00:00Hello to all our viewers from El Espectador. We greet you from El Presente, from the Estereo Picnic Festival, here
00:05in El Simón Bolívar, and we are with Hoesher.
00:08Hoesher, how are you?
00:10I'm good, thank you, how are you?
00:12I'm doing well, thank you. So first I want to ask you, have you been here before in Colombia?
00:17Never before, it's my first time here in Colombia.
00:19Okay, and what do you think about the country?
00:21I love it so far, I mean, people have been incredibly sweet, and it's been nice to sort of get
00:27a sense of their heart, you know what I mean?
00:30I think it's been wonderful. Got to meet a few fans yesterday, and it's been super sweet.
00:35Yesterday, where?
00:36Just where I'm staying, I think, yeah, yeah. I'm not doing a show sadly or anything while I'm here, but
00:42hopefully I can come back.
00:44Okay, and what expectations do you have about your presentation today here in the Estereo Picnic?
00:51I'm hoping that the rain holds off, you know, we'll see.
00:55But we're just gonna do, you know, just kick out a few songs from the three albums, you know, from
01:01the last ten years.
01:03And I've got a full band, a nine piece band with me, so we just do it sort of like
01:08an old school rock and roll set up, you know.
01:09Okay, I heard that for your third album you inspired in Divine Comedy, that's right? And I want you to
01:20talk me a little bit about that.
01:21Yeah, for sure. So, the poem of Inferno by Dante, it's a story about a person kind of walking through
01:29hell, but he imagined that hell is arranged into nine circles.
01:34And the album is arranged into nine themes that correspond with the circles that he thought people were punished in.
01:41So, there is Limbo, I think Limbo, Lust, Wrath, you know, Gluttony, etc., etc., all nine circles down to treachery.
01:50And then he kind of walks out the other side. So, that's just how I sort of structured the album,
01:54with a sort of a descent into darkness and then nine themes.
01:58Yeah, tomorrow you realize one EP that is called Unheard, right? So, I want to ask you a little bit
02:05about that.
02:06Yeah. So, the album was called Unreal Unearthed. This EP is called Unheard. So, it was, you know, to be
02:14sort of unearthed, unheard.
02:17It is four songs that very nearly made it to the album. The album came in at 18 songs or
02:2117 songs.
02:23So, I ended up recording more material than I could put on the album. But these are songs that very
02:28nearly could have been different themes.
02:30So, I think, Violence, Limbo, The Ascent song, and what was the other one? Gluttony. Too Sweet is Gluttony. So,
02:39these are where they nearly sat.
02:41Okay, and last, I want to ask you, maybe, if you can send like hi to El Espectador.
02:49Yeah, of course. El Espectador, yeah.
02:53Hey, this is Hozier and you are listening to El Espectador.
02:56Okay, thank you so much.
02:58Thank you so much.
02:58Well, and to Lectors of the Espectador, we invite you to a close The Festival Estereo Picnic.
