ligue 1, the Lance pushed them
00:52:56Nobody pushed them last year
00:52:58But also they didn't have the opportunity to have always the same starting XI
00:53:01We talked about it, players were injured
00:53:02The amount of games that they played from last year to this year
00:53:05It's been really difficult
00:53:07So it's very difficult to carry momentum
00:53:09But every single time when they need to be
00:53:12Where they need to be physically and mentally
00:53:14That's exactly where they are to play those games
00:53:17So they're going to win the league
00:53:19Then let's see what they're going to do, obviously, in the Champions League
00:53:23That's going to be a tough one tonight
00:53:24Do you think they're as good as they were last season?
00:53:28I'll tell you yes
00:53:29Why? Because now they know how to win
00:53:32Knowing how to win is usually a plus
00:53:35That doesn't mean you're going to roll over that team of Bayern Munich
00:53:38Because it's going to be difficult
00:53:40But they know what it takes to win
00:53:41They know what it is
00:53:42They know if they are a team out there and they play for each other
00:53:45They can go really far, as we already saw last year
00:53:48So that's always a plus when you have that on your side
00:53:51With Bayern Munich, one of the things we always talk about
00:53:53Is that fallibility, right?
00:53:54The fact that they'll give you a chance
00:53:55You saw it in the Bundesliga at the weekend
00:53:57They go 3-0 down to Mainz
00:53:58And then they come back and win 4-3
00:54:00Kind of feels like a classic Bayern Munich performance
00:54:02Yeah, it feels like classic Vincent Kompany, though
00:54:05I keep going back to when we spoke to him
00:54:07And he wasn't too worried about conceding a goal
00:54:09I can't remember the game
00:54:10But, you know, as long as they win the game
00:54:13That feels like it's enough for Vincent Kompany
00:54:15I think for a lot of managers
00:54:16They want the clean sheet
00:54:18And they want them scoring goals
00:54:19They do enough for Vincent Kompany
00:54:20As we're going to outscore you
00:54:21And this is not a one-off
00:54:23It's not being a one-off in the Champions League also
00:54:25But, as I said, they're not a team
00:54:26Who seem to desperately want to keep clean sheets
00:54:29And that's surprising
00:54:30Because the manager's a centre-back as well
00:54:32Normally centre-backs, that's your goal
00:54:34Before every game
00:54:35I keep a clean sheet
00:54:36That's me scoring my goal
00:54:37So, yeah, I keep going back to that comment by Vincent Kompany
00:54:40But, that should bode well for a fantastic game
00:54:44Yeah, I just think with Vincent Kompany
00:54:45When I was in a dressing room with him
00:54:47He was always talking about his philosophy
00:54:48And he was just
00:54:49We'll beat you
00:54:50It doesn't matter how we do it
00:54:51Yeah, he was a defender
00:54:52He was strong
00:54:53He was aggressive
00:54:54But in terms of how he wanted to play
00:54:55He always wanted to play attacking football
00:54:57So, to see him in a semi-final
00:54:59And go to a final
00:55:00Potentially in a Champions League
00:55:01I'm just absolutely delighted for him
00:55:02I really am
00:55:03Yes, we all are
00:55:04Well, after the break
00:55:05We're going to talk about
00:55:06Yeah, why not
00:55:07The two contrasting head coaches
00:55:10We'll talk about two-time treble winner
00:55:12Luis Enrique
00:55:12And more about Micah's friend
00:55:14The Bayern boss
00:55:15Vincent Kompany
00:55:16Stay with us, everybody
00:55:17We'll be back in just a sec
00:55:24He passes the ball
00:55:26Goal!
00:55:28Kevin
00:55:28When we're out together
00:55:31Dancing cheek to cheek
00:55:42He's drifting through the defense
00:55:45It's like a street racer
00:55:48The ball is glued to their foot
00:55:55Oh, what?
00:55:56She fills the net like a gas tank on payday
00:56:00Brilliant control
00:56:01That's a smart choice

00:56:27I put myself in a bear hug to keep from snacking
00:56:30You should try wonderful pistachios
00:56:32They're tasty and healthy
00:56:35Mmm
00:56:36Is that honey?
00:56:38Sure is

00:59:23You're watching The Prematch Show on CBS Sports, presented by Trampfire.
00:59:53Well, after up-and-down spells with Anderlecht, with Burnley, Vincent Kompany was something
00:59:58of a surprise choice when he was appointed manager for Bayern Munich in May 2024.
01:00:02But in Germany, his brand of exciting, attacking football has brought glory days back to Munich.
01:00:14Football for me has a real value in society.
01:00:17Sports in general, of course, but this sport being the biggest one in the world.
01:00:22Football is real, so we live in a world of social media, AI and everything, and you don't
01:00:29even know what's real anymore.
01:00:31When you go to a football match, it's real, it's what you see, it's an event, it's an emotion.
01:00:39You've celebrated and you've fought for colours that are the colours of a shirt and not the
01:00:43colours of skin.
01:00:46And it has a real power to it, and if you stop looking at it as like the top 1
01:00:52% and how
01:00:52much they earn and how much this, just football in general, I think it's real.
01:00:59And real is better nowadays.
01:01:13Reikardt for sure was an inspiration for me because he was black, so there is no doubt
01:01:19in the fact that it does have an impact, but I don't think it's the starting point.
01:01:23I think the starting point is try and measure yourself against the best, be the best yourself
01:01:29in your own right.
01:01:30I try to be myself and try to be close to what my parents wanted from me, close to what
01:01:41I want for my children, and then the rest follows.
01:01:45I'm myself and, you know, I will always be myself and nothing less and nothing more than
01:01:55that.
01:01:57What a guy!
01:01:58That's my guy, Kate!
01:02:00What a guy!
01:02:01Come on!
01:02:01How friendly are you?
01:02:02Very friendly.
01:02:03Do you guys text?
01:02:04Yeah, every now and then.
01:02:06Yeah.
01:02:07Why are you hating?
01:02:08It was my captain when we lifted that trophy, Kate!
01:02:10Come on!
01:02:11When was the last time you texted him?
01:02:13Last week.
01:02:14Okay.
01:02:14Yeah.
01:02:15I replied, yeah.
01:02:17I replied, yeah.
01:02:18Anyway, you spent a bunch of time around Vincent Kompany.
01:02:22You know, obviously, when you were working with the assistant coach with the Belgian national
01:02:26team.
01:02:27Those leadership qualities that he has that we all see in him on the pitch.
01:02:31Is that something that makes him just kind of perfect for these kind of roles?
01:02:34Yeah.
01:02:35Yeah.
01:02:35But, you know, there's something about Vincent is that what he has is contagious.
01:02:39However, he's going to address it.
01:02:42You need to be ready to take what he has to say also.
01:02:44He's a real leader.
01:02:45He will not, you know, not say what he thinks.
01:02:48And so what he thinks, sorry.
01:02:50And there is one thing about him that he's very meticulous.
01:02:52And people that are meticulous will always reach levels that you can see now because
01:02:57everything matters.
01:02:59Everything does matter.
01:03:00He has an opinion, as you know, strong one, and will never deviate to what he thinks.
01:03:05But he will work really hard in order to make it happen.
01:03:08And so, you know, like I said, it was a bit too quick because he had some little injuries
01:03:15at the end of his career.
01:03:16And I would have loved him to play a bit more for me to have time with him also.
01:03:21Because the way he thinks is not really normal.
01:03:25But what a leader.
01:03:26What a guy.
01:03:27Vincent Kompany can pick up Thierry, by the way.
01:03:29Do you see that?
01:03:29I know.
01:03:30Yeah.
01:03:31Can you?
01:03:31Don't ask me to.
01:03:33I'm little mixed now.
01:03:34Anyway, can we show how he plays?
01:03:35You like the way teams play football, don't you?
01:03:37Yeah.
01:03:37I want to show you how he plays.
01:03:39He's aggressive.
01:03:39He's stylish.
01:03:41Attacking football.
01:03:42But one thing he demands from his players is they've got to work hard.
01:03:45And as you see this from kickoff here, they sort of try to box you in.
01:03:50Once one goes, jumps the other.
01:03:52And now you're asking everyone else to come.
01:03:54This is what he demands from his players.
01:03:56And now they box you in.
01:03:57And can they get wide to their top players like Alisi to go in a one-on-one situation.
01:04:03You can go out on the side this time.
01:04:04He decides to go inside to Kane.
01:04:06And you know what Kane does.
01:04:07He's absolutely outstanding.
01:04:09Some things not said about Bayern.
01:04:12You see Kane in this position here in the tent.
01:04:15Musiala.
01:04:15Is there work rate off the ball too?
01:04:19So when they get in deep positions, you see Musiala was there all the way back.
01:04:23And in this position here, you're thinking, okay, how are you going to break us down?
01:04:26But the important thing is how quickly he can go from back to front.
01:04:31This time, Luis Diaz on the white.
01:04:33We know how well he can keep the ball.
01:04:35But what's interesting, Alisi stays high.
01:04:37And Harry Kane is in these situations here.
01:04:40He's not going to run people behind here.
01:04:42But that's what he can do.
01:04:43He can get on the ball, get a pass.
01:04:44And now you've got a one-on-one situation with Alisi.
01:04:47We've talked about it.
01:04:47He can go right, he can go left.
01:04:48This time, it curls it.
01:04:50The one conundrum with Vincent Kompany's team is this.
01:04:55Kane, lots of days ago, in the middle of the field, giving it away.
01:04:59The counter, the transition.
01:05:00You see here, Kimmich trying to get back.
01:05:03Uwe Pekano, he waits too late.
01:05:05Now he gets in a race, which could be Dembele tonight.
01:05:08And they concede a goal.
01:05:10So, when they're on the ball, when they're pressing, they're very good.
01:05:13Commit men forward.
01:05:14It's just the other side.
01:05:16Concentration on that counter-attack.
01:05:18He said conundrum.
01:05:19Oh, yeah.
01:05:20I'm on fire.
01:05:20We're on big CBS tonight.
01:05:22Big words.
01:05:22Big words.
01:05:24I can't.
01:05:25I can't.
01:05:26Luis Enrique.
01:05:27I mean, if you think back to PSG and how we used to talk about them just a couple of
01:05:30years ago, right?
01:05:31And kind of the issues that that team had.
01:05:33It's very impressive where he's brought this PSG team to.
01:05:36He's a brilliant manager.
01:05:38Very few managers have won the Champions League with two different teams.
01:05:41You think of sort of the great managers in the Champions League.
01:05:44You think of Ancelotti.
01:05:44You think of Guardiola.
01:05:45He's right up there alongside them.
01:05:47And he was very brave as a manager.
01:05:49You think of the stars.
01:05:50He inherited.
01:05:51He moved them on.
01:05:52And last year, watch him in that final.
01:05:54It was...
01:05:54I love watching them because I like seeing new teams winning.
01:05:57It's not a fairytale story.
01:05:58We know they've got huge backing behind them.
01:06:00But it wasn't Messi.
01:06:01It wasn't Neymar.
01:06:02And I'll see we see him there with the big flag.
01:06:04What he'd been through himself and his family as well.
01:06:07It was great to see.
01:06:08And he's...
01:06:09You can't help but look at him and think you'd love him to be the manager of your team.
01:06:12He's just got that something about him.
01:06:14A bit of a fiery character.
01:06:16A little bit of a needle about him.
01:06:17He's had a pop with us, hasn't he?
01:06:18Because we never said he'd win the Champions League last year.
01:06:20I think it was you specifically.
01:06:22Speak for yourself.
01:06:25But no, I think he's an absolutely fantastic manager.
01:06:29All right.
01:06:29Let's take you out to Paris then and check in with Anita and Peter.
01:06:32Again, filling in back there, guys, isn't it?
01:06:37It definitely is, Kate.
01:06:38And just a word.
01:06:39Luis Enrique doesn't have a problem with either of us two.
01:06:41But the stadium is filling up very nicely here.
01:06:44The sense of anticipation is building as these two European superhouses
01:06:48are hoping to take an advantage into that second leg in Munich next week.
01:06:52It's so hard to call.
01:06:54Of course, so many superstars on the pitch behind us.
01:06:57It's such a privilege.
01:06:58And we are now just over 20 minutes on our Pepsi countdown clock.
01:07:02So given the number of stars in both of these teams, Peter,
01:07:06how hard is it to call how this first leg will go?
01:07:09No, I think this is actually one of the most difficult games to call at all.
01:07:16I would say until today when I saw Betinha play,
01:07:19if he hadn't played today, I would say that Bayern were the favorites.
01:07:23But because Virginia plays today, I think it's 50-50.
01:07:28I've been listening to what the studio said about, you know,
01:07:30Bayern giving goals away.
01:07:32I have to say Bayern and PSG are giving goals away, both of them.
01:07:36Bayern's conceded 52, but PSG has conceded 48.
01:07:40So it's not that PSG is a better defensive team.
01:07:44What they are, both of them though, is they are attacking teams.
01:07:48And as I say, with Betinha back in the line-up today, that makes a big difference.
01:07:53And it makes it 50-50 for me.
01:07:55Yeah, of course, those attacking players will get a lot of the headlines.
01:07:57But the man on your screen now, the Portuguese international, Betinha,
01:08:00has been so key to PSG's success in the last couple of seasons.
01:08:05Yeah, very often when we're here, we see something that the cameras are not seeing.
01:08:09But he is literally here, there and everywhere.
01:08:12He wins the ball. He never gives the ball away.
01:08:14I mean, he had, in the two Liverpool games, he had a 97% success rate.
01:08:21I mean, these are just crazy stats.
01:08:24And you know, as I say, as you can see, he's just, it's not like he's in a certain area.
01:08:28He's just everywhere.
01:08:30And also, what he does really well, he's also creating goals.
01:08:34He's creating chances.
01:08:34And he sees these little areas.
01:08:37And that pass here, it's just perfect.
01:08:40But this guy, for me, is the best European midfield player.
01:08:44This year, and he should have a shout at the bottom door.
01:08:48Wow, what a huge call, yeah.
01:08:49The vision that Betinha has.
01:08:51Now, both of these two teams have scored 38 goals each to reach this stage of the tournament.
01:08:56So, Kate, we are very much hoping for plenty goals.
01:09:00Yes, so are we.
01:09:01We're excited for this game.
01:09:02Should be a very good one.
01:09:03PSG have scored at least two goals in their last eight Champions League matches.
01:09:07Bayern have scored at least three goals in 12 of their last 15 games.
01:09:11So, if you love attacking football, then you are certainly in the right place.
01:09:14We'll be right back in just a second, guys.
01:09:23He passes the ball.
01:09:25Goal!
01:09:27Kevin.
01:09:28When we're out together, dancing cheek to cheek.
01:09:37This has been the Prematch Show on CBS Sports presented by Trendfire.
01:09:54Every set of Continental tires is going to put total confidence.
01:10:00Total confidence?
01:10:02Like, knowing I have industry-leading coverage?
01:10:05Like, if my road trip gets interrupted, you have coverage that could help with that?
01:10:12And my tires are optimized for comfort and to reduce road noise.
01:10:18Everything we do is engineered to give you confidence.
01:10:20Connel.
01:10:21The smart choice in tires.
01:10:26Be in love with you.
01:10:34Yeah, that's right.
01:10:40Yeah.

01:20:53Oh, frei Bankshirt?
01:20:55Ja, es ist nicht ganz.
01:20:56Oh, excuse me, sorry, do you have this in extra, extra, extra, extra, extra small?
01:21:01Nah.
01:21:03Oversized is in.
01:21:04Totally.
01:21:04It feels good to find the right fit.
01:21:06It feels good to Geico.
01:21:08The Three for Me, only at Chili's, is now available with the Big Crispy Chicken Sandwich?
01:21:12Yeah, that looks pretty good, but do you still get bottomless chips and salsa?
01:21:16Okay, and what about a bottomless drink?
01:21:18Sure, but answer this.
01:21:19Is Chili's Big Crispy Sandwich bigger than McDonald's McCrispy?
01:21:23Oh, well, yeah, that is way bigger.
01:21:25So, all of that deliciousness is still just $10.99?
01:21:30Oh, fast food is not gonna like this.
01:21:33This Chili's Three for Me is the best $10.99 you can eat.
01:21:38NBA, always something different.
01:21:40All night, every night.
01:21:44Nailed it.

01:21:52Oh, get that out of here.

01:21:57Boom!

01:21:59Oh, wow!
01:22:01Let's go!

01:22:09You doing good?
01:22:10We're getting so sweet for a play.
01:22:33Come on, bro.
01:22:35Let's go!
01:22:36Let's go!
01:22:37Come on, bro.
01:22:39If you want to learn how to fan the football way, ask the fans with a Modelo.
01:22:50Only they know how to celebrate with strangers, as if they were lifelong friends.
01:22:54To lose their voice for weeks, after chanting for 90 minutes.
01:22:58They are always ready to teach you the ways of football, because to them, passion is meant to be shared.
01:23:04So go ahead, ask the fans with a Modelo.
01:23:08I'll come in, Texas.
01:23:22A legacy is a beautiful thing, but only if it survives.
01:24:03We are just one of the best teams right now in the Europa League.
01:24:06We are just one of the best teams right now in the Europa League.
01:24:07We feel like we can beat anyone when we're at our highest level.
01:24:12We are hungry and we want to improve our level.
01:24:16PSG are one of the best teams in Europe.
01:24:18This game against PSG is 50-50.
01:24:23Everybody thought that we could not win the championship, and now everybody knows we are the champion.
01:24:34PSG at home against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes.
01:24:38It's a dream semi-final we've got coming up tonight between two of Europe's heavy hitters and maybe the two
01:24:44best teams on current form in the continent right now.
01:24:48Anita and Peter are there witnessing these scenes live.
01:24:51Looks incredible out there in that stadium.
01:24:53Let's head out to both of them.
01:24:54Anita.
01:24:57Yes, Kate.
01:24:57Well, very rare is it the case that football fans and neutrals are so excited about a game.
01:25:04The sense of anticipation here in the Parc des Princes is so rife.
01:25:07I mean, the atmosphere in here is always good, and it's building up.
01:25:11You used the word anticipation so many times today, and that's what it is.
01:25:15Everyone are waiting for this game to begin.
01:25:19I said before, it's impossible to call.
01:25:21I stand by that.
01:25:22But I do expect a fantastic game of football, and sometimes you build them up and they disappoint.
01:25:29This game cannot disappoint.
01:25:31It's hard to disappoint when you've got so many stars on the pitch.
01:25:34We're looking forward to this one here in the French capital.
01:25:39Yes, we are.
01:25:39A very good-looking game, this one.
01:25:41If you remember back to the league phase, these two sides met, didn't they, back in November,
01:25:44and Bayern dominated PSG 1-2-1 in that one.
01:25:47It was a very different version of PSG, that PSG, though, Thierry.
01:25:51Do you think that game has any relevance to today?
01:25:53No, not at all.
01:25:54We saw last year that Paris Saint-Germain lost against Arsenal in the league phase,
01:25:58and then they beat them in the semi-final, so it's a different game.
01:26:02It's going to be a massive game.
01:26:05Everyone expects, obviously, to have fun tonight, obviously, for the neutrals.
01:26:11But I would have to agree with what Vincent Kompany said when we saw some of the stuff before we
01:26:17went back live to the stadium,
01:26:18obviously, it's a 50-50 game. Very difficult to call this one.
01:26:23Look, I've been to that stadium. Remember when I was in with the fans?
01:26:27It was intimidating. It was exciting. It was breathtaking.
01:26:31I can't wait for this game tonight. Look at them belly there. Ballon d'Or winner.
01:26:34He's just having those moments before the game where you're looking, looking deep,
01:26:39and he knows he needs a big performance. Jamie, come on, talk to me.
01:26:41Yeah, and listen, I just cannot wait for this game. I love football. I love the Champions League,
01:26:46but I can't think of a game I've been more excited to watch than this one over the next two
01:26:50legs.
01:26:51Okay, everybody, it's time for kickoff. So the Parc des Princes looks ready for PSG against Bayern.
01:26:57We're certainly ready for PSG against Bayern. For the call, we're going to send you over to Clive Tildesley and
01:27:01Rob Green.
01:27:02Enjoy the first 45, everybody. Us four are going to see you again at halftime.
