00:00In 1952, there were many things happening.
00:02There was the invasion of the Código of Barras,
00:04Colombia fought in the War of the Korean War,
00:06the prohibition of Chaplin to go back to the U.S.,
00:09different parts of Bogotá were suffering attacks
00:10and ended up in the sedes of The Espectador and The Tiempo,
00:13and there was the Convention on the Derechos Políticos of the Women in the ONU.
00:16That's to say, in 71 years, while the world followed its chaos and creation,
00:21the resolution was recognized by the equality between men and women
00:24for the exercise of their political rights.
00:26Although this resolution only would be put in place in Colombia until 1954,
00:29it was an important advance in the Derechos of the Women.
00:32It's that reading this document is beautiful.
00:33Derecho to vote, to be elected, to be elected and to be elected,
00:36as well as to be elected, to be elected, to be elected and to be elected.
00:41But yeah, one thing is what is in the paper and the other thing is what is the reality.
00:44The reality is that the participation of women in the political field and in the decision to be relegated.
00:50According to the Interamerican Informations on the Liderazgo of the Women,
00:52developed by the American Organization of the United States,
00:55only 9 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean have a norm of parity in their legislations.
00:59And the rest of them are more flexible.
01:01With only the B, the 40% of women in political spaces is enough.
01:05But it's not.
01:06In the last 30 years, only 14 women have been elected in Latin America and the Caribbean.
01:10And why is that important?
01:11Because women are approximately the 50% of the population.
01:14So we feel super-representated.
01:16Because the majority of the topics that are discussed in the life, in the politics, in all areas,
01:20then they keep recayendo in the decisions of men.
01:22Eh, but if the law already supports that there are so many women in politics,
01:26why don't they want or why don't they want?
01:27And the politicians should be able to take those roles because they are prepared for them,
01:31not for their gender.
01:31Ser women is not a merit.
01:33Estudiar, capacitarse, and work honorably, yes, it is.
01:35Ah, the good meritocracy.
01:37This is not so.
01:37Ojalá the education was free and of quality, not a privilege.
01:40Ojalá no exist the roles of gender,
01:41like the feminization of the care and care of the care.
01:43And that women, instead of taking care of domestic tasks,
01:45like children or adults,
01:47can access to spaces where they can learn about politics and practice.
01:50But in fin, there are at least 7 things that are extremely important
01:52so that women can achieve the political parity.
01:551.
01:56Democracia paritaria.
01:562.
01:57Fortalecer the political leadership of women.
01:593.
02:00Erradicar the violence against women.
02:024.
02:03Promover the care system integrals of care.
02:045.
02:05Create and strengthen the social media mechanisms of participation for women in all their diversity.
02:106.
